Car Help/Advice
Posted 10 years agoHello folks,
I'm just asking for some advice out there... my car has finally "done its thing", and the transmission has died in it, albeit 14784 miles before hitting my goal of 300K miles on it. It does have some issue with the CV joint, but I'm fair sure the internals in the transmission are quite shot, although I won't have that confirmed until I start getting into it and seeing what's what. Despite what's going on with the CV, that shouldn't be causing the car to be stuck in gear the way it is (unless somebody out there's run into this scenario?).
So, for those of you who watch me who happen to be local, I wonder if anybody knows good places to get a used transmission (with some warranty) around the area, or a site online I could be checking out. It's that point I have to figure out what sort of route I want to go here, either replace that and the CVs and do some other work I was meaning to do anyway and roll on from there, or look for another similar car in good-looking condition with a bad motor and toss my motor in it, since it's still running strong at 285K. If I go the transmission route, I'm looking to put the semi-rare limited-slip differential transmission in it instead of the one I have. They are probably more prevalent in Canada than here in the US, givens standards are more plentiful up there.. but either way, I'd like to find one.
Thanks for any information you may have, and hope you are staying dry wherever you are (wetter than all get out here at the moment).
*dragony hugs*
Those of you asking... car's a 97 Altima with the not limited-slip differential 5 speed, although if the transmission has shot synchros and possibly other parts, I'd like to upgrade to the limited-slip RS5F50V.

Call Your Mother
Posted 12 years agoHello everyone,
I would like to speak to each of you that watch me and may read my journals. As is the case with many, perhaps even most furries or dragons that I know, this large section of the populous of folks that I have met online have little to no relation with their families. I hear tales all the time about family who abuse alcohol or drugs or just are hateful people, or folks have their own lifestyles that "uppity" family members do not approve of. You may not get to choose your family, but you are an addition of them and in the case of parents, made from them. This day in age, it is a waning existence throughout society (especially in America) in general. Don't let this life and those who should be of importance to you slip away without content moments to remember them by. Those of faith as myself, understand we shall see family and friends again in the life after this one, but from where we are sitting here and now, we lack that access to those who we have lost.
If you have someone you haven't talked to in ages, or have a beef with someone, I would suggest you do anything in your power to contact them, express the love you have for them, and I'd pray they do the same in return, and any bitterness either you have for them, or they have for you... as difficult as it may be, try to sit down and talk about those difficult and painful things, see if there is any way to come to a resolution over it. I know some things are large issues to folks who hold grudges against each other, but many times, they are petty things that keep people apart. It is a sad thing. Try to forgive others for the painful past; perhaps they are sitting alone emotionally beating themselves up over how they treated you... perhaps they need to close that painful part of life and continue on with something better, a chance to be in good relations again. If it is their resentment toward you for your own actions, talk about it... try to explain your side of things, perhaps it is a chance to investigate your own life and live better, but at least if you had spoken ill to them for their resentment, that you can forgive their resentment, but perhaps in time they can love you for you. It takes time, it takes effort, but most of all, it takes communication. I ask everybody to consider doing that in their lives with those they have lost emotionally before they lose them physically.
As a few pawful of you know, I have recently been reminded that life can be utterly unpredictable, and what you thing shall "always" be or far into the future can be very near. Time is not forgiving nor does it wait for anything; progression of the state of things occurs no matter how ready you are or not for it. I spent the last 3 weeks going from having a mom that I did not speak to near often enough to one that I now longer have. She had a knot inside her that was starting to get painful, she attended the doctor about it, he referred her to a specialist to investigate it. She got constantly nauseated and had to cancel the doctor and go into the hospital on 9/27. Tests were run and by the 3rd, we discovered she had terminal liver cancer, and was sent home the next Saturday and put on Hospice with a 3 to 6 month survival estimate. I thought.. wow... this is not good, but we have time, and sometimes ppl get told this and live for years, perhaps we can beat this thing. Mom has the awneryness that runs in her side of the family, she isn't going to let this get her easily. She awoke the next Mon very groggily and "out of it", but started to improve after being awake for a bit. But by midday, she was back asleep. She attempted to awaken twice, but otherwise never awoke, although she would make facial responses to things she could hear us saying in the room. That went on through the week, and she passed away on the 11th, and buried yesterday, the 15th. Just 3 weeks from reasonably healthy to laying in a plot in a small town of just over 500 people... You just never know folks... if you are like me, and did not talk to your family but once every month or so, and physically see them even less often than that, you find yourself sitting there quietly, wishing you could have done more than you did. Don't let that happen to you... it is easy to thing we have "plenty of time" to be with others, or life just keeps us busy; it is a lesson learned later that time is not always going to grant the time we THINK we shall have to right our wrongs, spend time with loved ones, or do what things in life are TRULY important.
Take this for what you shall... but I hope folks out there give their lives a thought. All too often, life is eaten up with unimportant and shallow things, while deeper things are left to wash ashore unattended. So often, I see folks substituting relationships for Facebook contact, texting, or other electronic means... but it is no real trade for being there with them, doing things together, feeling a warm hug together. All I can say is, get out there and talk to those you love, or those who you HAD loved, but love has waned through the years due to bitterness and resentment.
I pray everyone well..

