Hospital stay...
General | Posted 10 years agoA few of you might know (from FurryMuck) and in chats I was admitted to the hospital for 4 days for severe Vertigo.
I wouldn't wish this ailment on anyone. It is completely debilitating. I was completely bed ridden for 2 days before my trip to the hospital last month.
Basically, every time you opened your eyes, the room would spin Hard, and not stop. However things have gotten better, but my balance and walking is affected, where I now am looking into getting a dog with a harness, and a cane which should be here within the next few days.
The dog might come later, but as long as I can have the forms signed by my doctor, all should be ok. I was thinking of adopting a dog from a rescue or an spca, and training them myself, as service and medical dogs cost upwards of $700.00 and up for training and fees. And I just can't afford that, as my health insurance won't cover it.
If anyone you know has a dog that needs to find a new home, kindly let me know, as I'm looking into a Golden Retriever, Labrador, or sturdy dog like that...
I am still collecting furry art, and enjoy seeing my friends here online.

James Hardiman, RIP
General | Posted 11 years agoI was stunned to read one of my favorite artists and friends in the FA community. has. passed. away.
I had the pleasure to chat with James at 2 AC cons when he was there, and he was such a splendid. person to just chat with and talk about art.
He was just such a nice and kind hearted guy, and loved talking about drawing ideas he had or some comics of his girls he liked to draw.
He especially liked the one comic of Natasha pouncing the lifelike dummy of himself and her passing out. He had said he liked poking fun at himself at his own expense to make the girls seem more real than just. for sex.
He liked a few of the sketches of Yasha I had shown him that Polecat and a few others had drawn and he said for me to "Keep the drawing and character design up.. she looked great.."
You will be terribly missed Jim, and I do hope artists and friends will keep the skunk gals going on for ages.
Rest in Peace my friend...

The Lego movie, and moved to a new town (to Leilani)
General | Posted 11 years agoI had the great fortune to see the movie, for free, by a somewhat great turn of events.
As you know from our chats in FM, me and family were homeless and living in motels and shelters as we waited for our housing voucher to come thru... (more about that in my journal... )
We finally found a great place in the small town of Oxford, Pa. (*see note below ) and as we got moved in, we had to get our 9 year old daughter signed for school next year. The school office staff including the principle were nothing but extremely kind and welcoming to us as we signed the paperwork. When we explained how we had gotten to Oxford, they didn't judge us or pity us, but were happy we chose their town. And the principal offered us 3 tickets to that evening's movie night at the high school auditorium to see the Lego movie free of charge.
Naturally we went, and during the hellos to the audience, the principle told everyone there that he had the pleasure welcoming a new family to town earlier that morning with tickets and everyone politely applauded. We never had the town welcome us like that before.
The movie was incredible... we all loved it.
I immediately loved Morgan Freeman as the prophet with a lollipop stick as a staff, and Liam Niesom as the cop... who had me laughing out loud at the interrogation... "You know... I've watched a lot of Cop's episodes..." as Liam was tearing apart the room in anger.
A lot of hilarious scenes in that movie, from the copier machine mooning to Batman's continuous grumblings and almost monotoned voice like in the Dark Knight.
And yes the plotline was done millions of times before, however the scenes with Will Farrell were simply amazing and thoughtfully well done. I wasn't such a fan of Will's as I thought he tried to be, too 'over the top' like in "Elf" which I 'hated'. BUT... this movie changed my impression of Will... and I might even try to look up his 'Pineapple Express' film next.
And about the underlying things about being the 'Special snowflake' that Mora-chan had noted, I had also noticed, but I liked your reply that we all need to follow and co-operate in things as well...
We are all builders in life... we meet friends along the way, and as we all interact, we begin building relationships with each other that are special, like me and my family, or our friendships in FA or in Furrymuck. Without those interactions... life would be nothing...
I'm gonna buy the blu-ray when I can get a player, and watch it a lot more, to catch the things I missed. And look up the Lego Blooper Reel in Youtube... that was funny as hell...
*(Note: I read in City-data that Oxford, Pa. was drug addled, filled with crime, and with gangs running about, much like Phoenixville where I was renting last, but thankfully those fears were dispelled after being welcomed like we were.)
Hugs to you Lei-sama...

