Letraset FLEXMARKERS?
Posted 13 years agoHas anyone here used Letraset Flexmarkers? Are they any good? This is the product I mean:
http://www.flexmarker.info/FlexMark.....rker_Home.html
(ergo, not the Letraset Promarker, or the Letraset Tria. You will make me SUPER SAD if you reply to this going OH HAY I HAVE USED THE PROMARKER/TRIA)
If you have used them - what did you think of the quality? Decent? Compared to Copic or Prisma? Thoughts?
They look pretty interesting to me, so I'm curious what people have to say!

Posted 14 years agoJust a quick note to the contributers to the auction for Cookie.

Huge THANK YOU, and note to auction contributers!
Posted 14 years agoFirst of all I have to say a huge thanks to everyone who took an interest in supporting Cookie's fundraiser auction. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderful and generous this fandom can be. To quote my tweet from earlier..."You guys have hearts so big I don't know why your ribcages haven't burst in a bloody boney mess! <3"
I have all the contributers details down so far. I am aware I might have missed a few people when responding to acknowledge and thank you - the volume of notes/emails I've had is very high - but if I did, please don't take it personally! It's really appreciated and I know that this will make a huge difference for Cookie.
At the moment it looks like the best idea is to offer 2 or 3 different auctions each with a set of contributions. Starting these around Monday, when people are getting back from FC, is the plan for now.
I will send out an email/note (determined by the preference you gave me) to all the participants with a list of the contributions before the auction(s) go live, so you can check that the information is correct.
Finally if you have any questions, suggestions or whatever about the auction, please feel free to contact me.
- Sarah / Korrok

ARTISTS NEEDED: Multi-artist Cancer Fund Auction (ENDED)
Posted 14 years agoHi everyone! The auctions are now OVER:

If you are interested in donating to the cause, you can do so directly to cookiesama@gmail.com.
Hi guys,
I've contacted a few people directly already, but I'd now like to ask the artists I know as a group.
This is a propsal for a multi-artist auction on behalf of Belgian fur
rattie-cookie.Cookie was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer last month, and so far has had to pay over 700 euros ($895) in tests and treatment - even with health insurance. She's now started a 16 week chemotherapy treatment, after which they will operate and remove her tumor, and the medical costs will run into hundreds more. With no family to help out, and the risk of losing her job as the chemotherapy progresses, at this point Cookie could really use the help and generosity of the fandom to get her through this.
For this reason I am asking some artists if they would be willing to contribute to an auction to help Cookie with her cancer treatment costs. This could be a commission (you choose how large or small, even a con badge or icon would be awesome), an original, a signed print or print pack, art CD, merchandise, anything you'd be willing to spare or spare time for would be greatly appreciated.
If you are interested, please comment, note me or email me, (korrokhyena@gmail.com) with the information requested below.
Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this appeal! The following artists are participating so far:
korrok - mearu - karakina - grion_wolffox - muzz - banrai - shalinka - mazz - Annubrius - thegarnet - nightwolfrose - metal-head-rush - pickled_lemur - sketchkat - tayalu - angelwolf - shirik - sinabu - kisu - AirGuiTar - van-weasel - rustchic - neweinstein - tiggerfellini - smudge_rat - fayyaislin - furryfursuitmaker - spreebok - nyemi - rhazafax - shycrestedgirl - dacapo - lay0wn - norala - pareldraakje - kumathekodiak - neo - lychee - nyaasu - fragment-six - subversive-imaginati - black_diaraikia - sevalprincess - greenlioness - mysticsabreonic - jesslyra - sapp - zaru666 - teahound - veetanitu - kota-cub - rachez - unburntdaenerys - ladyfaith - tenino - stefi-heartlilly - muddy - gallifreyan - ramthedragon - lazer_hyena

Posted 14 years agoToday I turned 27. Now I need to go change the ages on all my profiles, such a chore!
I feel old. Somehow I'm sure I'm the same as I was 10 years ago, though I've changed a lot in personality since then, in both positive and negative ways. But I don't feel much older than I did 10 years ago. It's an odd thing.
If my dad is to be believed, that feeling never goes away. He says he still feels like he's 20 years old, aside from some aches and pains and maturing in personality - and he's 56. :P
My biggest problem is that somewhere inside of me, I'm still a 15 year old glitter goth. :X My brain hasn't quite caught up to "you are way too old for that shizz, stop it". I'm trying to get over it little by little!
So, yeah. Birthdays are weird. Bah!

