Incoming Flood
Posted 14 years agoI'm giving a fair heads up here.
I'm getting ready to update my FA page. All of the pictures and good times that I have neglected in recent, and not so recent, months are going to suddenly appear up on my page.
I apologize to my friends for neglecting this page so thoroughly. I've been all over the place. Life has been a wonderful roller coaster ride, and I have a little bit of free time right now to get this all taken care of. I'm in the process of getting caught up in a lot of places, and I plan to stay caught up in the future.
Anyway, on to the photo uploads!

FCN
Posted 14 years agoAlright, so it's only a couple of days until I head up north for the good times that is FCN!
I have pretty much everything packed at this point, and I just need to get new locks for my fursuit box before I am underway. I'm going to be heading out and doing that here shortly actually.
Something directly related to my FCN attendance: I will be bringing several pairs of oversized glasses which are absolutely perfect for fursuits. I have a couple of aviators, some shutter shades, and the awesome $$ shades to boot. It's very limited supply, so you'll have to hit me up quick if you want them. They're going to be $5 a piece, so super affordable here.
They fit great on my fursuit head, and I don't see any problems with them fitting on anybody elses.
Gotta track me down at the con for a pair, because they are very limited. Spread the word, these things are totally worth $5.

1. Blue eyes. Sorry, this one is completely out of your control, but I have ALWAYS loved perfect blue eyes.
2. Being able to make your own decisions. Somebody that can simple stand up and say "This is where I've been, this is where I'm going, and this is how I'm getting there" does wonders for me. Self confidence is sexy.
3. Teasing. People that really know that side of me can vouch that I am a terrible tease, and I absolutely love it. It's even better when it's going back and forth. It's exciting, exhilerating, and fun. Get a person fired up in a hurry.
Almost done here, and I'll be finished. Just a couple more days guys, hang in there with me. XD

1. Having absolutely nothing to say beyond how bad things are going. Seriously? If that's the only thing that you can say about your life, get out and change it. I'm not going to sit here and give you my life, and my time, if you are only going to cry on me.
2. EXPECTING me to crawl into bed with you the first time we meet. I have met several people that have expected me to jump up and down at the chance to sleep with them. Not happenin'. Period. The people I choose to spend my nights with are people that are important to me, people that I care a great deal about, and people that I hope to have something more come from. It's important to me, and don't even try to belittle that.
3. A complete lack of respect for yourself. You can have fun, and you can be yourself, but that doesn't mean you can't have respect for who you are. If you don't respect yourself, you can't give it to others, and you'll never get it from anybody you meet.
4. Excessive makeup. I have never been attracted to people that pile on the makeup. It disgusts me. I want to see your face. I want to see who you are. If you really think the only way you can be attractive is to cover everything in pounds of make up, see number 3.
Lots of turn that could have gone on here, but I tried to pick some of the bigger ones. So much total bullshit surrounding people anymore, it's beyond frustrating.

Day Ten: One confession
1. My mom - So much goes out to her. She was missing from a lot of my early life, but she has been there for me more than once since I moved out on my own. She has helped me through a lot of tough times, and I don't know where I would be without her.
2. My little brother - This little son of a bitch means the world to me, in case you haven't been able to tell. It's really amazing how close we are, especially when you consider the amount of distance between us. Thousands of miles away, and he still manages to make a huge impact on my life. I'd drop everything if he needed me to.
3.
bismarck - This guy has been a huge part of my life in the last couple of years. One of the first furries I met, and one of the first people to really give me a chance after I turned over who I was. I met him so soon after leaving Steak n Shake, that I didn't know what to expect from myself. Don't ever think you're out of my life, no matter what seems to be happening.
4.
suna - A random act of kindness brought me to your attention, and a completely random meeting really brought you into my life. You're one of those amazing people that touch every person that you meet in a different way. You touch my life, what it means to live, what it is to experience and see so many different things. The very basics of who we are....and it can all be expressed in front of the FCN elevator. :3
5.
jaslyn - The purple fluff that makes life sparkle, that's this person right here. We've leaned on each other mutliple times, and everything has just kinda grown from there. You're one of the kindest, most true to yourself, people I may ever know. You have always been willing to listen, and you're not afraid to talk. That's real friends.
Limiting this to just five people was damn near impossible. There were so many people that needed to be in this list, because they have all touched my life in some way. There are people that will always be a part of my life, and I just can't get them all into this list. All I can say is thank you for being a part of my life, for shaping who I am today, and for helping me to grow.

