I'm tired of being sad all the time, or disappointed all the time. I'm tired of trying and pushing and not really getting anywhere meaningful.
I'm not made for this. There's an environmental change that's happened over the internet, and I'm just not built to process it.

Updates
Posted 10 months agoReally not much to say.
I haven't been in a very healthy mental state since Thanksgiving. Everything we own is currently in storage, our odds of finding affordable living are slim to nill, and I just can't find any motivation to draw or be excited about things.
I'm doing everything I can to provide for my daughter, but it just feels like I'm failing at everything.
I've been accepted to Motor City Fur Con's Artist Alley, but I can't seem to be excited for it. It just all feels...I don't know...Useless maybe?
Not trying to down anybody, but just trying to be open and honest.

We could really use help to pay for boxes, uhaul rental, gas money, food...everything. We need to have everything packed and moved within the next week, and I'm just really overwhelmed. It's all happening so fast.

While it's been a difficult decision, we here of the ZukiArts' team have come to the decision to raise the prices of commissioned items. It is always of upmost importance to bring the highest quality to any item made. With the loss of materials, we've had to make a huge jump in procuring an entirely new product. Regathering these new supplies after many many years with the old has been a gigantic risk, but also a necessity.
New prices will be set for release May 12th. If you'd like a commission done at current prices, please reach out prior to the aforementioned date.
We hope you'll stick with us during this transition,

Life Update
Posted a year agoI'm honestly not sure what I'm going to do. If you're unaware, Prismacolour has discontinued it's markers (of which I use for all traditional pieces). That being said I find myself in the terrible position if having to rebuild my markers from scratch. Copic are my best option, but obviously very expensive. I need the markers to make the money to afford the markers.
So with every Prisma marker that dies, so does a piece of myself and my sanity.
I've been contemplating other things to sell such as paintings, repainted Funkos/LPS, or even bead animals, but I'm just at an absolute loss. The only other things I have are original personal pieces, but the idea of selling those is awful.
I feel like I'm going to implode from the stress...
Anyways. Just wanted to update everyone on the current state of things.

Please read the below TOS prior to commissioning:
The Artist: Cailin Murre/ZukiArts
General overview:
When placing a commission, references or detailed description of character will be required (unless stated otherwise). Initial sketch will be done and reviewed by customer prior to payment. At this point, any details or adjustments can be made. Payment is required to continue passed this step. Once payment has been received, work will be continued to completion. Item will then be sent (if applicable).
Further detail:
Please ensure all references and expectations are clear and accurate.
Client may request updates or progress shots at any time, and minor changes can be made for free. Any changes passed line work phase will require a fee per edit that will be noted to customer and require payment before work continues. This is not the case when the fault lies on the artist, such as mistake on a marking from the original references submitted for example.
Work on an item will not be completed past the draft phase prior to payment. All images under $80(USD) must be paid in full unless otherwise agreed in private. Payment plans are welcome.
Once the piece is complete, the image will be email or PM/DM in a high resolution image. The artist claims all rights to post image to their social media, or use image for advertisement of services. If client would not like to grant these permissions, additional fees will be included with total price. It is recommended this be discussed prior to work's completion. After 3 days of sending the final image, edits become "re-dos", and will be charged as if they are a separate commission.
Complete and incomplete commissions (aka WIP) must never be traced, reproduced, or edited without artist's permission.
Commissions are for personal use only (such as: posting on social media, using as profile images or headers, print for display on posters, cards, phone/desktop backgrounds, personal badges, or as gifts for friends and/or family at no monetary gain to you or anyone else).
The artist retains copyright of work at all times.
Unless the Image Rights are agreed between the client and artist, and a Copyright transfer contract is signed, The distribution of the commissioned image/s for profit will be a violation of copyright and possibly result in legal actions.
The artist will not use your finished image for profit or redistribution without consent or prior agreement.
The client retains trademark on character/s in the commission always.
Payment and Returns:
Payments are processed via Paypal, Venmo, or Zelle.
In the event work must be cancelled for personal reasons, please inform the artist as soon as possible. Refunds for fair compensation will directly relate to how much the work has already been completed, and issued accordingly.
If the final, refined work has already been provided, the payment will not be returned.
No full refunds will be processed after the piece (60% completed or higher) has been sent or shared with the client.
If a chargeback is filed unbeknownst to the artist, or without attempts to contact prior, the client forfeits refund and will be permanently blacklisted from future commissions.
In case of cancellation on my part, a refund and an apology will be issued.
Payments not paid within 7 days of request will receive a reminder, after an additional 7 days with no response, the commission will be dropped, and opened for the next interested client.
The artist reserves the right to refuse service to anyone as well as any commission requests they feel are outside of their abilities or comfort zone.

Vacation Time Bay-BEE!

With any luck, I'm going to complete a personal challenge next month called 'Ani-May.' The goal is to draw a character a day from a set of my favourite animes. I tried to stick strictly to shows, however I slipped in a few movies that were particularly influential over the years~

A Friend of Mine Is Dying...

His name is Jose. He has stage 4 lymphoma cancer, and as of right now the doctors have given up. After the chemo wasn't working, the next stretch is to try CBD oil treatment.
If I've seemed a little distant lately, this is one reason why.

My life is rather chaotic. Without going into too much detail, I haven't a lot of time to play on my laptop. That being said:
-- I will only offer 3 digital commissions PER MONTH! (excluding Patrons of Patreon)
-- Due to my busy schedule, any and all nagging, bad mouthing, or hassling will cause your commission to be refunded for 80% of the cost.

Many apologies on my sudden disappearance! As Spring Break is going on for all the kiddies in my area, I had to work 7 days in a row (a couple of those clopining shifts [clopining = closing and then opening the next morning]).
Neways! I'm back for a day or 2, but will be gone April 6-9th for Motor City Fur Con. I'll be aiming for Artist Alley on Friday for sure, but other than that I'll more than likely just be meandering about. Feel free to HMU if you see me!
I'm going to try getting a couple of commissions completed today and tomorrow, but I can't make promises on how much I'll be able to finish as I'm currently working from a local bookstore. Just having some life issues, and the bookstore provides me with a little freedom from it, if only for a time (not to mention lovely peppermint mochas!).
So, I think that's about all I have to update everyone on...Oh! Right!!
In July, my boyfriend and a close friend of mine will be headed to visit
13dice for a couple days! Totally stoked to hang and maybe suit about. Should be a good time. I'll try and get pictures, but I'm so airheaded I tend to forget lol
