Life is hard for a lot of people. I understand, but I’m also one of them, and I genuinely kinda hate having to post stuff like this…

I am very well aware that I fall off the planet unless I’m horny or need money lmao, but I’ve never been great with social media anything, even small chat with discord. (Which, in a way is a good thing? But also bad for trying to maintain an art reputation lol)

I am in… insane debt. Like, many thousands of dollars worth. I don’t expect to get out of it quickly, but I could appreciate a little help, somehow, even if it’s only enough to cover a months bills.

But that’s the thing, I don’t know how. I have a slow turnaround for detailed, full body commissions. I can be a lot quicker for smaller, less detailed pieces, but of course price is lower which means I need to do more, and if I have too much on my plate I get overwhelmed and slow down production.

It’s not fair to everyone buying art to wait forever (even though everyone who’s ever commissioned me has been AMAZING and SUPER patient and understanding! Tytyty <333), so idk what I can or should offer, or what people want.

It was also suggested before to try out a Kinani growth drive, but that’s still a piece to try and keep up with (which I can’t promise) and where do I stop? I guess I could set a goal, but how much is too much?

I suppose the whole point of this post is looking for ideas, suggestions, what is a good commission type that people are interested in, price range for said commissions, etc… An open conversation, I’d appreciate any advice.

Sorry I haven’t been active on here (or anywhere) as of late. Typical art block has hit me hard and I just haven’t been motivated to do much for so long. My messenger systems don’t like to alert me when I have Skype/Discord activity, and I’ve always been kinda dead on twitter.

If life news though, I recently tried to get a manager position at my job which I’ve been at for four years, and just found out today I didn’t get it. I’m pretty bummed :/ I’m really passionate about where I work, this is my third attempt at applying for a management position from three different stores, and all of them have fallen through despite praises of “You’re great! You’re definitely ready to move up in the company! ...We just decided to go with someone else.” 😞

As much as I don’t really want to, I might have to apply for a second job again because I can’t live off what I’m making now. Idk what to go into or what I’d be good at. Retail is my entire work experience for over ten years. And my little town doesn’t hire much because there’s so many younger people looking for positions, and now that Christmas/seasonal is over, it’s difficult to find anything hiring.

So in the mean time, I was thinking of trying to get back into art for commissions again. Maybe a “Doodles for Donations” thing? Headshots, sketches, fancier things? Possibly get back into streaming them while I work? What’s the best place to do that? I’ve used JoinMe in the past, but is that still good? Is that even still a service anymore?
I also have a two person size play/cum inflation sketch (which I did post a teaser photo to Twitter) which is collecting dust in my laptop. I was thinking maybe I could upload that as an auction piece?

Would anyone be interested in either of those things while I try to get back into the art groove?

How are you guys though? What’s been happening in your life? Done anything cool or fun recently? Attended any cons? Seen any good movies? Last movie I saw was Black Panther and that was a fun time :) before then idek lol. Let’s have a chat. I miss you. <3

I got a new laptop recently. It's really nice and runs so smoothly, but I've noticed the color balance/brightness/gama/ whatever fancy term is different than my last one. I knew my last computer had pretty high/bright settings compared to most standard screens (even compared to my iPhone), so now that I'm looking through art and Kinani's design on this new one, it's so strange to see how different her colors look. Everything now looks like greys and tans. She was supposed to be purple. Has everyone been seeing her as greys this entire time? Has no one seen purple? Has no one seen details in hair and marking definition? I might have to revamp her a little and get my color balance back to the way I originally thought I had her looking.


I want to get back into art again. Idk if I should refocus on digital or keep it traditional. I also don't know what to do. Just Kinani sketches? Head sketches? Actual scenes? I'm also kinda thinking about making like.. ears and a tail for the hell of it. But that would mean I'd have to use it in public. I've been thinking of making myself more public and not so anon. Idk. I think it's kinda scary. But I would like to actually go to cons and meet people either from FA or who have similar fetishes?

Idk. Idk what to do with anything.
Suggestions? Recommendations? Ideas? Silence?

my "game plan" journal that had ideas and timeline situations all listed out is pretty much tossed out the window. i thought i was going to have everything figured out this year and i guess i'm not.

i want to create a male character to go along with kinani when i want to sketch out scenes and not use someone in particular (no offense), and have a male option for people to commission with him. i'm thinking either a green or blue and brown/tan mix. *shrug*

i just wish i could get back into things..

So here's the deal.

I suck.

But I'm seriously going to try and get my ass in gear.

I'm officially quitting my retail hell in two weeks. Done. That's it. I'm not going back.

I will however be gone for the next month following that. December is my aim to being working on art again.

I know (I think?) I've mentioned before a plan I had. Despite quitting retail, I have a few other job backups which are going to be a scheduled income, albeit a steady one, but I am going to focus on art as income. I plan on making a schedule of working on some things during the day from 12noon to dinner time, and after dinner work on digital art and maybe pick up joinme streaming again from after dinner to midnight. It's a pretty even schedule and it'll probably fluctuate pending on outside work related things, but this is my goal.

This is where the money is, and I can see that. I just have to work hard and produce the outcome for it. I do enjoy drawing the macro/inflation themed art, YCH's are wonderful and relatively easy and a fast way to get a chunk of money of I need it, but I also need to figure out a commission price sheet. Figure out what I'm capable of and how long it takes me to work on digital work (and practice hella on my style and how to use brushes etcetc).

So this is where I'm at in life. This is what my near future looks like. This is what I really hope to work on and accomplish. I'll still be MIA from FA and Skype for quite a while until I return home, but I'm almost always available over Twitter (@inflatableki), even if I don't check it often, I get notifications when people talk to me.