E PLURIBUS UNUMPLOYED
Posted 12 years agoHey folks,
Well, looks like we are on a government shutdown, although I would a bit like to see Congress go a few weeks without pay/benefits. I'm curious what y'all think of this; I am a bit on the fence about this thing.
We do need to be cutting back on government and spending, and this is one way to do it, but definitely not a permanent solution. Of course, it is supposedly just a republican action against Obama's ACA (Affordable Care Act), but I personally feel there's a lot more going on. Due to this shutdown and ACA, I would not be surprised if you see unemployment hitting 25% by February; now this is TRUE unemployment, and not the figures you will see advertised in the media, which is normally half of the true amount, so 12-13% is what the media will show.
My fears:
Corporations will be looking to lay off a good portion of full-time employees and either:
A> Rid of x% of full-time jobs and then repost those same jobs at part time (under 29.5 hrs)
B> Rid of x% of full-time jobs and push that x% of work off on already overworked other employees that will remain on the staff, especially places where people work under salary rather than hourly pay, so that they can force those persons to work 60-70 hrs/wk and only have to pay them for 40, which is kind of like getting 2 people for the price of 1.
C> Less money-making portions of the company will be sold off or phased out in order to mitigate cost of benefits that the ACA presses onto the employers
Regarding the government shutdown, if this thing goes for any length of time, especially >30 days, I think we will be seeing a lot of people seeking other jobs, if they can find them, although with Jan coming near, part time is likely all they shall find, but once the government does reopen, a lot of people will have quit, and they will have the option to rehire folks via part time, or simply do as the corporations do (since most government workers are salary), take the workload from those that quit and pass that work onto fellow still-on-the-books salaried employees, forcing more hours of work on them for, of course, no extra pay other than whatever extra costs to the agency by the ACA.
I think we need to decrease the size of government, and thus shave the workload need by folks working for various agencies, and thus, less employees and less money spent... but both government and corporate sides of the fence forcing employees to work long hours because they are salary and they can get extra free work out of them is just... wrong, and not viable if we were to have a society of people who were not stressed to hell.
Things are going downhill in a quick amount of time... Canada is starting to look good, eh?

Money Talks... (and we know what walks)
Posted 12 years agoI was doing some research where which to obtain Canadian pennies as since they have been quit being made, and was looking for folks up north to call and just happened upon this. An indicator, apparently through the IMF of gold holdings per each nation by year in USD.
http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/FI.RES.TOTL.CD
China's has almost doubled since '08, and has more than anyone, although considering their population, it shouldn't be the greatest surprise. The US's has fallen to almost 1/4 of what it was from '11 to '12, and Greece's did similar (and we all know what kind of shape they are in). Japan's holding's at half of China's (and still a hell of a lot more than the US), I would have to say is the nation with the most reserve holdings per population capita, which seems of all the fiat currencies, perhaps theirs has more true value, but then again... how many zillions of ¥en have they printed? The downfall we are sinking into by creating more and more bonds in order to print more and more of those lucious crispy greens. Not the slap-your-grandma-good down-home Southern soul food greens either; these will make you sick if there's too much of it.
If you take a look at http://www.usdebtclock.org/ and go to the "World Debt Clocks" link at the top, you'll see Japan is doing a lot better than us in regard to external debt vs GDP as opposed to the US, although their public debt vs GDP is horrendous. It would appear that overall, China, Russia, and Saudi are the big 3 players with economic strength, 2 nations which we could be looking at going into butted heads with quite nicely if the Prez seeks to fulfill this Syria business to its utter stupidity. Based on a comment of his yesterday, he would intend to go to Syria whether or not Congress would approve it and polls that show that only about 7% of the nation wants it (shows where his head is at). The fact they intend this to be a quick 60-90 day ordeal tells me something fishy is about to hit the fan, because most of our recent conflicts have taken years, not a short couple of months, and with rumors of nukes having been transported around the country yesterday, you start to wonder what the hell is going on behind the curtain. If you're wearing pants right now, you might want to hold onto them; if not, well... kick back and enjoy the show in comfort.

