Still asking for people's OCs for free art
Posted 5 months agoThank you to all who have volunteered their OCs for my upcomming art projects, but I could use some more OCs Check out and reply to my journal HERE ( https://www.furaffinity.net/journal...../#cid:61096721 ) for more info.
I'm not dead! Call for your OCs
Posted 5 months agoSo for the past several months I've been hard at work at my new job, and also doing some other, creative, non-artwork stuff. But I want to do at least one fun floaty piece of artwork this year. So I'm going to try and do a big groupshot pic. So if you want to be included, just reply to this journal with the OC you'd like to see me draw, and I'll try to *fit* you in.
Rules are simple:
1) One OC per person
2) Your OC can't be trademarked (no 'cyan recolor of mario/sonic/whatever.')
3) Reply to THIS journal with a link to reference art of your character. IF THE ARTWORK HAS MULTIPLE PEOPLE IN IT, TELL ME WHICH ONE IS YOU!
4) You agree to let me make you big, puffy, buoyant, and maybe have some mild transformation-ness going on. I'll still try to make you look like you, but you may be in mid transformation.
5) I guarantee nothing. I'll try to fit in as many as I can, and several will be big and buoyant, but not all.
If you want to let people know that I'm doing this, spread the word. The more people I volunteer, the more I can draw.

I think I'm outta steam
Posted a year agoSorry guys, I don't think I can finish Airborne August. Just got a new job. I took it as far as I could but I got a bunch of stuff on my plate, so I may have to bow out.
Still Working on it!
Posted a year agoI know I held a thing a while ago for turning volunteers into floating helium cows. I AM still working on it. I haven't forgotten, don't worry. It's very complicated with a lot of layers for everyone, so I'm plugging away slowly at it. I may have some projects I put out in the meantime that were easier and faster to put out. Do not worry, I will get it out. Probably around September. But yes, I am working on it. If I put some stuff out before then, don't worry. Those were just side projects to help keep my sanity while I work on this massive project.
Still time for free art.
Posted a year agoStill time to be turned into a helium cow-girl. Check out my journal here for more info:

Free art-if you’re UP for it.
Posted a year agoBeen considering doing a pic for a while, and I think I’m ready to do it. Will likely aid me a couple months, so it’s not going to be timely. I want it to be a big finale to my ‘Suddenly, floating cowgirls’ series. I want to make one big pic with as many floating cowgirls in the sky as I can do.
If you wouldn’t mind having one of your characters turned into a floating cowgirl, let me know by posting a comment below. If you could, link a pic to your character (even if I’ve drawn that character before, sometimes I forget) or a detailed description. Also, if you have any major limitations (like you don’t like nudity and still want to be wearing clothes or whatever.).
The magical effect/curse/blessing that is cow-girl-ifying everyone is getting indiscriminate! It doesn’t matter what your character’s initial biology is, you can get turned into a helium-milk producing, floating cowgirl.

Anyone up for an art trade?
Posted a year agoI have a few ideas of pics I'd like to see in other people's styles, and I'm also looking to experiment and change things up. Anyone out there looking to do an art trade?
Art Raffle Results
Posted a year agoSo after a month of mulling it over, I think I'm going to give the winner of the free art raffle to
Sarah_Fair1215 who wants their friend's OC inflated from eating helium-infused food. Should be fun. Look for it in April.

Posted a year agoSo someone pointed out I haven't done one of these in a while. So I'm making a pic for March, but halfway through, I'll choose a person and make a free single pic for them in April.
The rules are as follows:
1) You can request a single picture HERE, reply to this journal.
2) One request per person, if you request more than once, all requests will be disqualified.
3) The pic is for one character in a relatively simple situation. If you request 30 characters doing something super complicated, you will be disqualified. I do want SOME situation though. "My character doing whatever you want," doesn't get the creative juices flowing.
4) If you want me to draw a specific fursona, and it's yours, provide an image in your request (link to it) If you don't have an image, please describe them well enough for me to draw. If you want me to draw someone else's fursona, have THEM message ME so that I know it is okay with them to use their character in the way you want to see it used.
5) I'll try to announce the winner on March 15th.

