Truck Update 4-5-14
General | Posted 11 years agoTruck's done. It's working fine as if nothing's wrong with it. I made an effort to take it around town despite how broken and limping it was and it was hell trying to pull apart a crossmember that was preventing me from getting in underneath. After I shoved my foot up it's ass four times, the truck finally gave in and let me do my thing.
She's back together. Patched, but working fine.

Truck Update 4-2-14
General | Posted 11 years agoTruck's fucked, need a new one. The transmission finally went out on it, it's no longer shifting out of first at all which means I need a new transmission or a rebuilt transmission. To make matters worse, I haven't paid rent yet, we owe tons of money due to dad's misuse of his own dime which I'd have been able to cover for if the truck was still in operation.

Dad Update 3-29-14
General | Posted 11 years agoSo far it looks as though he's finally recovering as he should. We hit another pocket where he wanted to send money to Nigeria again and this time I had to let him find out for himself this one time so he could get his head straight.
While it's not the smartest thing for anyone sane to do, in this case I felt it was necessary to kick start his brain to make him start thinking. He finally did.
Suffice to say, he'll never send money to Nigeria again after a long discussion with him. Now I can get on with what's left of my life and actually come out ahead. Since he's pain free and doesn't have the blood clots he used to have anymore, he's finally able to regain some control over himself that Missouri fucked up with over-medication and under-medication where it really counted. Now that he's on the road to recovery mentally, this is an important step for both of us.
I'll finally be able to work on art a bit more freely, but it'll still be a while before I can trust him with his own money again. We'll see how this goes.
Edit: And before anyone asks, don't worry. I don't need anything immediately because I have everything under control for now.

He's Home
General | Posted 12 years agoDad's finally home after long surgery. The hospital had told me a bunch of stuff that was wrong with him and that he was wheelchair bound and couldn't urinate properly, had to have a catheter so on. Had to have someone give him constant care and supervision, I'd be sponge-bathing him, the works. Yesterday's flight in and out was interesting, had time only to pick him up and go and it was a shame I couldn't call
calypsolaforet while I was there to give a head's up. I got him home and it was a constant struggle like they said it would be, but then I noticed something.
He was ran ragged. They never allowed him to sleep properly.
He was shaking. No cigarette in over a month would do that to you, but so would NO SUGAR.
He has the reverse diabetes. He NEEDS to consume sugar to survive. The hospital treated him like he had standard diabetes.
So, I gave him a Mountain Dew, then another, then another. Gave him cookies and cigarettes.
The fucker is walking like nothing ever happened to him. Sure he's a little woozy on his balance but he's already improving fast. Fuck you, Dallas.

Pot Luck Chance
General | Posted 12 years agoMy vehicle reminded me that it too is mortal in some fashion. Over the last three days the truck was without power, nothing coming on as I tried cranking it the first night and frequently checked afterward (roughly every 12 hours). This morning however the vehicle lit up and started as if there was never anything wrong, so I'm going to take precaution just in case.
As for art. I know I said I've been waiting to post a lot of work. Roughly, I've been waiting until I've actually finished a couple pieces in their entirety before I finish posting all of them.

Regarding Earlier's Stream
General | Posted 12 years agoGonna try again after a while after I've caught some rest. For some reason during the stream I was just zonked inside of a few seconds and I couldn't keep my eyes open. Thank you everyone who showed up, and I'm sorry I couldn't keep it going. Once my net crashed, that sealed the deal. I wasn't putting up with it.
Catch everyone later, I'll throw a logo when I'm ready to try again.

It's Been A While...
General | Posted 12 years agoAs most of you know, I've been keeping silent and doing things that required immediate attention in life while attending streams when I could get a break. Then again, I've even seated myself in these places while I had to again do stuff. One constant question that was brought up, was when I was going to open up for more commissions. I did close up for a while as I tried to frantically find time to finish the few on my table. In fact, I even missed a few drawings and deadlines for October, November, and December. That's a major disappointment to me. It all pins down to one source, one of which consumes all of my time and causes me to hate my relations even more.
Rather than getting into it however since, everyone already knows, I'm going to state that I am open for commissions, but be advised: It's going to take time right now. I still have my list to finish (and update since I knocked two out, need to post one, and finalize three more) but I am slowly carving away at it.
For
vixendefea I'm working on inking yours in stream when I host one. I'll have to get started with a warmup first, but I'll get to it first thing.

General | Posted 12 years agoAnd a Happy New Year.
I'm afraid I can't get any more elaborate than that but I certainly wish everyone a better time than what I am having right now. I was going to hold continual streams this week, but it looks as though my own line of problems aren't going to allow it in any excess. Look forward to it nonetheless.