100 Years of Bad Money
Posted 12 years ago You see on the streets lately folks having rallies for Treyvon regarding that ordeal, even as unfortunate as it was. But, when it comes to real issues, nothing like that happens, mainly because there are no organizational leaders to start such a thing. That being the case, we need freeform organizations that seek to get people fired up about issues that truly matter in this country which affect us all.
The Federal Reserve was started 100 years ago in '13 on Christmas Eve Eve, and now we are in a shituation where the first buffalo nickel back in 1913 would buy you about the same as George Washington on paper will buy you now in today's '13. Here we are under this fiat system in TRILLIONS in debt to this central banking establishment as run by the bearded bulldog. Over in the UK, people protested in their streets when their debt broke £ ONE trillion. Here we are in a debt of over 10x their debt, and you never hear any people as a large group having any major issue with it. How bad does it get before we run in and say "shut it down!". Until spending is balanced and the interest on money can be paid, EVERY SINGLE office of every single branch and organization of government needs to sit theirself down and go over their spending with a fine comb and pull out all those "loose hairs". Even a primary scan over spending should reveal even a billion we should not be spending. Ridiculous forms of research, projects that just are not that important right now, and types of entitlement programs such as the free cell phones and billions in foreign aid, and for sure, ridiculous $multi-million travel expenses for government officials.
Interesting debt-tracking website, although my understanding is the true debt is around $18.5T, not still in the $16Ts, but numbers are easily fudged through "creative accounting".
http://www.usdebtclock.org/
Of course, until the fiat system would ever be dumped, the nation (and the world, for that matter who all live by their own similar systems), can never, by default be economically free. When every dollar is based on a debt to a 3rd party bank, there can't be freedom... you have to pay off the interest on that money with the very money that started that debt. Your own bank gives you a personal loan of $1000, and you pay $10/mo in interest on the loan (on average), and you use that $1000 to pay the interest on that loan they gave you, and there is no other money available except other loans from other banks, it doesn't take one long to see they will be broke and begging for more loans in a few months. Of course, we the people get no say on how much money we cycle into the economy, so we are entrusted in a bunch of rich guys who have no real interest in what happens to the money because they are in with the source of the wealth (those in the banking industry). Coin money is the only true currency because they are made of metals worth at least 1¢, 5¢, 10¢ or 25¢. Of course, it costs more to make those than their face value is, so through the system, paper dollars that help represent are value are lost in the creating of these... but at least once created, metal money can't devalue by its material (although its face value is tied to the paper, so its "accepted" value does degrade). And you have the much more rare silver and gold, of course, but they are harder to come by, and are not cheap, nor commercially accepted. You perhaps could, but I've not heard of anybody taking 20 gold coins into a car dealership expecting to walk out with a new car, but that would pose an interesting experiment.
In essence, lay down all the mundane things of the world, and the smaller local issues that rile up the nation, and lets get together no matter our affiliations or race and let's bond together and seek transparency in what happens behind wooden doors, and demand reason and accountability. We are paying for this party, we should get to attend and join. I say, what better time than the 100th anniversary of the Fed, that we work on deramping this system that does nothing for the common bloke, and incorporate a system that actually promotes wealth among those using the system rather than just those that run it and its supporting structures. I'm sure a few of those that watch me, if you are reading this are like "why worry, it'll never happen", and I understand that annoying reality, but if people just sit idle by while evil reigns and freedoms are more and more taken away, it will continue that much faster. When the envelope is pushed, the people can have the power if we get together to say "Nope, try again; we are not Mikey, we will not eat this bull you are feeding us". It's like the TSA thing... they have no business performing illegal search and seizure on domestic flights. International flights is another business, but domestic law differs quite a bit... but people have shrugged shoulders, slouched down and just gave up on fighting this inappropriate activity.

Question for Artists / Anybody Who Plays with 3D
Posted 12 years agoHello folks,
I was curious... for those of you who have messed with such things. I was considering getting some 3D software, and wondered if there was one that was particularly better than others. I messed with Blender quite a few months back, although I found it rather intimidating trying to figure out how to do what in it. One thing I would also need, that I didn't find in Blender was some sort of ruler where you can make items to specific dimensions (like say you wanted to make a cube that was EXACTLY 5/16" cubed, etc). It could be that a more CAD-type program is what I would be looking.
Basically, I'm considering getting a 3D printer to do some projects with, and well.. and make a buck or 2 with; but the printer will be no good without being able to create objects. Scanners are terribly expensive, so I would have to custom make anything I wanted to attempt to print.
Any good software ideas you folks have, I'd really appreciate it.

Happy 4th of July
Posted 12 years agoHappy 4th Everybody,
Have BBQ and remember all the folks that made this country possible, the revolutionaries, folks of sound mind that drew up the foundations of what would be the nation, and everybody that does so on a daily basis... our military, police, firefighters, medical emergency personnel. And... if you're out on the roads, remember... the law is out, and there are a lot of idiots out there, so be careful out there, and if you're one of the ones headed off to PA, have fun out there.
I think this is also a good day to reflect on the path this nation is headed, how we are sliding further and further from the free society that was brought on by the start of the nation. Nowdays, we have more and more restrictions, laws, entitlements, and regulations that are stealing away our financial and life freedoms. Restrictions that creep more and more and keep drawing the lines further and further, plumb over the borders of the Constitution. We have more per-capita of our population in prisons than any other nation; not a great sign of the times. Stand up for true freedom, not the "freedom through layers and layers of safety nets" that they call "freedom and democracy". Life is a series of risks we take daily, if we bubble-wrapped the world, we'd never get to enjoy the beauty in it.

What "mythical" being are you?