Free Christmas Art Raffle
Posted 2 years agoYou know what time it is, comment in this journal down below if you want your character to be turned into an inflatable reindeer to help pull . . . or at least lift, Santa's Sleigh. Just post a pic of the chraracter you want me to draw, and be advised they will be inflated and 'reindeer-ified' I'll take the ones I like the best and draw them into a pic for December. Probably about four characters, so let me know.
Oh, and all the standard rules apply for my raffles . . . no copywritten characters (no pokemon or mario recolors) one entry per person.

Commissions and Trades
Posted 2 years agoHey all, Just an update, still no work, so if anyone wants to throw some commissions my way, I'd love to be able to do them. Last commission I had fell through so I could use a few just to help me with bills and stuff. I have enough to go a few months more, but having some money so I'm not always doing bargin-bin grocery shopping is nice.
Also, I have one Trade slot open. I'd love to do a trade where someone draws the new dark-skinned pink-haired mystery girl I drew here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/54091050/
It's not going to be first come first serve, I'd like to weigh my options.
Anyway, October pic is doing well, and I've got an idea for a November pic, so look forward to that. As always, have a good time.

Free October Pics?
Posted 2 years agoWell, I realize I haven't done one of these in a while, so here we go again. I'm willing to draw a few (maybe three?) avatars attending a Halloween party for October. Get your entries in because I'm going to close the journal on October 10. The rules are pretty simple. Reply to THIS journal with a link to a picture of your avatar (or a very detailed description if you do not have a pic) and a request for what you want your Haloween costume to be. I'll choose the three best I like on Oct. 10th and draw them at a Haloween party. I may include more if I get the chance or maybe put in some as background characters.
The Rules:
1) Your costume must contain either a reference to something inflatable, or one inflatable element. It could be anything that is relevant to a character. So if you want to be mario, maybe you are holding an inflatable fireflower. Just make sure it is relevant to the character. Mario holding a balloon Orca whale? Not really relevant.
2) One entry per person
3) Like I said, reply HERE with a PICTURE (or very detailed description) and a Costume idea. If you don't do all three things, I won't consider your entry. Even if I've drawn your character before, send me a pic, I may have forgotten which character belongs to which person.
4) No copywritten characters for the base avatar. If you want to dress up as Mario fine, if you are a pokemon dressing up as Mario, not fine. I don't draw copy-written characters (I'm cutting it close with costumes as is.)
5) Your character must be wearing clothes . . . I'm not drawing super elicit nudes in this pic.
6) You can make requests about what your character is doing, but i won't guarantee it will happen. If you have an absolute DO NOT DO list, put it out in your comment. For example, if your avatar is in a committed relationship, you could say "Don't have them hitting on any other character." or whatever.

Pathfinder 2e inflation material, yay or nay?
Posted 2 years agoSo I have a deal with a publisher where I can make 3rd party Pathfinder 2e content and get it published at Drive Thru RPG. Now, I could (if I wanted) write up some inflation stuff for Pathfinder 2e and probably get them to publish it. Inflation spells, inflation bloodlines, an inflation curse, new Kineticist impulses . . . the whole nine yards. The thing is, it would take me quite a lot of time and energy to make, time and energy I could be putting into finding a job or just writing more mundane content to be published. So before I do this, I NEED to know if anyone will buy it? Is anyone interested in inflation stuff for Pathfinder 2e?
Not Dead
Posted 2 years agoJust to keep everyone updated. I'm surprisingly busy for a guy without a job.
Things on my to-do list:
1) I am writing some 3rd party material for pathfinder 2e to be published (sorry, nothing inflation related). There's not deadline but I'm pushing myself to get it done this week. I'm done writing all the adventure stuff, now I just need to generate the statblocks and do editing (ugh, so much editing) before handing it over to my publisher.
2) Still looking for a job. I've given myself a bit of vacation to cool down and find myself after I got fired, but money's running out so I've resolved to try and apply to one place every day from now on.
3) Commissions galore!
-I have a writing commission for
2chaotic that's about half done, then editing (ugh)
-I also have a comic commission for
turanic that is about half done. That's gonna take a while, comics always do.
-I then have a FOUR page comic from someone over on Deviantart, and that's gonna take forever too.
4) I am going to try and still do one piece of art that's something I want every month. I have this month's sketched up, but will I get it finished in time?

