I have a major project due this Thursday for my studio class and I may not have enough time to finish all that is due. If anyone local could stop by Wednesday night/Thursday morning to help me out that would be great!

Last Wednesday, my Olds Cutlass finally died...on the way to an interview at a firm I have wanted to work at for the past year..stranded, cold, and upset I was worried I may have lost out on one of the best career opportunities and it really set me into a deep depression. Plus I have no car!

Something broke off inside the engine, whether it be a piston, a piece of the crank shaft...its uncertain. I took it to two different mechanics and they both said the engine was seized up and only way to find out would be to take it apart. Only way to fix it would be to replace the engine..my 1998 Olds had 213,000 miles on it and looked like hell..it wouldn't be worth it to fix. Most of you have seen that car and marveled how I was still able to get around in it..so now its official

So this past week and a half I have been taking the bus from home to Baltimore..a 3 hour trip (tour :-P) there are plans on getting a Subaru Legacy this week if all goes well.

So now to the job..I was able to reschedule, I was so excited..and nervous! I didn't have a portfolio and spent a few sleepless nights creating one. But this past Wednesday I had my interview and..

I GOT THE JOB!!

It's at the leading historic preservation firm in Baltimore, located in a beautiful old refurbished bank, and the people are awesome. They have wanted me to work with them ever since thy saw my researching skills on the Old Power Plant project for school. It's a paid internship as of now, but if they have been wanting me for the past year...unless I screw up big I can't imagine they wouldn't keep me on after I graduate.

So stressful, got kinda shitty..but overall things are looking really awesome as of now for the K-Dawg :-D

Well it's that time again...the obligatory "I will be practically absent" time since school has started yet again. It actually started a week ago, but I am just now getting a chance to write this.

I want to thank everyone who wished me a speedy recovery..I'm not sure what I got, but it had to have been the flu or a really bad head cold. I was real lucky I was able to relax and get over it without stressing out. Currently, I think I am completely over it, although my voice is still very raspy..perhaps since I was unable to speak for almost an entire week.

I will be taking 3 classes instead of 4 this semester, and on top of that I do not want to go through the same hell as last semester. I want to try and enjoy life a bit more, so although busy..I still want to try and be social as best I can..but we will see.

The real fun is at the end of the semester..we all have a CDR(?) test we all need to pass in order to continue in grad school. We basically have to show we are competent in our studies. Guess when the date this test takes place is?!...my BIRTHDAY! OMG, of all the days D8!!! So I may be stressing a lot more towards April, we will see.

I am in the airport now waiting at my gate. Words cannot describe how relaxing and fun this trip was. All I got to do, those I got to see..my friends in Orlando and surrounding area and tiime to recoup at home...I'm feeling sad I have to move on and go back to uncertainty in Maryland.

I am hoping to see some people back home and hope this semester will be better than the last one. I need a professional job by this summer so working on my portfolio and resume is paramount.

It's weird going home to a local mall shooting and weather in the teens from the simple day to day at my moms in 80 F weather.

Seems I caught a nasty bug. I had to reschedule my flight for next Sunday. So I get to spend an extra week in Florida, but it will be to just get over this cold/flu I have. Either way I am not feeling good at all, so hopefully I will feel better soon.

Getting packed and ready to go to head down to Florida for Winter Break to see my mom. It's the only time of the year I get to see her. This year will be cool though since my aunt, uncle, and grandmother will also be there...basically my entire family. Usually they all head to Texas to my Aunt's house, leaving me with just my mom and step dad, but this year they will be at my grandmothers place. Not gonna lie, it will be stressful since my whole family has a screw loose (I'm the normal one), but still will be nice to see them.

I will be heading out of Dulles airport at 11am, flying to Chicago (which is stupid) for an hour layover, then down to sunny old Fort Misery..I mean Myers :-P After New Years I will be heading to Orlando for probably a week before heading back down to Fort Myers then flying back to Maryland January 18th. I am bringing Kellogg with me, so hopefully I can get some good photo op's while there.

I most likely won't have internet, but I will have my phone on me. So please text, I guarantee I will get bored down there. I want to try and maybe plan a get together/party while I'm in O-town, so anyone who wants to see me, plan for that.

