Thanks for the help.....
General | Posted 19 years agoI decided to do my prints the old fashioned way... Myself.
I have an awesome printer that does really good quality, I've gotta go out and get some more photo paper, and I'll probably need a new ink cartridge or two before this is done (though I find with my printer, I can usually get a lot of prints off one cartridge!)...
It's just gonna take me a while.
Buzzing busy to get ready for AllFurFun, it's only two weeks away! *panic* I still have three pictures to color and all five to mat! Oh noes!
Don't worry, I'm still keeping an eye out for that 10,000th visitor! See previous journal for details!

10,000 Pageview Contest for Commission!
General | Posted 19 years agoSo I've, like, seen people do this for 1000 pageviews or 5000 or whatnot. I kinda missed that. But I saw that I broke 9k pageviews, so I'mna jump on the bandwagon here...
Instead of drawing a commemmorative piece for my upcoming 10,000 pageviews, I'm going to do a commission for the 10,000th person to view my page. :) If you come to my page and see that "10000" on the pageviews listing, take a screenie and reply to this journal with the link. The FIRST person to do that will get a full-page commission for free. :)
What I will draw:
Up to 3 characters, B&W (and no I don't mind if you get someone else to color it, I'll give you permission as long as I get credit for the inks). Rating G - XXX. I'm fine with herms, gay/bi, taurs, bondage, etc.
What I will NOT draw:
Humans or Human-style/Anime Faces, Morbid Obesity, Gore, Scat/Watersports, Inflation, Lactation, Pedophilia, Birthing, Unbirthing, Plushophilia, or Bestiality (anthro + nonanthro).
I reserve the right to turn down any other subjects not listed that I deem unacceptable. If it's not listed and it's questionable, please ask.
So, let the games begin!

RainFurrest!
General | Posted 19 years agoI have suddenly found myself appointed as the moderator for the new RainFurrest LJ Community! >.> Well, that's what I get for making suggestions...
Anywho, it's an open community for asking questions, getting info, feedback, comments, announcements, the whole she-bang, about RainFurrest, the upcoming furry con going on in SeaTac, WA in August of this year. If you think you might want to go (I KNOW *I* am!) or you know anyone else who might, join up and get firsthand info about the goings-on of this new up-and-coming con! Tell your friends to join up, too, and their friends, and their friends' friends... We're trying to get word out about the con and make it the best it can possibly be!
And if you have any questions about the con... <.< >.> Don't ask me! Ask it on the community! People who know WAY more about it than me will be watching and answering your questions. **drags Jurann over, muttering "You got me into this..."** Tee hee. :D
So, uhm... Yeah! RainFurrest! Go join!

AllFurFun
General | Posted 19 years agoWoo, I just registered yesterday for AllFurFun. Jurann didn't tell me I needed to register until the last day for lower cost on tickets. LOL Ah joie. Well at least I got in on time. Got a panel in the art show. My first ever! I don't really care if anything sells, since it's not a major con, I just want to have the experience of having a panel before a major con, so I know what I'm doing next time around. And hey, if anything sells, well that'll just be icing on the cake!
I'm debating a dealer's table. Maybe selling con badges and prints. Don't have time before the con to do what I'd like as far as necklaces, that's going to be a major project. I'll be lucky if I can make enough art between now and then to fill the panel I already got! I haven't reserved a table, though, I'm kinda wondering whether I should, or whether I should just wander around and enjoy the con and have fun sketchbook-swapping. I, uh, really could use the money. >.< I think I'm gradually talking myself into a table as I'm typing this. Gah.
Well, I've gotta start working my rear end off. I have a picture to do for Renard's Menagerie (http://www.renardsmenagerie.com) that has to be done ASAP, and then I need to get some pieces together for the art show at AFF! Yikes! I'd better start now! Bye!

I got tagged...
General | Posted 19 years agoOkay so there's this meme going around:
-
"The 1st player of this "game" starts with the topic "6 weird habits/things/hates about yourself" and people who get tagged MUST write a journal about their 6 weird habits/things/hates as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" on their User Page comments and tell them to read yours."
Habits/things/hates about myself:
1) I have serious memory problems. I'll go into another room to do something and forget what I was doing. I forget names, places, events...
2) I think I'm ADD. Too easily distracted. I can never seem to finish things. Maybe it has something to do with my memory problems...
3) I sit yoga-style crosslegged in my desk chair, with my feet up against the armrests.
4) I can crack my bones (neck, knuckles, back, hips, jaw, toes, etc), sometimes loud enough to hear across a crowded room.
5) I'm actually very timid in real life.
6) I refrain from saying the last thing I hate about myself on the grounds that it may incriminate me.
Nyah.
So now, for the 6 victims of this meme...

