Posted 17 years agoSo yeah, I'm totally sick. My body is a wonderland... of mucus. It sucks. I was going to go visit friends for new years, but now I'm stuck home, dripping gross stuff.
I need tissues, blowing my nose with toilet paper has caused blood to appear in my mucus.

Some more details on the best weekend ever.
Posted 17 years agoSo I decided I'll give a bit more detailed account of my weekend.
Let's start with Friday night. I had to work until midnight, and rather than falling asleep for three hours and then getting up, I decided to just stay up. At around 3:45 am, Saturday, my ride arrived, and after meeting a caravan at Wal-Mart, we were off at about 4am. Now, since I wasn't driving, you'd think the first thing I'd do is sleep, but I actually had a hard time sleeping in the car (normally I'm fine with it, but not this time), I must have been too excited, as I was never able to sleep for much more than a half hour at a time.
The drive was long. Around ten or eleven hours. We made a few stops, mostly for gas, but then at around noon, we stopped in Williams, AZ for lunch at a neat little 50s-style diner called "Twisters". Good burgers. From just before Williams to just after Flagstaff, the ground was covered in snow (fortunately the road was not). It was very pretty.
Just before 4pm, local time, we pulled into Chinle, AZ. We pulled into the hotel that most of the group (a church group passing out presents) was staying at. There in the lobby, waiting for me, was my sweetheart, my love,
seregei
We fell into a big hug (I would have kissed him right there, but I didn't exactly want to out myself in front of church people). After a little bit, when all the checking in was done, and I had transfered my stuff to seregei's (very beat-up but interesting) car, he and I drove over to the local church to wait for the rest of the group to arrive to unload the presents. While we were waiting, seregei was sitting in the car and I was leaning against it. I leaned down and stole a kiss, to his delight and surprise.
After unloading all the presents (seregei was very helpful, as he always is), the group reconvened for dinner at the hotel restaurant. There was a parade that evening, but seregei and I opted to leave before that, and so we took off for his house, thirty miles north (which is really not that far on the reservation). It was night time and quite dark, so I wasn't able to make out much of the landscape.
Upon arriving at his place, I unloaded my things into his sister's house (there's a main family house and then several smaller ones for his older siblings, and the sister in question lives in Phoenix now). Seregei gave me a tour of the main house, and then we waited for his mom to get home so that I could meet her. It was a brief introduction, but enough to apparently make a good impression on her.
His sister's house was heated by a wood stove, so sometimes it would get cold, but for the most part we were able to keep the house fairly warm. After meeting his mom, we returned to the smaller house, and we had a night that can best be described as magnificent.
The next morning, our plans changed a bit. At first we were going to have to ride back to Chinle with his mom, and she wanted to leave before I would be done with the things I had to do. But then she changed her mind, and decided to stay home, let seregei sell stuff at the flea market for her, and so everything worked out just fine.
After all my obligations were taken care of, I met him at the flea market, and we stayed there selling stuff for about another half hour. We got lunch at Subway, and then we headed back to his place. Once there, we had some alone time at his sister's house, and then went back to the main house. Seregei prepared dinner while I watched a little tv (which I rarely do anymore). Dinner was chicken legs baked in bbq sauce, rice with chicken gravy, and some corn. It was yummy. =9
We retreated to his sisters house again, and spent the evening putting my music onto his laptop, which was a lot of fun. We were up until midnight doing that, which was probably to late to be up, considering the early morning we had.
Yes, the church group was leaving at 7am, so in order to get there in time, seregei and I had to be up around 5:30 and leave around 6:20. We made it, though, and I hugged him goodbye. Ten hours later, I was home, and starting to feel lonely. (A little side note that show's seregei's sweet thoughtfulness: about ten minutes before I got home, I got a call from him, wanting to know if I made it home okay. He just melts my heart sometimes.)
And that's my detailed report. Feel free to ask questions.

