The bush fires are literally surrounding the city im in haha! so yeah, Im safe here in newcastle, its just a bit difficult to leave.

why is it that whilst we don't celebrate Halloween in Australia, the stores are still full of costumes and themed junk? I mean, I love the idea of it but I feel so sorry for the kids who are so excited about dressing up! If you havent been trick or treating in Australia, let me tell you it can be seriously unfun. haha

I took my brothers and sister trick or treating one year, they did their own costumes and were so excited. But every second house we visited told them to "fuck off you american cunts" and shit like that. I mean, come on. the kids were like, six to ten. Theyre just having fun, theyre not trying to force "their american ideals" down your throat. Just say "Im sorry, but I dont have anything to give you!", compliment their costumes and move on. Theres no need to call a seven year old a fuckwit.

Yeah we didnt have a very nice Halloween a couple of years back and people are gross

I was trying to stockpile some art to submit over the next few days while I was doing uni work - I got excited and posted it right away woops

Im tyring to get all my uni work done super quick, because my Mum isnt able to go see my sister during the pregnancy so I'll be stepping in. This is all well and good, but my sister is expected a week or two earlier than I thought and eughgh its just so much stress. Im going to feel so, so guilty if I cant make it over to QLD in time to help her out. But I kind of have to be at university for exams and interviews.


BUT YEAH so basically Im gonna try calm down on the personal art because my Uni work is suffering. all my motivation for my university course is gone, im just plain old disenchanted with the idea of being an illustrator.

also my cat is so whingy. like, i think she's just trying to meow normally but no matter what her mood is, she always sounds like she's crying for attention /food. its very confusing haha.

also how do you make a cat be quiet?? she'll sit outside my bedroom crying for four in the morning onwards, and when I put her outside she comes to my window and yowls. When I bring her into the room, she'll sit in front of my face and yowl. theres no escape.

she's everywhere.


i think its just her breed. she's been to the vet and theres no mysterious illnesses. she's just super loud.

i've sorta finally come to the conclusion that natural history illustration isnt for me. Im good at it, but its just not making me happy - i loathe going to uni and painting, and i feel like at the end of it all, im going to show up for work every day and loathe it.

so in like a year, my partner and i are moving to another state where i'll be doing a bachelor or Veterinarian science. Ive been doing related courses to that degree as electives in my current one, and I have feel much more motivated.

ill still pursue my art as a hobby, and hey! Ill still have my degree in illustration if the opportunity ever shows up!

So yeah, huge changes coming soon, Im super nervous
