alright, I'm in a bit of a bind here. I'd really like to get into book editing, and I'm having trouble actually finding a way to get into the business. I love reading, I'm an extremely quick reader, I've taken honors level English courses, and I'm very detail oriented. I can even notice mistakes in novels that have gone unnoticed for years in published novels by big name authors. I know there are a lot of people here, and I was hoping that at least one or two of you might have contacts that could help me out, especially if it's something that I could do from home, as I've been without work for a while and really don't have the means to travel. I don't have any work experience in the field, but I have done some work in with books in libraries, and would love to become an editor. Thank you in advance for any help or advice you guys can offer.

my damn cat peed on a bag of my stuff...including a sketchbook half full of art from various artists. anybody know of any way to clean the binding and cover? i think i've gotten the cover pretty good, maybe i just need to trim the edges of the pages...i'd hate to lose all of that art :( so much to clean -..-

I just recently saw a journal about a 'support chic-fil-a' day, which went on about how it was a christian organization and should be supported by good christians. i would like to point out that 1) no company has the right to discriminate against ANYBODY for any reason whatsoever, 2) the bible says that you should love thy neighbor, not 'love thy neighbor, unless they are gay, in which case make their life a living hell' and 3) the only passages against homosexuality (assuming that they weren't mistranslated, which most of the bible is) are in leviticus, which also promotes stoning people to death, forbids wearing mixed fibers, eating pork or seafood, and promotes owning slaves. not only is there a lot of mistranslation in the bible, but it has been edited uncounted times to promote political agendas. don't believe me? i'll give you a simple example. "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." when the bible was written, there was a distinction between practitioners of light or dark magic. the original passage is more along the lines of 'thou shalt not suffer the presence of a practitioner of dark magic.' guess what? it was a king of england who had an issue with all magic, and decided to change the translation to mean any practitioner of magic. so when a COMPANY decides that they can discriminate against any group of people, that means to me that they are NOT good christians at all. so, if any of you out there decide that you want to support somebody who says that one group of people shouldn't have the same rights that they already enjoy, then you can go ahead and unfriend me, because i want nothing to do with you.

i have a room booked for fcn, king sized bed with pull out sofa, and so far i have shouta, his sister, and myself in there. i'd like 1-2 more for the room, booked friday-monday. all i ask is no room parties, and respect your roommates. i do ask for payment on the first night, we all know how easy it is to loose track of how much you've spent at a con, i'll divide the cost up evenly between however many people we get total.

well, enough is enough! it's been a week and nothing has been done! i watch an artist over on furaffinity by the name of rukis, and she's been doing a comic called red lantern. and yes, it is about what the name suggests. a week ago, somebody decided to join dA under the name redlantern-comic, [link] and of course, somebody noticed this and told rukis about it right away. this is NOT rukis, and in fact, rukis made a journal in which she said that this wasn't her, that they were a thief, and that she didn't have and won't get a dA account. [link] myself, and quite a few others reported this account for art theft, and identity theft, including linking them to that journal. deviant art staff replied a day later, this is what they said:

i then told them that people were requested to report it, and that there are legal consequences to allowing them to stay on, which they have completely ignored. so, enough is enough, if deviantart doesn't want to do anything, then people need to know. make sure that any artists you know who don't use deviantart know that their art isn't safe, because the site won't protect your rights unless you have an account here.

today, my parents had to put down one of their cats. while i don't live with them, i do live near enough that i'm over all the time, and i've (more or less) lived with her for nearly 13 years. she's been going downhill for the past few months, and hasn't eaten in a few days. today she wasn't even moving, and barely breathing, so even if they hadn't already been planning to take her into the vet today, they would have had to anyways. goodbye, bailey, you will be missed.
