General | Posted a week agoYou know what? I do miss when I had time and a chance to chat with others more. Especially on PMs or IMs. I miss when I could talk to friends and had time to do so.
I feel like it's my fault because I didn't make time to do so and I want to make up for it...
But on the other hand, I do feel really guilty for not keeping up... I just don't know how others would feel about me not speaking with them for a long time and I just contact them out of the blue... which makes me isolate myself even more...
I'm a mess... Lol
I dunno what to do. Lol
I always wait for others to initiate and don't start myself so... yeah... that's a problem I want to fix...
Anyway I'm still available on Telegram and Discord under the same username as here. Just identify yourselves if you're gonna contact me.

The only things I want for Xmas is either money or getting a good job so I can get money~
I'm not really too excited this year (Nor was I excited that much for the last ones) but I won't put anybody else down for celebrating. x3

General | Posted a month agoFirst of all, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who are appreciating the Lucius pics I've been posting! You're all awesome! ^^
Second, I don't wanna do this but I gotta rest my hand from drawing at least for a few days. I've been starting to get those RSI cramps in your wrist, arm and hand. Anybody who's an artist, a writer or whoever works with their hand(s) knows this pain very well. It's NOT pleasant at all!
As much as I want to keep this drive of inspiration and creation up, I have to remember that I have to take breaks from time to time. Even with doing stretches, you have to take breaks. I really don't wanna stop because it's been a very long while that I've had this much fun making art again without the pressure or time sink hook of an algorithmic site. To make art without caring if it'll be perfect and to just have fun. And the surge of serotonin and dopamine from finishing a picture that you've been up for hours working on is just... 😚👌✨
I was also considering going back on BlueSky for next week but I will delay it until like December or probably next year some time.
It depends on how I'm feeling.
Still, I thank you all for the support! ^^

LUCIUS LUPUS QUESTION...

Second, I'd like to ask...
If you're a fan of Lucius Lupus, what is it that you like about him so much? Is it his character? His appearance? Anything? Leave it down below in the comments!
I'm just asking since I want to do more with him. I have a huge itch to make more art with him.

I'm giving Dee/Dough-Mutt a break to focus on my other characters, Loosh included.

It just feels a little more homely, you know?
I feel like the algorithmic social media sites have really spoiled us with making us addicted to them, making us chase numbers and make us feel like we're inadequate compared to others. I mean it has its uses but over the years, they've just gotten corrupted by corporate greed and such.
Even with sites like BlueSky (in which the only algorithm is the Discovery tab) with their customizable system can be overwhelming. As much as I like it, even I need to take breaks from time to time... which is what I'm currently on until near the end of the month.
I needed to come back to my roots and just post more back here. I'm not as pressured to post as I am on BlueSky plus I don't have to bother people with my reposts and such.
We need more ART sites like this to post on again.
It's not perfect but at least it feels honest. Lol

I will probably move my 24 Hour Comic into the Scraps later on since I plan on making a remake of it with an expanded and improved story.
The 24 Hour Comic was challenging but fun. It was difficult since I was struggling with my perfectionism but it didn't have to be perfect... just finished. Not only did I do that but I managed to revamp an old OC of mine.
I'm gonna do more traditional works... gonna use my tools and finish up my sketch books. I'll do digital pieces too.

Gonna Go Analog For a While...

I've been in a mood for traditional lately.
I always felt like I was stronger with traditional than digital.
The problem with that is finding the right time to do that.
And the preparation as well... but I will do it. ^^
I'll start with my pencils then I'll probably try out inking.