365 challenge paused....
General | Posted 12 years agoMy apologies, my 365 art challenge was on hold since Thursday night, as I was terribly sick, and might have to move in a few weeks as we have 2 drug dealers living next to and across the street. So having to try protecting my home, on top of keeping my family safe from these fuck-nut animals have taken temporary priority. Will let you all know when I start again in a few days.

365 art project, ( A sketch a day, for a YEAR )
General | Posted 12 years ago365 Art Day Project?
[link]
This is the artist I had seen a few months ago, and this was her project she mentioned. And this had remained in my head, gnawing at my brain every time I had seen someone's art, and I said to myself... 'I wish I could draw like that.'
Well when I got my Asus tablet a month ago, I tried drawing with it, and failed horribly, as the stylus I was using made drawing extremely difficult for me, with my hand injury. So, i sold it and picked up the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (white 16G model) and I love it.
I will be drawing every day, and as a complete novice, having only drawn maybe a dozen or so furry anthro sketches on paper, years ago. Maybe this project will help me, or send me into the crazy house.... I'M INSANE FOR TRYING THIS.... ;-; cries ... but excited as well.
I will be sketching only on the Gnote, not drawing on paper, scanning it and posting it like I did before with my paper art, I will be using my stylus directly on the G-note, with probably Vemeer art app (it's free too) as well...Wish me luck, and i promise to respond to any comments, good and bad.

Well I did it, soooo happy
General | Posted 12 years agoJust got my Samsung galaxy note 10.1 last night, after selling my Asus, as i really struggled drawing with the Rubber ball stylus on the Asus.
The Gnote simply blew my Asus away, doesn't lag at all updating to Jellybean os from Android, and i copied All my saved furry, anime, car pics and a few songs from my 5 year old laptop with barely a yawn of effort with the usb cable, which was nearly 3 gigs.
Will start drawing today.

General | Posted 12 years agoDear God of Bass Players, I, a humble singer and guitar player, and my drummer compatriot, humbly beseech thee to send us a bass player, strong of wrist, fleet of finger, and wisened in the ways of rock and roll, particularly punk, post punk, and garage. Would that this bass player be over the age of 21, so that we may drink ale together and perform at local taverns. May he or she be in possession of a vehicle with which to travel, and professional quality gear with which to produce tones most pleasing to the ear. We ask that you grant us a battle-hardened bass player, possessing knowledge of scales, so that when I say "this song is in E-minor," he or she shall comprehend. May he or she be a punctual bass player, and not a lay-about, a rogue, a ruffian or a villain. In John Entwhistle's name we pray. Amen.

In the path of Hurricane Sandy, the Frankenstorm
General | Posted 13 years agoI am also in the storm path here, as I live in Phoenixville, about an hour NW of Philadelphia. Just think of Valley Forge park, and I live about 2 miles away.
Me, wife and daughter are renting an OLD 108 year old row-home built from stone and brick, so its fairly solid. We are on the north side, larger hills, so I'm not really worried about flooding, other than water coming from my backyard.
I AM worried about power outtages tho, but we do have food and drink if needed. (If I had any extra rooms, id offer to any needing shelter.)
Will let everyone know how things go, and will stay on as long as possible.

