Upgrading from a 4 year old cheapy laptop, this basic tower is a decent peice in the power standpoint, with a 2.7 dual core, 4GB ram, 750GB HD, and my first win 7 machine. Monitor size is about 4.5inches larger than lappy, each core almost twice as fast, 4x ram, and MASSIVE amounts of HD... A VERY nice upgrade! setup was a breeze, connected right away, I had to look inside to make sure the fans were on its soooooo quiet! The keyboard is kind of a crappy one, as the mouse, but I have a nice multimedia pair I'll be swapping out next restart.
I have barely got this thing out of the box, but it far out performs anything else I've used! And the amazing part is it was under $500!!!!!!!!!! Like I said I have had good expirences with eMachines before, and thats alot of what made up my decision. I will see just how it performs as I use it, but my grandparents love their eMachines, and my parents HPs suck to a whole mew level! I was tempted by another Toshiba, but the price would have been out of my range, as were dell, mac, and most other systems in the same basic class.
A comarison of my comps to cars would be, IDK... My first HP tower(04-08): a geo metro(everything just died)... My Toshiba Lappy(06-current): umm, IDK, a ford taurus(blew a head gasket and overheated)... This new Machine: Nissan Skyline...
I am going to take care of this thing like its my only child lol... I'm going to 'keep' antivirus software current. dust will NOT build up inside it. It will be shut off when not in use. I will make the recovery DVD's*note to self*
And most importantly, I'm the only one who's gonna use it...
I would recomend this machine(ET1831-07) to those who need a decent basic computing box, without all the extra software bull most higher priced units have.
I'm off to explore all new parts of the interwebz I have never seen before...

General | Posted 15 years agoSo I got one, FINALLY... My Toshiba laptop has been the best comp I've ever had(I hate HP and their shitty PC's) but its definitely past its prime. The fan sounds like it has a rodknock, the brushes in the motor are TOAST... But for the amount of time spent on the lil thing, I think its allowed to be tired. I've been on edge alot recently, and I know its part no ride/part dieing comp. So I had saved a bit of $$$ and FINALLY friggen got some from work (never work for family, especially when they're as backstabbing as mine)
So the cash was just burning holes in my pocket, ya know! What did I do... Go buy a brand new eMachines desktop PC!!!!!! 18.5" monitor, dual core intel processor, 4Gb ram, 750 HD, 6 months ask the geeks included, DVD burner, Win 7 equipped, and no finger burning keyboard, its MORE than I need! $492.18 from bestbuy, its a great deal. I've had good luck with eMachines before, and I dont push my comp to the limit with hardcore gaming, so I think it'll be fine. I do need better power protection(how I lost my last e) and I want battery backup for my modem and tower, but that'll be the next trip to best... I havent hooked it up yet(still on my overheating lappy), and I still have to make some more desk room. I should be getting it in and powered within the hour, and hopefully online before I go to bed.
I'm teh happiest husky online right now!!!!!! Better than sex(cause it lasts longer and is usually cheaper in the end), I have a grin from ear to ear!

I just have one question....... HOW DID I ACQUIRE SOOOOOO MUCH SHIT!!!!!!!! really, its all a bunch of S-H-I-T!!! lol
I really need to keep on it, but I didn't feel like taking on this task while I was depressed... I'm in a much better mood now, and having the first 'day off' after a month of moving at work, I decided my room needed cleaned...
The dog's helping me too, and by help I mean get in the way... But he's good company :)

I guess I kinda disappeared huh... Life's a bitch like that sometimes, and that's the way the cookie crumbles.
So anyway, I vanished from the state of Floriduh for a lil while, stepbro blew his truck up and I had to fix it.... Thanks to that fustercluck I no longer like working on (or dealing with in any way) automobiles... I think it's time for a new hobby, maybe something clean LOL
I've been Terrorizing the Carolina's for a couple weeks now, and right now I'm staying with my sista!!
Just thought the ole page was due for a status update, I need to dig out the pencils once I get back home. I probably forgot how to friggen draw in the last like 2 months, Grrrr. It's like riding a bike though, so I should pick it back up quick if the mind lets me. For now I'll just keep barkin around in the mountains, taking in the fresh air and views.

The tach reads double, its a torque monster in the low RPMs. I'm not too concerned about the tach, its a 7k tach which gives me a good 3500. This I6 doesn't have too mach past that anyway. I would like to know how to fix it, but eh!

I'm kind of excited about my new $200 score for it(new years day score actually) and I'll get back on teh little beast once I'm healthy enough to go back to work. It's actually not far now, just a few things to check off the work list before reassembly. Then its a few test drives to see how it does and I should be driving it!! hehe

So I'll say it right now. 2009 SUCKED... It sucked so funking bad that I dont even want my damn journal to have an 09 date...
A short summary; fought with my dad, lost 2 shitty yobs, van blew a motor, spent 6 funking months trying to fix a Jeep(Still not done), now cant even talk to my real father, got into a roadside brawl with some dumb redneck fucks, lost all but 2 friends, one of those 2 got shot(Kinda his own damn fault), still havent made over $3000 at my 3 shitty ass yobs(I hate working for retards), lost half my tool set in my dads catastrophe of a shop, pulled more goddamn muscles and had more goddamn pain working my ass off for the tiniest chumpchange...
But not all was bad:
-Moved back to my moms, happier than ever
-Got a Jeep, six months of work into it, but I always wanted a Jeep Truck!
-Realized that what I want is the true key to my happiness, so fuck the rest of the world!
I also came to realize my Bisexuality, dont really care what anyone might think of me. I'm still waiting for another 6-8 months before I even begin to look into a relationship, but atleast I know a little better who I am.

Happy Holidaze everybody! This husky's gunna get a lil fucked up tonite!! hehe
I've tried to avoid as much of the crappy music and TV as possible, and I didn't get anyone anything! lol ... My family had a ... X-mas bush... and a few ornaments would crash against the tile as I got a late nite snack... It started to die so it went back into the yard. We dont even have enough presents for the fam to cover a dinner plate, so no worries! lol
Personally I cant wait for '10, '09 SUCKED ASS to a whole new level! Hopefully I can get my truck fixed, without another fucking asshole trying to get me to buy their half blown up POS... I CANT AFFORD TO FIX MY TRUCK, HOW THE FUCK AM I GUNNA BUY ANOTHER PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!!!! Sorry, I dont know what just came over me...
Anyway, enjoy the day. I'll be in a holidaze all weekend, it'll be fun!!

On another note, I'm back with the pencil. Seem I got a great present for teh holidaze, my art block is slipping away! I'm working on a few projects, new and old, and I'm also working on something different. I've got a start in some stories, and also some artwork relating to the stories. One is slow in progress, the other is coming along quickly. Look for them soon, and the teaser WIP pic from both will be up too.
Edit: so on an x-mas and drawing note... My cool as hell mom got me some sweet art supplies!! A pastel set, 12 colors, and a charcoal set with a book on the basics. Pretty fuggin cool! I also got an I-pod with an arm band holder for teh gym. I damn good x-mas for not wanting something... lol

I cant wait to actually drive it home, and really I have almost all the parts to do it. I need a piece for the vacuum booster, weld the exhaust, put the body and dash back together, shock mounts and fuel system... OH AND LETS NOT FORGET TYRES!! They're friggen eggs lol
