According to the news recently reported January 21, 2015, the law has been passed by the local government that all DotA games (League of Legends, HoN, DotA and DotA 2) are banned in all internet cafes on Barangay Salawag in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Because of that, one of the young players died after excessive playing of League of Legends. Also last year, an enraged LoL player murdered an opponent in other town.

The result motivates the Barangay district that, according to officials and parents, DotA games (even other video games) cause high-school students, elementary students and other youngsters to be "undeniably" bad-influenced by the following: to reject from studying in schools, to spend the whole night playing and being absent from classes, to take advantage of their school allowance like money for computer games, to cause family disgraces, and to cause video game gambling and violence.

Parents and residences of the district support the new law passed by local government.

Translated statement from the Barangay official as a proof of the "resolution":
"Dear countrymen, we will be pushing on with this town resolution because we believe this is the right thing to do for the children who are often seen causing trouble, cussing, cutting classes, gambling, staying up late, fighting, and ignoring their studies. We love the children and we will not allow their future to be ruined. Thank you for your support and understanding. "

In short, installing DOTA games in internet cafe, for the locals, are considered illegal.

This satisfies parents, internet shop owners, and olders to gain discipline and education on part of the Philippines in order to develop children's habits in studying without slacking off.

VIOLATIONS
1st offence: suspend from opening the shop for 2 months
2nd offence: close the internet shop
3rd offense: take business clearance away

My reaction:
That order in the district is INCREDIBLY STUPID. Anyone in the world has League of Legends and Defense of the Ancients 1 and 2 in homes and cybercafes. People and gamers (even expert LoL players of the Philippines) disagree with this statement that only the internet-cafe owners have the right to put the rules: "Do not enter during class hours", etc, etc. It is Internet shop owner's fault for not putting up the rules. The death of the player doesn't mean anyone, it means only himself. Why should they ban them? Do they own internet cafes? If they ban DOTA, they should also ban drugs, cigarettes, premarital sex and other well-known illegal products and actions?...and what about other games like Facebook games, Borderlands 2, Dead Space 3, Skyrim, Dark Souls 2, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty Black Ops, Grand Theft Auto V, etc? Talking about totalitarianism.

Oh, the local news and the written law did not recognize that "DotA" is not actually DotA, it's League of Legends (LoL)

I just came from the hospital to remove the bulge grown on my left eye beside its eyebrow at left side. It took about 30 minutes of surgical operation, it was a really painful removal even if the anasthethics were used to null the pain.

After the surgery, my left eye is still okay. The doctor said that it was not a cyst. It was only an enlargement of a gland where yellowish-watery fluid is encapsulated, and it was not dangerous. The skin where there area was open is stitched, so it will take a week of healing.

I've completed the 1st draft of the PC indie game, "Shock Dragoon's Mission" since December 2013, as a game-making exam in college ^^
The programming language is C, and the game making program is GameEditor

limitations:
- not compatible with Mac or Linux, only Windows
- no jumps yet
- enter/spacebar key does not work in the game mode, follow the keys on the start screen
- no techniques yet
- because it's just a beta test game . XP

bugs

- when switch to left or right movement too suddenly, it's next animation sprite is skipped (shows floating stand pose), and it is almost impossible to be fixed.
- when you find that the character jumps off the screen, tell me
- the logical fire-while-walking sprite isn't yet to be implemented with normal walking

- if you press "z" on the main menu, you'll notice the bullet from the right of the screen. There's no wall collision for bullets yet.

In our last semester of computer science course, they offer a very interesting subject in the course: Game Design and Development :D

I've been planning to create a new and free MegaMan X game, a fan-made game using 16-bit graphics, animation, sounds and sprites. That's what I've always dreamed of making that old Capcom game. However, it will not be easy because it requires skills in making of gameplay, concept, story (I already have made one http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10342100 XD), plot, controls, and player's expectation. On the start, I should work on pixelart and animation. Example, I've created Shock Dragoon's idle stance (My new but temporary avatar )

There are problems in working on old-school games (It should be an installed PC game, not a ROM for emulator...they don't have that lesson. X3). First is sprite characters. It takes a long time for a single pixel artist to complete the Maverick enemies, bosses, sub-bosses, and final boss. Another thing is the obstacles such as explosions, debrises, weapons and special techniques.

Eight bosses and two final bosses are mentioned in the profile page (PART 1 only)

Second is the background, it also takes much time to add foreground and background.

Third is the BGM. The music should be original to this new game, not take any original soundtrack from Capcom (copyright infringement). Since my brother, Paulo Javier B. Gener the musician and composer, is gone, i need someone within the school to make a 16-bit music with digi-techno, rave, and electronic genre. The voice-actor is either optional or required.

Fourth is the storywriting and dialogue. The game should have its interesting whenever it is important for gamers to know exactly how it flows toward the conflict.

Last is the program implementation, installation, and creation of executable game. Maybe I should work on Game Editor using my programming skills. It is an indie fan-made game with special thanks to Capcom for inspiration and few sprite-borrowing...heh XP

Concept of main character will be: Shock Dragoon has the combination of X and Zero's role. He uses acquired weapons and Zero's techniques separately. There are navigation keys and seven more keys: weapon-attack button, technique-attack button, jump, dash, change weapon left and right, and giga attack.
Limitations are: Shock cannot chargeweapons because of technique included.