No More Adult Artwork - Please Read
Posted 14 years agoThis has been a long time in consideration and something I've spoke about with friends many times - but now I feel ready to put my foot down and say it once and for all:
I will no longer be offering adult artwork commissions.
This specifically means porn. I have no issue drawing artistic nudes at all and will continue to do so. Anything more explicit is a simple no.
My reasons for this are many and varied, and have expanded over the years, but the only thing I want to say is that I am not comfortable drawing adult content, I do not feel at ease with it in the slightest. I think I'll enjoy working on commissions more if I remove it from what I offer.
I will continue to sell my adult prints if I'm at conventions, though there will gradually be less of these - a lot of stock will not be replaced when it sells out.
Honestly I would be a hypocrite if I didn't add that there *may* be a chance of me offering an adult commission in future via auction if urgent financial need arose, or collaborating as colourist on adult art for a friend. So yes, that COULD happen. If it does, I don't want to hear BUT YOU SAID NO MORE because...it's my choice.
There is one remaining piece of M/M adult art in my commission queue and that will be completed and posted to my gallery. And that will be the last. I hope that you will all stick around despite this, and as always I appreciate your support. Thank you! :)
- Sarah / Korrok
EDIT: Many thanks to you all for your support! I would thank you all individually but I can't think of a way to do so without getting hellishly repetitive - but I appreciate every one of your comments. :) :)

Recommend Me Some MUSIC!
Posted 14 years agoI think I need some new and awesome music in my life. It's once again gotten to that point where I'm listening to the same stuff over and over - and while that stuff is great, some variety and discovering new things is also wonderful.
So I ask you all to recommend me some music. It can be a band, album or just a song. Link a YouTube video or other sample (available outside the US) if possible, otherwise I can try to look it up on Spotify. Please try to make it something you think I'd like - if in doubt, consult the following:
Style likes: Rock, alt rock, 90's indie & indie rock, Britpop, EBM, industrial, nu-metal, non-screamy metal, emo, 80s, goth styles e.g. darkwave, pop-punk, grunge
Examples of Band likes: Manic Street Preachers, The Cruxshadows, Mesh, Combichrist, Blur, Reaper, Grendel, Covenant, Placebo, Mindless Self Indulgence, Mansun, My Chemical Romance, Panic At The Disco (first album), :wumpscut:, Noisuf-X, Offspring, Backyard Babies, The Wildhearts, Apoptygma Berzerk, Korn, Blink 182, Bowling For Soup, Nirvana, Faderhead, Hole, L7, The Cure, The Smiths, NIN, Lady Gaga (the shame!)
DEFINITE NO: most classic rock, instrumental/movie themes/classical, rap, r'n'b, country, anything like Nickleback OH GOD NOT NICKLEBACK, Foo Fighters, anything like Coldplay/boring 2000's MOR rock, screamy or really heavy beat the shit out of the drumkit metal, Weird Al or assorted "joke songs"
Pretty much anything else is fair game. Thank you for your suggestions. :D

Regarding My Art & e621 etc
Posted 14 years agoI've had a few enquiries lately about the uploading of my art to sites like e621, fchan and similar, and whether this is okay by me.
A lot of artists have big issues with this kind of uploading, I however do not. I have no objections whatsoever to you placing my art on other gallery sites. I have only a few conditions:
1: Art must be appropriately tagged/credited to me, preferably just as "Korrok" rather than my real name!
2: Any signatures/watermarks/whatever must be left on the art
3: The art should be posted in its original form, unedited, uncropped and so on.
4: If you happen to have hi-res copies - whether these be scans from originals or prints, or digital downloads - these must not be redistributed, even if you commissioned the art.
5: A link back to my FA is highly appreciated if there's space for you to do so! :D
I'm pretty sure these conditions are plenty reasonable. :)
Thanks for your interest in my art and I appreciate that you enjoy it enough to share it!