Angels are the guardians of all things, from the smallest ant to the tallest tree. They give inspiration, love, hope, and positive emotion. They live among humans without being seen. They are the good in all things, and if you feel alone, don't fear. They are always watching. Often times they merely stand by, whispering into the ears of those who feel lost. They would love nothing more then to reveal themselves, but in today's society, this would bring havoc and many unneeded questions. Give thanks to all things beautiful, for you are an Angel.

Medical Coding & Billing (Advice/Help/Etc)
Posted 12 years agoHello folks,
I'm not sure if any of you folks out there watching me knows a thing about this sort of thing, but I'm hoping perhaps to find someone that knows someone who does at least. I've been seeking new methods of making money, and I've been considering getting into the medical coding stuff. I was fortunate enough to know someone who took the classes for this, although she hasn't done it as a job, so her information on that side of the house was limited, but I do have a large stack of books here I've been learning and researching. I would like to get in a situation where I am doing it from home (or only have 1 or 2 days/wk where I have to go to a facility) and perform coding for folks either on a contractual basis or with some firm that subs this out to a pool of coders/billers, and who pay decently.
The classes for this are about $2500 from what I'm finding, so I've been holding off on it yet due to that being a bit of a large amount of cash... but I have a cousin who's a nurse who told me that I -should- be able to skip the classes and perhaps find a tutor or someone who does do this for a living and learn the ropes to a point to pass the HIPAA exam (which apparently is where the end certificate comes from). Having gone through these books, I'm trying to learn all those crazy medical terms and get a handle on how basically the coding system works. If there is anybody out there actually doing this for a living, or has done it before, I'd really like to learn more about how all this works. Reading books is good and all, but I'd feel a lot better if I could see how it works, or even at least who I could talk to as far as possibly getting a foot in the door with doing it at home.

Getting old or is this common?
Posted 12 years ago I tend to wonder sometimes... am I just getting old, or is there a commonality where, in general, there just feels like there is no true "worthwhile" goal to life? Things aren't exciting as they were as a fledgling, and the kinds of things I find myself caring about or desiring to do are those sorts of things that are just plumb impossible for one reason or another, and as one ages, less and less things remain doable simply due to time restraint.
Society just isn't quite like it was when I was young... it just rots like a cantaloupe left in the sun. Sometimes there are the reminiscings of the past where things seem simpler and better and folks actually respect and care for one another... but those are but glimpses in the entirety of things, it feels like. Whatever happened to the good old days when someone could find a quiet and content life filled with the things they wanted, free of the bull of the mainstream that inundates from every angle?

Happy Easter
Posted 12 years agoI pray everybody has a good Easter and gets to be with those they care about.
As the saying tends to go for Christmastime: "Remember the reason for the season". It's a day to reflect on many things... hopefully everyone will have a moment to stop and ponder all around us and how it is all this came to be, for it's this day a long time ago, we were all given the chance for a better life. A life free of all the difficulty we deal with.
For those of you in thawed out parts of the world, enjoy you some nice weather!

Fursuiting, Characters, Etc...
Posted 12 years agoOK, I had a conversion with someone about some stuff a couple of weeks ago regarding fursuits and how folks take on a "role" while in said suits, and so I pose this question to the public for curiosity's sake, and well... for the sake of sanity and how I should handle people as well.
Basically, this is the gist of it, many folks out there dress up and take on a character while in said suit. I don't suit myself, so this is all a bit foreign to me. From what I gathered from the conversation, especially since some people have more than 1 suit/character... when you folks who suit are in a suit, is this more like being in a play and you are an actor playing a part so to speak.. ie... you act differently inside there than you do out of it. I always rather assumed suited folks were themselves, but perhaps acted a little more silly or such, but apparently some folks are very different in/out of suit. This begged me to wonder a question... say you meet someone in suit and they (like many) act very friendly, huggy, affectionate, etc while in said suit vs what they may act like otherwise. I wonder... if you meet someone in a suit and never meet them out of suit, how would you know their friendly nature was genuine and not just some act they were putting on? Any perceived friendship or hint thereof made with someone in suit, if you didn't have the chance to speak to them out of suit, how do you know any time you spent hanging around them meant anything at all?
Much like on a movie set, a couple kisses, it seems romantic, but off set it was just "another day at the office". I'm coming to wonder if folks in suits, if it's all just an act, and time spent with said suited person perhaps doesn't mean a damn thing to them.
Please don't take this as offense, hateful, or such... I'm merely curious and wonder of others' take on this. I just always expected folks in those suits to just be more fuzzy versions of themselves, so it kind of got me to learn that there is some sort of character to "get into" and play a part of. One aspect of it all I guess I never really considered.

An interesting take on government & society rules.

