Still alive folks, though given the content on this page I get how you might think otherwise.

2020 was, well, 2020. I was fortunate enough to have a better year than a lot of people, but I'm still happy to put it behind me.

Over the past couple years I've been more content to read other peoples work rather than create my own, special shout to  retroinferno and their Disintegration series, but it's time to at least make the attempt at content again.

No promises on anything, you just have to read past new years updates to know I'm terrible at these, but I'm going make the effort to put 250 words to paper per day and see where that takes me.

Don't know if other writers do this, but there's a simple joy in just reading stuff I've written years ago. In an effort to perhaps restart a story line, no I'm not going to say which, I re-read several chapters to try and get a good handle on the various character voices and quite happily finding myself enjoying the writing of my younger self. My neurosis promptly informed me that I can't write to this level anymore, but for once chose to ignore it.

I've gotten a lot of watches lately so it does make me feel guilty that I'm not producing more content. So here's my weak, oh so very weak, explanation to lack of new crap.

The problem is managing the expectations of finishing stories vs. starting new ones. I legit feel guilty that the Stage Series isn't done and it makes it hard to work on anything new. Ideally I'd love to ignore everything I've done, and just focus on new efforts but that's not fair on to really anyone who's enjoyed the work I've produced before. I really need a warning on this page that the writer has attention deficit issues in regards to stories, might set expectations lower. Aside from the Frontlines series, I'm honestly terrible at the whole completed stories thing.

So those are my thoughts, but for fun, what series would you like me to focus on more? Yes this will cause more issues down the line, but it actually might produce more content, so who knows?

I don't have much pull, and I don't have much of an audience, but what little I have I want to inform.

 Arbon is someone who's writing I've enjoyed for sometime.

He recently finished a novel called Gesshru, a short story I was amazed by a few years back and expanded into a full complete 100,000 + word novel.

4 Chapters in and I'll say it's a brilliant inversion of some of the things I've written (Symbiosis is apparently one of the inspirations, go me).

I'll just say say if you've read Frontlines and enjoyed it, or read Iron Age this is definitely worth a shot.

Arbon plans to release a chapter a week till it's finished, or you can read the whole thing now for a $1.

As that last update may have hinted at, I'm still alive, yay! I'd like to give some dramatic reasoning why 2016 was just a big ocean of nothing, but I got nothing. I just suck, sorry.

I can't even really count that CAS chapter as 'new' material as sections of it were written in 2014 with little changes! That said it's a new year, new hopes, blah blah blah. I do have a completely new story that will pop up in March. Not a series, but an opening to several potential stories.

Also I'm re-reading Acting, Thorn, Dynamo, and Iron Age. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing, but they're on my mind and hey CAS came back so who knows?

Did some inventory to the stories about to go up in scraps, so you can gauge what you might be interested in.

The Care and Feeding of Roommates: 1769 words, set in the Stage Verse about two roommates.

The Heir's Vacation: 5349 words, tried something new with this one. Probably the most choppy as some scenes cut out and pick up elsewhere.

Attachments: 5642 words, some of these characters look very familiar if a bit older...hmm. There's just something about magic shows.

Alex and the Wedding: 8115 words, if nothing else it might be good for a few laughs. Featuring a host of characters from rp with Alex ©  meisterli

So here's that little reminder that I'm not dead, but writing progress has been...um bad, yes that's the best way to describe it. Still even though my projects have gone nowhere I am still writing, so trying to find some motivation I'll post a few of them up in my scraps folder.

A word of warning though these are unfinished, and unedited drafts, but if you want to get a peak inside my head it might be worth a look. Who knows, you might find something you like.

Dynamo #10 is done, and going off to editing.

Another project, that I'm keeping close to my chest atm, passed the 4,000 word mark. So no complaints so far.

Well at least from a personal writing mind set. There were some excuses but aside from Iron Age, which I liked (even if no one else did), creatively it was absolutely dismal. So what am I going to do about it? I abandoned my 250 a day principles and I need to get back to that, everything else is kind of secondary.

I'd love to say CAS is getting done, Dynamo's getting continued, Connections will live again, but anyone who has stuck around this long knows better than that. 250 a day, and we'll go from there.

Haven't been streaming mostly cause of work issues and wanting no stress on the weekend. Those that know me already know this but I struggle mightily in front of an audience, and even in the best of times I get really nervous, if there's anything else going on I'm useless. A whole mess of social anxiety stuff that's been preventing streams for a while now. A long way of saying it's not you, it's me that I hope doesn't sound like bullshit.

For someone who's gallery is a mess, this is pretty cool for me. At least for the Stage Series (still working on the others) you know longer have to dig forever to find what you're looking for! It's all in a neat folder. Pretty sad I'm getting excited over something other sites have had for years, but I'm lazy, and FA has more of my stuff than any other site. So I'll take a modest improvement over no improvement.
