So I’d named the comic Flux but after a little bit of soul searching, I decided to put an end to the comic. It takes me days or even weeks to do a single page of a comic, where I can write twenty-plus pages of a story in an hour.

I work a full-time job. At night when I come home, I am exhausted. On weekends, the last thing I want to do is feel guilty for working on my house or garden.

I still intend to do artwork when the mood strikes me, but I’m not dedicating myself to a project.

I’ve shut down my Patreon and I’m going to let the website expire in May 2021. Thank you all for your support. I will still be around on Facebook, FurAffinity, etc. I will maintain my WebToon and Tapas accounts as archives of my past work.

Yep. I did that. I was trying to scratch an old database where I was hosting a former friend’s website that went dead and I accidentally deleted all of my databases instead.

…Admit it, you’re impressed.

So here I am, starting over from nothing. Seems like a theme in my life as of late, if I’m being really honest.

I’m going to do my best to rebuild all my information and credit my patrons for my past work. I love you all!

Today

Just wanted to give a quick thank you to David C. for pointing out broken links on my website. I really appreciate the help! Normally, I make my wife go back through my links as she loves reading my comic over and over again anyway, but David jumped on Act 01 for me.

I’ve gotten Acts 1 and 2 and the Act 2 side story up and I’m working on Act 3. Today, however, I’ll be installing shelves in my office so I can unpack the last of the boxes from our move. Gotta have somewhere to put all these collectibles. Stupid obsessions… taking up space… lol

In other news, we’ve been working on adopting a puppy! We fell in love with this 1-year-old shepherd mix at a local shelter, but she chomped at one of my ferrets, so we couldn’t adopt her. My ferrets free roam (when we’re home/awake) so it’s not fair to introduce an animal that would restrict their roaming. We applied for a second dog after seeing her react well to our ferrets, but were turned down because of her prey drive. I was pretty pissed and I let them have it… on a public Facebook post on their page. They weren’t interested in helping us because we had small animals and had I known that, I wouldn’t have wasted a month trying to adopt from them.

But a friend has puppies that are just about ready to leave Mamma and she’s giving us first pick. Pitbull/Great Pyrenees mixes, two breeds I love. I’ll post pictures tomorrow after we go meet the pups. We might bring one home then, or it might be a bit longer. Not sure yet.

Also Me: Crap, I've gotta send out gifts and photos, gotta load up the truck with Goodwill stuff, gotta pack shit, gotta prep the fuzzies for their vet trip!

I never win... -sigh- Also, I'm moving in less than two weeks. Sorry, guys. I promise I'm trying to get the next page out.

Hey guys! I'm back from Germany! It was an amazing trip! I loved it. I'd consider moving except I don't have the tongue for that language and I couldn't get a job without speaking it. I especially loved Berlin. It was so beautiful. If anyone is interested, I'm thinking about making my albums from the trip public on Facebook, when I get through them. I took over 1200 photos alone. That doesn't include what Brian took on his phone or his Nikon.

Anyway, I've got a few errands to run, then I'm gonna spend the next two days drawing before I return to work.

Oh! And someone I follow posted a long-form comic that fit really well, so I'm gonna test and see if my comics will work. If so, I'll resize my stuff for FA so you guys don't have to redirect.

Good news! I just finished storyboarding all of chapter 1 of my new series and I've just sketched page one! Gah!!! I'm so excited! The comic is real!!! It's no longer just a bunch of ideas in a google doc!

Soooo... I might not have a page for you next week. I doubled back at the last second and added a page, not sure I'll have it done in time. I was going to finish it today, but art commissions come first. I'll be working on it when I'm not at work this week, but can't guarantee I'll finish it. I will do my best though, I promise.

Even if LAR ends, I want to at least finish this page. I will also post the page after that is finished and I will post all my sketched pages on my website after I clean them up so you can at least see how the act ends.

I also think if voting stays in the direction of ending LAR, I will post a summary of how it ends with detailed notes on parts I planned out in detail already.

As you might remember, Jaska and Catlin from Life as Rendered are based on me and my ex-husband. When we broke up, he expressed a wish that I do not use his character anymore but allowed it for me to finish the story (with certain conditions).

While current events in the story aren't a problem to write about, the upcoming plot gets very difficult for me.
How would you feel about me just stopping LAR, leaving it with no resolution? I will push thru if that's what the majority want me to do.

