Cut to bits
General | Posted 9 years agoMy car was cut to bits!!!!
It wasn't any good anyways... It's kind of ironic though how it came to be a pile of scrap metal.
One yearish ago a 97 Mercury Cougar XR-7 showed up for sale at a mechanic shop near me, and it was a killer deal. The car had a great engine with all kinds of new parts due to its age, and was a pretty clean car. It could've used some fresh paint but who cars it's old enough to vote... But I just couldn't see cutting up a perfectly good car just to raid it's engine and transmission for one car and the rear end for another car. It then would have either been parted out or turned into a drag racing toy just for giggles. But instead we convinced my cousin to replace a dead SUV with it and a few months later she pulled out in front of a sedan traveling at 60 mph and the cougar's passenger door was shoved in over 1 foot. Both cars were single occupant luckily, and both had just minor injuries, but both cars were totalled. The cougar was traded back to my dad who fixed the old SUV up for it, as the engine was still good and his truck needed it. Recently we found a better engine and transmission in a salvage yard that I had planned for a project, when we decided that he would use the junkyard one and I would use the cougar's. Well today was the last day of cutting the car to bits, and I mean bits. Roof, back window, in front of the seats it was cut then split into two roofless half's of the back of a car, the engine was cut free from the frame, and now it sits with an engine and transmission bolted together, with a front suspension system beside it, the firewall and windshield with dashboard still in(bent to hell) and wires wrapped around it nearly 2 times, a driveshaft laying on the dirt between that and a whole independent rear suspension system. And as we finished up an irony hit me... If we had bought the cougar' ourselves it would have prevented 2 crashes. She would have been able to see in the SUV and wouldn't have pulled out in front of another car, and my dad's classic truck would have been getting surgery to have the cougar's suspension installed, so he never would have tried to rush it into driving state and it wouldn't have got hit. Now it is just a heap of metal on a flatbed trailer...
The engine is going in a 95 F150 pickup just to be different, the front body clip and rear bumper and tail lights are being hung on a 99 explorer frame and making a modern interpretation of what a UTE would look like in a Mercury, because I don't remember if they ever made a UTE... A convertible 97 Mercury Cougar didn't exist so that is happening too.... A convertible 97 Cougar 4x4 UTE, I'm calling it the Murrcury Bobbedcat...
But damn was it fun to use a sawzall and death wheel to turn a $30,000 luxury sports car into a pile of metal and parts... I got done cutting the roof off and stood up, lifting the roof with me and walked away!!!

General | Posted 11 years agoJust as the clouds being to loom overhead I think 'hmmm, maybe I should turn off my computer and tv, it looks dark outside...' go to take a drink of my margarita and 'pop' the screen goes black... 'okay I really hope it comes back on....' luckily it did and I then unplugged all my shit but phew, this old ass LG at least seems to have working power surge protection, but it scared the hell out of me =P
I guess the next time I think I should unplug my tv, I need to do it immediately.. lol

help our four legged friends
General | Posted 11 years agoA family friend has a dog who has been having seizures for a while now and she is getting worse... The dog is a beautiful German Shepherd and Wolf mix, named Nina. She is a sibling of my sweet puppy dog, and she is in a great loving home. The owner is terrified of losing her, and the medication she has been on has stopped working.
She needs an MRI and further medication, and the family simply cannot afford it all. They are asking for help to save the sweet dog, and I really want to know what is going on with her because she is my dog's sister, and we know another sibling of them. They are all 3 gorgeous, sweet, well mannered canines, and aside from Nina's seizures, and my dog Blue has heterochromia which make depth perception bad for him, they are extremely healthy. Just four years old, we hope for Blue, Nina and Riley to be in our lives for a long time. Please help us to save her, if you can.