I'm so happy, and yet a bit sad
Posted 17 years agoSo I just got back from the best weekend I've ever had (and I mean that 100% honestly). I was in Arizona, and I got to stay with my dear sweetheart,
seregei . I really can't even begin to describe how much I enjoyed being with him. It just feels natural, if that makes any sense. Nothing we did felt forced or put on. I just love it.
But yes, sad. Because I'm home now, and "home" is almost 700 miles away from my love. =( *sigh* Oh well, I have all these wonderful memories to treasure. =3

Feeling the love, and Seventh Day Adventists are awesome
Posted 17 years agoSo, in a bit of sad news,
amtrack88 and I have gone our separate ways, though we'll still remain friends. In light of that,
seregei and I are now a couple (even though some people thought that we were a long time ago <_< ). <3
In other news, Seventh Day Adventists are opposing Prop 8, on the grounds of keeping church and state separate. Check it out: http://adventistsagainstprop8.org

WTF, that was weird.
Posted 17 years agoSo about an hour or so ago, the whole neighborhood filled with smoke, and it smelled like pot. Like, really reeked, and ended up seeping into the house.
Thankfully it's gone now, but it was really strange. We had to light candles to get the smell out.

Sarah Palin: Even electronic brain pancake crystal elderly
Posted 17 years agoSo Sarah Palin gave an interview with Katie Couric, and manage to babble out a bunch of talking points that hardly made sense. Observe:

She honestly sounds like she has no idea what she's talking about. This concerns me.
Here's the actual interview, just to show that yes, she really said that: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=npUMUASwaec

So I buy Paste Magazine (I should really subscribe, but I'm lazy), and it has a CD sampler every month, which is constantly introducing me to great music.
That's where I heard Janelle MonĂ e, and it friggin' blew me away. Gutsy young woman (only 23!) is releasing a concept album for her debut.
Edit: Oh, and check this band out too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awTaN_1gQk4 Cloud Cult is awesome.
In other news, I start school tomorrow. Whee. (Seriously, I've been so bored out of school that I'm actually really happy to be going back.)

Some more thoughts on new music
Posted 17 years agoSo this week I've heard both Coldplay's new album, Viva la Vida or Death And All His Friends, and the Offspring's new album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace.
Viva la Vida is pretty good. Certainly much better than X&Y, which just struck me as overly sappy.
Rise and Fall was enjoyable. I've only recently started listening to the Offspring in any serious way, but I enjoyed the album.
I would recommend both of them if you are a fan of the bands.

I was right
Posted 17 years agoWeezer's new album doesn't suck. I like it quite a bit. I picked up the deluxe edition for bonus tracks and a nifty booklet that has commentary on most of the songs. The bonus tracks are pretty sweet, too, with my favorite being "King".
Check it out.

Well hey, I'm 22
Posted 17 years agoIt doesn't feel that different from 21, to be perfectly honest.
It's not PCD, but it's still not very pleasant.
Posted 17 years agoSo Califur has come and gone, and while I had a really good time for the most part, I'm not terribly sad that it's over.
What I am rather bummed about, though, is that
seregei left today. He's taking a bus to Phoenix where he'll work for the summer before going back to school in the fall. I had such a great time with him, and now I'm not sure when I'll get to see him again (though I'm making damn sure it won't be as long as it was last time). Plus, after having someone around all week, being alone seems accentuated.
Ah well, I've got good friends around here (including a wonderful boyfriend), so I'll just have to get out and hang with them more.

I'm so excited
Posted 17 years agoAnd i just cant hide it. <_<
Anyway, next week is going to be awesome. On Sunday,
seregei is coming into town to stay with me for the week. Unfortunately due to budget restraints, most of what we'll do will involve either watching movies or wandering around the Los Angeles area not buying things. But, Califur is next week, and we're going to that along with my boyfriend. We're gonna have a clown-car hotel room, but I'm still really looking forward to it anyway.
Normally I'd put in a "Say hi if you're at the con and see me," but Seregei is the only person who really reads my journals anyway. Which makes me wonder why I'm writing this. XD

I'm actually excited for SSBB now
Posted 18 years agoI haven't been excited for a game for a long time, but after seeing some gameplay videos and hearing some of the music that's going to be included in Super Smash Bros Brawl, I'm actually really excited for it.
