I know I haven't really been posting much on here as of late, and I do appologize. Things have just been super busy over the past few months and I haven't really had time to sit down and sort through fursuit pictures and drawings and such to actually post them on here. And for that, I appologize.
But many of you whom follow me on facebook know that I haven't been having a good time over the past few days. I said an explanation was to follow, so here it is:
Back in November, my uncle whom I love very dearly bcame very ill. They though he had tumors covering his heart for a while. And then it was another thing and then another. They finally figured what waas going on ( a rupture in his heart and his paracardial sack was filling with blood) along with a few other blockages and such; I won't get into the details.
Since all of that happened in November/ beginning of December he's been in intensive care. He never recovered from the surgery and has had many problems since including and not limited to dilusions, restlessness, inability to breath on his own, failing kidneys, low blood pressure and a miriad of other problems. They've tried to put him on dialysis, and have tubes going down his mouth to help him breath. They found a new leakage in his heart and they can't go into surgery and fix it because he will not make it. They can't keep him on dialysis because his blood pressure drops too low.
And all of this heart break has come down to today. Today they turn off the machines and let him die.
I am beside myself with grief and hate and sdness and so much more. So if I don't respond to you over the next few days... weeks... months... that's probably why.
Just so you know.

Anthrocon 2014: A Look Back
Posted 11 years agoOMG. Honestly this past AC was the best con I've been to BY FAR. And in all honesty, it was made so because of all my wonderful friends and the amazing staff and panelists of AC. I can't begin to put down everyone's name. But You all know who you are that made my AC just the BEST time!! Here's a small recap of my adventures this past weekend.
ThursdayMy husband, and I headed out from our home in the Philly suburbs around 9 in the morning and had a very smooth ride. Not much traffic and the weater stayed nice the entire time. It doesn't take us too long to reach Pittsburgh. It's jsut a straight shot on the turnpike pretty much :p We stopped in Monroeville at their Pirmanti's because we couldn't contain oursleves any longer and NEEDED some of their deliciousness NOW! :p We made it to ou hotel, The Renaissance, and moved our crap in. Now I would NOT recommend the Renaissance to any other fursuiter. The hotel is abut 5 city blocks from teh convention center and is jsut far too far to be a comfortable walk. Esepcially when you want to get in and out of suit throughout the day. So becuase of this I ended up staying in suit far longe than I would've liked jsut so I wouldn't have to walk all that way back to our hotel room.
We hit up Sushi Kims (OMG sooooo good *drools) for dinner with and 
and it was lovely :) The dance that night was great too, but a combo of alcohol and pure tired-ness put me to bed "early" around 2:30am.
FridayThe big events of the day for me were 
and 
's KPop panel and then the Preliminaries for the fursuit dance competition. I was so nervous all day about prelims I honestly thought I was going to throw up :p
Skye and Symphony's panel was absolutely AWESOME! I didn't aprticipate too much caus eI wanted to save my evergy for the prelims which took about 2 1/2 hours to complete! But MAN was the panel fun to watch! Great job to all! I hope You two put it on again next year!
The Fursuit Dance Competition Prelims were utterly amazing! EVERYONE was fantastic! I wish we could've accepted everyone into the finals. And Congrats to everyone who made it through! I'm so proud of everyone! And I'm ESPECIALLY proud of all teh grrldancerfurs that we had represntin' this year! Holy Crow! Great Job!! 
FOREVER! :p
But to my surprise I actually made it to finals! I was so freaking happy I couldn't contain myself! Honestly, i was some fierce competition this year and I'm honored to dance with every single person who tried out <3
Saturday My big events of the day started early and just kept going! I swear I spent almost the entire day in suit!
It all started with 
's Rooftop Dance Video. I loved the cute choreography for this! I can't wait to see the final cut!!
Straight from there I had to run downstairs to be in the Fursuit Parade. I was dead tired from being up on the roof in the hot sun dancing but it was SOOOO worth it! I got to walk with Coopertom and 
and they kept me laughing the ENTIRE time! Haha!
My other big event that day was Floor Wars! And HOLY SHIT was everyone Fantastic! Honestly I think Iw atched the entire thing with my outh hanging open from the shock of all the awesome-ocity around me! I was kicked out in my first round by the ever-awesome Caw the hyena. So of course i didn't mind! Haah! He TOTALLY deserved to win!

SundaySo Sunday started off with me not sleeping well and just being so gosh-darn nervous I could barely eat :p I was so anxious for the fursuit dance competition I could barely function. So I sat down in my hotel room and listened to my song on repeat for a while. Dave wanted to go and see Lee Tockar and Jim Cummings (the guests of honor) speak, so we went to teh convention center early. While on our way there my sunglasses (the huge surprise for my dance final) broke when we were like 50 feet from the convention center. So I had to (in full fursuit) walk the 5 or so blocks back to the hotel to grab my supplies and fix my sunglasses. Oh yeah, and you bet it was hot as balls out there...
But I got back to the con safe and sound and prepped myself to compete!
Honestly EVERYONE brought their A-Game! I had an amazing time with everyone, meeting new friends and seeing members of my dancerfur family! I love each and every one of you and I honeslty couldn't ask for cooler people! <3
To my HUGE surprise I won the Novice division of the dance competition! HOLY CRAP!! I still can't believe it! And the wonderful compliments that I got from people just blow me away and make me feel SO good! Thank you to everyone who gave me great feedback through various social media. You all make me feel so great!