Art Delays - Note To Commissioners
Posted 14 years agoHi guys,
This is just a very quick update to say that at the moment commissions are a bit delayed. The ones on my list are as follows:
VobE - inking
Reidon - sketching
Ewous
Milan & Bengges
Me and my boyfriend both picked up some kind of sickness so we've not been well, plus my migraines have decided to come back in force over the past few days. Add to that, there's been a death in my extended family which has left us all a bit surprised and upset - my aunt Pauline passed away late last week.
I hope you can understand that things aren't progressing at quite the rate I would like, but they will be worked on in as timely a fashion as I can manage without compromising quality.
Thanks,
Sarah / Korrok

Posted 14 years agoJust so you know, I was asked to take down the last submission by the commissioner. If you faved it and wonder why there's a "submission has been deleted" stuck on your faves now, you know why. ;)

Posted 14 years agoI don't normally post this many journals, but this one is kinda interesting.
1. Post a link to your entry with the MOST VIEWS: if there is a tie, just post the top most one.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2074754/ ***NSFW*** - Strap-on - I don't know why this has most views, I really don't, apart from the fact it's porn. It's quite old now though and I can see a bunch of changes I would make. Like turning the grey one into a doberman (it'd suit better) and fixing her legs.
2. Post a link to your entry with the most favorites: if there is a tie, just post the top most one.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/747831/ - Insecure - I'm not sure why this has most faves. It was my featured submission for well over a year though so that might go a ways to explaining it, it was a first view of my character for many of my page viewers. I just recently saw this again in real life (I sold it at EF 09) and actually it looked way better than the scan.
3. Post a link to an entry you can't understand why so many people favorited, because in your own opinion, it doesn't deserve them.
I'm going to post two here because they both puzzle me:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4142849/ - Lessons for the Little Hunter - This attracted a whole bunch of faves, but for the life of me I can't tell why, because it is literally a rough sketch with some messy b&w shading thrown on it. If it had been fully finished, I could get it, but not in its current state.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4985504/ ***NSFW*** - After the Action - I won't lie, this was an experiment, and it pretty much proved itself. Will I attract way more faves than I deserve if I draw some really blatant, really shameless porn? Even if I don't put nearly the effort into it that I normally make on my art? The answer was yes. I'm not going to belittle anyone who liked or faved it - I mean, if you thought it was hot then it did its job - but it did basically prove that yep, if I focused on pure porn I could attract more faves/views/watchers. :P
4. Post a link to an entry that got the most comments.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/70850/ ***NSFW*** - Feeding Time - Comments degenerated into some kind of bestiality/zoophilia debate. I'm tempted to hide some of them (the ones referring to the character as my ex's).
5. Post a link to an entry of your OWN personal favorite drawing (post up to five).
You might actually never have seen some of these, they had few pageviews comparitively.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4334102/ - Masai Jackal - This is probably the picture I worked hardest on in my entire artistic career so far. I loved the original to bits (it has a nice home at least!). But hardly anyone viewed it, and at the EF artshow last year its reception was SO disappointing. I still love it. :P
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5882142/ - Red Husky - Another one that got a poor reception at both art show (this year) and online, but I am proud of it.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4296333/ - Saule - My interpretation of
banrai's Saule species. I just like this one.
Any you agree with? Disagree with? :)

