After reading about all the gross bullshit that's been going on with the administration/staff that's behind this site, I'm deciding to pack up and leave. It's something I really don't want to associate myself with.

Posted 11 years agoFirst off, I want to thank every for the support given on my last journal. I really appreciate it as this turn in my life has definitely been full of ups and downs. I've gotten my first shot of testosterone yesterday, so I'm pretty excited about that.
On the less pleasant side of things, my computer needed to go into the shop for fixing (of course it has to shit itself around the Christmas season) so I've mostly been waiting for it to be repaired and get back to me (I'm using another computer currently, so yeah...). Being without my personal computer makes me really, REALLy miss the ability to use my tablet. :c
And, of course, been pretty busy with all the holiday season and stuff. I also need to get my hair cut at some point- I'm starting to look like a cross between a teenage boy and a singer from the 1970's.

Posted 12 years agoI've been going to see a gender therapist and the consensus has been that I am going to go on testosterone therapy (I guess for those not in the know, I've spent the past few years slowly coming out as FTM). I'll have to go through a couple of other tests, but in the best case scenario I could start T near the end of this month.

Posted 12 years agoI've been thinking on and off about getting a pet dove when I'm much (much) more financially stable. From what I've researched about doves, they are pretty affectionate and good birds for first-time bird owners. They're also apparently less bitey then parrots.
My biggest concern in getting a dove, though, would be my cat Muse, for obvious reasons. So, what I'm asking is if anyone has any good advice or know of any good resources that would have any information on how introduce a bird into an already catted home.
Note that it wouid probably be relatively long while before any actual dove acquisition and I definitely want to talk to a vet before doing anything like that. I just figure that while I'm waiting for circumstances to improve, I might as well use the time to get a little bit of research done so I can make a good decision.
Also, if there is absolutely no way around safely integrating a dove into a cat home, I just won't get a dove.

Posted 12 years agoI've been re-evaluating and looking through the webcomic work I have done so far, and I think I need to make some changes. One valid criticism I've received is that the pacing needs to be tightened up a bit.
So, to work out the kinks in story-telling (and to keep the art consistent), I will be redrawing the pages I have done all the way up to this point. When that's done, I'll probably release all the redone pages at once and continue with the story-progress.
Mostly just an FYI as to why there will be a bit of a halt in comic production. It's not that I'm abandoning the series, I'm just trying to work out some issues.

Job Interview
Posted 12 years agoSo, I had a job interview today for a graphic artist position at a studio which does cinema-oriented marketing. I think (or at least I hope) things went pretty well. Since they had scheduled interview appointments with other possible candidates, though, I was told that I wouldn't know for certain until sometime next week.
Obviously, I really want the job (and not to mention I need the money), so waiting for results will be a wonderfully fun exercise in stress-management.
In the meantime, while waiting, I'll be probably thinking of other commission-theme ideas or something, so I can hopefully get some money in the meantime.
Also snow. We've been having stupid, ridiculous amounts of snow where I live. I heard briefly on the radio that some forecasters are predicting up to 15 to 20 inches. Of course, whether that actually happens or not remains to be seen.
Winter is a terrible season.
Obviously, I really want the job (and not to mention I need the money), so waiting for results will be a wonderfully fun exercise in stress-management.

The Today Show with John Stewart (admittedly, I'm very biased towards politically-oriented humor in general, but I have this weird aversion to John Stewart's appearance. He always looks really smarmy to me. That's just the odd impression I get). Skins... just... fucking Skins. >:C
2. A selection of musical artists you do not care for.
Contemporary R&B. It's always just kinda left me cold.
3. A selection of celebrities you couldn't care less about.
Name anyone one of them... and I probably wouldn't give a rat's ass.
4. A hobby you “don’t get”.
Avid collectors. I can get casual collectors. Hell, I have a few small collection of things that I have simply because I like said thing. But, people who collect something like "Obscure Comic Book Issue 101" simply for the fact that they don't have "Obscure Comic Book Issue 101", I just don't understand that mindset. It just seems rather impractical to me.
5. A habit you find disgusting.
Leaving fingernail clippings just lying around.

In high school, I liked reading and dissecting classical literature, but not a lot of other people did.

