I may be out of reach for a long time, I might have occasional internet access, I'm not sure, but in either case, don't expect to hear much of me or see much of me online in the near future.

While I have tried to help my 90 year old parents, I simply can not stand my bipolar, control freak of a mother any longer and I have no alternative living arrangements at this time. This means I'll be either be (unlikely) finding space in the only men's shelter downtown or I'll be living outdoors somewhere.

Either way, I can no longer stay here for my own physical and mental well being.

And Twitter support is all "There's nothing to see here! There's nothing wrong! You can't prove anything!"

Pretty sure it's 100% automated, so I can't do anything about it.

Thought I should have something 'newer' on my journal list and also cleaned out a lot of old stuff.

I regret to inform you that John AKA Zazin AKA Nizzi died today.

I keep wishing it was just some really stupid cruel joke but the sad reality is it's true. Right now the police are still trying to contact his family but we believe we've helped track down some one who knows his parents.

I will be posting future journals for those who knew him to advise of what ever arrangements are made for the Funeral and I'm sure those of us here in Ottawa who knew him will hold an official wake. Those of you who know me IRL if you want to know more (and don't know already) feel free to just call me or text me and I'll call you to let you know the details of what happened if you knew him. Right now Cerberus, his dog is in the care of a good friend of his and he will be well looked after as there are plenty of people willing to watch over him.

Been tossing about the idea for getting some sort of custom geo tag/coin done up that I can hand out at conventions. Given the production timeline there's no way to get any done in time for FE (Besides I can't afford it that soon).

The only thing is, I'm having trouble thinking up what I'd really like for a design. Given the cost involved (Roughly $450-$2000 for 250 tags/coins with coins being in the $1000+ range for 100 or more) I'd want the design to really be something special.

I'll probably stick with the cheaper tag option though given that I suspect most people wouldn't log em or pass em on. But you can still get a bunch of tags fairly cheap and have them look really nice. In the end I'd still have to work with an artist to get a design made since I seriously can't draw that well. Also has to be something that's G Rated and all that.

Always open to suggestions but I suppose right now I'm mostly trying to think of what folk really associate with me. Other than booze and fursuits :P

Hey since I found out they recently started discontinuing the Nerf Vulcan (There's still some in stores mind you) I was wondering if anyone out there had any spare ammo belts they'd be willing to part with at an actual reasonable price?

The prices on E-bay are totally out the ass retarded with people wanting 4-20x the cost of the whole gun brand new (or like 220 for a used gun when you can still find them in stores new for 44 or so)

Anyway willing to pay a few bucks + shipping if the shipping isn't insane too. Seen a few where the belts were reasonably priced but then people are trying to sneak in $30-50 for shipping.

Well that was a surprise: Khannos aka Astray aka Starfinder etc
So anyone who's read the related journals know of my... frustration over a particular expensive commission, especially in light of the fact that I allowed the sum for what had been actually an auction AND a separate commission be combined together for the result of the auction itself, despite having had won the auction prior to making the offer in question.

Anyway, all that shit aside, she did actually after considerable delay finish the piece in question.

And I'm also happy with the way it turned out.

I'm still not happy about the situation, how it came about, the lack of communication the completely ignored emails and right out lengths I had to go to actually FORCE a response from some one who had taken my money.

But it's done, it's over with and I'm content to say I was given my money's worth.

I won't lie in that I won't ever hire her again, or recommend anyone have any dealings with her. But I will say that she did at least eventually give what was owed and settled upon and call it done and squared off with what was owed.

And I'll even go so far as to admit, that for an artist not used to doing sci-fi inspired armour, she did a good job in my opinion and if you don't agree, well what ever. I'm content with it fair and square.

So ya....

As an update on the whole injury thing I'm just starting to do normal pushups once more. I'm able to do about 5-6 before having to stop due to the shoulder and strength has returned in most of my arm/shoulder. There's a few last muscle groups that need some more work and the torn tendon has almost healed up so that's the good news!

The bad news is that I got drunk last night and puked in your left shoe before getting hungry again and chewing up your right shoe before getting the dog in trouble for it.

So ya, for those that don't know about 3 weeks ago I badly injured my AC ligaments in my shoulder, supposedly even possibly almost tore it. Thing was at the time it was initially assessed it was deemed just a very bad sprain but got worse over the following week.

'Fortunately' it was a work injury so the WSIB is paying for the physiotherapy and the good news is, according to my therapist I've almost regained full mobility in my shoulder again and am apparently making a rather quick recovery. Most of the swelling has gone down (Though even going on 3 weeks it's still present) and the majority of the resting state pain is gone too.A nyway hopefully end of next month I'll be good as new, Shit is driving me nuts at work though. Right now I'm not allowed to lift anything with my left arm that's more than 5lbs and even then no higher than the elbow. Probably won't be allowed to lift anything to shoulder or above head level for a few more weeks.





I really have to learn to stop crossing my own path.

So just got a call few hours ago from the Recruitment Center. While my applications are still on file for Ammo tech, Weapons tech and Transport, there are extremely few openings in the upcoming year and they were hoping to still hire me on even if it was in a different capacity. So now I have an interview in a few weeks for an updated medical, interview and some new trades related test to see if I'm suitable to become an ACISS (Army Com specialist) as they are having a big push to fill those roles and hey it's actually similar to some work I've done in the past (As well as the sort of thing I went to school for).