General | Posted 11 years agoI can see my Jeep, well most of it =P I've been digging it out of my shop, starting to clean and prepare suspension and drivetrain parts for the build. I was forced to relocate almost 2 years ago and just got a loft space in my shop to have storage finally. Now I have a few more piles of parts to move before pushing the jeep outside for a wash. While it's out I'm moving the drag car to a better spot in the shop, and I have 3 60 gallon tank air compressors and 4 engines to move around. All the big power engines too =P then I can put the work bench against the wall and get the 4wd front axle out of the jeep.
I'm build my Jeep, an 88 Comanche pickup, 2wd with a ford ranger front suspension, big brakes and a scary ass 400 hp EFI 289cid V8. With a 5 speed and a very aggressive suspension it should handle pretty well on loose gravel, light mud and asphalt. Nitto crosstec tires on black steel 17x9 wheels with a few aggressive body flares to give it that wicked look =)
Also I have a new job, I was doing decent but it is the slow season in Florida, but I just got setup to start working on foreclosure houses doing basic installations of carpet, mostly over existing cushion, in completely empty homes. I finally found a chance to make as much money as I can physically accomplish. It pays low by volume, but the volume of foreclosures down here is nearly limitless. Hurray for plentiful work, I'm so glad to have a job I mostly enjoy... =P

When the cars attack
General | Posted 15 years agoI have been busting my ass on my jeep, I swear it feels like the fucker ran me over LOL
I finally mounted the doors on the cab(Hinges were worn past use) and was jumping around like a little kid when I heard them click!!! (or would have if I hadnt been drop dead tired)
It looks like soon I may actually get to drive my little beasty!
However on another car note, I did my buick's tune up... now the POS runs worst... My Mass Air Flow Sensor took a major shit... I was driving home after working on my truck and the engine sounded like it was going to fall out. Thats when the weirdest thing happened(how I figured out the actual problem). I pulled over, popped the hood, unplugged the MAF(most important sensor on the engine) and the car ran a tiny bit better... The problem... MAF sensor for my car is $200... I have like $40 to my name right now, I cant even get one at the junkyard for that...
Thats why I opened for commissions...
Please y'all, I'm trying to get a job and the only promising place I found is pizza delivery... I cant exactly do that when I get a free massage chair just driving to get groceries...

I consider a fair trade to be near equivalent quality. I'm not giving you a sketch for a flats and vise versa

All prices are an estimate. All are for a full body pic. Easier characters, smaller projects(badges, waist ups, busts are all priced case by case) will be less. Harder characters(complex tatoos, wings, ect.) and backgrounds will be more.

very few changes can be made to color
Proving clear references is key(I dont necessarily need ref sheets or even pics), describing small details is very important, I provide my messengers for this reason
refunds deduct a 25% fee once sketch has been started due to materials used

General | Posted 15 years agoso, lets just say you like my art. Lets say you are thinking about using my art. Where do I stand on this?
I'm actually quite lenient about how my art is used:
1, Any art containing Kandy or another personal character is forbidden to be use as avatars, edited, traced or used in any other way.
2. Reposting my art to sites such as Fchan and e621 are... permitted, but I'd kind of prefer you didn't.(make sure the sig is still visible)
3. Requests, trades, and commissions are to be used only by those requesting or those in the pic itself
4. DO NOT repost/trace/edit/use as avvies/claim ANY art containing someone else's character. I will get involved if someone is stealing another persons char.
5. Do not sell my artwork for your own personal gain, it is just wrong. I work hard at what I do, I've been slowly improving for 2 years and not so I can fill your wallet... I already have to pay taxes, thats enough grubby fingers in my $$
6. I'll be posting some line art for free use, these will be marked IN THE DESCRIPTION. If its marked, use it, if not, DONT. Please, I created Kandy as other people have created their characters, and we dont appreciate you stealing our consepts.

My lil puppy blue had a blast playing with my sis' roommate's 120+lb Great Dane pup!!
I also found out wolf mixes are banned there, I dont know if its just Transylvania county or all of NC, but it looks like my moving plan has been changed up slightly.
I am happy to be back actually, maybe getting away from the source might help my skin heal... Till then the pencil is just a dream :(
