Oh Noes!
General | Posted 18 years ago*sighs* Buyers' Rant
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, I WAS going to ship off my auctions today, but some of the buyers didn't get me the info I needed, or because they sent it the wrong way, I can't find it. So I had to send off a few emails asking for info, and they'll be delayed in shipping another week because I only have one day a week where I can get to the post office.
But let me say a few things here:
* Please don't note me on FA or IM me with business stuff. I can't sort it, I can't search it, so I can't find it when I need it. I get tons of notes and emails and IMs and the ONLY thing I can keep track of is email. I have an email address for business. If you're doing business with me, there's a good chance I've given it to you or you have it. Use it.
* When you send an email/payment/etc. about an auction, please make sure to include one of three things: the auction number, the auction name, your username on the auction site. If I don't have ANY of those, I don't know who you are or what you bought, and the time I have to spend hunting down that information could be better spent drawing. (This goes for EVERY email. Oh and smart email titles help, too. But those are optional.)
* When you send a payment for an auction, put your address with it. If it's a Paypal payment, if your address is unconfirmed, confirm it in the payment notes. (If it's unconfirmed and international, I WILL not automatically send to an unconfirmed address, because Paypal messes those up and I don't want my stuff lost en route.) If the address is confirmed and wrong, tell me in the payment notes. Otherwise, hope and pray the Post Office is on your side, and expect long delays if it has to go through a manual sorting or Change of Address reroute.
* If you're sending payment in the mail, send an EMAIL telling me the payment is sent, and include your address with that. If you've ever seen my house, you'd know how hard it is to find any one specific piece of paper I need, so hanging onto letters and/or envelopes to keep addresses only adds to the pain.
* If you bid on a piece and it didn't meet reserve, and you don't want it, TELL ME. Don't just assume that I'll automatically relist it.
So for the rest of you who don't have an email in your Inbox from me asking for an address, your stuff is going out today. That's... 5 out of the 9 I was planning to send. Yeah, just under half of the auctions I had to send out, I couldn't find addresses for. And those that I DID have addresses for, it took me an hour and a half to sort though and find all five addresses. See why I'm ranting?
So please, if you're buying anything from anyone, PLEASE keep their sanity in mind when doing any communication. You're probably NOT their only buyer, and they probably have lives outside art, so make things as easy for them as you can.

New Updates (Experts wanted)
General | Posted 18 years agoWe've been working like crazy on FurBuy lately, making some behind-the-scenes improvements and a few visible changes. Some of the new changes you might notice are:
* Automatic Image Resizing: A lot of people noticed that, when they tried to upload an image, the site USED to tell you it was too big, and would force you to either resize the image, or give up and host it elsewhere. Not anymore! If your image is too big (either filesize or pixel size), our Image Uploader will now ask if you would like it to resize your image for you!
* Account Avatars: Under the Prefs tab in the My Account page, you can now set a custom avatar for yourself. We're planning on adding a page that lists auctions by seller, and we're still working on getting the forums up and running, both of which will use the avatar you set. Oh, and we'd also like some feedback on the seller's page we're setting up: http://www.furbuy.com/spotlight.html Keep in mind, it's still under construction, but we want your input before we roll it out! (Oh, and we had to update the Terms of Use to accommodate for the change: no adult avatars!)
* RSS/Atom Feeds: Here's where we need some expert advice. Neither Jurann nor I use RSS feeds on a regular basis, but we'd like to have them available to those of you who do, for your convenience! We have them set up right now on our General Listings, Adult Listings, and List All Auctions pages, but there's no way we can test it across all the available RSS feed readers out there. So if you use RSS/Atom feeds, let us know if you find any bugs or possible improvements for the feeds, and what kind of reader you use!
We've got even more plans for site improvements, so keep an eye out. And as always, let us know if there's something you'd like to see changed, added, or updated!

Three journals in one!
General | Posted 18 years agoStolen from
jinksydawg because it actually made me wonder...
1.) What do you like about my art? What, specifically, do you think are my strengths (or what drew you to +watch me)?
2.) If you had to pick only one thing, what do you think I do best, art-wise?
3.) If you had to pick only one thing [or heck, even more than one thing], what do you think I could do better, art-wise?
4.) What does a picture need in order for you to comment on it or fave it?
5.) Why did you join Fur Affinity?
6.) How old are you?
I've started a club on http://www.furiends.com called Furry Artist Share: it's for artists of all skill levels to get together and share tips, tricks, advice, and resources. It has its own forums and chat room, too! Check out FURiends.com - it's still fairly new and they're still working out some bugs, but it seems like a pretty cool place! You can even find people who are local to you with their search function (though that'll be more useful as more people learn about it and sign up).
If you're already in FURiends, the club is here:
http://www.furiends.com/clubs/artistshare
Otherwise, go create a free account and check out their site!
Commissions are still available here:
http://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1003230.html
I almost NEVER take commissions, so this is a rare opportunity! The auction ends on the 19th, go check it out!

