Computer Update
Posted 10 years agoSo, I just got a call from geek squad, and basically they said that my laptop is so old that they wouldn't be able to get the parts needed to fix it. So, it's done for. I need to get a new one. This is probably going to end up costing me close to a thousand dollars. I really hope my dad can help me out or that I can do some kind of layaway thing... This is gonna suck :(

Posted 10 years agoI don't know what happened. I was trying to plug in my headphones, and they brushed into the usb port. Didn't press in, just tapped it. And my friggin computer like shorted out. It made a little noise and just died, and now no matter what I do it will not respond to me. I tried taking out the battery and putting it back in, holding the power button, nothing. Guess I have to take it into fucking best buy tomorrow... So fucking upset right now >:(
Edit: so I took it to geek squad, and the guy couldn't figure out what the problem was, so he had to send it out. He gave me an estimated 1-2 weeks until I get it back, and if it's fixable it'll likely cost me at least $150... If it's fixable. It very well may not be, especially since I've had it since 2008. And to get a new laptop of comparable quality it would cost me around $500-600, maybe more. Sooo not only am I without a computer for a week or two, but I'm also about to be hella broke (plus I just spent $400 getting my brakes completely replaced on my car). Great.

Made it Home - RMFC Recap
Posted 10 years ago Holy shit guys. This con. This con was one of the absolute greatest experiences I've ever had in my life. This was my fourth furcon, but it was the first time that I actually came out of my shell and got to meet and hang out with new people. So, I think it's time for a short recap, if anything so I can get it all sorted out in my head XD
I arrived in Denver on Tuesday night, where 
purplefloyd picked me up from the airport and let me sleep on his couch. We spent Wednesday playing lazer tag and arcade games, had a ton of fun. Thursday we left early for Denver and made a detour to Estes Park and the Stanley Hotel on the way - it was absolutely beautiful and I saw a mother black bear and two cubs on the way! We arrived in the afternoon, checked in, and had kind of an awkward situation with the random guy we were supposed to room with... Basically he ended up finding another room to crash in because it turned out we weren't able to get a cot.. But honestly I was pretty relieved.
Friday was spent bouncing around the con doing a little bit of everything. I spent some money in the Dealer's Den, got a 
wolf-nymph commission which I should be receiving in the next couple weeks, bought a 
Rukis book that I'll be reading later, and bid on a piece in the art show. I was introduced to the incredibly fun and amazing 
sebastianfox, as well as 
mehi, 
lozey, 
leenaVB, and some others. I got to spend some time fursuiting and just getting a feel for the con.
Saturday was a freaking blast. I was in the fursuit parade, and was introduced to 
dezzy.bayn and 
nimjongil, who are both amazing. purplefloyd, sebastianfox, dezzy.bayn and I attended a couple fun panels and just hung out around the con. After various shenanigans, bouncing around the con and with different people, and after cramming 7 people in a sedan to go to dinner, we went to a sort of almost room party in Dezzy and Nim's room. After getting pretty inebriated we were invited to another room party, which we were shortly kicked out of just because of some miscommunication between the hosting roommates. Sebastian and I ended up wandering around on our own for a while and had a blast dancing, talking to random strangers, and playing Mortal Kombat. I can't even keep straight everything that happened on Saturday, but it was ridiculously fun.
Sunday was a little more low-key. We had breakfast with the folks from the night before, as well as 
sharpiesabre, 
sugiguardian and 
snowleo. Most of the day was spent hanging out with people either in our room, as we were one of the only ones who booked through Sunday night, or out in the atrium. It was a bittersweet day. We let Sebastian crash in our room for the night and stayed up hella late in the atrium with mehi and Sugi just hugging fursuiters and keeping an eye on creepers.
Monday we had breakfast with the remaining stragglers, and then checked out. I spent the rest of the day hanging out with Seb, Floyd and his roommates, before crashing on his couch one more night. Saying goodbyes that night and then this morning really sucked. I had such a wonderful time at this con, and met so many wonderful and amazing people, I never wanted to leave. This is going to sound super cheesy but for the first time in a very long time I felt like I actually belonged somewhere, and almost as though I had found my people XD Being back in California almost feels wrong. I am going to make every effort to ensure I can make it back to RMFC next year, even though it is a bit of a journey for me. The people there make it absolutely worth it. I'm also going to try and make sure purplefloyd and sebastianfox can join me for FC 2016. In the meantime, the post-con depression is very real, and I need to find ways to keep myself occupied until the next one.