Unemployable?
General | Posted 13 years agoWell my apologies all, as I haven't really posted a peep sine I had a birthday with my Bunny wife some months before.
What had happened was I am suffering severe depression from an accident I was in at work May 17th, and subsequently fired from said job on June 7th after filing for Worker's Compensation.
My right arm is injured, and how much I have really no idea 'how bad' it is.
How did it happen you ask? Here are the gory details...
I was hauling medical waste, and I was preparing medical boxes for the Dr's sharps containers that house the used bloody needles for transport. I had filled a cardboard box with 4 cases full of needles, and when I loaded my boxtruck with a shipment from a clinic here in Allentown, Pa, I noticed one box had fallen over. I got in the truck to right the fallen box.
Big Mistake, I brought my right hand under the 55 pound box to lift it,m and a needle had found its way past the lid in the sharps container, and sunk all the way into my right palm and wrist, injuring my Ulnar Nerve.
I immediately removed said needle and went to the work clinic where my boss sent me.
The doc said I will be back on full duty despite the injury, and I went back.
3 weeks later, my arm got so bad strengthwise, I was unable to use it at all, and I was subsequently fired. (For applying for workers comp).
Now I have an attorney, and fighting Workers Comp to try to get my back pay and get treatments going.
My injury is to my right hand, wrist and arm. My strength is down to 24-31 pounds of grip strength compared to 94 pounds with left hand.
Thats why I haven't posted in a while... and for that, I apologize.
I will try to continue drawing, but with the pain and numbness in my hand and arm, I may not be able to, unless I try drawing left pawwed... which oddly enough, I have started trying... on 2 sketches...

Had to post this.... a letter to the President

I will post the very same letter, word for word, which I think is brilliant, and speaks at how I feel.

I consider myself an Independent voter, as I am not a Donkey, or an Elephant in politics. What I think overall would be considered so bizarre it would be laughable.
(What I wish would happen, is for me to get a big enough cutting saw, and remove Washington DC from the USA and let it go adrift away from our lands, I think the career politicians there in Wash DC are so corrupt, they are out of touch with the rest of the USA.)

Captain Chaos . . .
September 7, 2010
Dear Captain Chaos AKA President Barrack Obama,
Reading your last economic address reminded me of one of my favorite movies, Cannonball Run. In this movie, a merry band of lead foot drivers blast from one coast to the other wreaking havoc upon the nations roads; kind of like liberal democrats and the body politic. Back to Captain Chaos. This fellow had a mental disorder that he would soothe by putting on a costume and taking on a presumably difficult task. Thus, I crown you, Captain Chaos. The honor comes with a cape, funky boots, and of course a speedo. I recommend you only wear the speedo in private, as it may make a NY Times reporter pass out and the rest of us puke. So the next time you are going to deliver a speech that frankly no one cares a lick about, just step up to the microphone and scream out, “Captain Chaos to the rescue!” At which point the citizens of this great nation will then be on notice to take cover, and use extreme caution.
Let’s take the healthcare bill that my representative John Hall voted in favor of. This is one piece of legislated chaos an order of magnitude higher that would make a Nazi proud. We don’t need death camps, we need chaos and confusion, as doctors and patients wait to die, or die from waiting, a unionized bureaucrat will be there with form 42-B to inform the concurrent parties that the Tylenol that is so desperately needed will not be available until next weeks allocation comes through the factory - which is on strike because the unions think they are underpaid, and the lawyer that is needed to fill out the waiver for the Tylenol is on sabbatical studying yoga. Cogito ergo sum Chaos!
Now let’s take financial reform. I have been investing and dealing with money in a mostly responsible way my whole life. Like most people I strive to learn from my mistakes. Like that first year at ASU, that should have been my first year in the Air Force, when that broad in the tight t-shirt, with Citibank emblazoned across you know what, asked me if I wanted a credit card, I said “how many can I get?” I promptly used that card to buy everything I was not supposed to. I made the monthly minimums on time and in cash with the odd jobs I picked up while at school. By the time the summer rolled around I was doing three to four jobs to cover the bill, but I did it. Is the Congress and are you, Mr. Obama, telling me that grown people are incapable of understanding that they are going to have to pay for what they buy, and if they don’t they will be charged interest. Are you all nuts? Don’t answer that. I know the answer. Recently you signed the Financial Regulatory Reform Act, that would among other nasty things, increase the minutia that a borrower would be faced with and create a higher burden for the companies to raise rates on borrowers; in short you are treating adults like children, and this will only lead to more chaos, and not to mention less credit.
You see Captain Chaos Obama, We The People, get to vote last, while you get to bully us when ever you desire with or without the cape and the funky boots. I am well aware that your ilk has been maneuvering in chaotic fashion to make each vote not about forming a more perfect union, but about administering to the government induced chaos; and the last election, like trained seals, people voted for Democrats, wrongly thinking that they are better at managing the chaos. We The People, are coming to the conclusion that the ordered chaos that evolves out of the free market is far more desirable than the one that the federal government manufactures, with the willing help of unions, via pitting one economic class, or one race against another. We The People are coming to the conclusion that we would rather have a hospital room and insurance at some price, than none at any price, we would rather have a seat on a flight at some price than none at any price, we would rather have a Big Mac at some price than none at any price, we would rather have credit at some price than none at any price; and so on for everything we rely on to lead our modern, and productive lives.
On November 6, 2012 - we will be choosing a new President that understand all of this and is willing to represent these convictions with authority.
Respectfully,
Joe D.