-- NOW TAKING COMMISSIONS --

Normally, I don't take commissions. But I just found out that I owe the IRS over $3000 in taxes for this year.
*small whimper* Help me.
I've got three slots open on Dutch auction. I don't know what my art is worth, since some of my stuff sells high and some doesn't sell at all, and I feel kinda weird asking for higher prices for commissions, so I'll let you guys determine what you think my art is worth. ^^; I'm gonna do my best on the commissions, and I've been trying to improve my art (I've been working a lot on backgrounds and shading and anatomy)... *fidgets*
Well, here goes:
http://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1003230.html
^^;
EDIT: As a side note, the IRS is not my only worry. I owe the IRS $3000 (mainly because I sold my house last year). I owe Sleep Country $800. I have several thousand in credit card and tuition debt still to pay off. I will be moving next month, and will have to pay the deposit and first month's rent, plus additional utilities, PLUS the last month's worth of rent for the place I'm living in now. I have to replace the spare tire on my truck due to a recent flat, and my truck is literally years overdue for a tune-up and oil change. I'm in serious sh*t.

I did something useful! Yay!
General | Posted 18 years agoI finally created a spreadsheet to keep track of commissions and auctions! And it's cool, too. Based on an idea I got from a comment on my FA journal (thank you
snistrtaz!), I figured out how to make the spreadsheet auto-color-code itself based on the dates of stuff! Like if an auction is finished and everything is done, all shipped and so on, after 2 weeks it goes gray to remind me to delete it. Or if a commission goes past 60 days, it turns yellow... and then red after 120 days! (I may tweak the time frames, but you get the idea...) Took me for-freaking-EVER to figure out how to make the color-coding work (turns out it was a dumb technicality and I was over-complicating things) but now I've got it all figured out, and I'm HAPPY!!!
All I hafta do now is input things as I get emails and updates, and it keeps track and I can sort it how I need and see where I am in things at a glance instead of having to do the research over and over again every time I needed to know what I was waiting on! Maybe when it's not 2am, I'll finish sorting the info that I inputted tonight, and get to work on clearing things out.
Yay time-savers! (And brain-savers!)

How is it done?
General | Posted 18 years agoI am curious. So for all you artists out there....
How do you keep organized? How do you remember what there is to do, when it needs doing, and what has already been done?
I have a serious problem with my memory. I can't remember what cons I've already registered for, what things I've been paid for, what commissions I've taken, etc. It's a large part of why I fail at taking commissions and why I don't usually do much in the way of business. Heck, even running auctions is a bit of a push for me, unless it's only one or two at a time! I'm trying to figure out how to get organized, but with my poor memory and ADD, I'm failing miserably.
Right now, my only saving graces are the whiteboard on my desk, and my email inbox. But my email is getting so full of stuff, and it's all different things (personal, FurBuy, art, business, jobs, spam, LJ, etc.) and it's too jumbled for me. And the whiteboard is just too small. Not to mention the fact that I'm so ADD that I forget to write things down.
Does anyone have any tips for a struggling artist like me who can't keep anything straight? I'm just so overwhelmed, and I'm not sure how to get out of it!

Art Auction -
General | Posted 18 years agoOkay, meme time is over. Time to sell art again!
http://www.furbuy.com/seller/ksharra.html
Auctioning off the cute little "Making Breakfast" piece and the Mardi Gras "Throw Me Something, Mister!" piece this time. 7 days puts them both ending right around Valentine's Day... I have no clue why that's important. Maybe it'd make a good gift? I dunno.
Okay, anyhow, rambling over. Boy, do I need coffee. ^^