Any hognose tips? Might be getting one
Posted 10 years agoHey! Any of my herp friends/followers know anything about hognose snakes or have had them, and want to give me some pointers? I'm on a list at my local reptile shop for a clutch of eggs, so once the eggs have hatched and the babies are feeding they're gonna call me and let me know. I've never had a colubrid before, but I've had a rosy boa and a woma python. I just had to rehome the woma due to space issues in my new place, thus why I'm thinking a hognose might be a good match, since they're so teeny :3
I'm thinking that since the hatchlings are so teeny tiny I could probably house it in a small plastic terrarium (the little ones with the handles that are super cheap at most pet stores) with a heat pad until it gets bigger than a worm XD Any thoughts? Tips or pointers? Thanks!

Posted 10 years agoIf you guys haven't noticed, I like drawing pokephilia. It's my one big kink. Now, I'm not sure if any of my watchers even like that kind of content, but if you do, I'd be totally open to taking some requests.
I'm not really interested in drawing pokemon fursonas or pokemon with people's fursonas. I mostly just want to draw male pokemon paired with female humans. However I'd also be open to drawing solo male pokemon or two pokemon together of any gender.
So, feel free to make a request in the comments if you're interested! Since I'm just doing these because I feel like it, whether or not I draw something requested, whether I tweak it, how detailed I make it, etc is entirely up to me. Also when I do it. I might just put an idea aside and use it later.

Posted 10 years agoSorry I haven't really been posting much of anything lately, I've been going through a very rough patch for the last month now. I can't go into details but basically shit has been going down, and I don't think it will be stopping any time soon. I've been really depressed and unmotivated. I've been kind of wanting to draw, but can't seem to actually get myself to do it. It's really frustrating. I've also been working a lot, which is good for my pocketbook but not for my creativity. I'm basically just trying to get everything in my life together, and also get ready for RMFC (I know it's still a little ways away, but I need to get shit ready). Anyways, I'll try to get some art posted soon, and I'll try to get some of those packages sent out as well. Thanks for the patience.

I'll be attending RMFC this year so long as nothing goes wrong at the last minute, and I was wondering if any of my watchers are going, and if so, how about some super cheap badges from me? They would be done traditionally, either bust or full body, colored, laminated and would come with a laniard. Delivered at con. I'd be down to take them for either $5 each or possibly a trade of some sort.. make an offer if that sounds good to you? I'll consider art trades but I'd be more partial to trading for like food or something XD

