I know I said I was putting all commissioning on hold BUT, I just made my wife's sona and I was really looking to find an artist who would be willing to make a piece for us! Would be our Sona's together, preferably NSFW wholesome with her sona being pregnant and we are cuddling or something along those lines. Only issue is I have a low price range right now so odds are I'm not going to be able to find anyone to take this commission ;w;

I have I believe a commission or two I have to finish paying off with this next paycheck. Other than that though all purchases will be on complete hold until further notice. I am currently still waiting on receiving my stimulus payment and with it and any future money I will be making I am saving up to get a new (not brand new mind you) car amongst some other important significant things. To any artists that I have discussed possible commissions with, I apologise but they will have to be put on hold until further notice which upsets me to a degree but it is for important reasons. I can say that I am very excited for what I'm currently working towards and it will be a huge improvement on getting my life back on track and my overall happiness. To many of you this journal will really hold no significance, but I felt it was right to at least make it anyways.
Please everyone continue to be safe during these uncertain times and take some time for yourself to relax and do what YOU want. Thanks for taking the time to read this and have a great day/night!

Posted 5 years ago ╭━━━━━━━👑 🐺 👑 ━━━━━━━╮ I've come across an issue that has actually happened on quite a few platforms and I feel it needs to be addressed. Please do not hop into someone's messages and try to sell them commissions. If someone is interested in your work then they will come to you. You should never just assume someone is in a position where:
1) They are able to even afford your art or prices. You have absolutely no idea what that individual may be going through and given the current pandemic, a LOT of people are out of work. Doing something like this is just plain rude and inconsiderate.
2) They enjoy or are interested in your art style or the content you may draw. That's not to say what you draw or are into is bad, but it's important to remember everyone's tastes are different. Not everyone is going to enjoy the same things you do or find your art to be the kind of style they like.
I've had this happen to me too many times already, where an artist (ones I'm not following that I've never even heard of before mind you) will try and rope you into believing they are going to do free or gift art for you. They never state that they will be charging you or that you must pay until usually towards the end of the conversation, or unless you mention that it's free (ex: "it's so kind that you're doing this free piece for me!"). This is both scummy and disrespectful.

If you are struggling getting commissions or are just starting out, then host a raffle. Practice some more or adjust your prices to see if you can't grab people's attention. Art is not by any means an easy job, which is why I myself haven't committed to taking any commissions until I feel I am fully prepared to have people pay for my work. Not everyone is going to make big money, not everyone is going to get a huge following, and not everyone is going be super recognized. If the only reason you're doing art is for any of 3 reasons, then perhaps you need to reconsider your business model or hobby.
Being an artist means that you enjoy your work and the core reason you do it is to share your gift with the world and have fun while doing it. It should be something that makes YOU happy. If money, fame, and the like come along from your work then you should consider that as a bonus and not the primary reason for you making art. So long as you're able to sit back and enjoy a piece you made and feel proud of yourself and smile, then that's all that matters! That's what art is truly about!
Don't get discouraged if you work really hard on something and it doesn't get recognized. The world of art is flooded with so many artists that not everyone's work will get seen. Especially in these times where you're usually fighting an algorithm on social media sites and hoping that your work gets shared around enough to get noticed. That doesn't mean you did a bad job, it just means it got buried under the work of everyone else and nobody got the opportunity to see it. Don't give up! Keep trying!
Sorry for the huge rant, but this is something I needed to talk about that has kind of been irritating me lately since it has been happening to me frequently.

Between me constantly working shifts that take up an entire day (open to close) and some recent emotional events, I will not be using Twitter for quite awhile. I really in fact won't be active much of anywhere except for here. This includes Discord and Telegram as well. I will still answer messages that pertain to commissions I have purchased and maybe some light conversation, but for the most part I am just in too much of an emotionally damaged state to want to do anything other than drown myself in YouTube videos to try and get my mind off of things.