Still could use some commissions.
Posted 2 years agoStill looking for a job. Got published in a little thing, working on another publication, but in the meantime, love to do some more commissions if people will have me. Keeps me productive.
Could use some help-Lost my job.
Posted 2 years agoSo, i didn't want to make this post, but, I recently lost my job, which means I lost my healthcare coverage and a bunch of other stuff. I don't want to get into it, I'm not fully blameless but the group I left was entirely unprofessional about it. Anyway, I'm not in emergency mode or anything, I have accrued quite a decent nest-egg for just such an occasion, enough to get me through a few months at least. But being over 40 means places like McDonalds and Target just won't consider hiring you at all. So I'm looking for jobs but it is slow going.
All that is to say, i could use some commissions thrown my way if anyone out there is looking for something. I'm not trying to guilt trip people into sending me some, but without a job, well, the turnaround time should probably be about a week tops.
I'm not looking for handouts. I don't need anyone to throw money at me. I don't like operating like that, but if you have a few ideas of some pics you'd like to see, why not send them my way? I could use the extra cash to extend what I have until I can find gainful employment again.
Just shoot me a note and we'll see if we can't work something out.

Free art, one more volunteer needed!
Posted 2 years agoNeed one more person to be okay with being Moo-cow-ified for the three part series I'm doing. The final pic will be of this final character being transformed into a floating cow-girl in a comic sequence. Preferably the character you put forward is female and not a child.

Still room for free art
Posted 2 years agoI'm going to do a three-part free art thing where I will be drawing some deviantartists as inflatable cow-girls (or getting cow-girl ified and inflating.) I still have room for a few more volunteers. Let me know if you are interested.
If you want in, please read the information about the free art found in THIS journal and respond to it. Ignore the old DnD OGL debate: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10454599/

Had a literal dream of a new RPG
Posted 2 years agoSo I went to sleep while looking at Reaper Mini's free-to-play RPG which is just a watered down DnD 3.5 game (Found here if interested: it only takes players to level 3) but as I was drifting off to sleep I actually dreamed of a Truly universal role-play system, or TURS.
The idea behind it was that you had very large categories of things, and then everything was a subcategory of it. So like for races/ancestries, there was, like, the 'humanoid' group. And there were certain things that every humanoid could get, but you also had sub-groups like Orc, Human, Elf, Dwarf, or Gnome.
Then there was the 'Furry' group, and subcategories like Mamal, Feathery, Scaly, etc. Basically there was no, say, Kobold Race. Instead you could say "I wanna be a humanoid dragon' and that would be fine, but you got roughly the same power level of abilities as, say, a human or a Dwarf, and you would be under the Scaly category (or Feathery if you wanted to make a feather dragon . . . whatever)
An Undead group with subcategories like Skeleton, Zombie, Vampire, specter, etc.
Classes worked similarly, where there were maybe about four classes, but each had their own subclass.
So for Warrior, you could subclass into Knight, Sellsword, Samurai, etc.
For Striker you could have Rogue, Monk, Ranger, etc
For Spellcaster you could pick Wizard, Druid, Cleric, Psychic, etc.
And then Battlecaster, which would have some magic, and some ability to fight, but not as good as either, like Magus, Bard, Warlock, etc.
And then as you leveled up, you could choose new abilities based on your class. For example, Warriors might be able to pick up 'minor magic' which would let them cast a few spells (less than a batttlecaster or a spellcaster)
Anyway, I thought it was a fun idea. Let me know what you think.

Lackluster Response, still chance for free art
Posted 2 years agoWas kinda underwhelmed by the lackluster response to my free sketch offer, only one person responded. Congrats
Scaven234 You win a free sketch and I'll be doing a female archer next time I paint. Scaven: Contact me to tell me what you'd like to see. For future reference I'll probably just do a poll on Deviantart as that my get more responses.
Also, remember, if you want your character floating cow-girl-ified FOR FREE respond to this journal.

