Where are you staying?
Doubletree
Where will you be most of the time during the days?
Fursuiting, probably. Maybe wasting time doing art somewhere.
Who will you be with?
Northsound, mostly. We tend to all stick together.
Do you do free art?
Sometimes when I'm drunk, but I can't promise quality.
Do you do trades?
Depends on who's offering.
Do you do commissions?
Nope.
What suits will you have?
Klickitat and Mome Rath (ooh, secret!), Kaleetan and Brighton (worn by my boy)
What is your gender?
Female. YES I AM A GIRL. YOU DO NOT NEED TO GROPE ME TO CONFIRM THIS.
How old are you?
I will turn 29 the week before con, so buy me drinks! :D
How tall are you?
Umm..5'5"?
Can I touch you?
I'm not much of a touchy feely kind of person. Please respect my space unless I approach you.
Can I talk to you?
If you have showered and are also not crazy.
Can I buy you lots of drinks?
Yes. I encourage this.
Can I give you lots of money?
I won't say no.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
If I hug you, that's cool, or if I have known you for a long time. For the love of god no scritches or anything even in suit! Bad mood bear will result.
Are you nice?
At con, generally I am drunk. So either I'm your best friend, or I hate you.

Badges?
General | Posted 17 years agoWho's open for badges right now? I need some for Rainfurrest later this month.
Progress wow
General | Posted 17 years agoSince my last journal post I've brought those two fursuit heads nearly to completion. Today I'm attaching their noses and then making eyes. All that will be left to do is sew on neckflaps and they'll be 100% wearable. After that we can fit them with fans, but I'm considering that a step *after* the rest of the suits are finished. I can't believe that in such a short amount of time I've gotten that much work done on two fairly complicated heads, and that beyond that - they look awesome!
Next up will be tails, I think. Oh, did I mention I have a working serger (Husquavarna!) now? I do. It's very handy, when it's not chewing through thread and living up to it's nickname: Goblin Enginnering.

Dog peoples, other fursuit head stuff
General | Posted 17 years agoSpent pretty much all night working on Brighton and Mome Rath, the malamute and husky pair of suits on my plate right now. Matrices helped to tweak one of Brighton's ears so it looks a little more balanced, but I'll finish that up probably tomorrow. I fully furred Mome Rath tonight (while watching Alice in Wonderland, of course), and started shaving down her muzzle. I was a little drunk so I took it easy and just did the basic trimming, I'll save the detail work for more sober times.
Matrices sculpted a nose for Brighton in exchange for a package of Sculpey Ultra Light (my new favorite stuff), and I'll try and match a nose for Mome Rath in the same style, shouldn't be too hard. Brighton just needs his finish trimming, teeth installed, nose attached, and eyes placed and his head is finished. I took it from a foam blank to this stage in less than a week. Mome Rath went even faster, I can't believe it.
Rainfurrest is in less than a month. I know I won't have Brighton and Mome Rath fully ready to wear at con (as awesome as that would be, I just don't think I have the energy to devote to it). I do have two older heads I want to revive and try to hawk in Artist's Alley though - a deinonychus/velociraptor that I think I'll be furring in forest green, black, and bright white, and then a generic arctic fox. The raptor needs it's mouth finished up, and the fox needs it's foamwork finished before I can even think about furring.
What are "off the shelf" fursuit heads selling for nowadays? I have no intention of seeing either the raptor or the fox to finished suits for myself, nor do I really want to make them into partials for sale on furbid. Just heads.

New suits, already?!
General | Posted 17 years agoYes, it's true, I am just that stupid. With Matrices' and Kaleetan's help I've started work on two new suits. One will be a big malamute (for Kaleetan), and the other will be a smaller husky for myself. I'd like to have the heads done in time for Rainfurrest next month, although the full suits won't be ready to go until probably Further Confusion in January.
I'm excited because I'm working with BRIGHT COLORS - two different pinks, bright yellow, lavendar, bright turquoise blue, and pure white. A nice change from natural real animal colors. My husky is hopefully going to have UV blacklight LEDs in her claws, if Kaleetan and I can figure out how to wire them without too much effort.

Fursuiting disappointment
General | Posted 17 years agoWell, I can finally call Klickitat 1.5 and Kaleetan "wearably done," meaning that at this point I don't have to do anything more to the suits for them to be able to go out in public.
They debuted at Bellfurs this weekend and sadly we didn't enjoy ourselves at all. I was really disappointed that the furries there were so rough on our suits, both Kaleetan and myself were tackled/glomped/ear-tugged/tail-tugged/squeezed/groped the entire time we were in character. It's a huge bummer that furries, who have seen fursuits before and know what they are, didn't use common sense around people in suit. Klickitat had her salmon forcefully stolen from her (and she ended up on the ground trying to get it back), and Kaleetan had his butt touched way too much, "bear tail! bear tail!" YES BEARS HAVE TAILS. WE KNOW THIS. Won't be suiting at Bellfurs again unless we have better handlers or people learn to keep their hands to themselves. I would have expected it from a park full of little kids but not from a bunch of adults who knew exactly the amount of time and money that goes into these costumes. Anyways, lame.
Damage check when we got home revealed that Klickitat had part of her right ear torn open from grabby hands pulling on it, fortunatley that's a quick hot glue fix. Kaleetan seems to have made it out alright, I need to check the seams in his tail to make sure none of the thread was popped. We used upholstry grade thread on it but it was handled really rough.