To think I grew to love this place when I almost destroyed it by accident... well become a mere nuisance by accident... ^^;
STORY TIME!!
So 18 years ago at the age of 17, I was under another account name at the time... Posting my first submission on the site but something went wrong and the submission duplicated itself a lot... turns out, I left something on my keyboard by accident over the [ENTER] key which made more than three pages of duplicate submissions...
(At the time, I wasn't aware of what caused the issue as I thought something was wrong with my computer at the time. I was able to find out what the problem was because the same issue happened a couple of days afterwards when I noticed I left a stack of printer paper on my keyboard by accident... again. But thankfully it wasn't as bad as the first time. )
Cue many others getting angry at me and mistaken me for a spammer or a troll. It didn't help that at that time, submission deletion was disabled at that time for maintenance...
Thank goodness I got that mess cleared up and the account was banned and I started fresh under this name here. And from there it was smooth sailing...

Well mostly... that year after I turned 18 I had made another issue but this time it was all my fault...
STORY TIME 2!!
There's an artist that some may know by the name of Tomcat. He was my first art mentor. We got along pretty well due to our common interest in gorillas. He was also Alpha's first fan and he wanted to include Alpha in his comic series that he had out at the time. At first I was excited but I was conflicted at the time because I was still figuring out my sexuality at the time and was afraid of being found out by family and the like about it. So I negotiated with Tomcat to make Alpha's inclusion a "What if" type of thing that decayed into Alpha's removal from the comic and created a sore spot for both of us for a bit... yeah. Pardon my French, Past!Konana is a dumbass! :P
But I eventually talked to him, admitted my wrongdoing and made amends with Tomcat. We're still cool now. I just wish he would get a BlueSky account or another IM account so I can chat with him again! Lol
So 2007 was a pretty rough year for me as I was getting used to being online and talking to other people. Not to mention the mishaps along the way but, you live and you learn.
Plus I've grown to be a lot different than how I was 18 years ago! Lol
I hope I can make my next 18 even better...
If I'll still be here at that time or this site will still be here at that time... who knows?
All I can do is just focus on what I can do now~

Catching up and Stuff

I mean ever since I came back as Konana, I have never been so happy before...
It feels so good to not constantly worrying about switching or being seen as "cringe".
I'm getting old and I'm too old to care for what others may think of me being cringe or whatever (That being said, if I'm being or doing wrong, don't hesitate to call me out on it!)
I'm also taking the time catching up with others... It's a lot but I can manage.
I think this combined with years of wisdom I've curated and collected over the years really helped to flesh me out
I'm still figuring things out but I'm not as lost as I was in my late teens and twenties ^^

Okay so I was wrong and news...
General | Posted 2 years agoI guess I'm staying over here after all...
I honestly thought that I had to stop being Konanarillah to get rid of that part of me... you know... "Kill the part that cringes"... But all I had to do was to change from past behaviors.
Also the bad things that were happening to me didn't have anything to do with the account and we're just unfortunate coincidences.
Plus as much as I love Dough-Mutt, he isn't as a strong enough character to carry an identity on its own, plus I had Konana first and I feel like I didn't give him enough development through these years. I mean I did complete a comic last year and it's still one of my proudest achievements I've ever made as an artist online. So if I can do that, I can do anything! Lol
I'm just gonna keep Super-Dough-Mutt as a backup instead.
I know many are frustrated by the constant account switching and I don't blame you on how you feel about it. But for real this time... I'm sticking to this and only using Super-Dough-Mutt as a backup account just in case if anything goes wrong.

I honestly thought that I had to stop being Konanarillah to get rid of that part of me... you know... "Kill the part that cringes"... But all I had to do was to change from past behaviors.
Also the bad things that were happening to me didn't have anything to do with the account and we're just unfortunate coincidences.
Plus as much as I love Dough-Mutt, he isn't as a strong enough character to carry an identity on its own, plus I had Konana first and I feel like I didn't give him enough development through these years. I mean I did complete a comic last year and it's still one of my proudest achievements I've ever made as an artist online. So if I can do that, I can do anything! Lol
I'm just gonna keep Super-Dough-Mutt as a backup instead.
I know many are frustrated by the constant account switching and I don't blame you on how you feel about it. But for real this time... I'm sticking to this and only using Super-Dough-Mutt as a backup account just in case if anything goes wrong.