My Wedding day and gone for a few days <3
Posted 12 years agoSoooo it's my last night as "Kaitie Otto" and sleeping in my parent's house. Tomorrow I marry my best friend and start a brand new chapter in my life. Tomorrow I'll be surrounded by people I love with all my heart and couldn't imagine this day without. It's a surreal feeling. Not scary. Not in the least. It's exciting! I've been waiting for this day for so long, and it's finally here! Tomorrow will be the best day of my life. <3
So I'll be gone for the next week. David and I are going to London for a week and I won't be here to answer emails and such so I'll catch you all when I return!! :D

Posted 12 years agoHey guys. Many of you have been following my own personal trials over the past week or so. And I really appreciate all the love and support that has been given to me and my dog.
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a brief synopsis:
Last Sunday was an ordinary day in life and my dog, Skooter, was his normal bouncy derpy self :) That night, however, he started throwing up violently and became very lethargic. Within an instant my dog went from normal to horrible. Now Skooter's always had medical problems and after throwing up we thought he would feel better. Like he ate too much (which he's done before) or ate something that didn't agree with with him ( which he's also done before).
Unfortunately the throwing up continued through out the night and left my little puppy reduced to a lifeles fluffy lump. I took him to the vet's the next day and the did some tests and admitted him to the hospital. He was dehydrated (duh), had a UTI, had sugar in his urine, as well as ketones. All of which? Not good.
You see, ketones are produced by the body when it is not getting the energy it needs . These ketones then go to work on the body's muscles and begin to break them down for energy. So in essence Skooter's bksy was eating itself.
The sugar in his urine pointed to the fact that Skooter is indeed now diabetic. He will have to get shots twice a day every day for the rest of his life.
So why am I asking for help? I don't ever try to ask for help. But this time I'm in a real tight spot :(
Skooter was admitted into the hospital for three nights and four days... He had many tests done on him and needless to say, his vet bill is astronomical. I was able to put it on my credit card so that I can get him home to me. But I need to pay that bill very soon. Not to mention the other tests that still need to be done and the insulin I'll have to purchase each month.
To help pay that bill I'm offering up commissions of all sorts for a reduced price then what I normally charge!!

Holiday Free Art Exchange!!
Posted 13 years agoHey guys! So December is FINALLY here! Lol so that means I get to start my Christmas Exchange! I've wanted to do this for a long time, but unfortunately when I was still at Penn State, I was a too busy with finals around this time of year to be able to.
So! Here's what the Christmas Exchange is
* Any watcher of mine is allowed to enter! (New watchers are welcome as well! )
*All you have to do is comment below with what you're thankful for this holiday season and whats brought you joy this year?
* Below that, post a reference sheet of your fursona!
* You will then get the opportunity to draw a picture for the person that has commented above you! If you don't feel comfortable drawing for someone, use something else yoyre awesome at! Great at dancing? Make a video for them? Great at photography? Make a great album for them! Anything applies! I think home-made gifts are just the best :)
* The contest will end on December 22nd!! At that time, I will draw a gift for the last person on the list!
*If you spread the joy and make a journal re-poating about this contest, there just MIGHT be a special gift for spreading the joy! Lol ( just let me know about the post! :p)

Posted 13 years agoHey guys! so I've been elected to run/ became the administrator for the FA page! I'm SOOO excited! We're gonna get a LOT of cool things going, and show the fandom what us grrls can really do!! to celebrate, I decided to kick off our weekly videos with a little video of myself!
ALSO! Kotto's head is completely new!! I just finished her tonight and I'm pretty pleased with how she came out! I still have a few more tweaks to do here and there, but overall she's pretty much done! I hope you guys like her!

What I'm Thankful For:
Posted 13 years agoWelp it's that time of year again! I get to smile and think about everything that I'm thankful in my life and see how truly lucky I am. And really, I am one lucky mutt.
~I'm thankful for my AMAZING loving fiancé He's my rock and I love him with every fiber of my being. I can't believe that this time next year we'll be having our first thanksgiving together as a married couple <3 i really really can't wait for that. I'm so lucky to have someone in this world love me as much as he does and I can't wait to grow old together and see what life throws our way <3 I love you, Dave with all my heart!
~I'm thankful to have such amazing friends. whenever I'm feeling down I can talk to them and they make me feel better. Or just thinking about our silly shenanigans brings a huge smile to my face <3 I love watching each and EVERY one of you succeed in your won ways. Whether it be getting a job, dancing wonderfully in a dance competition, having fun with friends, working hard at school and work, or just being the wonderful person I know you are. I'm the luckiest mutt in the world to have wonderful friends like I do <3
~ I'm thankful for my family. I know that they can bring my a lot of pain and heartache in this world. But I'm lucky to have one. And even though they're the ones bringing me the heartache, they can also turn around and be the ones that are there for me and supporting me throughout my life. So for that, I'm thankful for them.
~I'm thankful for having a job. In this day in age it's a hard thing to come by, and my won family has suffered from this economy. But I'm thankful for the wonderful job that I have at QVC and my fellow employees that I get to work with each and everyday. Even when the world has a day off for whatever holiday, we're still there chugging away bringing QVC live 24/7 to the world <3
There's so much that I'm thankful for in this life that I'm sure I can't type it all down in a journal. But I'm thankful for this life that I do have, no matter how much it beats me down at times. I have such wonderful things that I', so lucky to have.

Surviving and my Life
Posted 13 years agoSo I'm still at work right now. Just posting a quick journal right now before I have to go and hop in at another position.
I spent last night with my fellow employees at the local Hampton Inn waiting out the storm. QVC being a 24/7 TV station needs people to be at work all the time. So in severe weather conditions, theycant afford to have essential employees, such as myself, to not show up to work because they merely can not get there. SO I got my own swanky room and a delicious meal for the night compliments of the Q! Lol
It's a pretty sweet deal all things considering that my house doesn't have power right now! Lol
Hope everyone weathered the storm well and are all safe!
Gotta run back to work now!