Valentine's Meme
General | Posted 18 years agoEh, why not?
1. Are you single or taken?
Taken.
2. Chocolate or flowers?
Neither. Though if it has to be one or the other, dark chocolate. Or red roses, of the speckly kind. I don't like milk chocolate or plain roses. XD (There's a reason I don't get either on V-Day! Just gimme gummi bears!)
3. Will you do anything special for Valentines Day?
Uhm... I guess not. ;_;
4.Do you like anyone?
Yep. I like lots of people. Oh, you mean LIKE like? Yeah, that too. :3
5. Were you dating anyone last Valentines?
Yep, but not my current mate.
6. What would be your dream Valentines date?
Two words: seafood restaurant. :9
7. Do you make a big deal about Valentines?
Not really, no.
8. Have you ever had a secret admirer?
Yeah, well, not really. Are online admirers secret if you don't know their real name? >.>
9. Would you ever write someone a love letter?
I'm too shy to do that. ^^; And all the flowery words that say what I really feel sound all cheesy.
10. Do you believe in Cupid?
No. I prefer Eros. ;)
11. Do your parents give you presents on Valentines?
Nope! Seriously, do parents do that? o.O
12. Do you still send out Valentines cards?
Nope, haven't done that since, what, 2nd grade?
13. Do you like candy hearts?
Not really. They're like sugar chalk. But they're funny for making say things they're not meant to say. XD
15. Is Valentines depressing?
Well, right now it is. I mean, do I really need that extra little reminder that even though I'm with someone, I'm still all alone? *sigh*
16. How do you feel about PDA?
I'm usually okay with mild stuff, no deep kissing or groping or such. Unless I'm really horny, and then my inhibitions don't work quite as well. ^^
17. How is your love life?
I'm madly in love but sexually deprived. You tell me.
18. Have you ever been dumped on Valentines?
No, people who do that are dicks. Pick a better day than THE love day of the year. I mean really.
19. How many roses would you want?
Does the number matter? o.O? I don't care whether it's one, or three dozen, or anything in between. Although I don't know where I'd put three dozen roses. ^^;
20. Will you have a boyfriend/girlfriend next Valentines?
I think so. I hope so. Ya never know, but I think this one could work.

Auctions ending soon!

I have several auctions up right now at FurBuy! One of them, the Russian Blue cat, is just about to end, and the rest have only a couple days left! Please bid, as the proceeds from these pieces help to cover the time I've missed from work with this grumble growl flu that won't go away *cough cough*, my medical bills, and my upcoming moving expenses! ^^;

FC - Part Two
General | Posted 18 years agoSunday. I woke up feeling a bit worse for wear, and went down to the Dealers' Den for a bit until Jurann got out of the Art Show Auction, when he came back and covered for me while I went up to take a nap. After the nap, I was feeling a lot better, so much so that I was thinking I was over it, and made plans to go to the Creators' Lounge after the DD closed to try and get some art trades in. I went down, took over the table for a while longer, and then took the last hour or so to roam the Den while Jurann took over for me yet again.
However, by the time the Den closed, I was starting to feel run down again, so instead of heading up to the Creators' Lounge, I went back to the room. I checked my FA, looked thru Jurann's art show winnings (one piece of which I was very unhappy about, but I won't go into detail on it here), and then crawled into bed, where I wound up resting fitfully, going from chills to burning up and back again.
By the time midnight rolled around, Jurann and I were hungry, and we headed down for food. By that point, I had lost my voice completely, and it was an effort to even whisper audibly. The waitress at the hotel diner was sweet, and even got me some extra soup when she realized I was sick.
In the morning, we crawled thru packing (literally for me, because I could hardly even stand up, I was so sick), but we lucked out and a bellhop came up with a cart to help us load up and get everything downstairs. Fortunately, the weather forecast was just as reliable for the drive up as it was for the way down: the so-called treacherous icy roads and winter storms and heavy snowfall turned out to be a lovely blue sky with intermittent showers and perfectly clear pavement.
A few observations on the way back: California is beautiful, California drivers are insane, and Oregon is not a windshield-friendly state. Seriously, rocks were pinging off the windshield every few miles or so.
We made it home safely, whereupon I hacked up a lung and finally got some of my voice back after a whole 24 hours of no speaking. :P My voice is all squeaky and faint now, but at least I can talk a little. I'm definitely looking forward to a good night in my own comfy bed. It's so much better being sick at home than it is in a strange hotel or out on the road...

EDIT - Oh yes, and a shout out to a few special people I forgot to mention in Part One: Kaji, it was great to finally meet you, sorry I wasn't in a better state! And Blazger, and ReDaDillio, and Corsi, and guy whose name I can't remember who got me the elderflower liqueur (which I will try as soon as I am better, I promise!), and Tursi, and the person with the goldfish crackers, and Wesha, and all the other cool people I met! It was good to see you all!

