Terrible Video Games
Posted 15 years agoJust finished playing this game called White Knight Chronicals. While not at the top of my worst game EVER list, I think it steals a close second. This game actually made me want to go to Japan and walk into Level 5, the games developer, and demand my money back... and burn the build down after i got it... and piss on it's asses.
It sucks to be me
Posted 15 years agoIt's frustrating to say the least. I try so hard to better myself, but when it comes down to what really matters I find I haven't changed at all. I'm a procrastinator, and I always will be. I'm finally starting to realize just how much that's going to screw me when I really need to make an impression. I'm trying to be more proactive and involved and driven... but it just seems like no matter how hard I try it just isn't enough.

Posted 15 years agoSo this is the second apple thing I've made this week. This previous weekend was the Ellijay Apple Festival, so we have tons and tons of apples. After last weeks success with the apple crisp I decided to do something a little more involved this week. This one is still a pretty easy recipe to make and while it is similar then last weeks it is more difficult if only because there are more steps. Just FYI I didn't make the pie crust I used premade, for shame, i know, but what can i say. Here's the recipe if any of you want to try it out.
Filling
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup fresh ginger, coarsely grated
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 apples, peeled, cored and thinnly sliced.
Topping
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup oats
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place a premade dough on 9 inch pie pan and lightly dust with cinnamon. Crimp edges with a fork. Combine filling ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix until apples are covered well. If you can let this mixture sit for about half an hour we think the apples will taste more delicious but this is optional. Spoon filling mixture into pie crust. In another large mixing bowl, mix topping ingredients until the butter forms crumbles. Evenly spread topping over pie. Wrap the outer ring of crust in tin foil and cook for 30 minutes. Remove foil then cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until crust looks golden brown. Let pie cool for 1 hour, then enjoy. Once again it's better served with homemade whipped cream and caramal but whatever works for you.

The Furry Chef: Apple Crisp
Posted 15 years agoLast night I made Apple Crisp in a crock pot. It was amazing and it made the entire appartment smell like christmas for six hours. It bordered on a form of cruelty and torture. I think the next time I make it I might add sliced ginger instead of using ground ginger but I'm just crazy like that. Anyway, it was really easy to make. Here's the recipe if any of you want to try it out.
6 apples; peeled, cored and sliced
stick and a half of butter; softened
1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup uncooked oats
1 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Place sliced apples into bottom of greased crockpot. In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground ginger. Add butter and vanilla extract to dry ingredents and mix until small clumps form. Spread mixture evenly over apples, breaking up any clumps that are two large. Top and cook for 5-6 hours. Serve with homemade whip cream and caramal.

Ice Cream Bear
Posted 15 years agoYou know, while working at an ice cream store has its obvious benefits... I can't help but sit here at midnight with a huge thing of ice cream sitting on my stomach and a glass of rum and coke in paw and think... "Damn I'm getting fat." Hopefully though I won't be working there much longer. I've been looking into getting a career rather then a job and I've found several promising government jobs. Hopefully by this time next year I'll be making salary instead of minimum wage.
Alpha and Omega

Posted 15 years agoSo I've started listening to their stuff thanks to pandora. They aren't bad, kinda of trippy but man they have some really good songs. Some of my favorites, Though they might not be their most popular songs.

Who wants Ice Cream
Posted 15 years agoSo I have a new job working at a cold stone creamery. It's not a great job but it does pay so I'm not complaining. But I guess I'm going to have to start working out more or i'm gonna get fat with all this ice cream.`
Strange Dream
Posted 15 years agoI had a strange dream last night.
I was investigating a spooky house with scooby and the gang when we found a room that had a gaping hole with teeth in the middle of the floor. We all jumped in and I woke up (within the dream) in a summer home I'd never seen before and everyone I knew was there. This women (one of those faceless people in dreams where you know it's a women but can't really make out any details of her face) was tring to convence me to marry her and apparently had possessed everyone into chasing me. Just when I thought i was caught by my possessed friends... I found a baseball bat.
So I just want to say sorry that I beat the crap out of all of you with a baseball bat in my dreams. It was for your own good.