Pendants and Necklaces For Sale
General | Posted 19 years agoWell, Valentine's Day is here and gone again. Mine was a good V-Day, and I hope everyone else out there enjoyed the same.
I've decided to start offering custom beaded necklaces to go along with the pendants I'm making. There's an example picture of the necklace I made for my pendant on the Badges & Pendants page of my website, here: http://ksharra.furcen.org/badges.htm
I couldn't put the one for Jurann's up for display, because I made his longer than the ones I'm offering for sale. They're $20 extra, which Jurann says is too little, but I've looked at the cost of beads and I think the price is about right for the cost of materials. The cost of beads for making a single necklace can range from $5 to $40 depending on the beads used, so I figure $20 is a good median price.
If you're interested in getting a pendant and/or necklace, my email address and various important details are on the above website, so go check it out!

Now Accepting Commissions: Badges and Pendants
General | Posted 19 years ago http://ksharra.furcen.org/badges.htm
I am now accepting commissions for con badges, pendants, and lapel pins.
Yes, there are no pictures of lapel pins up yet. Basically, it'd be the same as a pendant, but with a pin on the back instead of a loop on top.
Details are on the above page. :3

General | Posted 19 years agoHi there! Just as an FYI, my hands are doing better... And I'm here in Seattle with no job, and currently looking but in the meantime, I have lots of free daytime. Be there any artists out there that want to OC with me?
OC = OpenCanvas, the 1.1v is freeware and can link over the internet. If you's not got it, I know where you can DL it.
Let me know if you're interested.

Three Questions!
General | Posted 19 years agoOkay, so I didn't know this was an internet fad thing until I saw it on someone else's FA and saw them talking about "lemmings" and "following the crowd". But it's a cool idea anywho, and I'm bored. La la la...
Ask me three questions, ANY three questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. I'm pretty open and honest, so don't worry TOO much about getting too personal.

Back From MFF (Sorta)
General | Posted 19 years agoHey everyone! Had a blast at MFF, and got to meet a lot of interesting people! Did a lot of art trades, and I got stiffed on quite a few (I.E. artists with pretty good art gave me crap when I put my best into mine), but a couple turned out to be really worth it. Hopefully I'll get back some scans of the art I did in some of the books. I was very happy with the way they all turned out. Got a couple new badges, including one commissioned for me by my wonderful new mate, Jurann. A few new buttons, too.
I'm in Seattle now, kicking back with my mate and preparing to spend Thanksgiving with him and a few of his furry friends up here. Been having fun up here so far, though the traffic is kinda.... eh. Traffic gives me serious anxiety. That's something I suppose I'd have to overcome if I move up here. Went to the Asian market the other day and found some really GREAT art pens, and I've been playing with them and getting awesome results. I'll have to see if Jurann has a scanner so I can show you guys.
Well, I have the whole day to myself today, so I'll likely be gifting Jurann's sketchbooks with some more art as an excuse to put these new pens thru their paces. If he has a scanner, expect new stuff coming up shortly!

MFF!!!
General | Posted 19 years agoTomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya, tomorrow! You're only a day awaaaaaaaaaay!
Yes, I'm singing Little Annie. Why? Because tomorrow I'm flying up to Chicago to meet my mate and have a wonderful time at MFF! *dances all happy-like* I can't wait!
I already have my suitcase mostly packed, I know I'll be forgetting a million little things, I just hope there's nothing important missing. I'm not gonna be bringing much drawing supplies, I doubt I'll be up to drawing much anyway, but maybe I'll come back with some souvenirs in my sketchbook (if I can find it!).
Today and early tomorrow will probably be spent checking and rechecking the contents of my luggage. Lessee, toothbrush, check, toothpaste, check, naughty underthings, ch... *looks up* Hey! What are you doing looking thru my suitcase?!

*yawns* Cub Art Mass Exodus, so what?
General | Posted 19 years agoOkay, so I hear all of these artists are leaving because of some drama over "cub porn". You know, boycott the evils of pedophilia.
Yeah.
Nuh uh.
You'll have to forgive me for being tactless, but honestly, it's kinda hypocritical for people who have no trouble being associated with a site that allows bestiality, incest, rape, vore, genetically engineered sex slaves, so on and so forth to suddenly grow morals over something that's no less legal or morally right than the rest of them. Yeah, if you don't like it, that's fine. Go somewhere else and take the drama and oversensitivity with you.
It's all a bunch of hype, and you can bet I'm not going for it. I'll still be here. If you want to view cub-free artwork, here ya go. I don't draw it, I don't Fave it, so feel free to bookmark my page if you're cub-shy.
Now back to real life and happiness with my new mate, thank you. *bows*

I'm going to MFF!
General | Posted 19 years agoOkay, so for those of you who don't keep up with my LiveJournal (http://ksharra.livejournal.com), you'll know that things are off with Fallen for good. Because it would be rather awkward staying with him for the con, not to mention EXTREMELY expensive and not worth it, I'm not going to Howloween. Instead, I've gotten an invite from a very good friend to room with him over at MFF this year. So I'll be at the much larger, more accessible MFF in Chicago from Nov 17-19. Hope to see some furs there!
Stray kitty
General | Posted 19 years agoRight now, things are... on the rocks with my relationship. And I've been busy with school. So I haven't been drawing lately.
I'm sorry there's not been much art, just a poem and a rather depressed little sketch. Hopefully things start looking up again.
Wish me luck.