FC - Part One
General | Posted 18 years agoThe drive to FC was fun. Jurann's big shiny Pontiac Vibe was filled to the brim with mine and Wicked Sairah's stuff. We drove for 13 hours across two days, passed a vanload of Vancouver furs and waved hi, fishtailed through treacherous black ice (and watched another vehicle spin out and fling itself across the road into a ditch a few hundred yards ahead of us), and stayed in a motel with no shampoo. :P Fun times.
We got to the con and I got my dealer table all nice and set up the night before. I wound up seated right next to XianJaguar and this wonderful fellow named Sudonym. He's a fun guy, draws some seriously fantastic musculature, and even helped me with this one badge I'm working on right now. Jace was right down from him, and then Pirates' Row (the old ladies of the fandom, H. Bruton, Dark Natasha, Terrie Smith, DH Stein, etc.) was on the other side of Xian. Jace is a hoot, I had a brief chat with DH at the art show, and of course XJ has been a total sweetie the whole time, but the rest of them, well... They're not real approachable. I'm sure they're jaded by all the years and all the fans, so meeting people isn't their thing. Blotch, on the other hand, they're both sweethearts and what little I did get to talk to them, they seemed very nice and friendly. Tani's a sweetie too, though we only chatted very briefly, and I also got to meet Matrices, again, briefly. I've seen LOTS of people here, I'm sure I can't begin to list them all.
Friday night, I hung out in the Creators' Lounge and harassed Meesh mercilessly. He's fun to harass. Something about his cute boyish charm and meek uncertainty triggers the cat-mouse instinct in me - pounce, torment, torment, repeat. I'm sure he thinks I'm psycho by now. But we swapped sketchbooks and chatted a tiny bit, so hopefully he won't slap a restraining order on me. I finished all my badges for the night, and I'm so pleased with most of them. I wish I had scans, they're such a major improvement over my previous works. I'll scan the one I made for myself when I get home.
Friday night, I got called to Jurann's room because he had a fever and chills, so bad he couldn't get out of bed, and his roomie Chrono (another total sweetheart) didn't know what to do. So I got him some water and medication and helped nurse him back to health. He's been very sick since then. And so have I. Early this morning, I just started to feel like I'd been hit by a truck, and then my voice started to go out. Now I'm constantly coughing and it's hard to breathe deep. XJ has been taking good care of me, she gave me snacks at the Den today, and when a guy came around with Goldfish crackers, she gave me her share. (Jurann was too sick to cover my table for me to get any real food today.) Sudo's been great too, letting me use his hand sanitizer so I don't spread any more germs than I have to. I lucked out with my tablemates, they've been wonderful.
It's looking pretty bad for the forecast for the drive up. Snow, snow, and oh yes, snow. Unlike the "all clear" forecast we had for the way down, which resulted in black ice, snow, and rain. I'm hoping the forecast is totally wrong this time, too, but knowing my luck, I'm glad we brought the snow chains. I'm hoping Jurann is well enough to handle the drive back. We're taking an alternate route to try and avoid the worst roads, but it will still be pretty hairy.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow, hopefully the last day sales will be booming. So far, they've been pretty eh. But I'm sure there will be a lot of disappointed bidders from the art show with money to spare, Jurann tells me the selection was poor and the competition was high. My FurBuy auctions haven't moved much, either, since the con, and the Closeup piece, which I had high hopes for, is still completely bidless.
So here I am, both me and Jurann feeling sick and sore, dismal sales, anticipating a long hard drive home...