That said seems they lost my college transcripts so I've arranged for new copies to be sent to them and they should have it before the week is out if all goes well.

Beyond that I won't hear anything for at least a few months going by what they've told me so we shall see how it all turns out.

It's always so close to, or overlaps my birthday :D

It's a bit further away this year than previous years but hey. I'm not the type that usually bothers with things like birthday parties and such but hell a convention is an awesome way to meet new people and a grand excuse to to just live things up for a few days on top of the whole 'I survived another year' thing. I'm hoping to meet and get to know new folk this year though lord knows there are so many folk I know going (Since it's a pretty close to home Convention) that I'm not too concerned and it does mean I get to hang out with a bunch of my friends.

Also I expect many snuggles.

So ya been slowly going through the lots of soap I bought from them. After shipping and Import it works out to about $7-8 a bar that lasts approximately 3 weeks. So that works out to approximately 18 bars of soap a year give or take which would run me about $144 a year. Honestly? Totally worth it.

Scents Tried so far:
Sex Panther: Ummm.. murrr?? No seriously I love this soap and to me at least it lives up to it's name. It's a very subtle scent but smells soooooooo good. Bit weak smelling though and honestly wish it was as strong as their scent marker version seem to be.

Wild Coyote: Ehhh. Doesn't smell bad exactly but to my personal sense of smell, it's kinda earthy/mushroomy with a VERY strong smell. The soap once used even just the first time flooded the bathroom and hallway with it's scent for pretty much the entire time the soap was on the shelf. Again not a bad smell but not one that I personally could say I actually like. That said it's not a smell I mind at all.

Absinthe: Not bad, kinda 'zesty'? Definitely has a very sharp scent. Another strong smelling soap again that fills most of the bathroom/hallway since I've started using it. Still not a favourite (That spot goes to Sex Panther for soooo many reasons) but definitely one I'd say after a bit of use that I like.

Neutrality: Ehhhh kinda neutral about this one :P (Good for work though where they don't want scents)

Rich Lime: OMG WANT TO EAT SOAP. I like lime, I like lemon too actually but this is about lime. I doubt however it would taste as good as it smells. Still an absolutely delicious smelling soap. The bar I have at least is on the strong smelling side but definitely goes into the favourites.


Soaps not yet tried:
Got a bunch I'll list here in a bit and I'll update the journal with my thoughts once I've tried the various soaps/samples I have atm.


Additional Notes:
One neat little thing I've found is that as their soap lathers extremely nicely it doubles amazingly well as shampoo. I mean sure way back in the olden days soap was pretty much soap but these days with specific roles etc. Anyway I've actually stopped buying shampoo entirely and taken to just using the bar soap as it doesn't take much and seems to have had the added bonus of seriously cutting down on dandruff issues I'd been having.

Caffeinated Soap actually working?
Honestly I've not noticed a difference. Sure Caffeine is water soluble but the absorption rate through the skin is, at least going by all research I can find quite minimal. Not even the strength of a cup of coffee, making it more or less a marketing gimmick. Don't care though, it's absolutely amazing soap worth the money.

So ya, while back I'd said fuck it and ordered a mixed bag of 6 soaps from  contact though I picked the scents based on what either sounded just fun or interesting.

As most of you know I seriously dig the Sex Panther soap. Honestly? I'd ordered it JUST For the name, I mean come on my fursona is a panther, how could I not?! But GOD DAMN I love the smell of that soap. Other one was Rich Lime. I like lime and lemon so that was a pretty safe bet and that sure as fuck didn't disappoint, I think I'm going to make it my default soap to use when fursuiting.

Annnway skipping over all that after falling so hard core for the sex panther and lime soaps I just had to order more, but they also offer these 'scent markers'. So hey ordered one of the lime and one of the sex panther.

Doesn't smell like the soap really. MUCH stronger.

So right. As anyone who actually cared to read my AC journals before would know I wound up rooming with  dexraccoon his mate Fawx and  reyndog. Funny thing is though the arragnements were effectively random and last minute (Initially  tundru was suppose to go but wound up not being able to due to the army) it turned out that Dex and Fawx actually knew Reyndog. To boot Fawx, Reyndog and I all had suits made by  firestormsix and his crew. Pretty nifty on the whole and they were hands down some of the best con room mates I've had to date. Reyndog was also sort of fun to mess with since he turned out to be our room's 'token straight guy' who had to insist that his suit wasn't 'adorable' or 'cute' but rather 'the bawsl'. This of course lead us to tease him a great deal (or well me anyway) about how much a straight guy loved 'the balls'. He took it well though and I hope at least much fun was had all 'round.

I got to meet a bunch of new folk as well as others I'd talked to online but never actually met in person, make a few new friends, hit up some fun room parties, catch up with a bunch of folk I'd not seen in several years and otherwise spend most of my time actually somewhat overwhelmed. As a result if I seemed to have ignored anyone, I apologize as that was not my intention at all. I simply got over run at some points by just how many folk I wanted to at least try and say hello to before they poofed and I didn't see them again. (Also a few folk caught me heading back to my hotel room to desuit and it was a reasonably long walk from the Westin to the Double Tree) Only real downside turned out to be that it seems the cleaning lady thought throwing out my paintbrush and paint was a good idea. That rather annoyed me to say the least and I can't help but wonder why the hell they thought that was a good idea in the first place. Damned expensive container of paint and it was far from empty, and I mean who the hell doesn't know what a paint brush looks like?