The entire video is good information, but I found this portion quite intriguing (16:30-end of video). If you are a Libertarian, this will rather hit home.
I haven't watched them yet, but here are the other 2 videos in the series subsequent to the one above:

Does anybody else ever...
Posted 12 years ago75 Questions Thingy
Posted 12 years agoSomebody else did this 75 questions thing, figure I'd give it a shot, although I don't normally do crap like this:
1. First thing you wash in the shower? Neck/shoulders, usually; arms if I was really into a lot of grease from the car or such
2. What color is your favorite hoodie? Dark blue
3. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again? Not sure...
4. Do you plan outfits? Not usually... whatever gets grabbed that day
5. How are you feeling RIGHT now? Eh... dreading getting another year older, mostly
6. Whats the closest thing to you that's red? Store-brand cola can
7. Do you say aim or a-i-m? Aim... then fire!
8. Tell me about the last dream you remember having? Didn't dream much last night... but the memorable one before was weird few days ago... this guy had this house built over the water that was all delapidated because he'd died, his Sarge in the MIL killed him with a spear (some coverup thing or something), although it's like I relived his memory, like I was him and remember laying there in this living room with 2 other ppl I know in the dream at their house, bleeding a whole lot, and trying not to die... that was a weird one... (that was the 2nd real bloody dream I've had lately)
9. Did you meet anybody new today? Nope... normal folks, although this one girl was at a friend's place who I hadn't seen in months and months.
10. What are you craving right now? Something to eat, long's it's good... it's 15:00 and I haven't ate yet today
11. Do you floss? Unfortunately not...
12. What comes to mind when I say cabbage? Sounds like good eatin'. Need black-eyed peas to go with it, eh?
13. When was the last time you talked on aim? Few minutes ago
14. Are you emotional? Kind of, I suppose. Just depends.
15. Would you dance to the taco song? Ummm... no
16. Have you ever counted to 1,000? Yea, but it isn't often you are counting that much of something. Usually if it's small parts/items, it's easier to do it in 50s or 100s, then just count the # of piles at the end.
17. Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it? Spoon usually because it's in a bowl
18. Do you like your hair? It's OK when I don't let it get the way it is now
19. Do you like yourself? Sounds like a trick question.
20. Have you ever met a celebrity? Just 1 that I can think of... Mario Lopez, who was Slater on Saved by the Bell... he happened to be at Carlsbad Caverns when me and my dad were there, so got his autograph
21. Do you like cottage cheese? That is gross; who invented these questions?
22. What are you listening to right now? Nothing right now... the fridge is running, that's about it (and no, I'm not in the mood to catch it either)
23. How many countries have you visited? 2... 3 if I get to count Republic of Texas as a country. Drove over to Canada a few times while in border states.
24. Are your parents strict? Yea, but not in that SUPER strict bad kind of way... more strict about stuff that mattered when it came to morals and such. General stuff like a bedtime and that sort of thing was more lenient. Once grown, it wasn't an issue.
25. Would you go sky diving? A friend tries to talk me into this, and as much as I desire to fly (obviously), I just... I'd feel a LOT better about it if I could do it on my own doing.
26. Would you go out to eat with George W. Bush? I suppose so. Everyone needs a good laugh on occasion.
27. Would you throw potatoes at him? No sense in ruining good food.
28. Is there anything sparkly in the room you’re in? Shiny, yea; sparkly, definitely not. Yuk.
29. Have you ever been in a castle? No, just stood outside the parliament building in Victoria, BC, which is castle-like in appearance. Got to to go Europe for that, really.
30. Do you rent movies often? Not really. Usually just watch movies with friends who own a good movie or if they happen to come on TV, or seeing stuff at the theater.
31. Who sits in behind you in your math class? I'm a bit old to be in a math class.
32. Have you made a prank phone call? A couple of times, but that was over 25 years ago, so you can't prove it.
33. Do you own a gun? I admit to nothing.
34. Can you count backwards from 74? I'm not drunk, so... yea.
35. Who are you going to be with tonight? Sposta visit with some family later.
36. Brown or white eggs? White's all I had, although heard brown's healthier.
37. Do you own something from Hot Topic? Not that I recall.
38. Ever been on a train? Unless a trolley that runs on tracks counts, no. It would be neat, though. But, unless one is full of Morgan silver dollars, and I change my name to Jesse James, there isn't much reason to.
39. Ever been in love? In what feels like a long time ago in a galaxy far away...
40. Do you have a cell-phone? Old-timey Nokia from '04 that I really need to get a new numpad for, or glue the buttons back on it (although the 2 and 8 I never found where those got lost).
41. Are you too forgiving? Too forgiving... I wouldn't say that. Will I forgive would have been a better question to ask, or rather... how many decades would it take depending on the crime or action.
42. Do you use chap stick? No
43. What is your best friend doing tomorrow? I think they're going to church in the morning, outside of that, no clue. Football season's over, so the excitement has kinda deflated.
44. Can you use chop sticks? Yep, although I can't hold them like the stupid instructions say you are "supposed to". Eating Jell-O cubes with them is always interesting.
45. Ever have cream puffs? I'm not sure I even want to know what they had in mind when asking this.
46. Have you ever seen The Butterfly Effect? Oddly, it was on TV at my friend's place last night, although I'd seen it once before. Pretty tripped out, although I often find myself wishing I could return to another time and do stuff differently.
47. What was the last question you asked? Who invented these questions?
48. What was the last CD you bought? If PS1 games count, the FF series.
49. Boys or girls? Girls, but they are so bossy and gossipy.
50. What is your bus number for school? Again, too old for that.
51. Is your hair curly? If it gets long enough, yea.
52. Last time you cried? Sometime in the middle of the last decade of the last millennium sometime. I don't do that crap anymore.
53. Ever walked into a wall? Once that I know of for sure at my step-sis' place at night. Took dedgum at least an hr in the bathroom to get it to quit bleeding. That was a not fun sort of headache. Next day, they saw all the paper towels and TP in the trash basket in the bathroom and wondered who died.
54. Do looks matter? To an extent, but if the inside is rotten, the skin of the fruit hardly matters.
55. Have you ever bought anything from Pac Sun? Don't even know what that is.
56. Have you ever slapped someone? Not in a while.
57. Favorite time of the year? Spring. Colorful, smells nice, and the threat of cold weather is at an end, yet not 3-digit degree hot like summer.
58. Favorite color? Blue
59. Are you sarcastic? Pff... where would one get such a ridiculous notion as that?
60. Do you have any tattoos? Not only no, but hell no
61. The last person you held hands with? Shoot, I can't remember.
62. Do you sleep with the TV on? Definitely not; I like dark and quiet.
63. Where was your default picture taken at? If you mean avatar pic thingy, MSPaint; if you mean featured submission, at the state park
64. Do you hate or dislike more than 3 people? How many people are idiots?
65. Do you like your life right now? It's OK, I suppose. A certain level of freedom, but at the same time, a lot of uncertainty that I'm trying to work on.
66. How often do you talk on the phone? 1 or 2 times a day
67. What is your favorite animal? I would say dragons, but dragons aren't animals to me, but rather others like me. Black panthers with their nighttime stealthiness for a land animal, and a dolphin for a water-based animal.
68. What was the most recent thing you bought? Food
69. Do you have good vision? It was REAL good when I was a little kid and when I got contacts the very first time. Now it's just 20/20 with these newer, stronger contacts, although up close without them, I can read the itty bitty stuff on pill bottles and such.
70. Can you hula hoop? Haven't really tried.
71. Could you ever forgive a cheater? It would be tough, but if it's someone I was dating or otherwise not committed to yet, I'd probably say where to go in Navajo. If I was married... I'd try my best to make it work after that. I just hope I never have to deal with that sort of thing.
72. Do you have a job? Not officially. Been doing random crap to try and work toward making steady money. After being in the corporate world for a long while, I got really turned off by it. Money was decent, but the long hours and immorality of the corporate scene was getting to be too much.
74. What are you wearing? Jeans and a shirt from Alaska
75. Have you ever crawled through a window? I think I need to contact a lawyer before divulging anything further.
1. First thing you wash in the shower? Neck/shoulders, usually; arms if I was really into a lot of grease from the car or such
2. What color is your favorite hoodie? Dark blue
3. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again? Not sure...

