Final FA Entry - So long, and thanks for all the Porn
Posted 14 years agoYou may have heard recently that I've had a child; a son, to be more specific. It's true. His name is Aidyn, and he's the light of my life in most respects.
However, of late I've found that I have little time for art at all, and those rare times that I find myself with the time AND the desire, it becomes startlingly clear that I am terribly out of practice. most of my attempts look las though I'm drawing with my off hand.
And so, it is with a heavy heart that I take my leave of this and all other art commuinities. After all, what place has a man on an art site who can't draw?
I had some good times, and made some good friends, and I'll keep in touch as best I can. Just don't expect any new art from now on.
Keep it easy, FA, and goodbye.

Some Musings.
Posted 14 years agoIt's sad that I consider myself to be an intelligent man. Granted, most people will probably never really take the time to look in themselves in the eye and think about who they are. In all their lives, they'll never see their days as the droning, monotonous march it is, and will blithely continue on.
But really, are those who see through the veil of comfort and monotony any better? Do we do anything about it, knowing how our lives are getting less and less meaningful by the day? No. We settle into our little routines, despite knowing better, and even despising those who live in peaceful ignorance. It doesn't help to live in a time where everything's been done, everything's been said. There's nothing new. Nothing interesting anymore. We live our lives to the end of satisfying society's do's and dont's. And if we don't, we'll be berated. The pursuit of happiness and fulfillment is something not many people strive for anymore.
And I mean REAL fulfillment. Not doing what you're told and getting a dog treat for your effort. Fulfilling your own needs, doing what truly makes you happy, in spite of a world that tells you that you can't. I'd rather be happy than smart, but by the gods, I'll be both before I die.
Take pleasure in discomfort. It means you're doing something new, pushing yourself beyond your own comfort zone. That was never meant to be a bad thing, and only those too placid with their lives to see beyond their jobs and television sets would argue that. Nobody can ever expect to better themselves if they stay in their little safe boxes, doing the same thing every day. It's neither logical nor sensible.
I'm sure this will be discarded as rambling, and maybe it is. But let me ask you something, reader. Put some real thought into this. It'll be worth it.
When was the last time you were honestly, truly happy? If it was in your childhood, then you should take a good look at yourself and ask why.

Posted 16 years agoOkay, so here's the skinny. Kir needs chemotherapy, and without it, probably won't make it longer than a couple years. That's being optimistic.
So I've decided to start a commission service. $10 a pop, flat rate. I can't color at the moment, but I can ink. Anything will help at this point. I can pay for the chemo, but... I still need to eat, and pay bills.
It's not too bad considering. PM me if you're interested.

Posted 16 years agoIt's been some time since I posted a journal on here, and to be honest, I'm sick of looking at the old one. So I'll post anything I can think of that's new or interesting here to quell the screaming masses, all of whom are screaming for me.
Yes, me. I'm amazing.
I have a lot of new art, but only have access to a scanner on occasion, so you'll see a slow-but-steady trickle of art on here, and since I'm no longer posting on DA, this will be my go-to site for artwork.
The college thing went sour, so I'll give that another shot some other time. Not that I would have graduated anyway, I'm a total spaz. o 3o;

So pay attention.
First: I'm jobless again. That means it's time for more commissions. Dirt cheap, too. $5 flat rate. I will draw just about anything you ask me to, but I need rent money by the first, or I'll be homeless. And that would be... you know. BAD.
Next: I have been having breathing problems lately. Could be bronchitis, could be lung cancer after all these years of smoking. Either way, we'll see soon enough. If it turns out I DO have cancer, well. We'll worry about that when the time comes.
And lastly: I am awesome. That is all.

My name is Kirby... and It's a play on the word cur. I'm clever, bitches.

Kir's a hybrid of indistinguishable origin. He's probably a canid of some sort. It's just how I feel, I'm a mutt and I guess it spilled over into him. Sorry, Kir. ;____;
What color is your character and why? Hair/fur/eyes/etc
Hair: Black with red tips- natural.
Fur: Dark brown with cream highlights on his muzzle, ears, and running down his underside.
Eyes: Emerald green.
Why? Because I said so, and I like it.
What is your character's personality and how does this compare to your IRL personality?
Well, Kir's a really laid back kinda guy, and not prone to anger. He is, however, a bit of a spaz sometimes, and may freak out for no reason at all. He's unintelligent at times, and at others a genius. I guess that sums me up, too. ^___^;
What is one item your character owns that is significant to you IRL?
His locket, which is usually stuffed in a pocket.
What is one thing your character would say to you if you could meet?
"Hey, you. You with the face. Yeah you. Let's fuck."

He used to be smooth-furred, and used to have a nasty temper all the time. Now he's quite a bit more fluffy, and would go to the ends of the earth to protect the ones he cares about. He wouldn't have pissed on you to put you out had you been on fire, before.