As of yesterday my semester was officially...finally...over!!! From now until the 22nd, I am free to do WHATEVER and WHENEVER I want to :D

December 22nd until January 18th I will be in sunny Florida visiting my mom in Fort Myers. Hopefully after New Years I will be in the Orlando area and will SO WANT to see everyone again!!

This semester kicked my ass! Literally all four months was 24/7 homework and schoolwork stress. The amount of stress and turmoil is something I seriously never want to go through again. My body just cannot take that amount of pressure anymore and frankly I am not looking forward to next semester at all. If I were younger, I'd quit..but I'm not, so I have to continue to the bitter end.

One good thing is I will only have 12 credit hours next semester instead of 15. The normal/doable amount of credits in Graduate school are 9...so yeah, practically killed myself this time.

But the nightmare is over, and I slept last night like a newly pardoned inmate..It felt so good not having anything to stress over once I woke up.

Now I just need to get my grades :-P

PS - If anyone would like to come visit me, please do...I'm totally jonesing for some physical interaction with my friends

This ENTIRE semester has been nothing but school work 24/7..I literally want to quit school or cry due to all the stress of not having ONE GOD DAMN MINUTE of time devoid of some stress relating to school shit..so at this point I have gone WAY past the breaking point and just want to have at least one an ounce of pure, unadulterated fun. With that, I have three drawings due (section, site plan, and elevation) on top of a take home quiz, a PowerPoint presentation, research on other projects, all tonight..Those drawings alone usually take 5-10 hours each (drawing, thinking, inking, stressing). So from 10pm when I get out of my last class, I have to try my damnedest to get everything done. I will most likely be working until 6am straight, to where I will have enough time to drive back home..to then get in the car and drive/ride for 13 hours to Chicago.

But wait there's more!!!

I am having to do all this tonight, since I won't be in class tomorrow when it's due. There will be a new assignment given on Thursday which will be due by Monday. So basically during the con I will need to be doing homework..lots of it..what it is I don't even know yet.

So Sunday, Motor and I will need to leave the con by about noon, drive to his folks farm in Indiana with enough time to spend the night, then wake up real early and get home to Maryland (5pm) with just enough time for me to hop in my car and drive directly to school to this dumbass studio class (by 6pm) with the homework given over the weekend done, inked, and ready to present.

So although fun..I still won't be completely free of this school bullshit

I miss hanging out with people and being able to do stuff outside of school. I spend entire days in studio and barely even see my house much anymore. On top of that, everyday there is extremely stressful. I have to take mandatory lazy breaks just to not completely get burned out. Once I get my Bachelors, I think I am going to taper down on courses. A typical grad student takes 9 credit hours for full time...I'm taking 15 :-/

I miss everyone, I miss socializing outside of my classmates, getting fuzzy and just being a goofball. I wish people would text me just to see how I'm doing..I know I can be busy, but just getting a text from someone really makes me feel better..makes me feel less forgotten

In other news, I will be going to Florida after the semester is over to see my mom. If all goes well, I will also be making a trip to Orlando sometime after New Years to see all my Florida friends.

For Thanksgiving I have plans to be with some friends, I look forward to just being in others company, and a home cooked Thanks meal again. It sucks when everyone else goes to their families for that and I just sit at home alone watching TV. So this will be a really fun time.

I am extremely lonely, like all the time nowadays...Nobody listens to anything I say at school, like I'm invisible..my work is suffering since there just isn't enough time to finish everything and franly I stopped caring about trying to make stuff look good. Everyone is just going through the motions, and as long as it passes, that's all that matters. So being there is a drag..come home and my roommate at least helps with keeping me sane. Overall, I think this school is slowly breaking my spirit. I can't wait for it to be over.

I try not to make emo-like posts anymore..but I'm kind of sick of holding this all in. Nobody around here really is good at listening to my problems, or even cares too, so I have to keep things that bother me to myself. I don't expect much by typing this out either, but at least I have a way of just getting it out of my head.