Update and Stuff
General | Posted 12 years agoThe year is coming to a close and I'm waiting now on just dad to visit the knife. As for what transpired, he would have gone already, because he is lsited under critical condition which means he needs surgery NOW. Unfortunately, Dallas is full of plot holes and twists (I suspect it's Union ran, and those fuckers hate military). The X-Rays alone taken early this year, the surgeon had on his desk as he left and when he went in the next morning they were gone. Over a week later they turned up hidden behind a filing cabinet when he got a wild hair to move stuff around.
This time, the paperwork for his approval for the cardiologist and surgery is lost once again because some fuck in Dallas can't stand to do his job right apparently and wishes to hold up the system. Suffice to say, this has gone on for years, not just with dad, but countless veterans and well, even people who don't have military jobs that are somehow associated with the group. The short joke is "Welcome to Dallas". Despite everything, it still doesn't provide the basic need of him going for surgery in the first place. Once it's done, it's over. He can expect a full recovery which will in short push me out the door and on my way to rebuilding what little life I had. I've got a New Years resolution early this time.
Situation: Dad got us both over $2300 in debt with the additional $1800 debt to loan companies.
Objective: Pay Debts, Rebuild Finances, build funds (by far, this is the hardest one).
Situation: I got an ingenious idea for a desk, and am working on the design right now.
Objective: build Prototype, adjust functionality, patent if workable.
Situation: I'm behind on commissions. Quite simply a lot of time taken up by appointments and bad blood. I can't take any more until these are done.
Objective: First and foremost, catch up.
Added Note: I've been experimenting with doing 1920 x 1080 desktops starting with Sam as the opening experiment. Such screens will cost more than my usual commissions because of the size required, but I want them to look simply beautiful. I also would like to offer a reduced price for color art utilizing my lack-of-lineart style for an average of $25 (Flat) to $30 (semi-shaded). As listed before, I can't do anything until commissions are done so I'll give it some thought during the meantime.
Situation: I hate this apartment and the payments on it. It's too much money for too little shit.
Objective: Since my credit score is in the clear now, I'll have to wait before I can finance a home.
Situation: My truck is still in Missouri. I only need a grand total of $700 ($800 to eat while out) to retrieve the vehicle. Retrieval was made easier after finding an $80 tow bar.
Objective: Wait it out and see how "build funds" objective works, collect truck.
That seems to be the sum total for the new year. Other objectives and situations are on hold from last several years. These include game making, music development, and Art progression is still in progress.
Thanks for reading.

Spoke Too Soon
General | Posted 12 years agoI definitely spoke too soon about being able to catch up so readily in the game. I was able to pay rent but this was due to an error and dad took full advantage of that error which left us even way farther behind. He finally turned in his bank card after arguing with him for months, but only because he finally realized that instead of cleaning up the mess, he dug himself even deeper with his compulsive spending. I can salvage the damage still, but it's going to take longer and rather than sweat it out, I'm going to take my time and get ready to cushion the fall just before it happens.
I'm hoping he finally learned his lesson. I doubt it, so I'm still going through with other measures. I got stuff I need to finish before I start taking commissions again. If I can finally catch a break dealing with all of this, I'll be able to stream. I keep hoping, but I haven't been due to the garbage dumped on me since October. Then there's a new monkey wrench. Dad goes in for surgery some time before Christmas. We have appointments out the ass because they're trying to get him all cleared out before he goes in.
This surgery is a Laminectomy. They're basically going to carve out his upper spine throughout his neck to clear the major damage caused by a garage door that broke his neck six years ago and add cushioning to the bone. Missouri dropped the ball and let it go stating "Oh at your age you're gonna have aches and pains". The VA of Lubbock who had originally started citing this changed their tune when they had a clear look at the damage.
Needless to say, Missouri is responsible for a lot of shit, and the Lubbock VA even told me that the whole situation with his neck, the stroke and the medications Missouri had him on is why he's really addled. From what I'm also being told, this is a side effect that the surgery will correct. We'll see, but until then I have to remind dad that I don't want him to even breathe a dime until this mess is straightened.