Panic Time...
General | Posted 18 years agoOkay, so my financial situation suddenly got WORSE. I now have estimated about $2500 in bills that I have to pay within the next couple of months. This does NOT include my regular bills, like insurance, credit cards, tuition, utilities, etc.
Sooooo... I guess I've gotta FORCE myself out of this art block. I NEED to draw to get by.
I'm catching up on old work, I've gotten one commission done and sent (I hope it arrived okay), another one is but a few marker strokes away (as soon as my Cloud Blue remembers it DOES have ink in it), and the last one is a tattoo design waiting for an email response, since I'm missing a very important detail or three. I have a logo design, too, that I need to work up within the next couple of weeks.
And then there's FC. I'm bringing prints, T-shirts, mugs, bumper stickers, magnets, and buttons for sale. I'll be in the same row as XianJaguar, Dark Natasha, Terrie Smith, Heather Bruton, Marci McAdam, ZhivagoD, Caribou, and DHStein (I have no idea how I lucked out THAT massively), so I'm a little intimidated, but I hope that will be more of a blessing than a curse.
I'm considering doing badges at the con. I was not going to do any art, but... I don't think I can afford NOT to. I don't think I'll have space at my little half-table to do art there, though, so the number available will be VERY limited. Only what I can complete after hours. Which also means I'll have very little (if any) time for socialization. So no bringing my color-changing glowsticks. No parties for me. I MAY bring my Oriental silk robe, though. It would be fun to walk around in, especially with the theme of the con.
I've also got a mass load of auctions up on FurBuy right now for sketches, some limited edition jumbo prints, and a few select originals that I won't be able to put in an art show (which I am sad about, but I need the money NOW). The auctions are here:
http://www.furbuy.com/seller/ksharra.html
God, I hope I make it through this okay... If I can just get through this crunch, if I can just cover the unexpected expenses...

Pre-FC Art Sales
General | Posted 18 years agoFC is financially running me into the ground, with all the stuff I'm having to get in preparation for running my Dealer's Table! Plus I'm going to be moving in a couple of months, and sorely need money for deposits and first month's rent and all the little charges that all add up when moving.
So to help alleviate the strain on my wallet and reduce the amount of stuff I have to pack up and move, I'm posting a few auctions:
http://www.furbuy.com/seller/ksharra.html
What I have up right now:
- The original "Buckshot" sketch and inks
- The "Smoking Canine" painting
- Jumbo prints of the "Dancing Dog" piece
Also, a little closer to the date of FC I will be putting up for auction:
- The original "Closeup Buck" piece, the first of my Closeup series
- The original "Party Animal" piece (Me w/glowsticks)
- The original sketch and limited edition jumbo print of "Shades of Purity" (snow leopard)
- Various other sketches and originals (maybe)
Please bid. *cute forlorn kitty face*
Oh yes, and this is still going on:

Ooo look! An auction!
General | Posted 18 years agohttp://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1002875.html
Okay, so it's a crappy auction, that smoking canine painting. But hey, I needed the space. And BOY do I need the money.
At least it's a rare piece, I almost NEVER do actual paintings! I'll have much nicer pieces up for sale later, like the Party Animal piece (with the glowsticks) and the Buck Closeup piece, probably after FC.
Oh, and don't forget:

I'm wondering how well this will work?
EDIT: This is turning into a bit of a social experiment now. I hadn't realized how fascinating this could be... So you might see the link changing slightly every once in a while. >.> Feel free to re-visit of you notice a change.

General | Posted 18 years agoOkay, so I'm half-dead right now. I just spent the last four hours totally resorting and reworking my CafePress page. Yes, that was how I celebrated New Year's. Blarg.
http://www.cafepress.com/ksharra
Please go visit and buy things. Or if not, I'll be bringing a very small selection of stuff with me to FC, including the two newest bumper stickers and the "Furry Artist at a Con" buttons.
I like selling things. It means I can eat.

The People Have Spoken: FurBuy Changes!
General | Posted 18 years agoOkay, so after all the amazing feedback we've gotten, FurBuy has undergone some transitions and has taken on a new look:
http://www.furbuy.com
Some of the changes we made:
- We made the front page WAY less wordy and crowded, and made it all about the auctions.
- We made the auction categories bigger and more noticeable.
- We added more images to the front page, and retitled the confusing "Hot Items" to a more accurate "Image Gallery".
- We killed the Art Show and nerfed the News.
- We turned the Welcome Page from a braggy list of features into a useful tutorial for starting users.
- We added thumbnails to the auction listings, so now you can preview before you click.