So its been two weeks..WTF?! School is rough..they weren't kidding when they said I wouldn't have a life. Unfortunately I don't see myself being able to hang out much at all during the semester. This weekend alone I have to draw at least 12 different elevations and site diagrams all fitting on 11X17 sheets of paper, 3-1,000 word essays, an excel sheet, and enough statics homework (think a class of Geometry mixed with Physics) to choke a horse! All this due by Monday..Not to mention the 3 days I had spent this week building a model. I was lucky to have gotten over 5 hours complete sleep in those 3 days. The attendance policy went from uber lax to ultra Nazi strict...If a student is late by 5 minutes twice..then they failed the class...Holy hell! And I have seen this enacted too..I was late by 5 minutes once...so yeah, no more tardy time for me.

So if you don't see me, hear from me..don't worry..I'm not ignoring anyone, I'm just the schools bitch from now until December with no free time

In other news, I have been without a phone since mid August..if anyone has texted me and didn't get a reply during that time, that is why. So tomorrow I will actually break down and buy a GOOD phone..one with a contract! I have been avoiding those like the plague since my very first cell phone who screwed me on the policy. But I realize these throw away prepaid phones are costing almost as much as a good phone, so might as well just go that route. So tomorrow, I should be able to be contacted again.

Well, in 10 minutes I technically start my summer term. This will essentially finish out all my undergraduate requirements so that by the Fall term I will officially, 100% be a graduate student.

I am taking two classes, both online only (which saves me on gas) for 5 weeks..LOTS of stuff to do packed into a shoooooooort ass timeframe.

In other news, my roomie will be heading to Europe for 10 days, leaving on Wednesday..I will have the house to myself for those 10 days :-P What crazyness might ensue? Maybe nothing..maybe EVERYTHING!!!111 8D

I also will need to take the writing proficiency test this summer..graduation requirement, and apparently really hard to take. I will be taking that June 6th

No, I'm not getting married! :p I found out yesterday that I will in fact be getting my Bachelors degree next year at this time if all goes well :-D For those not in the know, I am technically going into my senior year in college, BUT I was accepted into what is known as the "3+2 Program" Meaning that my last year of undergrad (aka my senior year) will actually become my first year of graduate school. Overall I get a Masters within 5 years instead of 6..but I was under the impression that I would be bypassing the BA for the Masters...so I am really glad I will still be getting it.

Now I just have to get my family to attend the ceremony next year, I have a very strong feeling that's not going to happen

Got back from Kansas City last night. Was a fun weekend overall Went to a shareholders meeting in Omaha, over 40,000 people were there...it was crazy!

For the trip rundown, here is what my roomie, me, and his friend did: (mostly written down so I will remember hehe)

Friday - Flew into Kansas City, MO
- Freaking cold..was 30 F and we just missed a snow storm
- rented tiny little car (it was so tiny!)
- Rental car guy kept complaining about how Obama sucks and "the damn 4% tax hike"
- drove directly to Iowa to stay in a Super 8, was my first time seeing Iowa..was a combination of New Jersey and Delaware :-P
- walked around neighboring Omaha, Neb..our hotel was across the Missourah Rivah
- Walked across a large, curved, suspension bridge that crossed the Nebraska/Iowa border(that was cool AND cold :-P )
- Historic Omaha was really nice, got to slide down this awesome slide while there and see a bunch of cool antique stores. One reaked of cat pee and was voted "Omaha's best" which I thought was funny. Also, apparently concrete and Nebraska does not mix..everything that was made of it was under construction
- Ate at "Fusion" ..or "O" as the receipt said..had a fancy fountain which I liked
- Went to Iowa Walmart...O-M-G! Never saw so many broken faced people, the Derp was strong with them!
- Slept on a cot in hotel

Saturday - Omaha Nebraska
- Checked out of Super 8, and went to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting..so many people
- Got my picture with the Geico Gecko (and had to keep my paws to myself hehe)
- Walked around Omaha some more
- Drove back to Kansas, Missouri and stayed in a fancy, ultra modern hotel called "Aloft" I liked it A-Lot
- Slept on a crappy kids air bed on the floor, felt like the dog I am :-P