Posted 10 years agoSometimes, I have to look in the mirror and think about the things I've done, the people I've hurt, the kind of person I am. But at the end of the day, I am a woman who fights to the last breath for those she loves, and for what she believes in. And you know what? Nother Update
Posted 10 years agoSo, it has now been close to three weeks in the new place, and I gotta say I was too judgmental at first. I was super anxious about moving out and so was assuming it was going to be a horrible mistake (I tend to jump to worst possible outcomes). But, now that I've been here a little while, I think I can safely say that moving here was a good thing. I'm finding it a little easier to actually get work done (my constant exhaustion is still an obstacle, but I no longer feel too stressed or anxious to draw anything), and my roommate is actually a super cool guy who has been very considerate and respectful. He even yelled at his friend for knocking on the door at 1 am because I was asleep. And if he has friends over and I go to bed, he'll ask them to leave even though I say I don't care if they stay. So that's certainly helped :)
Also I've come to really realize how little money I make, as well as how bad I am at managing said money. If my dad weren't sending me money every month I would be having an extremely difficult time, because even with this place being pretty much the cheapest rent in the city, it's still half of my monthly pay. I've been babysitting my coworker's son to supplement my income a little, and hopefully I'll start dogwalking soon.
Oh, and to everyone who is still waiting on a package from me: Currently all of the stuff that I still have to send out is stuck at my dad's house, and he is currently out of the country and will be for another couple weeks (last minute business trip). And, needless to say I don't feel comfortable going there when he's not home since the bitch literally never leaves the house. So, they're kind of in limbo right now. But they'll be boxed up and sent in batches when he comes back, and as I can afford to send them (it's expensive and I'm poor). They'll get there, it might just be a while.
Also I've come to really realize how little money I make, as well as how bad I am at managing said money. In the New Place
Posted 10 years agoWelp, I'm in my new digs. Yesterday was actually my first night here, I was just way too exhausted to post a journal. I still have some moving to do, but to be honest I don't know how I'm going to pull it off. This space is sooooo small. My bed pretty much takes up 85% of the space.
Not to mention, it's dirty as hell and is lacking most basic household supplies. And my roommate seems to have guests pretty much whenever he's home, which as an introvert is no fun :( especially since they hang out mostly in the main room (where I'm set up) instead of in his bedroom.
We'll see how long this lasts I suppose :/ I may end up looking for something new in a couple months.