ANNOUNCEMENT
General | Posted 19 years ago*ahem*
WWW.FURBUY.COM is having a grand reopening of their website tomorrow, July 15th, celebrating its new webservers and the addition of some new features to their site! This auction site is awesome, it's TOTALLY free (not like the little "pay for attention" addons that Furbid has), the interface for buyers AND sellers is just awesome, and the site LOOKS so much better too! There's also some interesting features like Private Auctions, so if you want to auction something privately among, say, a group or friends or so on, you can do so.
The part *I* love about it is your picture, if you submit a preview thumbnail with the auction, will be shown on THE MAIN PAGE, for NO CHARGE. Talk about advertising your work, right there! You can't get that on Furbid unless you PAY!
So I'm planning on offering some stuff tomorrow, like prints for lower cost than on my website, and prints of the stuff I've sent on to HotFurs.com (I have permission from the admin), and HOPEfully I'll be able to whip up some new art tonight and post it up there too! I know the admin of Furbuy.com has talked with other artists who have offered to support this venture to get Furbuy up and going strong again, and if you're an artist, come join me, let's try and get this thing going! I'd LOVE to have Furbuy up to speed and giving Furbid.wtf a run for its money! :D :D :D
GO SEE FURBUY TOMORROW! BID, SELL, AND COME BACK OFTEN!!!

Now selling prints!
General | Posted 19 years agoWheeeeee! Yes, I am now selling high-resolution prints of some of my pictures. Unfortunately, I don't have high-res copies of all my stuff, but I do have most of the newer stuff from this year and 2004, if you go to my home page:
http://www.furcen.org/~ksharra
...I've got the pictures that I do have high-res copies of listed in the galleries. Prints are $5.00 apiece, and there's a printable order form if you click the "**Prints Available**" link.
This is gonna help me afford my way through school and after school, until I can start my new career that I'll be training for. Since I'm not up to working a night job AND doing school during the day, art is my only income for the next several months. *crosses fingers* I'm just hoping I can make it through....

Back in the saddle again...
General | Posted 19 years agoI really need to try and get "back in the saddle". My life is kinda chaotic, and I've been sucked into playing WoW in all my free and not-so-free time instead of doing things like cleaning house and doing artwork. I guess joblessness will do that to a person... Gonna be trying to schedule my days a bit more, at least until school starts, hopefully it works out. *crosses fingers* Have regular drawing time, so I can get more stuff out there, do all these commissions I need to do (though I HAVE made good progress!)...
That's one thing that's kinda frustrating about my first two commissions... I have to do multiple concept sketches for a single finished commission on each one, and so I'm getting a LOT done, but I can't really share it, because nothing is finished! :P One and a half more sketches, though, and those two should be over with, and then I can move on to the simple ones. At least until I get payment for another three-sketch pic in my queue. *chuckles* The sketches are always the hardest part. So I'm trying to take a break every so often and whip up a quick pic so you guys out there don't get bored of waiting, and so I can keep my ideas fresh.
Wish me luck...

Art Theft on SecondLife
General | Posted 19 years agoA person who used to be a friend of mine on the game SecondLife, character named Keichimaru Murakami, is selling unauthorized copies of art folios on a vendor in the game. The folios even state on the cover (which he uses as the display image for the art) "DO NOT COPY OR SCAN". I asked him about it, asked him if he had permission, and he said no, he didn't have to, he was Canadian so the copyright laws didn't apply.
This was a guy I used to consider a friend. I first met him well over a year ago. We even used to have a relationship. But when I talked to him about taking down that art, he called me an art nazi and told me to get out of his club, and then force-weaponed me across 4 sims. (For those of you who don't play the game, basically he used a malicious script in-game to knock my character the equivalent of miles away.) Then he got me ejected from a group I was a member of, because he was friends with one of the officers. I reported it to as many artists as I could that were being stolen from, and I reported the theft and the force-weapon abuse to the in-game authorities. But man, I'm just feeling betrayed. He's taking money away from the artists that sell these folios to make a living! Why don't people understand that??
*cries*