1. I wish I hadn't done what was right back in high school. My brother almost ended up branded a felon because of it. I hate myself for it frequently.
2. I wish I hadn't listened to my dad so much growing up. I didn't know my mom growing up because I listened to, and believed, every lie he told me.
3. I wish I hadn't gone to my mom's the weekend my grandmother died. I spent so much time with my grandmother, I wanted to be there when she finally passed. I missed it.
4. I wish I had spent less time fighting with my brother, and more time fighting beside him. I don't get to see him much anymore. The military pretty much keeps us apart, and I can't ever guarantee time off when he gets his leave. I saw him once this year.
5. I wish I had spent less time dicking around in shop class. I have some wonderful things to show for it, but they can't really live up to what I want, or what I'm using them for now.
6. I sometimes wish I had never gone to KU. It was wasted time, and wasted money. I could have gone somewhere else, gotten the same degree, and spent less money. I could have put the extra time to something worthwhile instead of dealing with the terrible professors. Ridiculous bullshit is what it was.
This one was actually really hard. There are few other things that I truly regret doing, because they were good experiences. I grew from them, and even if they turned out poorly in the end, I will never forget the way they changed who I am.

1. Family. I don't have a lot of family around here, and it makes it very hard sometimes.
2. My career. I'm done with school, and I now have opportunities popping up all around me. Taking one path means that I have to sacrifice a LOT, that the other path would give me. I'm at a point where I don't know what decisions to make.
3. Moving. A lot has happened in this town, and not all of it ended well. There are plenty of reasons for me to want to get out of here, but there are just as many that make me stay. I'm really torn on what I want/need to do with that right now.
4. Am I approaching this in all the wrong ways. You meet people that you find are completely amazing, and you try to get closer to them. I worry that I sometimes drive them away, as much as I get closer to them. It would be nice to be able to read minds sometimes.
5. My future has so many things up in the air right now, and I have no idea what to do about any of it. One decision can make so much for me, and at the same time break it all apart. I'm afraid of making a decision, and afraid of being stuck because I don't.
6. There are very few people in my life that I can call real friends, and I've been seeing that a lot this year. There aren't a lot of people, around here anyway, that I can really trust with anything. They're fun, and they're great people, but they aren't really friends.
7. That one pretty face that couldn't go away even if I wanted to. The face that makes me smile, and gets that song stuck in my head...EVERY TIME. *sings* I'm burnin, I'm burning, I'm burnin for you.

1. Listen to me. If we're talking, listen. Even if it's all total nonsense, and fun, listen to what I'm saying. Don't play off everything as if it's nothing, because every minute is important to me.
2. Talk to me. Conversation requires two people to talk and listen. I can only do so much, and it gets very frustrating when the conversation only moves when I say something. Be silly, be ridiculous, be yourself, but just talk to me.
3. Enjoy the little things in life. It's not about big romantic dinners, or expensive trips. It's about the little hello, the random text, and the perfect smile that exists only for you. Take the time to enjoy it all.
4. Be willing to try some of the things I love in my life. You don't have to share my passion, but be willing to try it once. You might actually be surprised at the pleasures you find in life.
5. Know when to be silly. I like to have fun, and you can find ways to do it almost everywhere you go, but don't be stupid about it. There are some places where silly isn't going to work. Don't make me ashamed to be seen with you.
6. Don't lie to me.
7. See who I am, and accept every part of me. I'm not perfect, and I don't want to be. I understand compromise, and growth comes from change, but don't try to change who I am at the core. Everything about me comes from that. Don't try to supress me, or prevent parts of me from showing, it won't work. I love who I am, and want somebody that can do the same.
8. Be a little geeky, about anything. If it's a passion, show it. Be a geek, have fun, and just let it go. It's often some of the cutest, and most enjoyable, moments of my day.

