Books...
Posted 12 months agoAnna came back from San Antonio last Friday, final load of 'things' from the Westlyn house. Among the things she dug up, 18 bankers boxes of hard bound books and four dell boxes of paperback books. Where the hell are we going to put them? Tomorrow? we drop by the book store so she can get her latest Janet Evonavich book, number 31.

All the work...
Posted a year agoAll the work we writers and you artist put into characters and stories in nothing more than imagination. Yet it is imagination that keeps us dreaming, isn't it?

Ah ikt is comming...
Posted a year agoToday is July 28th... On the 29th I turn 73. Darn I'm getting old.
We are here
Posted a year agoAt least half the critical stuff is still in San Antonio having been forgotten by the movers (they wouldn't even touch my swords, even the obvious fake ones because 'they are weapons.' Still we made it safety, funny thing is nearly everyone we have spoken to have said '102 S. Panama? There is nothing there!' Okay, I haven't built the SAM site yet so calm down everyone and the neighbors are real quiet (cemetery) 'cept for that dame 'convenience store' across the street.
Unpacking, SO FAR ONLY ONE BOOKSHELF WAS DESTROYED BY THE MOVERS BUT WE SHALL SURVIVE!
New keyboard, damn capslock.

I will be off-line starting Sunday...
Posted a year agoThey are coming to move the furniture Monday, which includes this komp-u-ter...
So we are moving...
Posted a year agoTo Madisonville, 102 S. Panama Street to be exact. Half an acre, only house on that side of the street... Main (US 190) on one side, grave yards on two other sides, dog grooming (101) across the street. We order a pizza, they try to deliver to 103 S. Panama... Goobers.
At least the neighbors are real quiet. Real REAL quiet.
One load up, at least seventeen to go.

We did it...
Posted a year agoWe made a deal on a house, final papers will be signed on the 31st. Truthfully I don't think we can finish packing this barn up by then. Moving 3 1/2 hours North-North-East, Madansonville (or something like that.) Between Austin & Houston.
Wife came back
Posted a year agoFrom Madinsonville yesterday with some interesting news. She had gone up in order to attend a memorial service for her niece, while there her sister announced that she and her husband are going to float a loan so we can move up there. Cathy and her husband are well off, lets just say she moved from Granolaland (California) and bought the house, plus five acres that she live on now, IN CASH!
So Anna is bouncing off the walls knowing that in two-three months she is getting out of Gangland and moving to hicksville, there isn't even an HEB in thirty miles. Problem is, the only house we both like is 100% electric, in a state that shuts down the electric grid about a week every winter. Looks like we will be installing a 5000 gallon propane tank in the back yard. Yep, propane and propane accessory's as Mr. Hill puts it. But getting out of San Antonio is a major plus, at 72 I feel the need for Speeeedd....

A Blast from the past...
Posted a year agoI received an e-mail from one Carl Cravens yesterday asking; "Are you the Reese D'Orrycott who wrote for Clockwork Hero in the early 90's?" I answered yes, just yes, nothing more. Today another e-mail arrived stating why he was tracking down Clockwork Heros contributors. By the way, Clockwork Heros was an APA written by various Hero Games Superhero players. That was in the 1990's.
Anyway, he wanted to ask permission to compile and publish to the web a book holding everything, no money involved, but his copies had been stored in a hot garage and well, if you have ever stored photocopies in a hot environment you know what happens. euuu... I just told him whatever floats his boat, I'm 72, that was thirty plus years ago and considering I have over eight published books available money was no longer that important to me.
Gee, and here I was hoping it was someone like Spielberg or Lucas wanting to make a movie and I was in for big bucks. I wish him well with his project but hey, Lucas, It isn't Possible is up for movie sale, as long as I have nothing to do with the movie that is. Take the money and run.
Huge singing pink fluffy bunnies (as Asimov once said) no thanks.
Thirty plus years, Damn, I need to cover my tracks better.

End of an Era
Posted 2 years agoMy mother passed away this morning. Now I am the oldest member of the family.
Yeah the Bank just robbed me.
Posted 2 years agoUSAA, I went in had took out $40 for personal use, $20 in $2 bills and $20 in 50cent pieces, they deducted $400 from my account and hit me for over a hundred in short fees, because I only had $248 in my account. "Oh, our fault, we'll get it back to your in 5-10 business days." I'd love to sue them but they are the biggest bank in over 800 miles.
Bastards.

Universal Life Church...
Posted 2 years ago...Sent me a message last week, "Are there any witches in your neighborhood?"
I replied "Yeah, at least one. Me."
They never replied.
Come on people, you ask a question at least be polite enough to respond to the answer.

You Tube
Posted 2 years agoAnyone notice that oh, Monday? You-Tube blanked out every video demanding that 1: you stop using an ad-blocker or 2: pay 14.99 a month for ad free access... Then today around noon those blocks abruptly vanished?
I hate ads, I'd rather pay for than live through 15 minute ads (or worse, 1 hour paid ads hawking say My Pillow.) So in was just downloading the videos that I normally watch (all six of them) then deleting the thing, a bit of a hassle but it was working. Terms of service my bloody arse.
No new news on mother other than she is driving EVERYONE around her nutz, and Anna, who is the only person that can control her, is out of town this weekend. Thank Athena, Anna needs the break.
Blessed Be all.

End of an Era
Posted 2 years agoPlease accept my advanced apologies for what may occur in the next few days...
My mother was given 48-72 hours of life left this afternoon. She is in her 90's and though the end of those hourly phone calls will be a relief, the lack of her presence will b a great loss.
Blessed be
Reese

Posted 2 years agoTo me. Yes, I'm 72 today, including my white hair.
Fredrik is ALIVE!!!
Posted 2 years agoYes, Mr. Andersson sent a message this afternoon, what a rush.
Sigh, we've lost...
Posted 2 years agoMore and more creators, not just in the anthro community. This week we lost Incompetent Camera Minion Eddy, known only to those who follow the y-tuber The Mighty Jingles... He was diagnosed with intestinal cancer three weeks ago and passed on very recently. At least he went fast, a kinder, more mellow chap I've never known before. Then on Storysonline,.net we lost Starfleet Carl, his works are really not that sexual though the site tends to be. His 'Love never changes' is a wonderful rewriting of the Fallout Four universe, he was posting the last chapters of his revamped Superboy work when the grimm reaper passed his door, his son is finishing posting the last chapters of FIVE books in that storyverse. I can only guess what his next work was going to be like, he mentioned zombies.
Then there was Quagmire, a nutty and sometimes off kilter artist. Sometimes? I'll leave that to you.
My own mother, at 95, is kicking the Reapers door, Goddess knows how long she has because she is hallucinating and awful lot lately. And myself? In 72 of the 29th, I wouldn't lay odds on me seeing cold weather again though if I live as long as mother I have some twenty years left but I don't want to live it as she is. I fell Monday morning and took out a second wooden chair in the bedroom, all I remember is the sound of splintering wood.
Not that I am well liked in any community.
Best to you all.

oh... it is 105 F here right now, 40.5 C. I think my monitor is melting, or my eyes. One or the other.
