Back in here?
Posted 9 years agoI apologize for being dead on the vines for 5 months, but some hectic stuff has been going on, and some of it isn't that uplifting, but I am still striving.
I now have a 21" CINTIQ to use and a better PC that goes with it. Been using my spare time to set up shop and sell Hardware, but will return here because I want to draw something.
I will upload something new these upcoming days or weeks. Also; open to commissions once again.

Concerning Copyrighted Franchise Characters...
Posted 9 years agoHello, before I move on and keep promoting commission work, I would like to leave my stance towards copyrighted characters very clear.
As very few of you may know, I used to be
and
in this website. Back in the day I would draw a lot of Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, and Klonoa content, with eventual commission-taking featuring these characters,
While I feel there was some sort of progress, I somehow feel ashamed now for doing such works. Shows a lack of originality, or at least that I feel inside of me.
I also started feeling dislike and disgust for me, and any self-proclaimed artist who makes money out of copyrighted characters neither such artists nor their commissioners own and have the right to depict.
There are capable, striving artists trying to make a living out of their dreams of being illustrators, and these cheap bastards draw Sonic porn and laugh all the way to the bank. It's unfair.
What is terrible as well is that once you deviate from the copyrighted bandwagon or want to start clean as a slate with your ideas, you get less exposure, by a factor of at least 5 to 1 on Favourites, Pageviews and Watches.
I would like to point out that what they are doing is NOT Fair Use, since there's commercial trade involved. Now, though, what is the difference between such commissions and commissions from someone who wants me to draw their characters? Read above once again, that commissioner OWNS the character, and has control over how they want their characters to be depicted.
Now, going back to my past, and to also explain my future: I will upload all of my past works, only for the sake of showing you new visitors my progress so far as an artist in the furry fandom, and that's because there is a sort of evolution, albeit a very slow one. It will appear on Scraps as "The Lost Archives".
However, I WILL NOT take commissions from anyone who wants copyrighted characters from any franchises at all. May I draw some of that stuff as leisure? Sure thing, it will be confined to Scraps though.
With all that said, I am wrapping this up. Feel free to leave a comment on this journal if you want to discuss. However, no matter how bashful my comments are regarding those artists I mentioned above, I will NOT tolerate any destructive comments on this journal at all, and will raise any abuse to the corresponding moderators if anything. Freedom of speech != flaming.
Regards,
Kevin