1. I get restless very easily. I don't do well sitting in one place for long periods of time, and have a tendency to simply wander off and do ANYTHING when I'm stuck in one place.
2. I love to read. I have always loved to read, and I simply can't get enough books in my library. I've been in a pretty major reading slump recently, because life is keeping me busy, but that has killed my love for it. One of the few things that my restlessness doesn't affect.
3. I can be very easily distracted, usually by my own thoughts. It makes it hard to get things done sometimes. A single random thought can have me derailed for hours.
4. I love to cook. I don't have a very wide range of things that actually taste good, but I love throwing stuff together. It's usually edible, at the very least, but the things I know, I know very well. I blame this on working in restaurants for 8 years. >.>
5. I don't eat a lot of sweets or candies. I absolutely love them, I just don't keep them around. They are pretty much my one weakness, and I can eat junk food until it makes me sick. I have on more than one occasion. XD
6. I absolutely love to be outside. Even if I'm not doing anything, I want to be outside. I grew up in a small town where the outdoors were wide open, and free for you to roam, and I did that a good part of the time.
7. I'm a very avid gamer, but I try to keep it to a minimum. I have a tendency to be obsessive with the games that I play and will dump hours upon hours of time into them without realizing it.
8. The major part of my movie collection is animated, and I'm still working on getting my hands on some of the more elusive titles from my childhood. Those were the days, and I don't want to leave it all behind. :3
9. I count....everything. I've always done it, and I do it without thinking about it. I count my steps when I'm walking or running. I count the number of birds that are sitting on a telephone line. I count the number of coins that are sitting on my coffee table....6, 2 quarters, 3 dimes, and a penny. I just count. Seems like a normal part of me at this point.

This was kinda tough, but there you go. 9 things about the wolf known as Konner.
Day One: Ten Day MEME
Posted 15 years agoDay One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession
1. You've been the person I've needed to have near me more than once, and especially in the last few months. Somebody to listen is hard to find, and when you find one it's a great thing. I still feel like I burdened you for that time, even if you tell me otherwise
2. You are seriously one of the most awesome people ever. Nights spent in front of the elevator will need to be relived in the future. Though the amount of awesome that exists in one place during those times could possibly equate to the world dividing by zero, so we'll have to take it easy XD
3. You have been a voice of guidance to me several times now, and I can't thank you enough for it. It's hard to believe that our friendship started in a chatroom, and has grown to what it is now. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
4. I'm glad that everything that happened, as much of a mess as it was, didn't completely destroy our friendship. We had a really great thing before, and I'm very glad that it still exists.
5. I completely regret the things that I did to you. I wish that I could bring myself to tell you in person, but I have become too much of a coward in this one. You could have been one of my great friends, but I wasn't listening to myself. I let other voices convince me that you needed to be out of my life, and I'm sorry. It was a mistake, and I wish I could take it back.
6. You are an all around awesome person, and if you were closer I know things would be different. The distance isn't too terrible, what's a single state between us? I would like the opportunities to get to know you better, and see what the future might have in store.:3
7. There are few people in the world that I could be more happy, and proud to know. Despite everything that happened in your life, even if you caused some of it, you have turned into a wonderful person. I could never be more proud to call you family, to call you my brother, and I will stand beside you through anything that might possibly come your way. I love you more than I could ever actually tell you.
8. You were probably one of the strongest influences in my life growing up, even if you weren't around for a good part of my younger life. I will never blame you for that, there were other people influencing everything about my life then. You are the free spirit that let me see that it's okay to be different from the rest of the family. That it's okay to think for yourself. I love you so much.
9. You need to stop being so elusive! I have been trying to get in touch with you for the last couple of months, and I must have the worst possible timing in the world. We were supposed to go and do some shooting this summer, but it got old cold now. :( Next year man, I'm not letting you get away from that one.
10. I feel terrible that I didn't show up when you called last night. I really didn't know what to do. I've tried to justify it to myself, but it still doesn't feel right. It was simply the wrong choice. I'm sorry.
I managed to cover people from all over the place, and there are of course others. More days coming in the near future. XD

Posted 15 years agoThere are a lot of people mourning the loss of the amazingly talented Satoshi Kon, and I'm in that group as well. I was a huge fan of his work before I realized, and some great people helped that love to grow. It struck hard when I heard that he had died.
I came across this and feel that it should be shared for all of the Satoshi Kon fans that are here on this site:

FUCK YEAH YOU CRAZY FURRY!!!
Posted 15 years agoThat was probably the best part of my Friday Lawrence adventures.
The annual Busker Festival is in town right now, and it's essential a mess of street performers lining the downtown area for the entire weekend. Naturally, there's no way that I am going to miss this opportunity to go out and just be ridiculous and have fun. So I joined in the festivities.
It was a short outing overall, only 1 hour, but the amount of fun that was had in that one hour is simply amazing.
I didn't go alone of course.
roguered1 went along with me and we had a grand time of it. He was taking pictures, and videos, for me and most of them came out simply amazing.
I kinda just wandered the streets at first, with my giant tennis ball, but it didn't take long to get the area's attention. Even with all of the other performers, I was able to draw attention, and I held the kids attention a lot better than a lot of the performers there.
Now, you can't make everybody laugh and smile, and I did in fact make two small children cry, but I think that it was a pretty good average overall. The parents easily had as much fun as the kids did.
On the way back to the car, we decided to cross the street and terrorize..er...entertain the other side of the blocks. As we're crossing to the other side, the driver of one of the cars that stopped leans out and yells "FUCK YEAH YOU CRAZY FURRY!" and gives a couple of quick honks. Of course there was a short performance of gratitude for this individual, but we continued on down the line.
Me managed to get back to the car right as the rain started. For a change my luck held out and I didn't end up completely soaked by the elements.
A few more people would have made the entire thing much more fun, but there were only so many people that could go. Most of them were busy with work or otherwise occupied, but we made the best of it.