Any appliance experts out there?
Posted 12 years agoHey folks,
Of you folks that watch me, hoping one of you, or somebody you know may have some ideas... I have an old '79 Series 80 Kenmore washer that I'm trying to fix up and restore to use again. The machine worked (and hopefully still does), but had a leaky bottom seal. Machine was in use even after that for a while, but has been sitting for... probably about 8 years now. Well, I'm trying to get the whole machine apart, so I can clean everything up, replace rubber pieces, bottom seal, etc. Since it was leaking into the transmission and slowly working the oil out of it, I'm hoping it isn't rusty inside there, although won't know till I get past my current problem. I have been watching an assortment of videos online to see if there are any tricks, the suggestions I've seen, I've done, and no dice.
The lower part of the agitator in it SUPPOSEDLY should just pull right out, well the shaft it goes over is extremely rusty (from crap I'm getting out of the bolt hole, it's apparently pretty bad). I have done everything I can think of to try and get it off, but nothing seems to work. I have put all sorts of oils, libricants, bolt looseners, CLR and other chemicals laying around the house down in there to break up the rust, but it is flat stuck on there. I've been running a heavy-duty ratchet strap under the agitator to put a bunch of pressure under it to pull it up and tapping and hitting on it with a hammer to try and knock it loose that way, and it just isn't happening. If anybody has any ideas, I'm up for trying anything. Since my finances aren't "all that" right now, I really don't want to damage or have to cut in half it and forced to spend $50 on a new part. Plus.. I'd also like to keep it original as possible. This is a belt-drive type machine.
Thanks in advance for any ideas I haven't tried yet.