I'm quitting my time consuming retail job soon. I just need to write a 2 weeks resignation letter and turn it in. I'm supposed to be getting a raise this month, but after asking some questions to a coworker, I can tell already that I won't be making enough, even with the raise, to make working there any longer worth it.

I have a second job that I can set my own scattered hours to, but it pays enough, and I'm going to try and work on getting an older job back which pays decently as well, but again with scattered hours. THIS MEANS I'll have time to hopefully focus on art again.

MY PLAN on days that I'm not working at all, is to set up a schedule for myself. I'd love to work from noon to dinner on other stuff (like crafting, I've been enjoying making jewelry lately!), and then work on digital art for here from after dinner to midnight. Sleep until 9-11 and repeat the process! I would also like to get a little more in shape and plan on walking 3 miles every other day.

I've got fingers crossed that between the two jobs and working on arts and crafts here, I'll be able to keep making cash.. I'll still try to work on my little to do list of sketches/commissions I've offered to some you guys in the past, offer some simple sketches or colored headshots to find my groove again and work on how to do digital art and proper shading and stuff to get a style down.

SO. yeah. I'm really really hoping I can get these job positions lined up and my schedule plan going.. I really feel like I can do this if I just.. stick to it.

I have such a lack of inspiration recently, I don't want to do art or RP or talk at all.

This is what I was afraid of when from the very beginning when I started commissions. I think I'm just going to upload the YCH pieces I've been working on, since I said that they would be a flat colored piece anyway, and then hopefully later I'll get back to them with some shading and edit the submissions instead of reuploading them again.

Paid commissions are always open for refund, just note me and let me know if you want to do that. I'll get through my to-do list eventually, but when and how long it's going to take me is unseen.

Hope things are going well with everyone!
Hope you all had a good New Years with lots of partying!

I hung out at a friends house and didn't drink a whole lot (because I've gotten messed up in the past and now never want to get that bad, plus I had to drive haha) But I introduced a lot of people to a new booze mix and it was a hit with everyone that tried it! Now I know what my signature drink is going to be in the future! ;)


But I had a question for you all!
I'm going to get back into working for solid days again pretty soon, and I know I haven't done much with art since the YCH (which I still haven't gotten back to when it comes to shading), and I know I have a queue of gifts and trades (which I have tried to work on, but nothing looks good enough when I sketch!), but in between of all the necessary work I still feel like slapping something together. AND I KNOW adopts are all over the place, but they seem to do well depending on the artist and design.

SO I WAS WONDERING if anyone would be interested/wouldn't mind if I tried my hand at coloring in a base and selling adopt designs? Or maybe I should try drawing my own? Is there enough interest with you guys that you'd want to see that (because it's still some sort of art being produced, even if it's just color on a repetitive outline). It could give me a little pocket change in between commissions and future YCH's as well.

This is just an idea I'm toying with, but I appreciate everyone's opinion and interest and if there's enough "no, there's too much out there already, stick to your own work" I'll listen to that and refrain from clogging up inboxes with adopts!

For my knowledge and your knowledge to know I haven't forgotten or backing out of owed commissions! My YCH auction had a MUCH more positive outcome than I was expecting! I honestly didn't believe that it would get much higher than $100 and the final price was literally another 2 week paycheck from my job to hold me over while it's lost. So thank you so SO much again, Matt <3 Your generosity means so much and it will really help me out.

Because of it's attention, I will definitely be doing more in the future. Maybe more with Kinani, definitely some without, and I will for sure set autobuys in the future. I feel like I'll be doing more YCH's than standard commission openings while I figure out how long it takes me to art the process as a whole, so I can figure out how to price digital pieces accordingly for commissions.

- I'm home yay!
- Tablet arrived to me before I arrived to me! Double yay! It's a very simple Wacom, tiny and petite and cute and I've already doddled around with it a little and I love how smooth it is! I'm so excited about being able to use it!

~* Bad news! *~
- Pen pressure isn't working! I've tried hunting FAQ sites about the problem and watching youtube videos to see how to fiddle with my program (SAI) to make it work and nothing is fixing it. A loooong time ago I had a tablet which is now very much dead and gone and I've tried to find and uninstall those device/drivers so there's no competition, but I'm still not figuring things out. It wasn't a Wacom tablet, so mine is brand-spankin-new so I shouldn't need to update any sort of new drivers for it.. idkidk Are there any super tech savvy watchers to help me out with this?


Aahhh! I'm so eager to get all this figured out! I'm so excited for digital art! I discovered  sibyl. today and while I have never heard or seen of them before (and I'm sure she to myself), we have very similar character designs. Now I am NOT starting anything about character theft or whatever, I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but it makes me uncomfortable to a degree where I feel uncreative in my design of Kinani and wonder if I should change her up completely. I've always felt her markings to be a bit "incomplete", but I didn't know what I was missing, but now that I look at Sibyl, it makes me feel like I shouldn't have Kinani be how she is at all.. :/

I'm sure I'm just over reacting/thinking about it all. We have enough differences to be different, but my eyes see only the similarities and now I feel awkward about my whole design.. What should I do?

I'm not home yet, travelling will be done shortly. Haven't had the greatest end to this trip so I'm looking forward to returning back home.

Ordered my tablet today! Hopefully I'll get it by the end of the week or next week at the latest. I'm excited to draw with it :)

I'm sooo close to getting that tablet and I need a little more of your guys' help! So here's an idea I thought up..

If you buy a "very simple colored sketch" for say.. $12, your original commission piece will be a traditional, colored pencil sketch (similar to http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13663354/ but nicer looking lol), and once I get my oh so desired tablet, I will take your same sketch and redo it into a flat color digital piece! It'll be practice for myself, a little incentive to help with that final push to reach my goal, then I'll be able to take on bigger and better pieces! :D