Midsummer update
Posted 15 years agoI might have a new job if the interview tonight goes well. I'll be earning minimum wage once again but it'll be at Coldstone creamery (an ice cream palor, and a posh one at that) so there will at least be some fringe benefits... I'm gonna get fat, i just know it.
My brothers wedding is in two days and the family is already starting to gather from across the nation at my parents place. If I get this job I'll probably introduce Nami to the folks this weekend as well. That should be intresting.
Speaking of Nami, she and I have finally hit our stride with each other. Sure she still wimpers from time to time when she is in her cage and she's become very animal aggressive while on walks but she is really starting to pick up on what it is she should be doing when I correct her and I'm really starting to pick up what it is she wants when she whines.
School is actually going really well this semester which is suprising because I thought a summer semester would be harder then usual semesters. We've gotten through the hard part of genetics and we're moving on to Mendellian genetics which is easy and while I don't entire follow the thick eastern european accent of my physics teacher her tests are stupid easy as well.
All in all, I'm doing ok. I'm still suffering from waves of BLAH for lack of a better term but it's no where nearly as bad as it used to be. Slowly but surely I'm pulling myself out of the rutt I was buried in. I hope you all are doing just as good.
Love and Kisses,
Koda

A date
Posted 15 years agoI'm so outside of my little box right now. Next week is my brother's wedding and I've asked a friend from school to be my date for the evening. I've already had to go to one wedding with my extended family this year and there wasn't enough booze under the sun to black out those memories, so this time i'm going in prepared.
Bear Musings
Posted 15 years agoIs it better to be around people who are a really bad influence on you or to be alone?
I ask this question is all seriousness because the last six months have been very eye opening for me. Back around christmas I made some life changing decisions that cut all those people out of my life that were draging me down (both physically and mentally) but now i'm realizing that in doing so I've pretty much cut 9/10's of my "friends" out of my life. Honestly I feel like an asshole (and I was to some people) but I am starting to miss some of these people... even if they were a bad influence. I will also admit that some people who were no included in the above mentioned group of people got cut out because of relationships they have with those people. It was an all or nothing change and I guess i'm might be starting to regret it.

quick update
Posted 15 years agoStill Jobless and Broke but I've had some promising interviews.
Nanami is doing much better now that she is no longer sick or has an eye infection.
One more year (two semesters) of school left after this summer.

Cinco De OMG AQUABATS!!!!
Posted 15 years agoSo Conan Kitty and I went to Moe's last night for $3 burritoes and margaritas. Then we went from Moe's to the Masquerade to see The Action Design and the Aquabats. It was FUCKING AWESOME!!! If you've never been to the Masquerade's Hell Room, it sets the standard for grung punk, all dark and very close quaters, and the Action Design rocked the place. But the real party started when the Aquabats came out. I was so close to the bands I was able to touch the bands. Oh yeah, i also learned that next time I want to see a concert in from a mosh pit, i should wear real shoes instead of sandles, but ... it was worth every second.

New Story Idea
Posted 15 years agoSo I have a new story i've been working on called "Big Bad Wolf". It was kinda inspired by the game Heavy Rain (which is amazing btw). You guest it though it's about a killer, who covers his victums in a red cloth, and the investigators who are trying to catch him. I just barely begun writing though because of school. I'm hoping to have the first part up in a couple of weeks after all my final reports and finals are over.
Intern update
Posted 15 years agoIt's official I'm now a paid intern...
That point
Posted 15 years agoHave you ever reached that point in your life when you realize the way you've been living just isn't going to cut it anymore. So far i've lived my life on luck and lies and i'm slowly realizing it just isn't going to cut it anymore. I'm in the funny state being being a kid and being an adult. I guess this is when I'm going to find out what it is i'm really made of. Sorry if this is kinda drama-ish, it's just a musing...
In the good news department: I get to be someone's bitch
Posted 15 years agoNext semister I start my internship. I'm looking forward to it even though it's at the school itself. That basically means I'm going to be my professors goofer. Honestly thought, i'm going to use that oportunity to really get my name out there as I meet some of the other biologist she works with. And if my classes actually let up (fat chance) I'm going to start looking into volenteering again. Hurray for unpaid labor ... ... ... I just made myself sad.

Nami Dog Update
Posted 15 years agoWell it's been about three months since i first got Nanami. The more time I spend with her the more and more I see the golden retrever in her. She tries to put just about everything in her mouth which has gotten her the nickname Omnomnom. Everything from pinecones to poop, tennis balls to my foot (no she didn't bite, just put my foot in her mouth becaus she a freak... or just has a fetish). We've been going for walks every morning and she has gotten much better at not pulling the lead, she's even gotten to the point where i can actually make it to the parking lot of the apartment within 10 minutes YAY!!! But seriously she's had some issues but one by one we've been working on them and she really is become the perfect dog for me. In retrospec, i'm kind of glad I got Nami over a full german shepard (don't get me wrong i still want a GSD) but as a first dog she is great.