I do have a new series in the works. I've already got the beginning started in my head and even did a mockup for page one to send to my husband mostly just to tease him. It takes place in the same universe and on the same timeline. I am really excited about starting this story.

Sorry for taking so long to say thank you, but this is the first time I've checked my notifications since Thursday.

Also, I have high-speed internet and a router that doesn't suck!! OMFG I'm as happy as a pig in shit! ...which is actually a false statement. Pigs are actually very clean animals...

I did the lines on the next page and decided to take a nap, but instead of sleeping, I laid there thinking about how the comic will end. Good for the comic, sucky for me.

OMG, do you have any idea how long it took me to upload the 9 completed pages? Hours! Satelite internet SUCKS!!! I'm not even half way thru uploading on the website. I finished Tapas, still have Tumblr to go. I've been at this all day (minus a 3 hr nap) Ugh!

Every Sunday, my 12 yr old nephew runs up to me and asks, "Has the next act come out yet?!" I think he might be my biggest fan.

I've been working an hour away from home, so most nights, I don't get home until 8pm. I eat PB&Js for dinner in the car. I spend an hour in the evenings unwinding, then I'm down for the count, only to do it all again at 5:30 the next morning. My days off so far have been spent on errands getting settled in single life. Needless to say, I have no life right now.

From here on out, things should be settling down so I can spend my days off on art.

The current arch I'm working on is five pages shy of being done, but I plan to start releasing pages again on August 1st, whether or not I get all five pages done. But I want to be 10 pages ahead of you guys at least (so minimum 3 pages)

Bottom line, I'm coming back in August!! I love you guys. Thanks for being so patient.

I have a new found energy for working on the comic, with big (good) changes coming to the storyline. Unfortunately, I'm down to basically one day a week that I have to work on the comic. I tend to work until 7pm most nights and after an hour's drive home, all I want to do is sleep. Out of my two days off a week, one is spent doing errands I can't do during the week and the other is Sunday, the only day I have to sit down and work.

So I'm putting it to you guys. Would you rather I stayed on hiatus, worked up a backlog of comics, then went to a once a week release schedule, or do you want me to go ahead and release what I have once a week, till I'm out of pages, then switch to a "whenever I finish a page" posting schedule?

Both have their merits. Staying on hiatus means I build up that backlog and you guys have a consistent release schedule to follow. It would mean staying on hiatus until I had at least two months backlogged. Releasing content now means I come back from hiatus sooner, but it means there's a possibility that releases can become infrequent on weeks where I'm too busy to work.

Please let me know what you think. Your opinions are very important to me.

I just want to reiterate that we are now on hiatus. I’m not sure how long the hiatus is going to last. I start a new job today and will have to figure out how much I can accomplish in a week with the comic after hours. Thank you for your patience during this major change in my life.

Now to tell you what’s going on.

I am getting a divorce. I left my home and family and moved back in with my parents on the other side of the country. I won’t go into the details because honestly, it’s no one’s business.

What does this mean for the comic?

Nothing is going to change. The story will continue as planned, though I’m losing my co-writer. I will be ending the comic sooner than planned, stopping at the end of Part 1.

Personally, Blue wishes I will kill off his character, but he has given me permission to use his character however I want.

I need you guys to bear with me over the next few weeks. If I’m a day or two late putting up the comic, please forgive me. Things are really bad right now and I’m getting ready to move cross-country back to my folk’s place at the end of this week. I’ll be on the road for about a week, so I’m sure wi-fi will be sketchy at best if at all. The April hiatus will probably last longer than two weeks and I will probably have to drop down to a once a week release schedule. I will keep you guys informed and once I’m ready to talk about it, I will tell you what is going on.

Just a quick heads up. The comic will be going on a two week hiatus in April and will then be switching to a two pages per week schedule. I've been adjusting to new meds that make me really sleepy, holy crap, I have a tiny bit of a social life and I'm not working 12-14hr days every day of the week anymore. Needless to say, I'm feeling stressed and behind, which I hate. I don't have the buffer between me and the last posted page that I like to have (normally I like a 3mo gap. I have a 1mo gap) I'll still be posting my warmups and I will keep you guys up to date as we get closer to April.
