Now for a little update, while I am here: My latest efforts to do more regular art again has been shut down by other responsibilities. Hopefully after all that has blown over I will be able to seriously get back into it, but right now I lack the time and energy for art or to show much presence.

Another thing on the side, I recently made it into my 7th year here on FA! And probably also my 7th year as Kinaj! Fun fact, about 5/6 of my art was made in the first 4 years of my time here, oops >.>'

To get right to the point: There is a striving new artist on FA. Has been for a few months now and is currently holding a ych(https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39613140/). Maybe that will be of interest for some of you.
Or take a stroll through his gallery! His art is promising, characters are interesting and he also gets some fun commissions. He is also doing raffles every now and then!

Now while I am already here, I only skimmed my last journal, but I think I didn't mention being more active on here again. Thankfully, that would have been a great fail. But I swear I have some stuff to post! I just have to get around to upload it. So stay tuned!

Hey there!

First of all, I am sorry for the long silence! The past months and year(s) probably. There have been some concerns. I really appreciate that, but I can say that I am alright over all!
The past months sure have been very difficult in my personal life and while my art motivation has been a bit difficult back then already, the past months it's been taken on an extra holding. Things are easing up again overall, but there is still university and stuff going on. Overall I am just doing very hard to find the motivation/energy to sit down and draw. But hey! I at least found more joy in video games again, but I guess they do their part in keeping me from doing art as well. It's easy joy. Although I guess that's good joy in these times. However, I am working on it. Drawing 10min a day or drawing one paw each day, stuff like that helped a lot in the past to actually find a groove again. But it's still difficult.

NOW, in other news, in June I've actually had my 6th anniversary. 6 years of me being on FA and 6 years of me being Kinaj!
What all can you look forward to from here? A bunch and nothing. Bunch of plans, I don't know what I will even finish x3
I am still wor....having that comic with Jess and Tamara in my mind! And a bunch of other stuff. Smaller pictures and bigger pictures. AND there is going to be an ANIMATION!!!! A part of it is actually animated in sketch form and it looks...quite ok x3

Alright, been postponing to write this journal for a bit, but now it's the time. Now that we are through with Happy New Year, let's move on to Reviews. I've made this journal already last year. Let's see what I've written down and what I actually did:

-start another AtC: Didn't do that. But that's ok. Plans changed. I am not pursuing that as much at the moment.
-draw more Nick, more Jess: That's a bit difficult considering how I've drawn this year. But at least with Jess I should have been successful.
-finish all the projects i open up every time I start sai: I kind of did that...and then not. Finished some of the pieces, some I abandoned a bit more, some are no projects, but just canvases I open just in case. Nope, no, that didn't really work out.
-more of my less drawn characters: I did that! I did that very much thanks to Vixel's weekly word prompts!
-finish the sketch phase for the comic I work on: That seemed to work well at the beginning of the year. Sketched out the first pages, but then it all came to an halt >.<
-at least one refsheet: Nope. But at least I also didn't create any more characters >.>
-more designing for the background stuff for Nick's world: I did that a little, but then I also left that aside again >.<

But apart of these things I did also other things. First of all I've created my own TELEGRAM CHANNEL. Just a place where I can dump less complete pictures, sketches and other nonsense I would only upload to Twitter. Link for both below this journal(or on my user page)!
And then I've also joined Vixel's Discord (https://inkbunny.net/j/342847-Vixel.....erver-is-live-) and started doing these weekly prompts. And it was great! Really, I did so much art and could exercise and experiment and tell some stories I usually wouldn't tell :D And then it took too much time from my other art >.> Couldn't hold doing it every week, but did it most weeks and might do the ones I left out. I also might start them again, now that they are monthly this year. We will see. But that brings us now to the current year!


Alright, 2020. Probably like 2019, but the number has that futuristic touch~

What can you expect from me this year?
-First of all: I wanna finish the christmas art >.<
Hmm, but what else will there be?
-I guess I wanna pick up on my art productivity again. I've been slacking a lot, often because I just couldn't wrap my head around art and often it would push me away cause of how unsuccessful it seemd. The first part of 2019 I've been fairly well, but then it all broke down, a lot because of this. SO I guess part of this goal, I wanna take art more relaxed again and tone down the perfectionism maybe if possible.
But other goals?
-I know, let's try finishing the sketch phase for the Jess and Tamara comic. At least add some more pages!
-I wanna finish the planing phase for a comic I work on with headhunter
-I wanna try animating. Something more fun. I also got CSP last year, so I wanna make use of that. Nothing big, just some sketching and animating.
-Let's try that ref sheet again. Got a bunch of characters to make them for :P
-Hmm, what else, maybe, but only maybe pick up on the prompts again and finish the pending ones from last year!
-if I can cram it in, some more world building for Nick's world.
-Oh right, I also have a huge ton of gift art to upload ^^'

Not sure what else there will be. We will see I guess. Wanna get some things out there first and then I gonna try and do what's fun! Keeping away from dead lines.