Back from EF and Sad News
Posted 14 years agoLast night I returned from Eurofurence. It was a pretty decent con and I had some great times.
Thanks to folks like
shadowsani
xanderbunny
tayalu
jesterdelorean
annetea
godzuki and more folks whose FA names I don't know for the great nights out and fun dinner timez, and putting up with me! :D
And thanks to all the commissioners and buyers who came by my dealer's table or bought from me in the art show. You guys are awesome. <3
In so far as my plans go, Eurofurence will have been my last convention for some time. I have resolved to take a break from fur cons for a while, though I am a little tempted by Scotiacon next year.
My prints and remaining original sketches will be for sale online soon. I'll put up a link when I do.
And unfortunately, my con time ended on a real downer - when I returned home, I found out that
aheria had taken her own life. Aheria was a lovely person to talk to, and she had been one of my first commissioners, always encouraging about my art, and always nice to chat to. I cannot claim we were close, but I feel very sad that she was in so much pain that she felt forced into suicide. I am deeply saddened and my heart goes out to her family. Rest in peace, Aheria.

Impulsive
You trust your your instincts. What others may see as rash behavior is, for you, simply going with your gut. Individuals with a high score on the "impulsive" trait tend to try new, sometimes outrageous, things.
You are not timid. For you, spending time microscopically examining the pros and cons of every decision means never getting anything accomplished.
Passionate
You are in touch with your emotions, and sometimes you react before you think. The good news: you don't tamp down your feelings. The bad news: you sometimes say or do things that you later wish you could take back.
You do not live your life on an even keel; you do not go for long periods without experiencing some mood swings.
Curious
You like to get to the bottom of things. You're not content knowing what someone did; you want to know why they did it.
You don't simply take things as they are and move on; you're not content skimming along on the surface; you don't feel you're wasting time by digging for the meaning of things.
Solitary
You are a private person, not very comfortable in a big group, and view excessive socializing as a waste of time.
You not prefer hanging out with others to spending time alone; you do not tend to feel at home in a crowded room, club, stadium, or auditorium.
Pessimistic
You tend to be a "glass half-empty" kind of person, which for you is simply a realistic outlook. Your feeling is that this world can be a depressing place, and only a fool would think otherwise.
You do not waste your time searching for the silver lining in every cloud, nor do you believe it's your job to cheer up the people around you with happy talk.
Volatile
You go with the flow when it comes to your emotions. Whether you're happy or sad, you show it, and when something upsets you, or you're feeling stressed out, those around you will know it right away.
You are not necessarily the one person in any group who can be depended on to stay calm, cool, and collected in a crisis; you aren't known for keeping your emotions under wraps.
Creative
You are good at solving problems, coming up with original ideas, and seeing connections between things, connections that most other people miss. People with a high score on the "creative" trait often are employed in such fields as finance and scientific research, and enjoy avant garde and classical music as well as literary fiction and scholarly non-fiction.
You do not shun abstractions and concepts in favor of the concrete and tangible.
Unsettled
You may be comfortable on your home turf, but you have a tendency to be self-conscious in an unfamiliar environment. While you're usually at ease with your friends, you can be a little skittish around strangers.
You usually don't feel at home in unfamiliar settings or with new people. When you get rattled, you don't necessarily recover instantly.
Impassioned
You have strong opinions and high standards. When others let you down, you're not opposed to giving them a piece of your mind, even if it sometimes mean hurting their feelings.
You are not necessarily a "live and let live" kind of person. You don't always make allowances for others' incompetence or allow annoyances to wash over you. You don't feel it's your job to make everyone feel relaxed and comfortable regardless of whether they've earned it.
Emotional
You let it all hang out, and those around you always know what you're going through.
You are not isolated from your emotions; no one would call you "cold-blooded," or even "cool as a cucumber."
It's not all accurate but the basic idea is. I find it sad and kinda ironic it just underlines my Borderline Personality Disorder. :| Other people got much more flattering results!