Yeah, I've been kinda preoccupied with a lot of stuff lately. Mostly been working on trying to get my resume and shit together, and go out job-hunting again. Also, been trying to keep an eye out for possibilities for my webcomic. I've been thinking of submitting it to webcomics collectives and so I've been poking around with that, as of late.
Also video games may or may not have been involved.
On another note, I'm probably going to start updating my webcomic on Wednesdays and Sundays, rather than Fridays. I think that should be an easier schedule for me to keep.

Terrible Commission Ideas For Terrible People.

First one-... inspired by this picture- http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9144897/ , is Crappy Taxidermy commissions. Essentially I'll draw your character as some derpy, badly-made taxidermy sculpture. Because I'm classy like that.
They'll be full-body, flat-colored pictures for $10 each.
Second one will be Spooky Spook Ghosts Commissions. An example of what they look like is here- http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6745272/. They'll be $20 each and will involve your character and a spooky ghost. Shading is included.
If interested, please let me know in the comments so I can PM you with details, or just send me a PM directly.
Also, if anyone wants generalized commissions, then just let me know, as well.

Confession Meme

Confession 1: Your biggest fear.
Honestly one of my biggest fears is the idea of my mental state being damaged or losing control of my own thoughts. I'm terrified of getting something like brain damage, Alzheimer's, or anything that carries strong implications of not being able to think in a relatively cohesive way. Also, while the existence of such a thing can be debated by people until the cows come home, the idea of demonic/ghost possession really creeps me out, pretty much on the base idea of no longer having control of yourself or your own thoughts.
Confession 2: Worst Nightmare.
Well... my worst literal nightmares usually involve someone getting brutally hurt and I'm unable to do anything about it.
Confession 3: Something you wish you could forget.
I guess I have those moments, like everyone else, where you have something that is incredibly embarrassing in retrospect. But, I guess, all in all valuable learning experience can be gained from nearly all events in life so... as for forgetting something, I really wouldn't want to since that would mean losing that past experience as a reference point for behavior.
Confession 4: Best dream.
Uh... I really don't know. :/ There was one dream I had which had a really cool environment though. :O
Mostly my dreams are just hodge-podges of weird.
Confession 5: Favorite memory.
I really don't have a favorite memory, which is kind of odd for me considering my obsession with nearly everything past-related. If I had to say, my favorite memories are ones that I just have a strong emotional connection (for no reason that can be pinned down really. Some of them are happy memories and some are more melancholic. It just depends on what strikes a chord with me) to and have influenced my interests/aesthetics.

Either the time Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder nearly overtook my life or some other stuff that I'm not really willing to talk about on a public internet forum (Yeah... kinda cheating on a "Confession" Meme, but whatever...)
Confession 7: Biggest pet peeve.
Strawmen arguments/characters. I don't even really care if I agree with the basic opinion being presented or not, I just find strawmen terrible from a writing perspective, as well as just a sad excuse to deflect any decent discussion from oneself by demonizing the person you disagree with.
Confession 8: Something you're paranoid about.
I've always been somewhat paranoid about whether or not if people outside of my family do actually like me, or if they're just tolerating my presence because they feel sorry for me. (WELL SHIT... I sound incredibly pathetic)
Confession 9: What you thought of your current best friend when you met them.
I don't really have a one "best friend". I just tend to have a group of really good friends vs. other people I get along well with.
I DID meet one of my good friends through our mutual love of Silent Hill 2, if that tells you anything, though.

Take responsibility for your actions and try your best not to bring undue harm others.
Confession 11: What annoys you the most.
Gross oversimplification of difficult/complex topics

I guess to have my art be "successful", by the conventional sense of the word.

Not appreciating some people as much as I should have before they died.

Seeing or hearing other people and/or animals hurt. I have a tendency to be ridiculously empathetic, while at the same time a need to be stupidly stoic when it comes to the display of sad feelings... WHICH IS FUN!

Cats doing stupid things.
Confession 24: Most treasured possession.
Living in Tornado Alley, this question becomes "What do I take into the basement, whenever the tornado sirens go off?" I get the cats down there first, and after that I get my computer, cell phone, tablet, back-up drives and chargers. So, I guess in a way, those are my most treasured possessions.
