If its an absolute necessity for you, you may also send me a note via the messaging system here. I'll keep an eye out! Please don't comment here though, it kind of confuses things.
I'll be leaving things open for a bit, but I'm open for the same set up as before. 4 smaller pieces (icons, single character images etc) and 4 larger ones (ref sheets, scenes etc.)

Apologies for the Abundance of Uploads
Posted 5 years agoApologies for the overabundance of uploads but I figured I'd pick a few things I'd never got around to posting. There are more things still not uploaded that I may get around to tossing up there.
Most of my personal stuff has been pretty sketchy, pixely things, unlike my usual polished style. That's mostly going to be going to my scraps and I'll toss some more up there later. But let me know if its anything anyones actually interested in seeing.
And for my last journal, thanks guys for all the book recs. I'm building a list now that I plan to go through in my downtime. I'm just happy to like reading for fun again.

Posted 5 years agoHey guys, I'm not dead I just havent been uploading lol. It's been a busy year and a half what with the Troubles. I'll maybe start uploading some of the stuff I've been drawing but the approach I've taken to most of my art lately is kind of different so I'm not sure if it will be as appreciated. I guess I'll see what kind of response one or two pieces get and judge from there.
But more importantly, ive been reading a ton. You guys should recommend me some more books to read. Sci fi, fantasy stuff. Bonus points for gay content mixed in. Very little gay stories that arent just romance period huh? I'm currently reading the Otherside Picnic series and thats been fun.

An Update on My Slow Art Status
Posted 7 years agoHowdy, everyone! Hopefully you guys are having a good time of it, even though the weather in the US right now at least, is absolutely brutal.
But I felt giving a life update is long overdue, I tend to be bad at keeping you guys informed on the behind the scenes here. My illustration has been really slowed down lately as I've got a new job I'm getting accustomed to, as well as dealing with figuring out the stressful situation of my living accommodations (my roommates in the process of moving out and I'm in the process of trying to find a new place and a new roommate, however its going pretty slowly and uncertainly at the moment). This has left me with less time to work on commissions than I'm accustomed to, since before illustration was my only source of income for a little under a year, and therefore i was drawing 24/7.
I overestimated how quickly i could catch up with the backlog, which is why I'm not opening commissions /this/ month unless i can make a pretty sizable dent in the work load I've already got. This is not to excuse my slowness, only to explain it.
So my plan is to continue working on everything as much as possible, same as before, and hopefully to get through a good 1/3rd of the queue that exists in the next few weeks at the very least, but just know, I haven't just up and abandoned anyone or stopped working, I'm just going at a slower pace than I anticipated.
Thank you all for your immense patience thus far! Hopefully, you'll all enjoy the work I end up producing in the end.

I'll have at least a few I can post in a couple days hopefully or maybe I'll do something just for me to let you guys know I'm alive.

Posted 7 years agocervinkstudios@gmail.comI will draw pretty much any species,humans included, so if you have any concerns about if I'll do something more 'obscure' (ie. dinosaurs, birds, lizards, strange imaginary creatures) rest assured that in most cases I have no problem tackling it. The only real exception to that are designs one could say are exceedingly complex. It makes it a lot harder to draw and even more difficult to come up with a good composition.
When sending your inquiries, via e-mail, please include any references you have for the characters involved, and if relevant, some description of character personality, the setting, background or no, etc. Trust me, more detailed descriptions of what you're interested in are better than less.
I can also work with a verbal description if it's a character who doesn't have any existing art. If your visual references however have a wide number of discrepancies in color or pattern, please let me know which is the most accurate or send only the one.
Be aware, my turnaround time is not particularly quick. I spend a lot of time per piece, even with the small ones, so my turnarounds vary between a week and a month, sometimes more. If you have something more time sensitive, let me know beforehand, and I will tweak the queue to accommodate the deadline.

Commissions Open Soon, And An Important Note!
Posted 8 years agoI will be opening up for this months round likely tommorow or the day after! I've still got a bit more than usual from the last month to finish up, but at the very least, sketches have been finished for most of those, and they shouldn't be too much longer til completion.
There will be another change in price soon! Not this month, but likely the month following. I set the previous prices around the end of my college year before this became my sole job. Now my needs have changed, artistic method has been altered, and I would like to think the quality of work I produce is higher than it was two years ago. However, with the current set up, I'm getting a lot more commissions, but I do end up doing a lot more for a lot less, which leads to work delays despite the fact that I'm essentially drawing every single day of every single week, morning to night.
I'm very thankful of the enormous increase of interest I've had lately! If not in commissions than just in my work in general. So hopefully with the implemented changes, (not this month, but the next) I can produce even higher quality work rather than a higher quantity. The changes have not been fully decided, and will likely not be superbly significant. But I did feel it would be good to give a warning beforehand.
As a side note, somewhat unrelated. I am open to critique on my body of work if anyone has it. In general or just by piece. I'm always looking to improve, and an outsiders view is nice.

If I don't get a lot of response I'll make an image post later, but I'm open for all types. Likely though, I'll only take on a handful of projects but don't let that scare you off.
