I have an obsession with this sensory overload flutterbug dragon called Figment and I need to feed my addiction. Unfortunately, Disney collector pins are pretty $$ and while I have no problem putting some $ aside to fuel my pin board, I'd like to see if I can try a different tactic!!

Option #1: Trade pin(s) YOU have for art I am very VERY picky about which pins I want to add to my collection. MFF 2014 Post con report...omg

Day 1: Friday cryday.
So I get on a noon plane and fly on over to O’Hare and get in around 6pm…the shuttles weren’t labeled so that was a mini panic attack lol because I thought I was going to be stranded forever in this 30 degree whether. Anyway, I get to my hotel (Hilton) and meet
and the rest off the room buds (which I cant remember their FAs usernames and such.
So we get all situated and stuff and I go down to the lobby and meet
and that was really really rad bc he’s really really rad. SOOOO after aimless meandering, I make my way up to 
’s room and that was just so bittersweet. I’ve met online people before but meeting Fenny was just so ghfngf yes good. I’ve known him for five years and to finally say hi face to face and give a hug is just surreal. I’m very appreciative of that experience. Then it turned into brownie-chipotle-avoid-the-cops-con with 
, 
and 
as we stuffed all 7 of us into Enigma’s car and pretended to be backpacks.
Dance happened and I had some sads, kind of regretting coming and all that icky ness and a whole bunch of people made me feel better, specifically
bc she was really sweet and got me back up on my feet with the help of her friends.
Bless this fandom. Oh then I got back at 5am because
told me to.
I ALSO GOT TO MEET MR JAM BA BAM HIMSELF
AND THAT WAS AWESOMFJFGF BC LOVE MR LILLAC TEDDY.
Day 2: #Gascon2014
Yay finally a full day of conning. Wandered around the artist alley and dealers den for a good three hours then plopped down and drew some things for some people, including
. It was really great to see them again too!! Unfortunately, I don’t remember a whole lot about Saturday besides the big…big bad event.
From my point of view, this is what happened to me:
I went to go see Gun and he was in the dome room, then my buddy,
was a bit tipsy and needed help getting back to his room. After making a half assed attempt of taking him upstairs, my eyes started to burn and I got a sharp headache, just thinking w/e dehydration…nah son. Fire alarm went off and we scuttled out of the Hyatt as fast as we could. Rumors started that it was a gas line leak from the 10th floor but shit I was on the 2nd floor and I felt like shiiit.
After getting back to my hotel with Anchor in arm, it was almost like an emergency weather drill. Furs everywhere were asleep in the hotel restaurant, being handed bottled water from staff and passed out on the floor/ couches. I was on the 10th floor of the Hilton…and then elevators were broken so we trekked up to
’s room for some weird gay bad dragon conundrum lmfao.
But shit it was wicked scary. I thought I had chlorine poisoning because my chest got tight as Anchor and I left the Hyatt and my eyes were on fire. God damn. The convention center that was connected to the Hyatt though was open and everyone flooded in there. People were given the A-OK to go back to their rooms around 6-6:30 am…oh mang.
After a few news reports, they came to the conclusion that a mason jar or something with white powder was found on the 9th floor stairwell so it wasn’t a fucking gas pipe leak lol. 19 people were sent to the hospital/ER, including :greennosedyotiecon:’s mom and brother who were visiting for that /one day/. I want to say that everyone is safe and sound, but I don’t know the names of every fur that was admitted so I can’t clarify.
I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life. It felt like a hurricane situation. We actually ran up to the tenth floor and blocked open the work out room so people could access water. Makes me appreciate my life more. I know that
and his crew couldn’t suit at all because their heads REEKED of chlorine .n.
#MWFF14 also trended as #3 in the US on twitter lmfao.
Day 3: Sunday no- fun day.
After getting 3 hours of sleep (went to bed at 7am) I got all pack up and headed over to the con again. Just diddled around in the AA and DD again because art’s cool and crafts are cool. I totally regret not getting one of
’s half skull masks aghrghgr I might have to contact her later on to see if I can still acquire it. I also got to meet a bunch of really cool people! Did a trade with 
which was a dream come fucking true fkdjsafjka.
BUT YEAH. I only had 4 hours at the con on the last day because 6:30 flight and I didn’t know anything about O’Hare security and stuff.
TL;DR Con had it’s highs and lows. Highs being the chlorine levels, meeting amazing people and got con swag. Lows being that I basically missed an entire day of the con /and/ I had to leave early.
Def doing this again next year. Such a good convention.

