Posted 10 years agoso i thought i'd give you guys a heads up that i won't be working on fursuits for some time.
about two months before anthrocon i had a really bad depression/hoarding relapse and my whole studio/room is trashed. i'm in the process of cleaning it out again and trying to cope but i'm not sure how long it's gonna take me
last time, including ripping down an old broken bed and cleaning out from under it, and dragging out an old dresser took a month and i didn't even finish.

i have a problem

Anthrocon 2015 was amazing, Chevvron was a big hit with the con and i had a great time full suiting.
In addition I have a list of changes/upgrades I will be making to my studio relatively soon
-NO luxury shag will be used on my suits. If i use it it will be for minimal accents.
-Minimal foam in feetpaws.
-Plastic eyes and Tight woven buckhram eyes
-improved head shapes
And a few upgrades chevvy will be recieving
-New feetpaws
-New handpaws
-New legs and arms
-sewing in a new mouth lining

resin casting advice? URGENT
Posted 10 years agodoes anybody know a good reliable place to purchase urethane resin? i found a good type i like on monstermakers.com but unfortunantly it is rather pricy and will drive up the cost of my blanks exponentially. if anybody has any other reliable (possible affordable? or any idea on what a good cost of urethane resin is) sources please let me know ASAP

Posted 10 years agoso i've been doing some serious talk with a close friend of mine and mind you none of this will be immediate or in the near future, this is years in the future
i am going to try to plan on moving out to Anaheim California for my foreseeable future. or at least somewhere in that area for quite a few reasons
a.) i love the east coast but in order to further my costuming career there is nothing here for me.
b.) my mental health cannot stand to be in an area that snows more months out of the year than it is sunny. northern california offers consistent weather and temperatures that are within the range that i am okay with.
c.) i will be able to take my college education and get a job anywhere, so moving won't be a hinderance.
d.) there are SO many cons that are from the midwest towards the west coast that i would love to attend. Pittsburgh and Anthrocon will always be first in my heart but there are a lot more things out there and different people to meet.
and that about sums it up. my other choice if california doesn't work out for me is Arizona. putting a lot of planning into this directly after i graduate college. it's still a pipe dream at the moment but i'm hoping to make it a reality as soon as possible.

first off is mephisto pheles from ao no exorcits-i plan on buying this cosplay, which i know is frowned upon but i want it to be an easy cosplay to throw together by wizard world con
Deckham from Death Parade- easy casual cosplay. bartender's garb. and i already have a wig
lastly, Erik from animal crossing new leaf- this will be a fursuit but i consider it a "cosplay" because he is a character from a video game. (p. much have this planned for tekko next year, ginger deadcoon and my two commissions are the priority at the moment

i am in con cram mode, generally the last two weeks before i con a disconnect from all social media to finish projects and pack for con so i will be absent from MOST forms of social media except instagram

Posted 11 years agoJust a PSA as a fursuit maker I reserve the right to refuse a commission to ANYBODY. And I will do my research on a client before accepting a commission, so I'm going to take this time to make this clear.
I value my suits as art, not as a piece of clothing that you just put on your body. If I have any reason to think you would use my suits for inappropriate things, suggestive situations, or anything more than a PG rating I reserve the right to refuse commission.
I want my suits to stay clean and for lack of better words "child friendly". I do not find pictures of suits in suggestive poses, underwear shots, or likewise to be "cute" "funny" or "just messing around"
While I understand as a commissioner you have the right to do whatever you want with your purchase, I also have the right to be sure my art remains at a certain level that I dictate as appropriate.

resin, chevvron updates, and con plans
Posted 11 years agoAs of toady I've sucessfuly casted a bunch of little resin teeth for Chevvron and Deadcoon. SUPER excited because Chevvy's tail will also have resin teeth instead of the planned sculpey. Resin teeth and horns will now be the norm on ALL suits made from me.
Chevvy's updates have been going phenomenaly for anyone who follows me on instagram you can see everything pretty much in real time as I finish it.
So far he's gotten a bunch of stuff done
Hollowed muzzle, fixed/cut out nasty glue spots, new resin teeth, new eyes, and base repairs. I also started working on his bodysuit, so far i have his torso done and one hoof.
I plan on finishing him sometime within the next month. No later than the end of feburary.
And my con schedule! I like to keep this pretty up to date when I can. This MOSTLY concerns Tekko.
As many people know as of last year I decided that I will attend Tekkoshocon in Pittsburgh as a regular con. So considering this con is only a few months a way these are my plans so far.
I will be staying in a hotel this year to save myself on travel. It came clear to me during anthrocon that traveling every day is just a bit too much for me, considering my travel times average an hour and a half one way, two times a day.
I will probably be bringing two MAYBE three suits with me. One for sure being Chevvron, I've yet to decide the others. I'm thinking tibia and tabasco though.
