Opening for Commissions (Edit: Closed)
Posted 9 months agoEdit: Commissions are closed now for a while. Thanks everyone :)
The way I do commissions is a little different than most people, but it's pretty simple.
SLOTS
I don't have 'slots' per se; I just make a list of people interested. People in my discord (patreon/subscribestar supporters) are alerted that commissions are open first, so even if you get back to me early on here, there will still likely be a few names ahead of you. Names are written on the list in the order that I'm contacted. I'll acknowledge that I've written your name down, but you don't need to have an idea or references ready when you initially contact me. As I complete commissions and work my way down the list, I'll eventually get to your name. At that time I'll contact you and we can discuss commission ideas and pricing.
PRICING AND PAYMENT
I don't have a strict policy for pricing. Generally commissions go for $30 - $100, depending on what you want. We will discuss all that when I get back to you once your name is next on my list. I take payment after the commission is complete. Please don't pay me beforehand, as it makes it more difficult to adjust things if you change your mind about something.
TIME
I usually take about 3-5 work days to complete a commission. I take weekends "off" and usually don't work on commissions.
WHAT I WILL AND WON'T DRAW
The thing to keep in mind is that the quality of my art is going to be based on my experience with it. Look through my gallery and you'll see the sorts of things I usually draw and have the most experience with. That being said, I'm always up for a challenge and will attempt to draw pretty much whatever you want - but quality might suffer. The only hard "no's" are kinks involving cub, diapers, scat, watersports, hyper-anything, and gruesome death. We will go over it when discussing commission details.

Posting on FA
Posted a year agoIt's been about 5 years since I decided to limit my exposure to the furry community. It's about the same time that I started seriously studying art. I've been posting my work on X (twitter) and e621. I wanted to stay away from the more "community sites" like FA. Then, at some point I realized that if I wanted exposure I'd have to post my art in places that better facilitate it. At the same time It feels pretty weird to be coming back to furry community sites after making a fuss about leaving them, so I wanted to talk about that for a minute.
I "left the furry community" for a lot of reasons, but there was one really big one. It started when people began calling me a "voice" in the furry community. That really bothered me. Once I was labeled as "a voice" a lot of people started getting mad at me over being a "bad voice" if I said something they didn't like. It felt as if I was suddenly expected to very concerned about how every little thing I said or did effected the furry community, as if I was a politician tasked with representing them. People started talking about me as though I was some kind of untouchable celebrity, who lives in their own little world somewhere and would never hear the things they said.
The truth is quite the opposite. I was in the middle of it. All the videos and podcasts and things that people made about me ended up getting back to me. I saw it all. It felt like the entire furry community was against me. If that was realistic or my own imagination, I don't know. Was some of it my own fault? Sure. I can be a dickhead. I say controversial things because it gets attention. Regardless of if it was deserved or not, it was emotionally devastating to be treated the way I was by the only group I had ever felt like I fit in with. So, I had to distance myself. I think it was the right choice, because it has given me a long time to think about it.
Strangely enough, when I did pop into a friend's discord and furries recognized me, it was usually in a positive way. It seems like most people liked my videos and wished I would make more. I've moved on from that, though. I draw now. I stream games too, but its more of a hobby. My main passion is art. I guess you could say it always was, as art is what got me involved with furries to begin with.
In short, I don't want to be "a voice" in the furry community. I don't want to cause drama. I just want to draw sloppy dragons and post them here for people to make creepy comments over.

Leaving The Furry Community
Posted 7 years agoAt some point when something makes you miserable for long enough you have to stop doing it. That's really all there is to it.
I'm "leaving the community". I can't say I know the extent of what that means at the moment. What I do know it means is that I won't be using FA anymore, though I barely used it to begin with. But I'm not going to be checking notes and things from now on. If you really want to get a hold of me, you can join my discord server. https://discord.gg/dvBcpY9
I'll be making a video before too long. In the meantime, here are the answers to some questions I know I'll be asked.
- No, it's not specifically about Kero. I've been disgusted with aspects of the community for years, and the Kero thing was more like the final straw, if anything.
- I'll still be using my dragon as my avatar for things. It's just going to be less "furry". When people see the avatar I want them to think "dragon", not "furry".
- Overall my videos will be the same, just less furry-centric topics.
- I don't suddenly hate you now. Being a furry has about as much bearing on if I like you as if you are into anime. What I don't want to do is hang out in furry chatrooms, go to furry conventions, or be in any sort of group setting with a bunch of furs.
I'm still the same person. I just don't want to be involved with the community anymore.

My Gaming Channel
Posted 10 years agoHey everyone still watching me, I'm not dead! In fact, I've been frequently posting updates to my Youtube channel, mostly in the form of video game reviews. If you think you would be interested in that, please take a look :3 https://www.youtube.com/user/kothorix/videos
Is FA a Facebook for furries?
Posted 11 years agoI thought it was an art site, but people are telling me it's more like a furry facebook now. What is the general consensus on this? I've been looking for another outlet into the furry community since bans from... several websites.
