A-Kon reminder....
General | Posted 16 years agoI will not personally be attending A-Kon this year. However, my friends will have a table and you can pick up a commission done by me from them.
What I need
1) Your name or badge name. This is so we can make sure we get the right pictures to the right people. (Also see below about adult material)
2) Your email address, or some reasonable way for me to contact you if I need to. (Phone #, physical address, whatever)
3) A description of what you want and/or reference material.
What it Costs
All commissions are done on 11"x17" heavy weight paper.
* $20 - One B&W character (inked)
* $40 - One color character (traditional -- markers & pencil mix)
* $10 - for each additional character in the drawing, max 3 characters per drawing.
What I will do
* Furrys/Anthros are okay (obviously)
* Anime and even fan arts are okay.
* Tasteful nudes are okay.
What I will NOT do
* Pornography
* Anything else that I feel uncomfortable drawing; if your not sure, ask.
If you request anything that cannot be sold to a minor, I will have my friends check a valid government issued photo ID. You must be at least 18 or there will be NO DEAL! Additionally, these types of requests require that I get your real name.
You may pick up your commission at the Happy Grackle table.
Payment Methods
* PayPal
* In person at the con
I will post updates to my DA/FA pages with the status of the various commissions I receive.

Busy!
General | Posted 16 years agoBeen super busy as of late working on software for my company. Fortunately we've managed to release the consumer version of it and I'm trying to get the final bits of our enterprise version finished up.
Hopefully once that is all taken care of I can put more full force behind my comic.
For those who might be curious (and I have been asked on balade's weekly web cast), the product is SurErase for wiping out hard drive data for people who want to make sure their tax records and other sensitive information is delete before they donate (or even throw away) that old PC of theirs.

Thank You
General | Posted 16 years agoSorry that tonight's comic will be running late but I am working on it! I want to thank everyone for watching and I hope you enjoy the comic and the art!
Damn You Stomach!!!!
General | Posted 16 years agoSo, I got nailed by yet another stomach virus, which I think puts me up to 3 this year alone..... I went to the doctor yesterday and he had to give me two shots of medication to calm my poor tummy down. Said medicine knocked me out for a good 24 hours, so now I'm behind on normal work AND my comic which might get delayed.
Sorry for the hold up folks....

Anthrocon and Delta Airlines
General | Posted 16 years agoOr lack there of....
So I got to the airport Thursday morning to fly out to Pittsburgh for the con, I had about 40 minutes to an hour before my flight. While I was standing inline to get my boarding pass, one of the Delta people told me to move to another line, which I did, this occurred a couple of times, and by the time I was able to get to the self check in computer, it wouldn't let me print a boarding pass; the luggage area of the plane was locked up (it had done so 2 minutes prior).
I was then directed to stand in (the original) line that I had been standing in when I first arrived, by the time I got to the counter, I had completely missed my flight. Delta then said all of their seats were filled except for first class; which I obviously couldn't begin afford. They then told me to call orbitz, which I did....
After a couple of attempts to call the orbitz people, I got ahold of a lady who (presumably) called Delta, and then came back and told me that I could get on standby for the 12 o'clock flight. When I inquired about this at the Delta counter, they gave me an odd look and said "we haven't done standby in over 4 years...." The only available flight would have left Friday, at the same time, and they wanted $800.00 for it!
Needless to say, I couldn't afford this either; so I wound up skipping this year's AC. Fortunately I was able to get a discount for my next flight to some place, so it wasn't a total waist of money, but its still aggravating! So take aways from this year:
- Don't book a flight where by you have to be at the airport by 3am. This is especially true if you can't think straight that early in the morning.
- Don't use Delta, use another airline that's friendlier about moving you to another flight if you miss yours for whatever reason.
- Leave the day BEFORE the con, not the day OF the con....
That having been said, here's my somewhat tentative plan for next year's cons:
- Furry Fiesta | Feb 19-21 | Dallas, TX
- A-Kon* | June 4-6 | Dallas, TX
- Califur* | June 4-6 | Irvine, CA
- Anthrocon | July 1-4? | Pittsburgh, PA
* A-Kon and Califur are on the same dates, and I realize this. Given how the AA at A-Kon has been restructured, I don't know if I'll be able to get a table, if I even decide I want one. Either way, its a distinct possibility that I will go to Califur in lieu of A-Kon. We'll see which way my mood swings on that one.

Anthrocon
General | Posted 16 years agoI must be crazy, but I have plans to attend this year's Anthrocon. While I have enough to cover the basic costs of getting there, eating, lodging and such, I'd like to have a bit extra for spending. As such, I'm going to attempt to take some commissions to generate a bit of extra revenue. I will not be taking commissions at the con itself as I do not have a table.
That being said here are the details:
- An inked B&W will be $40 + $5 each additional character.
- A colored piece will be $60 + $10 each additional character.
If you are also attending Anthrocon you can pick your piece up from me at the con; however, I may have to ask for payment before the con to avoid any problems with AC and the Pennsylvania state government's taxes.
If you will NOT be at AC, then I can mail the completed piece to you; the cost of doing so is about $8 via USPS; this includes delivery confirmation so you can track the package.

Commissions and 2009 Cons
General | Posted 16 years agoWell work is progressing on this one uber commission that I was asked to do last year. After this my backlog for commissions should be MUCH lower. (I think I'm down to 2 now....) This is going to be the last time I take a commission home; after this point I shall be trying to direct my attention to working on a comic I've been wanting to do for some time now.
As for A-Kon, I will have a table this year, though given how things have been handled, I might not be returning for 2010's A-Kon. I have some tentative plans to go to Anthrocon this year. I will not have a table, however, if I like it I will return in 2010 with a table.
We shall see how things develop.