So once I finish all owed comms this week, I was thinking about doing a patreon to help me get art supplies! This includes a Cintiq and more traditional media aids [copics, pencils etc].
That being said, I was thinking about having to do one big piece a month of fanart for different fandoms, such as a toothless piece, pony pic, etc. I gotta think of more things to do.
If this becomes a thing, I will not be open for digital commissions until the end of the year I think. Probably the only digital thing I will be offering is gezak stuff...still debating on whether or not to make them an open species, but that's another discussion.
BUT MY QUESTION TO YOU: What fan art would you like to see? Httyd? MLP? Anything else???

wow what a busy week [tips???]

and her boyfriend. Went to Furries in the Wild and whatnot and finally got to friggin chat with 
and yeh.
Art will come along soon enough....hhh...just weird since now I actually have things to do irl now, I don't wanna do anything digital since I'd rather do traditional stuff with friends...plus I have a six day trip coming up in two weeks and I wanna get art rolling so I can make more.
That being said, does anyone have tips to stay motivated to do art when you wanna do everything else instead lol.

This means I will get my commissions on the roll again and I really need to stick to at least one a day to make sure I clear them out.

I'll dip in and out. I can use FA regularly since it's p simple HTML wise, but as far as twitter and tumblr, those don't even seem to load....not even gmail loads lol.
Athouuugh, I tried uploading a commission and that timed out so I can't upload anything yet...which blows.
I'll try and keep updated, but it is slow and I'm not even using my own comp/phone right now to type this....whoop de doo.

So I have a dilemma. [academic help?]
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I have a dilemma. Basically do I stay at Puget Sound then art grad or just go to Art School.
Pros of staying: I get some degree (or two) that is cool and interesting, like comp sci/communications and learn something I didn't know before. I'll be more attractive on a resume and that can get me a higher paying job since comp sci is really $$$$ and whatnot. Also WA is √√√ state and weather wise and I like that.
Cons of staying: School's art program SUCKS and I have been pretty much self taught my entire life, other than three pre college classes I took at AAU...but even then those didn't really help I don't think since it was 2 years ago. I feel like I'm drowning almost without creativity I guess. I feel like I'm wasting my time over stuff I don't really have a drive for so I JUST get a degree. If I just keep doing commissions and drawing how I do now, I don't think I will improve at the rate that I need to in order to even consider WANTING to submit a portfolio to an industry.
Pros of leaving Puget: I get to go do what I want and I will improve indefinitely quicker. I will be able to draw more, and ironically draw more freely since it would be all conceptual ideas instead of just online commission work. People online as well as AT SCHOOL have said 'why are you even here', which totally makes me go hhhh in the fact that I don't even think I should be there. Another pro would be I would get to meet more people with my talent and learn from my peers in something that I actually want to succeed in, as opposed to OH GOOD B+ ESSAY YAY. I'll also leave behind a LOT of drama that I didn't want but I was unfortunately wrapped into.
Cons of leaving Puget: A lot of my best friends are there as well as the BAE and whatnot. I do not know where I would be going for art school school, but it looks like the Bay Area is a good place given the mass of art HQs around (Dreamworks, Pixar, Zynga, etc). It's just troublesome bc I don't want to start all over again with new people and friends, but I did it in high school (lmfao) so I'm pretty certain I can do it again.
TL;DR People at school and online ask me if I'm going to school for art because they too recognize that I have some type of creative ability, especially when that's all they really can see from me. Just need help solidifying some type of opinion that I can't really see right now. I don't want to just bail on UPS bc i feel like 'thats an easy way out bc wow ur just using ur talent and thats it' yet if I do, I would soar and be motivated to do something with my life as opposed to just picking a degree off a list because it looks cool. I don't plan on doing what my mom did and just 'get a degree bc it's cool then be a housewife' no, not at all lol. I do not want that life nor that academic path.

