I am making a new project
Posted 3 months agoI will be putting most of the old stuff on scraps now because I did'nt like the direction things were going here, also because I got a new project idea!
More dinomask adventures
Posted 4 months agoYeah I caved in and added ears BUT they are small and on the side kinda like a cow's. I'm thinking about adding horns too but I can't make clay horns myself because of allergies (and also want clay horns specifically because of the hard texture).
Oh and I learned how to make a basic plush tail! I made a prototype out of cotton and now will try to make the real deal

Adventures with my dinomask
Posted 6 months agoSo, I recently bought a Dinomask to customize and Frankenstein into my first fursuit. There's lot's of firsts here, I had never worked with plastic, acrylic or done anything major to anything else other than notebooks. But I am having a lot of fun making my Dinomask!
The first challenge was deciding what fursona would get a spotlight, I knew it had to be a lizard of some kind. I know some people can make canines with dinomasks but it's so easy to mess up and end with something that looks uncanny! I especially dislike the idea of adding big ears, it just looks like a dino with ears and not a canine. In the end I settled for a fake species I made on Spore but a species isn't really a character is it?
After a lot of designs and redesigns I finally landed on the colors of the face and will be moving to the neck piece. Once I am done I will have one last problem to deal with: Classify it as Avian or Scalie XD

My experiences with social media and art
Posted 7 months agoI am not big into social media, to the point where I be like a grandma, but I did notice the difference between certain apps. Over the years I have used Amino, Reddit, Deviant art and then here to post my art and gotta say, Furaffinity is straight up better.
Amino was great, really felt like I had my own corner of the internet. Got to build a micro community and it could have become something (if I didn't ditch it) but the key word here is was. I went to check the same groups I was in back in the day and my god is a Amino dead. Even the Pokémon Amino was a total wasteland and that saddens me a lot.
Reddit is great for groups, but terrible for building yourself as an individual. No one ever checked your profile unless the were stalking or wanted to do a comeback. You only existed the moment you posted inside a subreddit and that was that. Conversations were all arguments, fun.
Deviant art was by far the worst though. Growing up I was always told Deviant art was the place for small artists to post and talk about things. The place for the weird and experimental. I guess that was true one day. I am not saying the art has gotten worse (it has gotten better), what I mean is Deviant art is real hard to grow as an artist. It took me ages just to get 3 followers and I was lucky if my posts got any traction. It felt really bad whenever I would make a comment and no one answered (and that was always the case).
Just in one day of posting here I feel like I am in Amino again. I mean, I got my own journal, what is this the 2010s XD? I wonder if others have gotten different experiences with these other apps. If you are reading this and you do, feel free to share :D.

Them legs
Posted 7 months agoI have spent like, the last week or so trying to draw a ballerina doing a pose. This wouldn't be taking long if it wasn't for the way I have been drawing legs. I don't know if this leg design has an oficial name, like digitgrade, I just call it the critter leg XD
After drawing and re drawing I finally got somewhere with the bod, new legs afoot!
If you are curious about my art style, I learned how to draw pretty convincing 80s style Carebears for a Tumblr blog I had. Ever since I got this skill my art style has changed to be even more plump than it already was. I hope I continue to evolve, maybe one day I will have some guts to do comms.
