It's the most magical time of the year, sleigh bells ring, chestnuts roast, and a few walk in *Wonderland ©. Oh, and lots of people get presents! However, this year, I'm sad to say you won't be getting my presence.

*a winter

I have to say, this has become one of my favorite Kirby games. And I've played 'em all, baby.
I was a little worried at first, seeing as some of the people who made Wario Land: Shake it! were contributing majorly on this, but the resulting game was breathtaking.
It's worth noting that it's a slow-paced game. The music reflects this. There's also a narrator, who's really grown on me. They introduce a small batch of new characters, not counting the main villain "Yin-Yarn". Prince Fluff is the most notable, and player two will play as him in the co-op mode.
Oh yes, all of the levels are co-op. Quite wonderful, though Kirby games have been pretty good about that as is, so it's nothing really new.

The game is artistically breathtaking, I can't get enough of it, and the music is charming and new. There are a few remixes thrown in, but it's all played on real instruments, so no uber-techno stuff. It feels a bit like Little Big Planet.

There was a bit of adjusting to make, since it's not a typical Kirby game. He cannot inhale enemies, and instead can make most of them into a ball of yarn above his head, to be thrown at something. Somewhat like Klonoa, minus the double-jump ability. There are different forms he can assume, such as a weight (think ground pound), and a car, for dashing. I won't spoil any more, but it's rather easy to get the hang of, and adds a lot of new style to the series.

One thing I might complain about is the lack of replay value. I've completely beaten this game, yesterday as a matter of fact, and I'd say beating it 100% only took eighteen hours. That's not to say I didn't love playing it, which I did, I just wish I could re-live and experience it some more. There are mini games, and some hidden goodies on the levels, but still... Ah well, nobody's perfect.

I cannot stress how much I adore this game for the art and music. That's probably the reason I keep watching the cutscenes and listening to the music. Hope there's an OST avaliable...

Sadly, I haven't played co-op, but would like to, some day in the future. I understand that apparantly the mega-transormations (major forms only avaliable in select locations of levels) have added abilities with it. I give it 4.5 out of 5. If not more than that. The only reason I don't give it a perfect 5 is because I'd feel biased as a huge Kirby fan, as well as the lack of replay ability.

In my last journal, I gave the impression NIS and/or NIS America could do no wrong.

Turns out I was wrong.

Rhapsody, an RPG from NIS all about music. Thought "Woah, perfect!"

Awful game. Never gets any better.

Try Disgaea, Soul Nomad, or anything else from NIS instead.

This happened a while back, but it was so beautiful. A lot of people were scared it wouldn't snow this year either, and their fear rubbed off on me.

But then it did.

And I was so happy. :3

Neither are the answer.
The answer to anything.

Hatred is created from weakness. Why should we hate? The very meaning of the word has been numbed. It's one of the most powerful things to be done. To hate is to condemn. To regret. To create pain.
When used properly, I suppose, it can create law. Order. The restrictions that keep society functioning, until it inevitably breaks and rebuilds itself.

Love can be even more painful. It creates hope. It lowers walls. It gives meaning. But with love comes commitment, restriction, loyalty, fear, despair, and hatred. In our selfishness, we're blinded by love. We begin placing values. We begin taking things for granted. Regretting. Leaving resentment in the place of hope, to fester like a disease. After aquiring the treasure, we are not satisfied...