Another year with my Bunny
General | Posted 13 years agoAnd today is her birthday. Brought her some gifts she has been eyeballing for some time. Like a George Foreman grill, a portable deep fryer, and a bread machine, thats on order as of now.
What can I say, Bunny loved to cook. ^^
I went kinda nuts with taking her out to dinner tonight, but ya know, shes WORTH it to me, every penny.
I took her out to dinner at one of Southeast PA.'s TOP Buffet restaurants.
Shady Maple, in East Earl, Pa. Someone PLEASE Google this.... ya gotta trust me on this one. I might take my Buddy Cylnx here when he returns from being in Iraq and some other nasty places.
OK, picture you are at ya grandmom's home eating the best food she was cooking all day for the family every Saturday. Now increase the size of the eating area as large as a football field EASILY, and filled with 2 main grill areas with NY Strip steak, and fresh fish. And more seafood available that night to shake ZigZag's stripes at. And an entire desert section with every kind of fresh made pie you can imagine.
Along with a nick-nack gift shop downstairs that made ME droll with wanting to buy some Coca-Cola things ....
OMGawwwwddddd.... o.0
1. The food was fuggin INCREDIBLE. Think of Old Style Amish country cooking.
2. With it being Bunny's Birthday, she got to eat free... and no I wasn't being cheap. I didn't know they did that till I paid for the meal.
3. We all had a great time, and I absolutely went pure stupid when I ate the dinners.
Now for those that do not know me in person, I'm a average guy, 5'7 and 180 pounds. Usually 2 plates at a Chinese buffet would finish my appetite out.
At Shady Maple, I made fucking certain I got my monies worth.( I busted my ass all day hauling medical waste and didn't eat ANYTHING since dinner the previous night.)
I had 4 FULL plates consisting of a HUGE slab of NY Strip, (16-20 ounces) a hunk of Talapia fish (10 inches by 4 wide at least) that weighed the plate down to where I needed my second paw under the plate to steady it. Fried and steamed shrimp, mussels in shell, seafood salad, shredded roast beef, mash potatoes, and fried crab strips. Not including the best tasting lobster bisque soup I had in ages. and for dessert, are ya ready... Soft serve vanilla, a brownie, some kinda thing called a 'magic cookie' a slice of outstanding lemon pie to round my evening meal off, and 2 sodas.... I forgot that. ^^
Bunny had a more sensible dinner with small portions, and where she didn't over indulge unlike yours truly did. She still had a blast. And we both did try a new pie slice, Shoo-Fly it's called. Not bad at all actually, kinda like Pecan pie, but without the nuts.
Kinda a butterscotch or caramel taste.
Sorry for rambling like this, but I did wanna tell ANYONE that likes a good place to eat, and wished to share.
Do me a favor... please send Bunny a HAPPY BIRTHDAY for me, while I recover from being such a glutton. I don't think I can eat anything else for a week...

