Keep forgetting to update this, herp derp. Admittedly, I've had other stuff to worry about as of late.

Long and short of it is, while I still suffer from the occasional power out here and there, it's not as bad as before. Back to normal? Maybe, but I'm wary to say it just yet.

That said, I will probably try again at resuming the streams next week, barring more shenanigans.

In the meantime, I'll also be doing daily "OC-Tober" art challenges where I give some love to characters even I haven't thought up in a very long time. Call it a mental break from so much fanart and commissions (even if some OCs started life as fan-characters themselves. I was a teen when I made these, cut me some slack).

I will TRY not to let these daily pics get in the way of owed commissions, hence why the weekly updates, so regular commission work is updated every other day as they are completed. That said, some of these are testing my speed prowess and showing me...still got a ways to go in terms of speed and quality. But so help me, I will get there! Hopefully you'll join me for the ride, too.

Will announce when I'm officially open for standard commissions again once I am caught up, though thankfully I'm nearly finished, so it should be soon :3

Ok so as some of you witnessed last night when I tried to stream, POWER WENT OUT! And I was hopeful that it would be fine since there have been days where power stays on all day and I figure, might as well right?

Nope. Went out. And while I did come back sometime later, the frustration killed my mood to stream further and made for a meh night art-wise.

So, you know, THAT is still a thing.

BUT. BUT.

It is October, my dudes. I will not let shenanigans like this get in my way of art, dangit, I refuse!

So I will be doing commission catchup of all I got pending, including stream commissions and will also try my hand at something I call 'OCtober', where I simply draw my own Original Characters for a change, because it's been far too long.

I can't guarantee I'll share these every day for obvious reasons, but I'll do what I can because, dangit, I need this.

And for those still donating, you have my thanks. I'm not sure WHY you're donating, as I haven't asked anyone to continue or anything and I'm thankfully a bit better than I was before, but you have my thanks all the same, as every little bit helps keep me and mom fed and sane.


But yeah, that's about it, you guys stay good now. Sorry again for lack of art lately.

So boy oh boy where to begin.

*CAN* I begin?

Well the short of it is no stream tonight. While there is a potential storm passing by sometime tomorrow and just yesterday I legit had like 6 power outs happen in one day....not actually the reason for no want to stream!

No, chalk that up to being forced to stop in the middle of the highway to have a nice day because of strange clacking sounds in the back of your mom's car, that forces you over to the blissfully close Pep Boys to get it looked over. *Six hours* we spent waiting in the nearby mall just for the estimate and the repairs and the price in all was...well, it was *rough*. And mom's car (our only car, no less) being a 10-year old car means that the very pricey fix may not even be a permanent solution, despite the fact that a brand new car just ain't an option right now.

...so, uh, you'll forgive me if I'm not quite ready to get back to streaming. Will still continue on owed art when RL and sanity allow it but I can't put an ETA like I thought I could after all.

Thank you so, so much for your patience. Trust me, I'm not happy about this, either. But I can't deny that I've still have plenty to be thankful for overall -- still alive, still got a house and family and people to chat with and, well, whatever you guys call yourselves. Fans? Acquaintances? Masochists? Whatever, you guys should be proud of being you. You keep on with that.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find the nearest tar pit to stick my prehistoric head in for a while.

Okay, where to begin.

First off, an incredible thanks to all of those that either donated or spread the word on my issue linked to in my last journal.

On one hand, I am astonished to find so many people even care enough for one dumb dino like me enough to show your generosity in such a way.

On the other, anxieties keep insisting I shouldn't be begging like this, that I'm not in enough of a plight compared to so, so many others either in my hometown or even on this very site. I'm being paranoid, things aren't THAT bad, I shouldn't beg, that sort of thing. Stuff like this makes it hard to muster into words how grateful I am to you all and that I wish I knew the best way to pay you all back once I am able to. Though I will make sure I DO!

Which leads me to the next part of this, update on the situation.

So far, yes, power outs still happen, though this time it looks to only happen late at night, from around 4-6 pm, leading me to believe these are intentional while they make sure everything remains stable. This plus reading up on the local power company's official Twitter (in Spanish, but here it is anyway in case you're curious) gives me hope that this might get resolved far faster than expected. I might even be able to stream this week after all, even!

I'll keep the old journal up until probably Wednesday (streaming day) since I figure if I go a whole night without issues, it should be ok by then. I'm still going to be closed for new commissions while I catch up with my queue, but at least some of my initial worries about this power out look to be not so bad, so things should hopefully chill by next week.

Ok so this is an...interesting dilemma.

So I'll get to the point. I'm Puerto Rican. I live in Puerto Rico.

On Wednesday, September 21st, the entire island was affected with a mass power out, the worst we've seen in over 30+ years, thanks to one of our main power plants blowing up.