I've expanded the project to three pieces of art over the course of three months, so get in those submissions, even if you don't get in for the first month, you might get in for the second or third.

Expanding on free art March, PLUS FREE SKETCH!?
Posted 2 years agoSo I'm working away at that grindstone. I have a large commission I've got to finish, not to mention January and February's free art picture (I have them skeched out already, January's is almost done) The commission has been rough-skethed an accepted and now I'm on to beginning linework.
So I have an idea to expand my free March art idea into a three-picture series (March-April-May) all about people turning into helium-milk producing cowgirls! So I'm going to need a lot more volunteers to be cow-girlified. So if you have a character you'd like to see as a cow-girl, let me know by responding to this journal here: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10454599/ Again, I'm going to need a lot more than the three I originally thought of so let me know if you are interested. Double check the existing rules in that journal for how you are supposed to post.
Lastly: I continue doing miniature painting Thursday. The painting time the FLGS has for set aside has been cut down to two hours, so I may usually can only get one mini done in that time. I have a BUNCH of minis that remain unpainted, so I'd like to open a poll for what mini you want to see painted next. As a bonus, for participating in the poll, I'll enter each person who votes in a drawing to get a free sketch from me (one character, minimal background, just a sketch).
So most of my minis are just fantasy dudes with swords and stuff, EXTREMELY few furries in my collection that I haven't painted, so between the following, comment below on your vote for what you'd like to see me paint next (voting ends Wednesday Morning, painting is on Thursday and I have to prime the mini first!) If you have some suggestions (weilding an axe, weilding a shield, weilding a polearm, dual weilding, let me know and I will TRY to find a mini that fits the description, no guarantee though.)
Voting Choices (if you have specific requests, let me know in your reply, i.e. female barbarian with an axe or male elf wizard.)
1) Some sort of Barbarian (Let me know male/female)
2) Some sort of Knight/Fighter (Let me know male/female)
3) Some sort of cloth spellcaster/wizard/sorcerer (let me know male/female)
4) Some sort of 'battle caster' (Magus/Cleric/Warlock) (Let me know male/female)
5) Some sort of sneaky rogue ruffian (Let me know male/female)
6) Some sort of Martial Artist/Monk (Let me know male/female)
7) A furry! C'mon, we know you have at least one in the back! (No male/female on this one, it's whatever I can find to paint, warning, may be a scaley or feathery or something else)

March free art and DnD drama
Posted 3 years agoSo first of all, thanks to all who looked at my call to action journal and did what they could. Because of the DnD community calling wizards out on their BS, WoTC (the company that owns DnD) dropped the draconian Terms of their 'new OGL' though now they are in the process of lying and gaslighting the community so it isn't over by a longshot. Because of DnD's inability to own up their mistakes, they are instead just burning their own house down. But at least now a vast amount of content creators are safe and can continue to y'know . . . use their talents to buy food and pay rent. So that's good.
On to more fun news! I have a fun idea for my free March pic! I haven't done some floating cow-girls in a while, so if anyone has a female character and they wouldn't mind seeing them inflated, floating, and cow-girl-ified, I'd love to have a few subjects. There are three spots available, so even if you see a few others respond here, you can throw your hat in the ring too!
The rules are pretty simple:
1) 1 entry per account.
2) Don't submit a copywritten character (or character from an established IP, like a pokemon, even if you recolored it)
3) Post your entry in a reply to this journal here.
4) Provide a link to a picture of the character (or a VERY thourogh text description.) If the picture has multiple characters in it MAKE SURE TO TELL ME WHICH ONE TO USE!
5) Be okay with me turning the character into a floaty, inflated cow-girl
6) you need to be fine with the character being depicted as female. I'm sorry, I just like the female form inflated more than the male (or nonbinary) form. I have plenty of pics with inflated males, but this one is going to be girls only. If your character is normally M/Nonbinary/whatever, that's fine, but you need to be okay with them being presented as female in this pic (don't worry, I'll use their preferred pronouns.)
Lastly, this is not first come first serve, it is 'which characters work for composition and who do I want to draw here." I'll pick which characters I like somewhere around mid-February.

