I hope your day finds you well. For those of you in the Sacramento area, we may be having an impromptu BBQ. More information on this as it becomes organized.

I'm officially a quarter century old, and am AMAZED at the amount of people who has contacted me today. Frankly, I'd forgotten that I knew so many people in the first place!

Still working on my audio recap of the last decade. Finding news clips of some events, such as Michael Jordan retiring, have been surprisingly difficult to find online. I may just have to announce the events myself.

When I think of the last ten years, here's a series of memories that come to mind. I'm feeling rather poetic. Ten years in 343 words.

Loss of gravity. Death. First Kiss. New home. Fresh warm towels. The beaches of Hawaii. Pale, thin, wonderful lady legs. A pigskin. Throwing a man through a locker. Justice for the picked on. Limelights. Spotlights. Stage freight. Friends. A box of six sided dice. A shady corner in a fantasy pub. First love. Nerds abound. Cartoon art. Curling up with someone warm. Moving. New place. Dorm life. Alcohol. 20 years and no one has learned to share.

Late nights talking on the phone under a street light. Rage. Loss. Distrust. Cliff diving. Cold, fresh water. My first time preforming stand up in front of a live audience. Sweat. Hopping a train from Philidelphia to New York and not answering my phone for two months. Leaving California to go backpacking for a week. Bright lights. Friends and family visiting when I was terribly sick. Couch surfing. A camp of drunken gypsies. People pretending to be vampires.

Queen of hearts. An absinthe party with Amanda Palmer. Sneaking backstage during a Regina Spektor concert. The thump, sweat, lights, and energy of happy hardcore. A small blue pill with a dolphin on it. Watching a glow stick die out. The splash of harsh green light when a glow stick breaks.

The birth of my little brother. My first piece of fan art. Camping on the edge of earth and water. Chasing a dream. Living together. Chicken Tagine. Trying to find happiness through work. Failing. Wine. Lots of deep, red wine. Burgers and Fries at a fancy restaurant. Sleeping for three days straight. Realizing that, somehow, I've begun to care about someone again. Undermining a connection with my own hang ups. Realizing that I am not infallible. Realizing everyone is not out to get me.

Losing my first major job. Joining my friends. A smelly house. Getting by. Being happy with nothing. A beautiful belly dancer, all curves and hope. A clay bowl. Standing up for myself and quitting an unreasonable job. Adventures in southern California. Realizing that I've become a bit of a neo-hippy. My favorite red wine.

Dear Internet,

In two days, I turn 25.

This may not seem like much to some of you. I'm sure I will get plenty of responses along the lines of "You're so young" or "Wait until you hit 40". But the crux of the issue is that I'm not you.

I'm me.

I haven't turned 40. I'm turning 25, and that's the quarter century mark. Unlike previous birthdays, this is the first one that has made my spine tingle and consider taking a day to look back on the last few years. Glance over my past decisions. Figure out what I want to be when I hit 30 and what I need to do to get there.

In honor of my birthday, I've decided to do a retrospective on the past ten years and what has happened, both personally and abroad. By year.

I should be posting it sometime today. Look for it soon. :)

That convention was insane. It has definitely been far too long since I've seen some of you guys. Here are the highlights.

-Stand Up Comedy went well. I don't remember most of what I said on stage, but then subsequently had most of it quoted back to me over the course of the convention.

-The $1 sketches went over splendidly. I drew over a hundred of those bastards.

-Thrivus being nice enough to let me share her Dealer's table.

-Norm McDonald crashing the furry convention...and proving himself to be the creepiest guy there.

-Hanging out with two of my favorite ladies, Lizardbeth and Chival, who I haven't seen in YEARS.

-Singing "Under my Skin" by Frank Sinatra, with the live band in the lobby.

-CRASHING THE HITACHI CONVENTION AFTERWARDS!!


All in all, this is a pretty awesome convention.

I've been slammed with requests to do Stand Up Comedy at Rainfurrest or Anthrocon. We shall see, we shall see.

I can feel the excitement bubbling. It's been a very long time since I had a weekend at a hotel with so many friends.

"Losers on Stage", the FC Stand Up Comedy show, is going to be better than ever before. We have a killer line up.

Devin will be joining us once again, followed by Patrick James, then myself. Being on stage with Patrick is frankly terrifying for me; he's a very well known Bay Area comic, and is hysterical. I expect him to wipe the floor with the rest of us.

Which, of course, means that I have to give a whoop ass show this year. Check. Let's do this.

We will be preforming Friday @ 8pm in the Reagent Club, at Further Confusion

Hello everyone!

I'm excited to say that I will be doing Stand Up Comedy Friday at Further Confusion!!

Devin and I managed to snag a swanky stage slot in a club-like atmosphere at the new hotel. I was taking a look at the new stage, and it makes me wish a suave young lady would wear a red dress and sing on a grand piano for me. Expect laughs, absurdity, and for us to say all of those things about the fandom which everyone thinks, but no one seems to say. The show is 18+, so be sure to bring your badges or ID.

In other news, my queue has freed up quite a bit, so I am now open to commissions for FC. Sketches start for as little as $5 and Simple two-color badges start at $10! That means that you can get art for just a little more than a cup of coffee. Pretty cool, eh?

Send some references and a general idea of what you would like, and I will reply with a price. Or, you can check my standard price list on the "Commissions" tab of my FA page. All work will be completed by FC. Simple badges and sketches are normally done on the same day they are commissioned.

Two quick things.

First and foremost, does anyone have a good recipe for Tilapia? If you, or one of your friends, has a good recipe for this mostly bland fish, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reply to this journal with the recipe. My house is full of fish and I'm running out of ideas for them. You can only have baked "Spinach, Lemon, Potatos, and Salt-Pepper Tilapia" so many times before it gets old.
