Had to take my brother to the hospital
Posted 5 years agoHe was sent home from work, having issues with memory and was struggling to speak, and was having periodic chest pains. Got him to the hospital and his blood sugar was well above 300 and the doctor suspected it was in the 400s. His blood pressure was also astronomical. They thought he might be having a stroke or HAD a stroke but now they aren't sure, and they are holding him overnight for observation. The doctors suspect it's a mix of him being a chain smoker and having untreated diabetes. I'll know more tomorrow. But right now my nerves are frayed.

Posted 5 years agoUgh... I mean, yeah Biden won this hands down, but so did Hillary back in 2016. But he's still making the mistake of not embracing the party as a whole, including the centrists AND the Bernie Bros/Democratic Socialists like myself. And he is still playing way to nice with Trump letting him barge in on every sentence, and not calling out his falsehoods enough. He did finally snap once and mentions the lies once, but the hero of the day was freaking Chris Wallace.
Still. If there's another debate, Biden can't play civil and nice. He's got to go for the jugular and piece out every lie that Trump's told in as much time as he's given, and shut Trump up anytime he squeaks that cockholster Putin loves so much.
Ultimately Biden is the better choice, not the perfect choice, but ugh... He's got to stop playing nice.

There's two cancers on the supreme court that have no legal right to be there, and RBG was a crucial thorn in the side of the neo-nazi cheeto in the White House. If he gets to put another crony in the supreme court, it's very likely the US will enter a dark age of woman's rights, lgbtq rights, and civil freedoms in general.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be missed. She fought cancer inside her body and outside it.

Posted 5 years agoWriting this just to let off steam, but my brother's ex-girlfriend just took their dog, a pit bull named Stormie, and had her son dig a pit and put the dog in it and had her son shoot the dog several times with a pistol.
Now the dog had cancer, and was going to be HUMANELY put down, my brother's ex had been given the money BY HER MOTHER to have the dog put down, but instead she pocketed the money and spent it all on alcohol.
We found this out from the ex's roommate who left the house and went to my brother's gas station, crying about it.
Apparently the ex's son had never shot a gun before and after shooting the dog several times it was still alive, whimpering and trying to get out of the pit they dug. So he killed it by putting the gun to it's head and pulling the trigger.
Right now I'm furious as hell, this woman was off kilter as it was and she and my brother broke up over her drinking, and abuse, but this was far and beyond a new low.
She still has the cat she adopted from me, and couple other cats and puppy she got after my brother broke up with her, and I want SOMEONE to get those animals away from her. She doesn't deserve to have animals.

Posted 5 years agoOn this August the 25th. I am now 35 years old. Fun, fun, fun. Going to be hopefully ditching Viasat internet for fiber internet, and getting satellite tv once again. So I can be hopelessly lost trying to catch up on MHA and Black Clover on Adult Swim. But oh well, it'll be good to have internet that doesn't freak out when I'm trying to watch a livestream. Might even do one of my own.

Posted 5 years agoI just got it the Ultimate version for my 3DS. Kinda have no idea what I'm doing. I bought it mostly cause of adorable short cat people fighting dinosaurs and dragons. Just wondering if anyone's played it before. As a fan of insanely huge weapons and warhammers in general at least it looks like it's going to scratch some itches.

I'm tired from all the walking but dear god was this an experience. I've never been to a convention of any sort that was this size. I got to play a lot of X-Wing and even won a tournament on Thursday. (There was SEVERAL tournies and events for that game ALONE) So many cool booths, games, demos, etc. All of it was fun. Got into D&D 5th ed. as well. Picking up my Player's Handbook and Volo's Guide to Monsters at the con. My god I love this con. I just need to bring more money next time, as my friend gave me some money for helping his son move out from Milwaukee and move back in here in NC.

Internet is back for good I hope
Posted 6 years agoHad to go back to satellite internet, so video streaming quality is crap but ViaSat offers unlimited data, which is something Hughes Net didn't do back in the day. So we went with them. So no more weird partial net access like what I had with AT&T even when it was supposedly cut off. Also will be sending the direct TV boxes back tomorrow, but no real biggie, the only thing I'm missing out on is NFL Network, DBZ Super, Black Clover and the other Toonami stuff.

Posted 6 years agoMore updates on the internet situation, but July the 3rd AT&T is supposed to take back their hardware, don't know if they will be it is what it is. I plan on switching to Spectrum at 'some' point but I'm not sure WHEN. And going to pay AT&T piecemeal. Cell phone will just for now die, unless my brother ponies up the cash he owes, then...maybe. But, that's where we are at, at the moment.

Posted 6 years agoMost of the day of course the internet is down, but my phone could still access Facebook and a few webpages. A friend of mine told me it's because of it being 'pre-cached' or something like that. Now what's weird, is I can't access some websites, it takes me to ATT and says sign in, yadda, yadda you owe us money whatever.
Now I can't access Furaffinity normally either. But I can Google search it, click the link and come in just fine, though the site is as slow as molasses on ice. But I was able to check messages and such.
Guess I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, every time I tried to look at a picture it wouldn't initially connect saying some TSL, TLS? thingamabob is out of date, then if I refreshed the page would come up...though again, took forever. Not sure if this journal is going to even get out but hey, something is better than nothing and I'm pretty sure this won't last.

Posted 6 years agoInternet, cable and phones are down. AT&T agreed to take a partial payment. My brother pitched 300 dollars as they agreed on. Then AT&T still cut everything off, saying they agreed to ACCEPT a 300 dollar payment. Not keep everything going. I don't know when Darth Vader began working for AT&T.
But anyway just 881 dollars to have everything restored. Currently bumming Wi-Fi at the museum I volunteer/work at. But weekdays I'm mostly boned except for game night at the Spot.