Earthquake... ? O.O
General | Posted 14 years agoI just got home from work orientation, and getting ready for a late lunch when we felt the house shake.
I was like 0.o what's going on?
Bunny says from the kitchen as she was readying lunch, that must be a truck turning the corner.
But then we felt it again, a slow rolling like driving over road dips. About 10-15 seconds.
Holy S#!T it's an Earthquake !!!
Now mind you, in the NE we never had this before, and it was quite scary. Nothing fell off the walls, but it was in Virginia, at least 3 hours from us.
Wows that was insane.....

A rare find indeed...
General | Posted 14 years agoI just had a great stroke of luck happen, from a chance meeting 6 months ago.
I was putting home heating oil into a customer's home in February when I noticed the neighbor had a rather worn 1989 Turbo Plymouth Voyager 5 speed minivan.
I seen the owner and complimented him on it, and gave him a note with the local Mopar websites, and that I was a fan of the turbo Mini's.
(These vans were only built for 2 years and a VERY Few were assembled with the 5 speed manual transmissions.)
Now last week I get an email, and behold, the minivan owner asks if i know anyone that could help him with his van, as the rear axle split and broke in half from all the Pa winters and road salt. His van was currently stranded off the highway at a parking lot, but could only stay there a day or 2 maximum. I told him I'd do my best and look. He replied and said if I couldn't, it wouldn't be a big deal, as he would just craiglist the van for parts and end up taking it to the crusher.
I practically leaped up from my chair and yelled "I will take it from your hands, and will pay for the towing and the axle repair, if you let me save the van."
Only thing he asked was if I had room to park the van at my home, as he lived down a long tight narrow one way road, which would be very hard for the flatbed truck to unload his van.
I MADE the room available.
And the following day, I became the owner of a 1989 Plymouth Voyager Turbo 5 speed minivan.
A fun fact: They did come factory turbo and 5spd, but it was a rare thing, as factory turbo vans were only made in 89 and 90, only the short wheelbase ones, and the 5spds were a fraction of that. Autos are far more common. And considering Plymouth built fewer mini's than Dodge built Caravans, I would think the plymouth 5 speed turbo would be most rare.
The motor that comes in them has some good things going for it. It comes with strong pistons and rods and with careful tuning can hold 400whp on the stock bottom end. Careful tuning, though, is a rare thing in the turbo-dodge/turbo-mopar world so you wont find many people running that power that haven't upgraded to forged pistons. However, i THINK the current fastest 1st gen turbo 4 cylinder caravan that runs 11.7s ~115 is on a stock piston stock bottom end. That guy knows how to tune.
All I have to do now is replace the rear axle, and enjoy.

General | Posted 14 years agoWoke up early today, like 3:30 am to get an asprin for a headache I had.
As I snuck thru my home to get a tea to down the asprin, I toppled over my feet, tripping on my 44th birthday.
All I could think was... who left that here on my living room floor?
Giggles...

Verizon android... part 2
General | Posted 14 years agoGot myself a Motorola Citrus from the local Verizon store.
It was the cheapest model they had, got for free, but had to sign a contract, so it's not REALLY free, BUT I needed a phone as my job took my work phone and make it walkie talk only, so I had to get one.
I only have it set for small amount of phone time, but unlimited data, so I'll be poking around on it for a while.

General | Posted 14 years agoI was wondering... who here has a smartphone, Id like to get a Verizon Driod for my job and apps, I just wanted to ask how good they are. All i'd need is to use the apps for my new job, and call bunny or my bosses at Spirit Miller.
Id only like the phone with the keys on the screen, not the slide under querty keyboard i have to type on.
Good and bad about each droid?