Moving Soon + Giving random stuff away
Posted 10 years ago Just letting you guys know, starting tomorrow I have to start packing and getting ready to move, I'm hoping to be moved in by the end of the first week of April. So, activity may decrease for a couple weeks (not that I'm terribly active to begin with). I have to get rid of a lot of things, and find places to store a lot of other things. And after paying first + last month's rent I will be superrrrr broke until I get paid again in a week and a half. Fun.
I have a few things that I would be willing to give away if anyone wants them? It's mostly just random junk that I would totally ship wherever, maybe just split shipping costs with me? I may put some of it together and post a picture a little later, but for quick example of things I'd be willing to give away: a Shadow the hedgehog plush and Knuckles the echidna plush, a Shadow the hedgehog beanie, this crazy decorative dagger with a dragon for a handle that comes with a stand, some various dragon figurines/statues, a couple of original art pieces by me (the ones I'm willing to give away are non-furry related though), the entire first and second series of the "Warriors" book series (you know, the one about the wild cats?), two high quality rubber Halloween masks (one of a skeleton-demon thing, one of a gorgoyle demon looking thing), and a bunch of random little glass sculptures (most of them are of dogs, and one is a ferret). Like I said I'll probably post a picture of it all later, but right off the bat would anyone at all be interested in any of it? I don't want money for it, I just want to get rid of it without throwing it away lol. Video Game Recommendations?
Posted 10 years ago I've been itching for some new games to play, so I'm looking for some suggestions. I have a PC that's great for gaming, and a Nintendo 3DS, but no console. I love Pokemon, and have played all of the main series games; never tried any of the spinoffs though, I'm not sure if they're any good? I also really love open-world RPGs where you have a ton of freedom, such as the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series'. My other favorite is story-based, decision making games such as The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and Heavy Rain.
So, any suggestions? I've thought about getting the new Monster Hunter game, but I've never played any games from that series so I'm not sure XD Update on Living Situation
Posted 10 years ago Soo... here we go X( I guess there are a couple of life related updates in here *shrug*
Also I apologize ahead of time, I have a tendency to write journals that are entirely too long.
About two weeks ago I bought a car, and it has already been helping me tremendously and has opened up a lot of options for me. So that's good.
I have a friend who is a dogwalker who might end up hiring me (also as a dogwalker), and has claimed she would pay me much more than what I'm making now. And while I hesitate to leave my current job, mainly because my coworkers are my best friends these days and also because part-time workers just started getting sick and vacation hours here... I am pretty sick of retail and of working for a corporation that doesn't give a shit about what's right or about its' workers. I'll also have to see what she says about my car... she may tell me I can't do it because I got a pretty small car and she was hoping I would get a big one so I could transport lots of dogs in it. I'm also not terribly excited at the thought of getting it really dirty... but I do love dogs and miss spending time with them. I'll update on that more later.
Anyways, in other news, I may have found myself a place. It's tiny, it's dirty, and it's honestly really shitty, but it's probably the best I'll be able to get. A guy I've been friends with since the 7th grade is living there already (it's an in-law unit in the backyard of one of his friends' parents' house), and he needs a roommate, and would prefer for it to be someone he knows. I would basically be sleeping in the living room, out in the open... but he's my friend and he's willing to be accommodating to me. And it would only be $500 a month, which around here is completely unheard of. So.. I'm probably gonna do it.
There are however a couple of downsides which may ultimately decrease my activity here. The main one is that he has no idea that I'm a furry, and I'm pretty sure he has a negative opinion of us. So I would probably hardly ever be able to go fursuiting (and I would have to keep them hidden somewhere), and I would probably be much less able to draw lots of furry artwork. In addition to this, I would have virtually no privacy and very little space, so artwork in general may be less frequent anyways.
Another, more minor downside is that he is a total stoner (420 from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to bed), which I wouldn't mind so much if he weren't smoking it in the house... I mainly just don't want all my stuff to smell like pot XD
The one good thing is that my dad has agreed to help me out and send me $500 a month (I told him the rent would be higher than it actually is). I was really surprised because he said he had to ask his stupid new wife for permission... But I guess she granted it to him because she wants me gone.
Anyways, sorry for the crazy long journal. I'll probably post another update in a couple weeks.. although I'm not sure if anyone even really reads them X(Random Update (mainly on living situation)
Posted 10 years ago Just checking in I guess. There isn't anything terribly important in here, mostly just random shit my exhausted brain feels like writing about XD
The main thing is that my living situation has become really horrible really fast. Even though I'm in college and shit, I'm still living with my dad, mainly because a, I live in the Bay Area so rent around here is expensive as FUCK (like actually, average $1200/mo for a shitty little studio), b, I also live in a college town so basically there's a huge amount of competition for even the suckiest of apartments, c I go to community college but everybody would much rather rent to the student that goes to the prestigious university in my town, d I have a ton of social anxiety and am very awkward so I don't really make a good first impression. And I don't make a lot of money.
ANYWAYS, the reason this has become a horrible situation all very suddenly is because I kid you not, my dad just married the fucking evil stepmother from cinderella. He flew her and her 16 year old twin daughters in from China like the day after Christmas, and they've been here since. Even though this was some strange person whom I'd never met before who was coming into my house and my life, I tried to be polite and courteous, as much as I can be. Even though she started trying to change me even before she got here. I had to fucking get rid of my snakes because she could not even stand the thought of living under the same roof as one, despite the fact that she would never ever see them and they lived in locked glass cages.
And while things were relatively okay, albeit horribly awkward and uncomfortable, for the first month or so, things went to shit very quickly. February first was the twins' birthday, and they had a "party," if you could even call it that. And this bitch got FURIOUS with me because I didn't sing happy birthday to them enthusiastically enough? She legit thought I was trying to make her mad, and although she didn't say shit to me apparently she screamed at my father every single day about how mad at me she was.
And she never got over it. She started completely ignoring my existence, and trying to make me feel as uncomfortable and unwelcome as possible. February 14th, TWO WHOLE WEEKS LATER, my birthday, she was still pissed. About me not singing. So on my fucking birthday my dad tells me I either have to apologize to her for literally nothing, or I have to move out. Not having anywhere to go, I reluctantly agree to "apologize" after a long argument. So he goes to grab her so we can talk, and about five minutes later he returns to tell me that "she doesn't want to talk to you."
And ever since then, things have just been getting worse by the day. I hear her screaming at him literally almost every morning and every night (about many things, not just me - although I am brought up almost every time). She screams like a toddler about how I don't do my laundry often enough, and when I do I don't hang it right, or how my showers are too long, basically just all really petty and childish shit. And every time I hear her demanding that he kick me out. And while so far he has refused I can see his patience is waning. So I'm worried. I honestly don't know how much longer I will have a place to live.
My instinct is to just beat the shit out of her(I know violence is not the answer but it is my instinctual response to this kind of stuff. *bear*) and shut her up, but of course that would just get me kicked out for sure. My mom says I can stay with her if I absolutely need to, but I stopped living with her because I got into a physical fight with her boyfriend a couple years ago (I swear I don't start these conflicts, I just finish them).
So anyways, I'm not looking for a pity party, I'm just letting y'all know that my life is shitty and unstable right now, so I haven't been getting a lot of work done and I may suddenly become inactive for a while depending on what happens in the near future. I'm hoping that if I do get kicked out it at least happens after I buy a car so I can at least sleep in it if I need to.
On a totally unrelated note, I want to cut all my hair off. At the moment I have long golden locks that are like halfway down my back, but I kind of want to get a super butch really short on the sides slightly less short on top kind of haircut. And bleach it even more blonde. I think most people look better with short hair, and it would reflect my angry personality better (mostly joking). But more than anything it's because I feel like I look childish and am not taken seriously with such long hair. I'm pretty sure humans subconsciously associate long hair with immaturity, childishness and even unintelligence. And I don't wanna be sending those vibes.