Phew
General | Posted 12 years agoAlready this early in the game I'm catching up again. Hopefully no more terrible events will befall me so readily. Bills are paid, expect some streams this month to catch up on a lot of things. Also, get ready, when I finish my current projects I'm going to be posting a lot of art.
Lighten Up! (F5)

Monthly Failure
General | Posted 12 years agoYup, the dumb fuck managed to do it again, this time I don't know how. Either way, I'm covered, but now I'm having to pull a dirty plan. I wont tell him that I saved my ass, but I want him to understand the scope of the damage he caused. It was at least $4,000 worth of damage that I can't pay back all in one shot. I mean, I could manage with about $500 a month payments which is about eight months of payments. But, to do so is to say the least, frustrating. As long as he keeps finding ways to cheat the system, he makes it impossible for me to absolve these debts. I doubt he'll ever learn his lesson unless I take drastic measures and it was done too soon before the gubberment could finalize that he is indeed incompetent with his own money.
The trick so far, I could easily say the land lords say we must be out by 19'th, drop him off at his brother's and let them deal with him. Since Wayne has his own income, all they have to do is let dad be continually stupid, grin, and laugh their asses off at him. As for me, it's a good question. I got another month at least, but I need a serious break from all this shit. I wouldn't be ripping hair out if dad wasn't a stupid fuck with money. Scammers all over the world love doddering old fools, and he's a golden cash cow as far as they're concerned.
As I said, I'm covered, got bills paid or are paying, gonna enjoy another month at least and see if I can fuck with his head some more.

Looking For That New Place to Crash
General | Posted 12 years agoAs always, it was my plan last year to get family situated before moving on completely. Now it comes time I have to do so, albeit much differently than I originally expected. I need new residence, one far away from family. The down side is, no money. Thanks, dad. I gotta work this out at some point, because it's pretty obvious he's going to be getting surgery soon in which they will be performing a Laminectomy on his upper spine to re-establish full control in his left side, among other parts (which is the cause of his wobbling around). I don't need to be around him after that. Simply put I just want to finish cutting off ties to family.
Full Day Tomorrow
General | Posted 12 years agoShipping dad off like he's a rack of meat. At 6:40 am in the morning he has to be at the airport and I pick him up at around 6 pm in the evening.
Fun. Either way, I've been keeping out of action as of late due to this bizarre scheduling and it's been irritating the crap out of me. I've got five days to finish a detail I've been wanting to work on. This constant running around hasn't been helping.

More Good News
General | Posted 12 years agoBills are paid. I'm online.
Extended story is that I was expecting to get cut off today before anything could happen. Sure enough, I managed to get approved for another small loan and I'm able to pay these off. I might have to work something out later, but I can do it. I'll be able to resume normal work shortly. Expect more frequent streaming in the near future.

Tried For Internet, Failed
General | Posted 12 years agoCouldn't get another loan for taking care of the internet bill. All I need is about $200 to pull it off or spend about $600 on the first to reinstate it.
I was already aware of this being enforced, but the main thing that was important was taking care of the rent. This is just so everyone knows what happens to me if I lose touch for the next two weeks (15 or so days) without a word. During that time I can continue my work. I was hoping to stream while I had the chance but it doesn't look like I've got much of a choice. I keep getting up to much or sleeping too late, part of the residual from dealing with looking for solutions that first 10 days.
I'll keep checking around for another deal, but with the way Paypal is, even if I get it in there I wont be able to pay it anyway. Don't worry about that. I knew ahead of time I'd have to deal with the flack of dad's stupidity. My contact until the first is gonna be kept minimal at best. We'll see how this works out.

General | Posted 12 years agoYou guys. I. Fucking. Love you.
Everyone who contributed right down to the lowest amount, you have my appreciation. If not for that lowest contributor, I would not have succeeded. It was literally down to the pennies when all was said and done but because of every one of you, I keep my home.
I'm gonna relax now. No more sleepless nights.

I May Have It...
General | Posted 12 years agoOf course, total everyone sent came up to a little over $400. I hadn't thought about it then, but this actually came as a key to unlock a door. All of you have actually helped and in all honesty it may be more than enough. I can't say for sure at this point, but I will say that with this money I can pay off one of dad's cell phone bills and use it in order to get a payday loan. This was the only last requirement we needed in order to finalize our $800 loan at one place. It was a much bigger help than you guys realize. Hell, I didn't even realize it until now. I may be a little pressed in paying it all back, but as long as dad can't send money to Nigeria, I should be able to cover all costs.
D:
Crafty fox is crafty. I'll keep in touch and let all of you know if it works out. Then we can talk about my current owed commissions as well as what I can do to either pay you guys back or draw up something. It's been a while since I've done a multi-character piece with five or more persons in it. It's only one of many things on the table.

