Happy Perihelion! (Jan 2)

I was unable to stream last night as I had an accident Saturday that resulted in a visit to the ER. The accident was one heavy drawer dropping on my right middle toe while I was busy in the kitchen -- X-rays show there's nothing broken there, but the top of the digit is grape-purple and there is some swelling. I spent New Years in the waiting room at the hospital, but at least my coug'r was there with me.

I'm to be watchful that I don't develop a fever or other signs of infection, keep the toe taped together with its twin, take ibuprofen (400mg) and keep the foot elevated as often as I can. The result of this is my body is now thrown into Heal-Mode: in other words, I slept most of today, waking for nibbles of food and lots of water. I'm likely to be doing this the rest of this week or until my body thinks it doesn't need to be on high alert Heal-Mode anymore. The good news is that since there's no breakage, my body's naturally fast recovery recovery system means I'm likely to be wearing normal shoes for the con and not my Walking Boot.

Sunday Streams may begin in a week, but more importantly I'll be starting Thursday Streams as well. And as I will be working Further Confusion 2017, that stream may necessarily be bumped to Monday. Look here for details and changes! :D

This is the last Sunday before Finals for the Fall Quarter at De Anza College, and I have a massive term paper to write for my online Political Science class... thankfully, next quarter is nothing but art classes so I shouldn't have this issue come January. :)

I had a guest arrive that I needed to attend to, so I'm starting late. I really need to find a different day for this.

I went to attend a birthday event for a friend, figuring that I'd be gone a couple of hours and then jump into streaming..... well, we came home and as I sat down on the couch, I got nap-attacked and passed out for a few hours. Sorry about this, folks, I'll make up for it next week.

Today is a test run, but I will try to stream on Tuesdays and Fridays during the week. Sometimes I will draw on the computer, sometimes with paper and pencils, sometimes (like today) I'll be doing some ceramic work.

I am finally done with the heaviest workload in school I've done so far -- 19 credits, which included two online courses.I am currently working on art for Further Confusion. You heard that right: I'm returning to putting things in the Art Show, both 2D and 3D stuff. After I finished Sting's canopic jar, there was an "intervention" at my house.... I had been going to school to get a business degree as I thought I needed it to get a decent job, but my friends confronted me with the fact that I love making art. Most of my friends didn't know I could sculpt at all as they hadn't seen me do it. I've been out of practice but used to do clay and sculpey pieces. So.... now I'm focusing my schooling at a Liberal Arts degree focused on Ceramics... I'll post some images of my first ceramic pieces in 30 years from the class I just finished. Right now, I'm just happy that I can sleep in for the next few weeks. :)

Okay, I've posted pictures as I go along, they're in my Scrap area. I've gotten to the base paint stage and now I'm unsure if hard-gloss black is the way to go... I'll take suggestions. There will be gold on top of this coat, so don't worry about the details.