Needless to say, this has messed up my ability to either stream or work on commissions this week. And while I currently have power at the time of writing, long power outs are still a frequent thing, made all the worse by this being hurricane season.

I cannot in good faith tell you guys how long this will last because I do not know. I will try my best to catch up on commissions during days we're lucky to have power. However, this will significantly slow things down for me and make it so streams are far more infrequent, to say the very least.

UNTIL I CAN SAFELY SAY THINGS ARE BACK TO NORMAL, no more commissions will be accepted from here on in, barring those I already negotiated with prior to this writing. As this has pretty much halted my ability to make any form of income for the time being, I'm going to very grudgingly link to places you can donate to me, should you feel so inclined:

First up, in case I forgot to post this here (which is likely), I still stream on Wednesdays and Fridays B U T discounts are on Fridays exclusively for now on. Wednesday streams are for catching up on normal-priced standard work and the occasional doodling for myself, as I hear drawing for yourself is healthy for one's well-being...or something.

Well, the ones on here on Twitter, FurAffinity, DeviantArt and elsewhere who do the commission art thing, but also those that don't may answer as well if you think you can help.

So a thought just hit me just now. On average, how many commissions do you usually try to work on each week? 2 or 3? 10? More?

Mostly I ask since...well, realization just hit me that, even with my current prices, I'm still not sure I'm earning enough money in a month to properly live off of? Like, the most I've been able to save up to date (not counting outside necessities and whatnot) has been about...what, 400 in 4 months? So approx. 100 US dollars a month?

I'm no accountant but that doesn't sound, um, very livable, at least not on my own?

Thus I ask the question, since whatever answers I get will more than likely lead to me doing some significant changes in my current work setup, not so much price-wise (for now), but simply trying to push myself to do more to get more work out beyond what I already do, which can be better, I think.

So, yeah. Thoughts on this?

1 - Named and based off a Scolipede I trained in my Black 2 game, whose name was oh-so-cleverly inspired by Scolipede's Japanese name, ペンドラー(Pendror). Anthro design was based off an adopt I got from crovirus which you can see the original art for here.

2 - She has two kids from a previous marriage, both around 12 years old: Joanna (Karrablast) and Marco (Venipede).

3 - She favors her Bug-type moves over her Poison-type ones both as a sense of pride and pure taste in combat tactics. While she doesn't fight competitively, she did take a few self-defense courses at one point which she still practices on occasion along with actual soccer playing. And yes, she knows Toxic and Venoshock and will not hesitate to use it on anyone that attacks her or her children.

4 -Her native language is Brazilian-style (Poke-Brazilian?) Portuguese, though is fluent in English as well. She's recently started learning Japanese to try to impress Gai, though she still has a long way to go before that happens.

5 - Despite her very active lifestyle as a soccer coach, she's a lover for fried things and sweets. It's probably one of the reasons she's a bit on the large (well, wide) side even for a Scolipede, even when she only eats those on occasion while still sticking to a more healthier diet half the time. She's fairly happy with her body overall, though there are times she wonders if her tail-horns are too big...

6 - One of her side hobbies is learning web design. She single-handedly set up her soccer team's official website and also runs a small personal blog which she uses primarily to share her stories as a soccer coach.

7 - She's something of a mediocre cook, to the point that the kids themselves have picked up on the art so that the family can eat something actually not-boring every now and then. Marco in particular aspires to go to a culinary academy when he's older, though good luck getting him to admit it out loud, as the idea embarrasses him. Even mom doesn't know, though she has a hunch, what with his fondness for looking up cooking shows online and his want for his own knife set..

8 - She's never traveled beyond Unova before, though is fascinated with the idea of flying around the world. Kalos in particular excites her, as she has a very romanticized view of it being a place of beauty and art. Her favorite souvenir from there? Gai's Mega Stone, which his nephews got for him. Let's put it this way: she has developed a habit of putting some money aside for special occasions, of which one of the investments is for a new shirt for Gai...so he can rip out of them whenever he transforms.

How, you ask? Well the rules are simple:

When you throw in for a slot tomorrow, email me a number between 1-10

The numbers represent a jellybean type/color/flavor. I'll have a chart available during the stream, though just picking a random one is also cool.

If the jellybean I eat is one with a not-at-all-pleasant flavor (Stinky Sock, Booger, Rotten egg, Skunk Spray, etc.), you win and get your character of choice gets drawn, no limits as to what you can pick.

HOWEVER, if the jellybean I eat is one of the decent ones (Tutti-Fruity, Buttered Popcorn, Peach, Juicy Pear, etc.), I win and I instead pick a character to get drawn, again with no limits as to what gets picked!

Either way, decent art will get made :V

These will all be B/W 500x500 icon-style pics (like the one linked to here). It's just $10 USD to throw in, so it's still a discount commission Friday to boot!