HRs For the Libertarian-Minded - Part Deux
Posted 12 years agoI didn't realize that I was on but so many of the HRs when I was including the prior list. I updated the other list a bit with bills that seem to mesh/mirror one another, but here is a subsequent listing, but I'll keep this short as far as my comments.
__________________________________________________
HR 156 - To provide for the withdrawal of the United States from the North American Free Trade Agreement
HR 191 - NAFTA Accountability Act
Would I ask too much to say that any agency should be accountable for its actions, finances, etc as with holding up to law and the Constitution? I see a few various bills out there with the word "accountability" on it... it is a cause for concern that these are so necessary.
HR 192 - Balancing Trade Act of 2013
Provides that if there is a trade deficit of $10B+ for 3 years in a row between us and another nation, the President's to step in and work to reconcile. Considering we export little and import a LOT, there is much work to be done.
HR 213 - Sewage Sludge in Food Production Consumer Notification Act
This makes you feel good about your next meal, doesn't it? I suppose a sticker simply stating "May Taste Like Shit" would suffice.
HR 234 - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Investigative Commission Act
HR 243 - Bowles-Simpson Plan of Lowering America's Debt Act
Looks to be a slew of decreases in spending and flat-out cuts. I'll have to read more in-depth into this to see if there is anything I wouldn't agree with, although I'm favoring anything that leads to LESS spending.
HR 259 - Energy Freedom and Economic Prosperity Act
Repeals a lot of the "entitlements" to folks for alternative fuels/energies. Money we don't need to be shelling out right now. Let the consumers and free market steer the markets in the proper direction, as long as we aren't destroying the environment, of course the hazmat created or involved in the manufacture of alternative energies is something we could be with less of as well.
HR 260 - To reduce Federal spending and the deficit by terminating taxpayer financing of presidential election campaigns and party conventions and by terminating the Election Assistance Commission
HR 294 - To revoke a requirement of Executive Order 13618 with respect to the use of privately owned communications resources by the Secretary of Homeland Security, and for other purposes
HR 296 - Congress is Not a Career Act
The name of this is classic.
HR 308 - Constitutional Congressional Pay Accountability Act of 2013
HR 316 - Budget Before Borrowing Act of 2013
An HR to stop debt ceiling increases unless a budget first is set up to deal with it, although I think we should stop ALL increases of the ceiling. But, this measure may be a way of making it more difficult to raise the ceiling as has been the norm since the President took office.
HR 334 - Keystone For a Secure Tomorrow Act
Help me help you tomorrow. Make visiting your friends across the country perhaps get a bit cheaper in time.
HR 366 - Animal Fighting Spectator Prohibition Act of 2013
Looks like they are widening the law of hosting such an event with it also being illegal to attend such a function, although I was under the impression this was previously on the books.
HR 410 - Restore the Constitution Act of 2013
Skimmed over it and looks to be a resolution to put a stop to EOs and such that override Congress in order to infringe on the 2nd Amendment. I would like to see this reworded or a separate HR put in to the effect that encompasses the ENTIRE Constitution and not just a particular passage. Granted, this is a huge hot-button issue at the moment, 1st Amendment rights have been nibbled on as well in certain regards.

HRs For the Libertarian-Minded
Posted 12 years agoHello folks. For those of you in the US or interested in the goings-on in the struggle for true liberty, there are some House Resolutions in the works that are of interest.
If you are politically active (or even if you aren't), if you agree with these measures, you may want to bug the crap out of your local Congressional district reps/senators and let them know you want freedoms and liberties restored in this country.
These are some act I would like to see get past. I'm sure there may be a couple of others that would be beneficial that I perhaps missed. Then there are plenty that need to be avoided like the plague that they are. For the remainder of the list, see:

HR 23 - Sanctity of Human Life Act
A pro-life act that basically indicates that life begins at conception. I tend to agree that fledglings should be offered the chance the at life, granted there are rather tough decisions that come into play like a female who is raped, is a minor, or strongly evident medical issues that risk life of the baby or mother. Down side, is the text doesn't seem to specifically deal with those instances, but I have to say a mother killing a life because she wanted to play and didn't intend to get pregnant or later decided it wasn't the economic or social decision she wanted are bad reasons to end life... there is always adoption (of course, there needs to be a LOT less red tape when it comes to that process).
HR 24 - Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2013
HR 33 - Audit The Fed Act of 2013
Obviously, this, the 100th anniversary of the Federal Reserve is the perfect time to see what the bearded bulldog and his cohorts are up to, so there can be SOME semblance of accountability, and at least knowledge on what they are doing over there, since they are a "service" implored that we pay for (with which we aren't getting our money's worth).
HR 25 - Fair Tax Act of 2013
HR 147 - Death Tax Repeal Act
HR 147 seems to be included as a part of what is proposed in HR 25, which would end that particular tax as well. It's about time (if it will pass). I haven't had a chance to read all of this text, but it would repeal payroll/income taxes (including Soc Sec? will have to keep reading and verify) and replace it with a 23% fed sales tax that would take effect in '15. Taxation seems to be a one-time charge only, so like now it seems, businesses would use a sales tax certificate with their TIN to purchase goods w/o tax, so tax only charged when purchased by end consumer. Granted it will make large purchases VERY expensive (unless there is something in the bill to exclude or give cheaper provisions to vehicles, RVs/campers and mobile/manufactured homes). As it is, autos are taxed at the state sales tax rate over and over again each time the title transfers, which would go vs the "cascading taxation" of this bill. Benefits of something like this would save citizens a LOT of money in taxes and open up dollars for the fed to put toward reducing the debt. Why?
1. Illegals and visitors to the US would pay taxes while purchasing goods and services during their time here.
2. We won't have 1000s and 1000s of people in prison for tax elusion or fraud. Average citizens won't be hounded by Mr. Smith-looking agents saying you owe taxes, because they are paid on a as-you-go basis... only auditing/hounding would be necessary against businesses not submitting paid taxes to the gov't (much like now how companies must pay collected sales tax to their state).
3. Your paycheck at $10/hr for a 40 hr week is $400, not $280 or so. You may invest, save, do as you please with your money, until you are ready to make purchases/pay for entertainment/etc.
HR 35 - Safe Schools Act of 2013
HR 133 - Citizens Protection Act of 2013
Repeals the Gun Free School Zones Act. I must say this text read opposite as I fear it would. If bodies of school staff desire to and are properly trained, I feel they can help create safer environments in our schools. Perhaps some folks out there would not trust a teacher or principal with a gun, but if said person could NOT be trusted, then I feel we shouldn't be trusting them with the kids 7 hours per day either.
HR 45 - To repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and health care-related provisions in the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010
HR 132 - ObamaCare Repeal Act
Repeal the PPACA... this never should have been allowed to happen to start with.
HR 52 - To amend title 5, United States Code, to provide for the termination of further retirement coverage of Members of Congress, except for the right to participate in the Thrift Savings...
HR 151 - Termination of Lifelong Pensions for Members of Congress Act
This looks to be the end of the golden egg. I will have to go over this text again in finer detail, but that is how it was looking to me.
HR 54 - To provide that no pay adjustment for Members of Congress shall be made with respect to any pay period occurring during the One Hundred Thirteenth Congress
HR 134 - To repeal the provision of law that provides automatic pay adjustments for Members of Congress
HR 150 - Congressional Pay Reduction Act
No pay raises for the 113th Congress. Of course, not cuts, either.. but like that ever happens, right? HR 150 passes, I'll fall out of my chair.
HR 56/57/58/59 - To make x% percent across-the-board rescissions in non-defense, non-homeland-security, and non-veterans-affairs discretionary spending for each of the fiscal years 2013 and 2014
56-1%, 57-15%, 58-10%, 59-5% respectively. If ALL of these pass, would it mean a 31% cut? With our dollar eroding like an iron ship sunk in the ocean, we need to get on a sound "household budget".
HR 73 - Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act
See Ron Paul's End the Fed book for the why. Anyone who understands fiat money understands this is a necessity. It only offers a 1-year extension beyond the passing of the act before being abolished. That is pretty quick; a plan for what to do if this passes needs to be worked out before-paw, or it shall be a mess even on its own. I see a couple of options... we go on a coin-only system whereas coins are manufactured out of metals for value, or a currency is set up whereas bills could be liquidated into metals with fair ease, which would require holdings by the gov't to back it up, or the gov't gets out of the minting business, and let the private sector come in and provide coinage, which, as it is now, would be regulated to ensure quality/accuracy. I don't see an issue with the gov't staying in the minting business, however. Proceeds from collectible series of coins sold at a premium over face value could pay for the upkeep of the mint, pay for the personnel, etc.
HR 75 - American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2013
This bill would secede the US from the UN. This would end our membership, and end of ALL monies, apportioned or voluntary to them, their missions and all of their associations and organizations. We do not need to sink tons of dollars into a globalist organization in order to do business or engage in diplomatic missions with other nations. It is, in essence, a "middle man" that is quite unncessary. Considering they are using us as a world policing force or means to "spread democracy" around the world, that is something that interests us little and ends up in nations holding hostility vs us while we try to run others' lives and governments.
HR 77 - Free Competition in Currency Act of 2013
Eliminate taxation on coinage, bullion and the like... ie taxing trading money for money, which in irony, bullion is more real money than anything, but trading a debt for a commodity isn't too bad a deal, I wouldn't say. How the world got brainwashed into believing that debt is money is quite unfathomable in my mind.
HR 94 - To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to prohibit the use of public funds for political party conventions
HR 95 - To reduce Federal spending and the deficit by terminating taxpayer financing of presidential election campaigns and party conventions.
Definitely! If you want to run for office of any kind, that should be on your dime. Let these guys' supporters donate to their cause so they may travel about the nation and "do their thing". Although, as it's been forever, there is always the risk of lobbyists or special interest individuals offering quid pro quo type donations, which obviously should not occur. Political party stuff, I would like to see the party system go by the wayside, and instead of parties, we thrive on the ideas and beliefs of the individual that they may be more accountable for their personal decisions in office and not just part of some "larger umbrella" that seems to protect them from guilt of what they do (or don't do and should).
HR 106 - Congressional Budget Accountability Act
I think this one is self-explanatory. And, as I said before, balanced "household" budget... and being held accountable for ensuring that happens... that is where we need to get if we want to succeed and try to keep the dollar as a favored worldwide currency.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Posted 13 years agoHey everybody,
I just wanted to wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy New Year. I hope everyone has family or friends they can spend the time with. Those of you who have me on their watch list, but I don't speak to very often, I hope you are doing well.
Be well and safe out there,