CALL TO ACTION, PLEASE READ!
Posted 3 years agoSo . . . I've never written a call to action before. Not sure how to do this.
With the new Hasbro 'update' to the OGL, we are looking at, worst case scenario, a collapse of the entire tabletop RPG market. A little backstory:
The OGL, which came out over 20 years ago, came out when Wizards of the Coast made DnD 3rd edition. And, it basically saved the RPG market. It allowed anyone (and I am quoting, IN PERPETUITY) to use their gaming system to make content, as long as they didn't use DnD specific monsters like Githyanki or Beholders, or use DnD specific settings like Baldur's Gate. If you used the gaming system and made generic monsters (giants and dragons and mummies), and made your own fantasy land, you were in the clear. You could make up your own monsters too.
What happened was an explosion of tabletop RPGs Suddenly people were allowed to make content for DnD and publish it and make money. Far more stories and scenarios than Wizards of the Coast (later bought by Hasbro) could have made at the time. There was so much new content. And it brought in a whole lot of new people who maybe weren't interested in DnD, but were interested in . . ..say . . . a 1800s gothic adventure using the same rules, or a 1600s pirate game. Or even wilder fantasy settings . . . and all those people buying new content bought at least the DnD core rule books.
When DnD came out with 4th edition, they kept the OGL, but said it didn't apply to 4th edition and . . . well, there is a reason 4th edition is considered the worst out there. When you throttle what can be made, you limit not only how much content you can make, but also the ideas. So DnD went back to the OGL when they revamped for 5th edition.
Backstory out of the way, Hasbro has leaked the new version of their 'udpdated OGL' and it basically pulls the rug out from under anyone publishing under the OGL. Anyone publishing under the system (that makes $750,000 or more) has to give A QUARTER of their profits over to Hasbro. No company is going to survive that. Not Paizo, not no one. But that's not all. At any time, for any reason, they can choose any company and say 'you don't get to publish anymore, destroy all your stuff, oh and by the way, we can publish all your stuff under our own name from now on.'
Now, I'm not a lawyer, I don't know how any of this is going to shake out. Maybe there will be some backroom deals to keep companies afloat, but it is a REAL dick move by Hasbro. The accounting department is basically killing off ANYONE publishing under their titles. So Critical Role? Gone. Your favorite DnD podcast that came out with somecontent? Gone. Any Youtuber that has published content? Gone.
Look, the issue is not that they aren't letting us profit off of them. The issue is that they said it was okay for TWENTY YEARS. People have built ENTIRE gaming companies off of this license that they thought was set in stone, and now Hasbro is not just trying to take their ball and go home, but STEAL EVERYONE ELSE'S BALL TOO!
I'm calling for a loud and active, vocal boycott of DnD until their accounting department get it into their head that this is not okay. Don't buy ANYTHING DnD branded. Don't go to the movie. Don't buy Nozlaur's Marvelous Miniatures, don't give Hasbro a single cent. And most of all, post your displeasure on Facebook, Twitter, and whatever other social media you have. See if that higher ups to reverse course.
If you want to explore some other RPGs out there in the mean time:
-The FATE system is a setting agnostic RPG (meaning you can play in whatever setting you want, including medieval fantasy.)
-BESM is setting agnostic and, though it's meant for anime-style games, you can do whatever you want with it.
-Savage worlds is also setting agnostic and you can do whatever you want with it
-Sentinels of the Multiverse RPG is a superhero RPG that's super fun and, while technically a superhero game, you could EASILY modify it for any setting you wanted.

December Delay
Posted 3 years agoSorry folks, I didn't get to finishing up my December pic this year. I have an early flight tomorrow and I just didn't get everything done what with packing and finishing up end-of-year works stuff and everything. Anyway, I'm going on vacation I'll by away from my computer for almost two weeks. I will bring my laptop which has Sai loaded onto it, so there is a small chance I'll be able to finish it while on vacation, but my laptop doesn't have photoshop so I will have a tough time resizing it. So slight chance I'll be able to upload while I'm down there, but don't hold your breath. Maybe if I have time I can download GIMP and use that to resize my file to something managable, but I'm not familiar with GIMP so . . . who knows.