Back in town - edited
Posted 15 years agoI'm finally back from Arkansas, and I have to say that it was a great time. 8 people camping, canoeing, and just having fun in any way possible.
It was a long trip, and I managed to keep from getting burnt to a total crisp. It was a totally wonderful time. I'm in the process of getting everything cleaned up and the put back together.
Totally feels good to be home. Camping is great, but I missed home.
HOLY BALLS LONG VERSION!!!! http://konnerwolf.livejournal.com/2256.html

Going out of town
Posted 15 years agoThat's right fuzzballs, I'm heading out of town for the weekend. Leaving bright and early tomorrow for a nice drive.
Sadly, I'm not heading to iFC like a lot of people I know this weekend. Instead I'm heading down to Arkansas with a few friends of mine. We're going to go camping down on the Buffalo River. There will be canoeing, drinking, fires, drinking, smores, drinking, and possibly some sleeping. Did I mention drinking? XD
If you can't tell, I'm totally excited about it. I've never been to Arkansas before, and I definitely don't get enough camping trips in a year. This is going to be a great road trip, and a fantastic weekend.
On another note, I've been considering firing up my LJ again. It's been a nice place for private writings for the last few months, but I haven't been throwing anything up that other people can read. I've trimmed down most of the useless community stuff that I don't really care about, and I'm thinking of starting it for real next week some time. What better way to get back in the swing then a trip out of state right? Better be plenty to write about!
Anyway. I need to get stuff packed up, find some booze, and hit the ATM before I crash tonight. I can't begin to describe the excitement here.

Oh how the nights can be interesting
Posted 15 years agoI wasn't online much last night, simply because I didn't have any power in my place. Most of the block was without power all night. Not really a big deal, though I did havee to hunt down a flashlight. My concern was that I had just gone to the grocery store. I really didn't want all of my food to go bad on me. :(
I actually spent a good part of the night with one of the guys I went to high school with. We haven't really talked or done much in about 3 years. We grew apart really quick after high school, and that's just been the way it is. It was actually a really good time. Maybe it was because of the one-on-one time, or maybe things have changed in the last couple of years, but we just chilled and talked and surfed around the internet.
He's one of the very few people that know I'm a furry, that aren't furries themselves. We spent time talking about conventions, and how I got into the fandom, why it's fun, what I do, and I have a handler/spotter pretty much any time I need one now. Which is many kinds of awesome.
We talked about his study abroad stuff, and got to talking about the art that he's worked on and done recently. We talked about how our little home town really kept some things from ever happening in our lives. I couldn't really get into the fandom the way I wanted to because of it, and he talked about really wanting to get into Larping back in the day.
We ended up browsing around FA, looking at a lot of artists. There was the good, the bad, and the tentacled that will always be FA so I didn't really bother hiding any of it. What's the point right?
Anyway. Good times were had, even if my house didn't have power at my place. Whether or not I we start hanging out regularly again is yet to be seen, but we'll see what happens

MOVIES!
Posted 15 years agoToday was a pretty awesome day.
Started off nice and slow, got some laundry finished and managed to get a shopping list started. It's massive :(
Had an awesome sushi lunch with a friend of mine, and we just kinda wandered around the downtown area after that. Ended up spending 4 hours doing pretty much nothing, and I really needed it :3
Went back to my place and we just kinda chilled for a couple hours, waiting for another guy to get off of work. We all grabbed Taco Bell after that, and headed to the movies.
And that brings me to the title of the journal. We went and saw Despicable Me, and I have to say that it was a great movie. It's cute, it's funny, and it's something that anybody can really sit down and enjoy.
Don't count it out just because it's PG, seriously. We were all laughing, and so were the other people in the theater, through a good portion of it. It's got humor that ranges from childish and absurd, to adult like and subtle. It's just a great work all the way around.
Anyway, I'm going to take something for the 3D glasses headache, and crawl into be now.