What the f*** does it take?!
General | Posted 18 years agoAs some people may know, I'm the lead admin of http://www.furbuy.com - one of the oldest all-furry auction websites on the internet. I inherited the site from Jurann, who used to run the site all by himself, and has stayed on as the lead coder.
I can't get people to use the site. A few people here, a few people there. We have some good days, some bad. We get up to almost 100 auctions, and then they all end the same day and it goes to 20.
I put out flyers at furry conventions, make journal posts, host auctions, actively try to advertise, NOTHING. We've tried to integrate with sites, and the only sites that are even remotely interested aren't enough to give FurBuy the boost it needs to break out and become a leading auction site. The sites that WOULD have allowed us the visibility we need, have so far backed out on us, even after we've done everything in our power to work with them.
Most of the time I try to get people to use the site, they say they don't want to because there's no traffic. Traffic takes people. People willing to go and try it out without being led by the rest of the herd. We can't get traffic if everyone refuses to go until everyone goes! Why don't people understand this?? We get auctions that get loads of bidding and competition and views, we've proven that you CAN get good results on a lower traffic system, and even created a page with hints on HOW to do it! But people won't try it.
Every time I turn around, I hear about someone who has been screwed over, burned, or had a bad experience with Furbid and/or it's admin. I personally refuse to use the site because of my own personal selling experiences with the site. I won't use it, period, not even if FurBuy and every other auction site on the internet site fails. Why, if people have so many issues with the site, do they stay? All it takes is a collective decision to use a different site.
FurBuy is easy to use, carefully maintained, coded from scratch so the admins know all the ins and outs and can make improvements on anything... We take suggestions, we have a detailed ToS, we have FAQs and context help, individual user pages... And everything is FREE! We don't charge for anything, not even front page thumbnail listings! Why do people consistently go to a site that charges for any attention grabbing features, when they can have it all for free?
What am I missing??? What does it take for this site to succeed? I'm at my wits' end, but I can't give up, because we're NOT taking the site down, I will not stop using it, there IS traffic, maybe it's not tops, but I can't fathom what it WILL take to get it to the top. So far, everyone is dragging their feet and refusing to try it. I'm sick of it, I'm frustrated, and I don't know what to do to get people to actually give it a chance.

All I want for Christmas...
General | Posted 18 years agoLooking for roommate
General | Posted 18 years agoOkay, so I have no idea if this is the best place to post this, but this is the largest group of people I can reach at one point, so here goes:
Current living situation, not working. Livable for now, but I'd like to move out.
-- What I'm looking for: --
Someplace in the Redmond/Issaquah WA area (or within 15-30 mins of Issaquah)
Affordable rent for someone with a part-time $8.50/hr (plus supplemental art) income
A room of my own
Hopefully a place that allows pets (optional, I want a cat at some point but don't have one yet)
A roommate that will do their fair share of chores and can clean up after themselves
No expectations, considerations, or solicitations of sex, affection, or art
I know I'm probably not going to get anything, but if someone actually does have a space, I'd want to get references and meet and hang out a bit, see your place, etc. Feel free to send me a note here on FA.
Any help I can get is muchly appreciated. ^..^ Thank you!

Why I have no new art...
General | Posted 18 years agoThe short story:
I have a new job and art block.
----
The long, detailed, and emo story:
I've had art block for several weeks now. It may actually be reaching into the point where it can be measured in months. It's been at least one, if not two. It SUCKS. I have backed-up work from August and some from even before that. Just thinking about drawing makes me physically ill. I've tried to force myself by drawing anyways, drawing landscapes, scribbling/doodling, trying different media... Imagine trying to walk through waist-deep mud. Drawing right now, for me, is like that. Even just inking or coloring unfinished pieces. Hell, I have a piece that's 2/3rds colored, and I can't even bring myself to pick it up. ^^;
I've had art block before, of this magnitude. It lasted way too long, and I had to start refunding commissions. I stopped taking commissions for that reason for a long time. I thought I could handle it, after all this time, so I started taking commissions again, very few and very limited, in the hopes that I wouldn't burn out if I didn't overload myself. Apparently not.
I forgot how quickly it onsets, and how devastating it is. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the depression I'm also struggling with. (I have the sneaking suspicion I'm manic-depressive, but I also have this utter loathing and hatred of psychologists, so I'll be damned if I ever get diagnosed.) I don't know what to do. This seems to happen too regularly for me to be able to keep doing art. I will NEVER be able to follow it as a career like this. Which then begs the question: what's the point? Why DO I do art? Do I even enjoy it anymore?
I'm considering refunding at least one person whose piece I haven't yet started. The rest, well, I have no excuse for not finishing them at SOME point. They're on paper, in some form or another, so the hard part, the concept and posing, is all done for me. I just have to be able to work on the technical work, the addition of details, the inking, the coloring...
For those of you who have art that's waiting, I will get to it as soon as I can. As I mentioned above, I also have a new job that is taking up a lot of my time, so drawing time is not as available. I'm sorry it's been taking so long.
Here's hoping I can make it back out of this.

Here's hoping I can make it back out of this.