Over the past week or so I have had two instances where people have made their own gezak behind my back.
One of these people went on to actually PAY someone to DESIGN A GEZAK /FOR/ THEM and make a ref and all that.
So below are some FAQs about gezaks. This journal will constantly be subject to change.
WHAT IS A GEZAK?
A gezak is a species of my own creation, derived from my original fursona, Servadile. The gezak species itself was founded late 2012. Basically a monster with a giant spiked gecko tail, wiggly mouth and sloth arms.
WHY ARE YOU SO CLINGY TO GEZAKS? [WHY ARE GEZAKS A CLOSED SPECIES?
They are very personal to me hence why I want to design them all. I enjoy designing them and using palettes that I myself find attractive.
SPECIES GUIDE???
People have asked me to make a species guideline, but knowing now that people are not willing to come in direct contact with me, I do not want to give out a resource to aid those in just making one by themselves and OR give people the false assumption/approval to just make one on their own.
HOW CAN I GET A GEZAK?
Through auction/adopt format OR I give you strict permission for you to make one. If I give you permission to make a gezak, I trust your design skills enough I know you won't botch a design, but regardless I might tweak anyway.
WHY ONLY ADOPT/AUCTION FORMAT? CANT I JUST COMMISSION YOU?
Auctions gets my species demand up, making them exclusive. This is my own marketing strategy that I prefer to use.
I get to design ones that I want to put out to the public. Occasionally I will post a custom auction design auction, but even then I have the right to deny certain patterns, colors etc based on my own comfort level.
That being said, I do not do design commissions for gezaks, other than custom auctions. .
BUT AUCTIONS MAKES DESIGNS SO EXPENSIVE AND IT'S NOT FAIR TO THOSE WHO CANT PAY!
That's a shame. Try waiting for set price designs, but other than that, it's not my problem.

SO I HAVE A GEZAK....WHAT CAN I DO WITH IT?
You MAY alter it slightly, such as I designed a black gezak with a purple cheekspot, but the owner changed it to freckles. [Just for example].
-You may use it as a fursona
-You may use it as a fursuit character
-You may draw adult artwork of it.
-You may change the gender
SO I HAVE A GEZAK....WHAT CAN'T I DO WITH IT
-You MAY NOT alter the design so much that it is pretty much a new character
-You MAY NOT resell the design for MORE than what you paid for it.
BUT SERVA IS A HERMAPHRODITE????
Genitalia of gezaks are cloacae that have a reversible inner core. Such as they can choose during intercourse what they want to be. Breasts and phalli of gezaks are purely filled with blood.
If Serva were to get aroused and would want to penetrate, her blood would flow into her lower organ, making the chest area flat since the blood flow is now down there. Male gezaks are sexually aggressive, needing a lot If she wanted to receive, she'd get aroused but not fully 'dominant' since female gezaks are more submissive.
If you send me hate or distress over this, just remember that this is MY species and I am not obligated to comply with any outside party that has differing opinions.
oh and GEZAKS ARE A CLOSED SPECIES.
Over the past week or so I have had two instances where people have made their own gezak behind my back.
One of these people went on to actually PAY someone to DESIGN A GEZAK /FOR/ THEM and make a ref and all that.

WHAT IS A GEZAK?
A gezak is a species of my own creation, derived from my original fursona, Servadile. The gezak species itself was founded late 2012. Basically a monster with a giant spiked gecko tail, wiggly mouth and sloth arms.
WHY ARE YOU SO CLINGY TO GEZAKS? [WHY ARE GEZAKS A CLOSED SPECIES?
They are very personal to me hence why I want to design them all. I enjoy designing them and using palettes that I myself find attractive.
SPECIES GUIDE???
People have asked me to make a species guideline, but knowing now that people are not willing to come in direct contact with me, I do not want to give out a resource to aid those in just making one by themselves and OR give people the false assumption/approval to just make one on their own.
HOW CAN I GET A GEZAK?
Through auction/adopt format OR I give you strict permission for you to make one. If I give you permission to make a gezak, I trust your design skills enough I know you won't botch a design, but regardless I might tweak anyway.

We need 6 people to volunteer as float assistants kinda. There is a one hour training in Oakland on Tuesday this week at 6pm (maybe).
If we dont have 6 people, then we can't float in the pride parade, but we may walk.