Convention Update
Posted 11 years ago So first off lemme just give an update on my convention schedule for this year. While I was seriously considering going to RainFurrest, I ultimately decided I'll be going to Rocky Mountain FurCon, even though it's pretty far for me. I really wanted to go back to Seattle and hang out with some people there I've been dying to meet, but ultimately I really wanna make it up to purplefloyd and go to a con that's local for him since he wasn't able to make FC after all. Plus I've never been to Colorado, and the timing is a little better for my school schedule than RF ultimately was.
Anyways, with that out of the way, let's just do a quick recap of FC:
This was a very fun con, although a few things ultimately threw me off and unfortunately made it not quite as fun as it otherwise would have been. The main thing was that since I booked the hotel six months in advance and at the time didn't know if I would end up having class the following Monday, I didn't book Sunday night. So, we had to check out Sunday morning, and between the two of us we had six bags (most were mine ;-;), plus we were just exhausted... so we ended up having to leave Sunday morning. I was and still am super bummed, I really wanted to go to FC Unleashed and spend some more time fursuiting. So next year I will definitely have to book Sunday night as well lol.
Other than that though it was a pretty fun con. I bought some cool stuff while managing to not go too far and spend way too much, and even bought a piece from the art show. Also I found out the art show was a thing, lol. I didn't realize it existed last year XD I've been thinking about maybe trying to submit some pieces for it next year too, but just maybe.
I didn't get to suit as much as I had hoped, but I got some good time in there and rocked my awesome badge I got from 
aerosocks and 
skiaskai, which I'll probably scan and post here later. And I got some cool pictures and random hugs from strangers... I like hugs lol.
I didn't really attend any panels this year as there weren't many that interested me, although of course there was one I wanted to go to on Sunday I ended up missing XD
Also got to spend some quality time with 
yousei_sama and get him sucked into the fandom even more, muahahaha
ANYWAYS, so much for a short recap haha. But yeah, despite some minor setbacks, I had a blast, and can't wait for RMFC!

Posted 11 years agoJust looked up the dates for BLFC this year, which I was planning on attending. However, I thought it was gonna be in March again. Nope. This year it's scheduled near the end of May..... The weekend right before finals week ;-;
So even though I absolutely loved it last year and really want to go back, I will not be able to attend BLFC 2015 after all. I will be looking into Califur or possibly RF as a replacement. Or maybe Furlandia, although that would be iffy since it's the weekend after BLFC so I'd basically leave like the day after or the day of my last final. Idk, somewhere on the west coast. If anyone here is going to any of these and would like to suggest one please feel free :3