Sunday - Kansas City, MO
- Made it a point to tell my roomie and his friend they need to eat BBQ and try "Burnt Ends" a local food thing to eat
- Ate at Fiorella's and had tasty, tasty burnt ends and cheesy corn
- Missouri still lives up to the state with the best food in the country to me :-D
- Went to the art museum there and really enjoyed it
- Had to race back to airport, return tiny car, and get on plane
- Roomies friend got so annoying he literally gave me a migraine, so plane ride back I luckily took some meds
- Got back to Wash D.C, dropped off friend, then got back home around midnight

And there you have it, my weekend :-P

This semester I have been working with a group of 7 people trying to reporpose and old steam plant on campus. I was the historic researcher put in charge of finding stuff..anything on this building. I ate, slept, and lived this building..I even went to Manhattan to do some research on it.

All that paid off today at our final presentation in front of a few people. I was told that my historical overview was "better than any movie today" So I am pretty stoked :-D

As a gift to myself, I am having a commission done by  AMWULF I always liked his style and y'all will see some nice smutty goodness on the collie's page soon enough :-P

I will be out of state this weekend, going to mark off 2 more states in my goal of seeing all 50 states

Other than that, I have noticed that when the stress of a project and school work are finally over...I get reeeeally horny O.o

Thanks to all those who wished me a happy birthday. Was a good day. Hung out with some peeps and had dinner at Olive Garden. Highlight was going moonlight kayaking yesterday with a bunch of really good friends.

My good friend  Drakien drove me out to Fur-the-more today to give him some moral support for his panel on volunteering and to also see what this con was all about. I had to work both Friday and Saturday, so I wasn't able to attend those days. We get to the hotel and it seemed pretty dead..granted 9am on a Sunday at a con is usually a ghost town :-P He had some good attendance at the panel, and I was in Kellogg being all cute and fuzzy. I think he did a great job. Afterwards, we walked around. That hotel seems to go on forever. It was a little dated in its decor, but overall I was actually impressed with the fact it had some eating places within the hotel itself, plus was near some nice restaurants and shopping within walking distance. As the day weng on, more and more people were walking around. I actually got to see some good friends, some of which I hadn't seen in some time, and other cool peeps I met for the first time. From 10am until 1pm I was in Kellogg, after that a group of us went to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, that place was nummy :-3 We got back to the hotel and we mingled some more until Drakien and I headed back home at 6pm.

Overall, even though it was short, I had a good time and wish I would have been able to go earlier. The amount of people for a first time was quite amazing to me, and since I like smaller cons anyways, this definitely had a nice close-knit feel I like.

So, tomorrow I am going to have to present in front of a room full of clients, funders for the project, electricians, other architects, plumbers, you name it...to sell the work me and 6 others have been working on to restore and repurpose an old building we have on campus.

I have been the one doing the historical research on this place.

I have looked through Atlas', Sanborn Maps, yearbooks, deeds, photograph collections, etc etc finding all I can between working and schooling about a building that has hardly any documentation on it, for the past 200+ years. I have deeds going back to 1799. All this cause our building is supposedly the oldest mill in the city, and the last remaining building on campus from before 1917. Thing is...I found out it ISN'T. So my research has completely turned everything else on its head..and I have to start the meeting tomorrow...telling people who all their lives thought this was a 200+ yr building, it isn't!!

As you can imagine...I am very nervous, but very excited about telling everyone what I found.

After this, I am done with school..Spring Break next week. I will still be working, so it won't be complete "free time" but after class tomorrow, I'm going to try to make my vacay as stress free and awesome as possible.

Well, Kevin Spacey's "House of Cards" premiered on Netflix today and upon watching I found that in Episode 8 of Season 1, I am in fact in it :-D Only briefly, but I'm there :-P

I was in a scene as an extra a few months back. Not 100% yet if they kept the scene, but if there is a commencement ceremony for Kevin Spacey's character getting a library named after him..then I am in the crowd. I was 5 rows from the stage in center isle..and I got to see the "Spaceter" up close. Was real fun, and I am really excited to see if they kept the scene. BTW, ironically enough, there was a character named General Kellogg..it's like they knew :-P