Laserblade should be added as Shock's companion. The game will include switch-roles during the gameplay. Laserblade uses a laser weapon to fire in any of 8 directions (He can charge it to become thicker and more powerful). He also uses a slashing technique (charging it causes to powerfully rotate himself with self-defense wing blades) He can fly like Gradius. The player can fly anywhere with navigation keys, and have three more keys: laser-attack button, slash-attack button, and giga attack.
Limitations are: he can't receive weapons and techniques.

When the game is completed, it will unlock Slash Velociraptor (Shock's elder brother), thus switching the protagonist and antagonist role.

My brother died in the hospital, age 34

The doctors and nurses were not able to stop the asthma attack when they drained the mucous stuck on his lungs after the opening on his neck. He was unable to breath through oxygen tube. His body has lost the oxygen level, so he slowed down and passed away.

Because there are no witnesses so we cannot figure out the true cause of his impact, and we cannot trace the suspect. The evidence is that his money, P15,000 php from his payday, was stolen; his bag strap was snapped; his leg was fractured and his head was blown. The reasoning is theorized.
We cannot clearly know if he was riding a motorcycle or taxi. His head was blown by a driver who stole his money, except the smartphone, debit cards and other school supplies.

His death rapidly spread throughout my university. Almost every faculty members and students and families were terribly shocked by the disaster. Most of them cried over the body in the coffin.

The funeral will be held this Tuesday November 19.

Paulo Javier B. Gener was one of the best Information Studies teachers on my university. He started his teaching since 2009 after his graduation from the same univeristy. Participated in almost every activities in the community within and outside the campus, volunteered in the recovery from Washi tragedy since 2011, taught his students very well in organized, comprehensive, punctual and industrious manner.
He was a great artist and graphic designer as he had drawn traditional art in spare time, but had created in-school posters, brochures, placards, streams and I.D. layout. He was a good musician as he composed songs for the activities, sang with choir, and played some instruments. He was also a good in programming using Java, Android mobile programming, website-making, PHP scripting, etc. He was, finally, the film-maker when he created short movies in his likeness and for other activities.
He was honored by the members of the community for his achievement, even the president. He did his best as a teacher, artist, musician, programmer, web developer and contributor.
As for me, since 2010, he spared me a cash to pay tuition fees, entrance fees, lunch meal, and entertainment. He helped me with studies with his knowledge, and he encourage me to study, participate and answer well in every subject. We were in the univeristy for 4 years and 7 semesters. Since the last

Since the early morning of 1st November 2013, Poloy, 34, was in the ICU of Maria Reyna Xavier University Hospital suffering from critical injuries resulting from a vehicular accident.

"Born in 29th March 1979, he graduated from Xavier University with a BS in Computer Science in 2007. As a member of the University community, he contributed much to the work of Campus Ministries, KKP, FFP, and most recently, as an Instructor of the Information Systems Department, College of Computer Studies and as Graphic Designer and Illustrator of the University Communications Office. Poloy was also an active member of the XU Chapel Yahweh Choir. He created cover and layout designs for XU Press, and was a prime mover in the production of the Crusader Yearbook as its moderator these past years. He was a hardworking co-worker and a loyal friend not just to his colleagues, but also to many of us in the XU Community.

...because he met a horrific motorcycle accident.

Paulo Javier B. Gener, the long-time employee and professor of information studies in our university. He aids me to attend and enroll the said school for 4 years.

Friday, November 1, 2013 on around 3:00 AM, he fetched a ride on a motorcycle to ride home after work in late night (paid fare), but suddenly he fell down from the seat due to his sleepiness. His head is suffered with violent blows on the ground, his foot fractured and his face is partially scarred. His left hemisphere of the brain is damaged with blood clot.

From the witnesses of the early morning, they said that the unknown motorcycle driver, who is fine, departed the scene and left him behind like an innocent man.

He was rushed to the hospital. I and my father met terrible conditions to save my brother. I was crying during the medical procedure as it was my first time experiencing a pain with my sibling.

The school was shocked after the news is spread through Facebook, text messages, and phone calls.

We spent about P100,000 php for medical services such as open-brain surgery, skin treatment, oxygen giving, AB+ blood donation and foot strapping, etc.
The surgery was successful, so he was delivered to the recovery room for more treatments and for rest in long time until he is conscious.

My brother's school friends, faculty members, his students, and his closest friends need his help to donate and give support. One of his friends, with condolences, gave a blood donor fees, since there was not enough donor.

My mother and sister and her daughter will arrive home from the capital city Manila.

I spend my time remaining in the hospital to look after my older brother for few days.

It was unfortunate that I lost my wallet when I was using my laptop while watching the college basketball tournament in the gymnasium, cheering at our winning team may have consequences: the excitement causes forgetfulness. Especially the soccer ball tournament, more forgetfulness happened.
Trying to remember where it was, I only know that last reveal of my wallet is in the gymnasium.

Our beloved brown german shepherd, died of unknown disease
(but only symptoms we saw were unable to eat, frequent nausea, mild seizures and fainting)

He was immediately taken to vet for several treatments, but they were unable to identify what illness he has, and they couldn't cure his failing stomach. Lycan died in the 9th morning of July 30th.

He was a kind dog, who loves to play with me and my family. He guarded our home with his might to fend off strangers and to slightly alarm our visitors until getting to know. And he befriended with other dogs outside. He was an agile mouse-catcher, which he gets rid of pests around the house.