Guess that's it for now! Definitelly gonna try to bring out more art here again. Or at least some smaller stuff again *hinds at the Telegram Channel* :9

And not planning to be anywhere soon. Just too busy for that anyway >.>

So yeah, unfortunatelly real life keeps me busy and between big projects and the word prompts on Vixel's Discord I don't really get to finish stuff I would upload here. For some already, for me very soon, for some in a bit, another year has passed. Another lap around our central star without leaving the track or bumping into significant obstacles.
Now, before we jump into next year's preview and goals, let's see what of 2018's goals I could reach:

-lose more weight: Ehh, I could hold it. Also I think I swapped fat by muscles. Hard to actually say that. Sure feeling better as it is now than a year ago, despite lots of stress.
-finish the current AtC: YES! I did it! Close, but I've actually done it :D
-draw more Jess: Yeah, I think, considering how much I drew in general, there was a good number of Jes in it :D And it's not even all gore.
-more of Nick: Same for Nick. Sure am happy with how much I did of him.
-wanna do more [of] all the characters I've rather rarely used: Ehhh, let's see, I've included Eorl once and there is that piece with all my characters. One time with Sophia, the AtC with Cody...also planning a comic with Leon, brought to you by Headhunter with myself as coproducer. Sure could try myself more on this again.
-use more refs: YES, actually, huge yes. Well, I've wanted to use all the refs I've saved for certain pictures and poses, but thanks to Nonfinite and our daily trainings I could at least do lots of training with refs c:
-finish some old projects: Finished some old ones, some older ones, started new ones...not fully successful, but it worked somewhat out I guess.
-background of my characters: I've started the year working more on Nick's background story, but then I left it aside again. But I thought through more of it all :3
-more intercourse: In art. Of course >.> And there I think...more or less. There are some. Some really great ones though, like Nick and Jess. Finally :D
-draw more characters who aren't mine: One is still work in progress, then finished two with my pup, took two commissions, a request. Not unhappy with that. And then I've also gotten my characters with others in other people's art which was also described in this point. Worth to mention is also that this year I finally found back to a certain great friend, and to a wonderful new one. Also I finally am sure I am right with studying what I study. Stress is still high, but the depression that weighted down on me for years seems so far now.
2018 sure was a stressful year. But it was also a great year for me^^

Alright, now that we have that behind us, let's talk about the coming year. For the more art related stuff:
-I want to start another AtC.
-again I want to draw more Nick, more Jess, together, single, with other characters, from other people
-I want, and this is something that should happen early, finish all the projects i open up every time I start sai, except for my exercise and my sketch canvas.
-I want to draw more of my less drawn characters. I actually have a few ideas on my mind.
-At the very least I want to finish the sketch phase for the comic I work on, staring Jess and her sister.
-I want to make at least one refsheet of one of my characters who don't have one yet. And if it's one of Jess siblings where I reuse elements of their parents' sheet.
-I want to make more designing for the background stuff for Nick's world.

I think that's all for now. More you can be looking forward to this year will be the latest sweater meme. I've sketched it already, but haven't yet gotten to make it digital. More hot feral porn. Hello, it's one of these journals again.

Soo, I've been wondering how my art is seen by others. Especially what is jumping into your eye on my pictures that's rather unaesthetic to you?

The background is the usual, why am I so behind other artists that, at least to me, are among or below my skills, who barely ever upload something.

NOW don't let me not notice all you people who care about my art and/or me as well. I notice that and really appreciate you people <3
It's just... that thought and having no clue why makes me...ugh.

I am curious how you guys see it:
-On one side you have lots of nsfw of an artist. Lots of sex pics, dirty kinks, most pictures show the character naked. You barely see them dressed.
-On the other side you rarely see anything nsfw from an artist. Most art is sfw or at best suggestive, but only rarely genitals, sex or even a nipple.

Now what do you like more? Does the nsfw get kinda dull if most of the art of an artist is? Or doesn't it make any difference for you?

Since I have my pages more or less designed like this for at least one or two years, I thought I might change it.
The question about what to include on the page crossed my mind and I thought I would ask what you guys think. More precisely, what is it you would for sure want to include on your profil pages? But also what is it you are looking for in somebody else's profil page?

Just saying in regards of my last journal and I am sorry if some of you felt that way.
I've been/am simple unsure and stressed out over the latest change in interaction with my art.
The last months have been great with that and I feel so happy for all the attention and interactions with you people out there. The sudden break of course, lets me think. And I in general think a LOT. Especially with these kind of things, even if I shouldn't.

I don't want to force anybody to comment or fave my stuff if they don't want to/feel like it/etc. (Although if you are just shy, don't be, I sure don't bite^^).

Also I want to again thank you guys for the nice comments I got on the last journal *wags* :9

I just couldn't not mind the drop in interactions with my content, also by...regulars. My...core watchers. However you will name yourself, it's gotten less somehow. Not posting as much anymore, so can't already give a sure trend, but I am actually quite worried. More than 50% gone here, on e621 I can be happy not to end up with negatives and zeros. Considering the quality raise it's really unsetteling.
Soooo, is there a reason. Is everybody just on holiday?

Ok, so my anniversary on FA, but also of me being Kinaj is coming up by the end of June.

What should I do for that? I am open for ideas.

I already thought about a raffle of some kind. The problem I have with that though is that I would like to do something that in first place benefits those who...activly (in a good kind of course) took part in my furry development and pull back those who I didn't hear anything of since their icon poped up on my watcher notification.

So, it was brought to my attention and to my mind, that the new GDPR might also effect us artists?
I get the basics behind it, but there are still open questions I can't find any answers for.

Basically, as I understood it, the commissioners have to agree on the data I publish from them when uploading the commission. At best if I have that written down. But, does that only count for a payed commission? Is that also for requests, or gifts for friends, too?!?

What's about the communication then, is the communication on social media alright like this? Can I use Telegram? Do I have to delete that conversation afterwards?!?

Maybe if somebody else can provide me with some answers there?
At least some awareance for you other artists out there to look out for this.