A change in living arangements... and a need for advice?
General | Posted 14 years agoWell all, lemmee first start off by saying we are moving out of the home we were renting. Paying $1200 a month just on rent and no utilities included was too expensive.
(Ok, before I get longwinded, i'm NOT begging for money or donations. Just some positive thoughts, advice and well wished thoughts for us would do wonders i think.)
We were looking at local apartments here in town, and 'thought' we had another lined up, so we told landlord, as we awaited the approval from new landlord.
We were declined.
Ok, looked some more, but still couldn't find anything.
Landlord was pressing us for a timetable for us to find something. I told him I wasn't sure, mebee a month?
And while this is going on, our current landlord is sending out ads for our home to rent again. (I personally think our landlord was planning for this, as a way to get us out, for a family that will be better costwise for him.)
Well, he rented the home out in about an hour and half after he posted it on Craigslist.
His gf took the pics as well that same day.
Now we have to move out on the 30th. Only problem is we don't have a place to stay.
We have been in touch with a place here that assists low income and handicapped families. Our caseworker is very kind, and has some programmes that can help us get another home in time. Our Caseworker's supervisor, runs a local shelter home ran by nuns. It's set up like an old victorian style home, with separate family bed rooms above the main room.
We will be staying there for a while, as caseworker and Bunny searches for rentals.
It's rent free, and no food bills, so I can save for a good chunked deposit.
8 weeks is the maximum we can stay there, because Rachael needs a registered address for school. (And besides, the shelter shuts down in August.)
The Landlord is giving us back 1/2 our deposit, and thats it. He will write up a good review on us staying at his home as renters. This will help our caseworker get additional moving funds and a d/p for a rental we can afford. She took down all my info and wages, and said we were 'just' squeaking by on $16.00 an hour.
I know we had to break our lease, but it was agreed upon by verbal agreement.
It just sucks, cause the landlord wants us out asap, so he can work on the home before the newwww tennants move in, and not fixing everything that went wrong while we lived here.
Boy the new tenants are gonna be surprised at how CHEAP out landlord is.
He never fixed the holes in ceiling, put up the railings for the scary steps to the bedroom. And there is mold in the home that makes it impossible to have a sense of smell anymore.
*****
Like I said, We need some well wishes. And I'll let you know what happens when we get settled.
On another note, I am accepting a job driving trucks in area or regionally, paying $.35 a mile with all expenses paid.
Ill let ya know how that goes.

Randy 'Macho-Man' Savage dies in Head-On Car Crash
General | Posted 14 years agoReport: Wrestler ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage Dies in Head-On Car Crash
TMZ is reporting that former wrestler “Macho Man” Randy Savage died in a head-on car accident in Tampa, FL early Friday morning:
Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ … Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median … through oncoming traffic … and “collided head-on with a tree.”
Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries.
Savage’s wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision — but survived with “minor injuries.” She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated.
According to officials, Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Cops say alcohol was NOT a factor.

Randy was a thorough class act.

Be wary of Indigo-Nightfall
General | Posted 15 years agoCopied from Artist Beware group in Livejournal.)
Christykitsune is a friend of mine for a long time, and I read her journals about
Indigo-Nightfall and his ever changing stolen identities.
I have been following
Christykitsune about this user
Indigo-Nightfall
Along with a group called Artist Beware in Livejournal.
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/433978/
Christykitsune mentioned that
Indigo-Nightfall was using one of her gift Icons and assuming her identity at Steam Community here...
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/.....61197991667659
Please be assured that is NOT
Christykitsune
So curiosity got a hold of my brain, and I went to see what
Indigo-Nightfall posted if anything. And in his journal, he asked anyone that read his journal, to ask him 'anything', and he would answer.
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1991576/
So I asked him nicely, how he can have so many identities in FA and SL and keep track of them all, as I would get confused so easily. An easy question to answer yes?
Indigo-Nightfall has since hidden my comment, and quite possibly will refuse to answer. However, I have a screencap of my question, before he blanked it out, before anyone else had seen.
The Screencap is in my scraps ... it's the only entry there. ^^ or look below...
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5049643/
Please be careful of
Indigo-Nightfall he is bad news. And I am watching him waiting for him to mis-step.