Little Things
General | Posted 12 years agoSomething I learned recently. Just don't assume the worst when you don't hear from your agent for a while. During the early week as of the second when I was supposed to get paid again through my investment, they had said they were running late with payments and had to wait until Monday. Monday came and no show. The message immediately following was that they were caught in the middle of a shooting and the agent handling my case was witness to it.
I suspected something going on then, as I tried to find information via the web. Of course, more information came from the company itself which afterward they warned they would have to shut down power. Until today, I heard nothing during that entire week. Today it was reported on the news that the facility itself had power cut and raiders destroyed the equipment at that facility. 6 dead and 18 wounded, in which following information matched the report that the company itself gave me during that day.
Given everything that I was told, turns out it wasn't a scam, just that for whatever reason everything I put into has some really bad luck. I find myself asking a question that I believe either Axel or Rage asked of me at some point; "What deity did you piss off?"
I had to wonder this for the sum of three days so far, but I had already been asking this question for years before. As for the people injured and dead, it suffices to say that it's a dangerous place where they are. My sentiment goes to them.

No Change
General | Posted 12 years agoNo such luck. In order to borrow money, need a cell phone in our name. So I really am dependent on the money people sent to me. I'm glad in a way, because as long as I can get that I might lose net, but if I can get this done, I wont lose my house. This is assuming I don't have another bastard charge hit me like they usually do. This coming from the fact that paypal had limited me in the first place.
Attempted Fix
General | Posted 12 years agoWish me luck guys, I'll provide an update if I get any good news for a change.
Realizations Followup
General | Posted 12 years agoOf course, I guess someone got a misconception. I am NOT caught up just yet, I only have a portion of what I owe. Just today as well, Paypal wanted me to resolve an issue where I need to confirm my identity and proof of address. I went ahead and did just that, so we'll see what happens. Everyone of you who pitched in, again I can't thank you enough so I still need to collect names of everyone who did. Most of you I know, but a couple of you I can't peg out from paypal.
Some good news is, even if I come short, the bank does have a buffer where I can overdraw a certain amount that can be paid back at the end of the month. I think it's only $200 or something though. I continue to wish things went differently, but nothing will change it. I also had the misfortune of driving myself sick this time. All I can do while I'm down is keep looking into paperwork that I need in order to get myself out of this. I got of course, only one more thing to try.

Realizations
General | Posted 12 years agoPeople have been coming out of the woodwork in order to assist on this problem. You guys have no idea how grateful I am/have been throughout the entire situation. the issue that comes up next is that even if I did get everything in my paypal, I'm stuck on a limit switch ($500) due to the fact that my account is still pretty much verified for basic. this means that by the time I get it, I still have to find a way to secure an additional $500 by the time I get the funds anyway.
About that, I am very close to hitting that Paypal cap thanks to the donations from friends and influences. Again, I've been more than grateful of the help and I'll be carrying forward with two projects. Again, all I will need are names as well as characters and faces attached to them. I still have a list of commissions ahead of the project, so I'll likely be working on the project bit by bit over the course of the remaining two months (two projects, one for November, and the other for December).
We've tried, but the VA/DAV are completely useless which is what we had feared in the first place. The renters will not even take a half payment in agreement of paying the other half later. I've never heard of an outfit that does this but last I checked, by law they have to accept it. I'll try again to get them to accept it and if not, I will likely have to lawyer up. As is, I always start by gathering information. First and foremost, I'd be an idiot if I didn't ask questions.
Edit: Followup, of course is that I've gotten a few items I need to try and borrow a little extra. I hate payday loans because they're difficult to get out of, especially in my father's case. I practically have no alternative now.

Alternate Route Followup
General | Posted 12 years agoAmid finding solutions I've talked with the people I'm renting. the lady at the desk is uncooperative and unwilling to even give me a phone number when I asked for it. She has been unwavering in that I have to have money by the 19'th or I am out. Day by day, this rent increases by $10, currently set at $977.74. Tomorrow, $987.74.
That is currently the only major concern I have, as I'll have to deal with the net some other way. I've been unsuccessful in getting a loan, as certain requirements they have, the veterans administration can't simply supply. It seems more and more this place hates vets apparently.
Tomorrow, I have only two more places to try. I don't count on a whole lot, but I've been very appreciative of those of you who have been pitching in to help. I wish I could say it were enough. It's making a slight dent, but the fact of the matter is, it still can't keep me in home. Next, I'm informed that even if I am evicted, because of the contract dad signed, they could tack another $15,000 charge on top of what we already owe because we "breached contract".
I have never heard of any place logically doing this. So what I'll be doing is bringing that up tomorrow if I can talk to someone, anyone in fact.
