Anyone playing/planning on playing? Anyone know if there's a Furry Guild?

Just trying to find folks that are going to Maltese Furcon on Aug 1-3. This is a convention being set up by  Rourkie and co, long time convention goer and experienced conventioneer ™. It's a great con with a mystery twist that I'll be volunteering at. The hotel rates and such are set up, as well as many events.

Hey all!

Although they haven't announced the conrates for the room. I live close by to this newly arrived con. I'm interested in attending (and likely helping out). I live close, but not close enough to routinely travel from the hotel to home on the three days, so I'm looking for room or crash space. I should be able to split the costs of the room with other folks. Would anyone be willing to have a gator come along (I don't snore).

Hey everyone! It's Khorax again.

As some of you may know, back at the end of 2012, I moved to the city of Boston, Mass. I moved here because, quite frankly, the job prospects up here are considerably better than Florida or Providence, and I know a few furs and bears in the area. I have made some good friends here, and would like to stay in town as long as possible. Boston is a large city, with a lot of smaller towns in the Greater Boston Area, which is where I would like to stay. I think I could settle down here and be very happy.

As it stands, however, my current living situation was never meant to be long-term, and my stay here is almost up. Come the end of June, I will need to have a place to move to. While I honestly wish to stay in Boston, if push comes to shove, I can move anywhere in the US. My current roommate is willing to purchase me a ticket to anywhere, if need be. I'd rather not be homeless.

So, I'm putting the word out there that I'm looking for a place to live: a room, preferably. I can pay rent, though I wouldn't want to pay more than $500-$550/mo if possible . It's likely that I will have to find a new job once I move out, but I'm resourceful, friendly and have a good employment record. Most of my past employers will say great things. I have no fear that I'll be able to find a basic job wherever I move, and if it's more long-term, I can continue my job search to something a bit stronger.

I do not have a car, and have to rely on public transportation to get to and fro. I'm both an extrovert and introvert. I love my moments alone, but also enjoy sharing with other people. I'm fine with pets, and do not really smoke or drink, though I may partake on rare occasion. I do not mind if my roommate does either. I'm generally an evening person, although I try not to stay up too late. My work schedule usually determines when I'm active. I enjoy cooking from time to time, and if I cook, I may share with others, depending on my food budget.

So.. That's it. Anyone in the Boston area looking for a roommate? Anyone out there who can offer crash space if not?

Most of my commissions will likely show up here, as I still feel that Weasyl treats non-artists like second class citizens. I understand that it's an art site, and that's great for artists, but I still feel the same way I feel about how writers on FA were treated like for the longest time.

Yes, I understand how they do have logical reasoning behind this. I've also been told by multiple admins that they will or will not actually enforce the rules that they provide. I've gotten different answers from different people, and that gives me zero faith that the site won't end up as screwed up as people claim FA is.

Other sites that have claimed to be 'just for art' have come and gone. I do like -some- of Weasyl's features. I hate the rest. I have voiced such and nothing has been changed since. The site angers me a little, in that it comes across as pretentious. I would have preferred an -option- to use these features, not a requirement.

I have moved to Burlington, MA (Just north of Boston and Woburn, MA), and now have a new job! It's Seasonal, but better than nothing, and it has the possibility for long-term employment! Thanks to all those whom have put up with me while I've been unemployed and I look forward to hanging out and meeting all the local wildlife here in Mass!

The Furry Gaming Alliance is a group- and game-neutral site dedicated towards bringing furs together and forming a central hub for finding furry guilds, players and groups towards gaming. Although a bit spartan now, they offer forums, TeamSpeak chat and a number of other features, such as Steam game news and other gaming updates. They also run occasional contests towards giving away some really awesome items.

If you have a guild, or are looking for other, fellow players, stop on by and make a post, or offer a suggestion. If you have a game guide, feel free to email the site's email address, and the sites owners will be glad to post it to the site! The site plans on smoothing out a lot of these processes and is fairly in its infancy, but it's a great site. I just wanted to let everyone know an update on my living situation. I'll be moving on Dec 28 to head up to Boston, and from there, Providence, Rhode Island. A fur has granted me a place to live for an indefinite amount of time, and I think that being in a city once again will be good for me. West Virginia is beautiful, but job prospects are limited to manual labor, and I don't feel as young and spry as I once did. Thank you  kint and  sasuke for getting this set up. I'll technically be living in Edgewood.

I also wanted to give a shout out to all those people whom offered me an emergency or secondary place to stay. I'd list them here, but most of them were temporary offers, or had other prospects. Seriously. You've made me rethink just how many friends I've made over the years. You all are wonderful, and I love each and every one of you. Words cannot express my appreciation or how touched I am at the kindness. Thank you.

My current roommate is looking for work in the IT field by the end of the year, should he not find one, he will no longer be able to afford to live here, and I cannot foot the rent bill on my own. That being said. there is no real network of furs within Bridgeport, WV, and I can't afford a place on my own. That being said, I need help.

I have 45 days to find a new place to live. I'd prefer Pittsburgh or somewhere in Pennsylvania that has public transport and places to work (I work best in Customer service or in a call center environment). I'm honest, kind, and responsible. I have interests in tabletop Roleplaying and board games, paranormal thrillers and action/adventure movies, rock and 80s music, and PC RPGs and Sims.

I won't have a lot of money for the move, and it may take me a month or so to find a job, but I am saving up money for the move. I'm putting this out because without this, I am not sure if I'll have a place to live, and would prefer not to spend my first winter up north freezing in the snow. For the record, I can't move in with my parents. My father left when I was a child, and my Mother can't afford either the space or money for me to move back in (she's living in a single room herself).

If anyone knows of anyone looking for a roommate, or is willing to pass this journal along so that it gets spread, please help me out a bit here. I'm getting to the desperate state of things, and if I don't find something soon, I don't know what I will do. I don't want to be homeless. I have a job and everything.

Thanks to  JTur, and his valiant efforts in finding me a Hard Drive, and persistence in putting it together, I now have a new PC! This means that I can finally game with my friends online! :3 I am downloading some of the games as I type this and should be done with them all by the end of the week.

I now have an icon for handsome subby chubskunk Donovan (thanks to  bravo) In all his hypnotized, musk-addled glory. He's such a good skunk. So cute, so nice.. And if it wasn't for inspiration from  bravo, he might not exist. The world needs more glasses-wearing hypnoskunks. Yes. @.@

 bravo is a heavily support of it as well. ;D I'm pretty sure he's the one who invented it. For the whole month, I'll be my Skunk, Donovan.. Woo!

EDIT: I was mistaken, like a horrible fanboy. It's Skunktember and, I believe, Foxtober. Still, I'll be a Skunk until the end of October.. or longer.. who knows.

I guess I'll hop on the bandwagon

Well, it happened. I turned 30. I have grey hairs pop up in my messy mop and beard, and I have the strange craving to tell children to get off my lawn. I'm still in West Virginia, and things between  JTur and me are going well. Here's to hoping it stays that way. I've had a few job offers, and something very promising for October.

Over the next year, I'm going to take stock of myself. I need work. Most importantly, I need to spread my horizons. I've stayed in Florida for too long and missed out on some of the wonders outside of the state. I'll miss my friends, naturally, but I need to grow, meet new people, and see where I fit in the world, or find a way to bend the world so that I fit.