So some of you might have missed this last Friday when I streamed and discussed this over with a few of you on-air, so lemme keep the rest of you up to date on thing.

Now the semi-bad news is I am tweaking my prices for the discounted stream sketches, mostly a price-raise for the full-body pics.

That said, there is good news, for half the reason for the price raise is to give way to a future addition to the discount commission lineup -- random color prompt portraits!

Aka I'm reviving the Palette Challenge pics from long ago, only this time I'll be using an online color palette generator to pick my choices and whatever the results are. I'll see about adding more info regarding that come stream time.

Also speaking of stream, I DO have a April 1st-only stream offer of a rather...peculiar nature.

It involves jelly beans. That is all.

Again, more info on that as I get to working on it.

Until then, I'm only a little behind on couple larger commissions, but still getting there, so look forward to that, k? K.

Is there any program/app/extension/etc for not just downloading galleries, but uploading them back up with their original artist's comments (and maybe date/faves, though that's stretching it) as well?

For those that haven't noticed yet (and admittedly I've been pretty silent about this) but I'm still in the process of moving my old  ceegee art over to this one, though there have been a few snags along the way:

-Some art contains outdated character information I feel weird re-sharing, especially if it involves pairings that no longer are together for whatever reason.

-Some commissions belong to people who moved accounts, left FA altogether, no longer wishes to be affiliated with the character or, in some rarer cases, art made for people I have a not so pleasant history with.

-Some art is just bad even from a nostalgic standpoint.

Now to clarify: I'm not deleting any pics forever, as they're all saved in my end (and I don't doubt others have some saved, too). I'm simply not re-uploading them on this account unless asked to.

For the time being what I'm doing is uploading a handful of CeeGee art over every time I upload a new Pokemon-themed pic.

Somewhat similarly, if unrelated, I'm also slowly starting to post some of my older Undertale art every Monday both here and on DeviantArt. Of course, if you ever want to see my newest UT-themed art, your best best is to peek at my Undertale-themed Twitter (beware, I don't cover for spoilers, I retweet stuff there often and I'm known to be exceptionally idiotic over there).

Aaaand even though I have this in my Featured journal, I'm temporarily closing standard commissions until I catch up with my current batch, which were unfortunate to be worked on in a couple weeks that were kind of bad for me. I'll hopefully be able to catch up on 'em real soon, though! Obviously, stream stuff is unaffected by this since I only specifically work on those on Wednesday and Friday nights, whereas standards are worked on the rest of the week except Sundays.

Hopefully I'll have at least one of my standards finished before Pokemon's anniversary this Saturday (27th) as I'm hoping to draw out something to honor it, but that'll only happen if I actually catch up, so wish me luck!

So I've a couple ideas on what to do for that day (the 27th, in case you ask), some including art for myself...but I'm wondering, anything you guys would like me to tackle (get it? Tackle?) that involves your characters? Or...limited edition art, as it were?

Before I do the usual, couple of things I need to keep you guys on the up and up in.

Last Friday while streaming, the power went out in my neighborhood block, reasons uncertain (It DOES NOT SNOW in Puerto Rico, so it's not that). It came back after a couple hours, but was far too late (and I was far too tired) to resume the stream anyway.

Figured with the announcement that I'm open to commissions again I'd update this as well. Well, new year come with a few changes here and there, so let's get to 'em.

For those new to my streams, every Wednesday and Friday from around 9:00 PM AST and onwards, I open up to do on-the-spot art streams where people can ask for ink-style drawings (sample) of their character of choice. A tip jar will also available if you just feel like being generous during that time that I amuse you all with my sultry voice* and my odd choice in music and/or videos.

WEDNESDAY is for Original Characters, be they yours, mine or someone else's.

FRIDAY is for fanart of any kind, be it fan-characters from your favorite media to characters from said media as well.

During THESE STREAMS, WHILE YOU ARE IN THE STREAM PROPER and FOR THE DURATION OF THAT STREAM, you may ask for a bust shot ($12) or an ink drawing ($18), with any additions like complex props/details and one extra character being $10 each. Any drawing not finished during the stream will be worked on in the nest appropriate stream (Wed. drawings on Wednesday, Fri. drawings on Friday), so keep that in mind before you throw in. I'm willing to color any drawings done during stream, though they'll be worked on during non-stream days and you'll have to email me to discuss further details, fees and whatnot.

Note that while I'm fine drawing nudes, I'll not do out and out sexual situations nor will I Rule 34 any media characters.

I do not do day-early holds anymore. If it is Wednesday or Friday and you want in, email me at kompycommish at gmail dot com for a spot. You may throw in even if circumstances do not allow you to show up in the stream that day but please do not make this a habit, I can only be so generous.
