I've been so busy lately with parent-teacher conferences, end of Q1 (grading sucks!), and my restaurant job that I've been seriously neglecting FA and art and I hate it soooo.

I'll hopefully be getting some more time to work on things coming up soon. Progress has been very slow so far but I acknowledge that I've been slacking and I feel awful about it! :(

When people are super inconsiderate of other peoples' monetary limits or situations when planning group get-togethers. I'm a bridesmaid for my SIL and the bachelorette party is a camping trip over a weekend a couple weeks from now and it seems that costs keep coming up for things that I really don't even want to pay for or participate in. I feel extremely obligated to be there as my MIL tends to be on the 'guilt-trippy' end of a lot of things and doesn't think before speaking, which usually ends up with me feeling like a total piece of shit for saying no to something, even when I have a legitimate reason for not doing whatever it is.

It's beyond frustrating talking with all of the other bridesmaids when they bring things up like "we should go out to eat a bunch instead of packing food because it's less of a hassle" and "we're going to have a toga party so bring a toga or black bedsheet," when I have literally no money coming in and won't for several weeks still. A lot of the costs seem little but added up I've already spent close to $150 and will probably end up having to spend at least that much more over the course of the next month until the wedding on bridesmaid accessories (country wedding = I evidently need to buy cowboy boots which are hella expensive), a wedding gift, and this stupid party, not to mention my husband's groomsman outfit as well.

I want her to be happy and have everything she wants but at the same time, I can't do that if it puts me far into debt when I have my own stuff to pay off (loans are going to come due in about 6mos and I haven't factored how much I'll have to pay for that even yet). Money problems always seem to overwhelm me, so sorry about the rant, I just have to vent and hopefully I'll stop dwelling soon.

Anywho, I've opened commissions (unrelated to the above concerns, actually) and I think my prices are pretty reasonable. Check them out and tell your friends! :3

Here's an update on me, life, my trades, and..stuff in general!

We gained another family member a few days ago - We got ourselves a ferret! His name is Django, and he's a little terror. Photos will be coming shortly to show off just how adorable he really, truly is.

In other news, my husband and I will be attending a comic con in Chicago (C2E2) this weekend, which will be a nice break for me again. Teaching elementary is a lot more rough than I would have thought. I'm excited to see all the costumes and artists.

I'm still on the lookout for trades! The ones I have done have been so wonderful and fun. I'm plugging away at the ones I've currently got, but I'm such a perfectionist that some are taking longer than others. Just want to let everyone know I'm working hard!
