My queue is emptying out, with only 3 pieces left to do. I will likely start actively seeking more commissions after those are finished.

Commission Update: New Job

Just posting an update that I started my new job this week. I am a kennel technician at one of the local vet hospitals, and I'm not sure what kind of hours I'll be working on the reg right now. I worked 12 hours yesterday, but only 4 hours today, so it's pretty much all over the place right now.
All I can say for sure right now, is commissions will be a little delayed. I don'y have many left, so it shouldn't be a long wait.

Wallpart.com Scam -VERY IMPORTANT WARNING: READ
Posted 10 years agoI've been seeing many artists posting over the last few days that their art is being stolen and "sold" on a site called Wallpart.com.
It is very important that you know, THE SITE IS A SCAM AND USES A COMBINATION OF GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH AND MALWARE/PHISHING TACTICS TO TARGET ARTISTS WHO WILL POTENTIALLY FILL OUT A VIOLATION FORM.
Information from PeterAndCompany 's recent journal
- They are not actually selling any of the images that appear on their site. Their "search function" is nothing but scraper software, which essentially just loads up hits from Google Images and displays them within a pre-built "shop" template based on the image's resolution. This is why every single piece on there has a title that is lifted directly from whatever gallery site (FA/DA/Weasyl) or general website was hosting it. Example: They have my title card from my Kickstarter page for the P&C pilot, with the title lifted straight off the description.
- The dependence on Google Images is also why doing a search for your own name will turn up different results each time, or possibly no results at all. Their "search" function never actually searches their own listings, because they have none. Confusingly enough, performing the same search multiple times often returns different results at different times throughout the day. I was able to find dozens of P&C pages supposedly for sale by searching my name yesterday, but today none of them show up in search results -- even though the direct links to the page forms (which I saved) still exist.
- Their "Report Violation" link is actually a 100% phishing form. If you fill it out, no matter what you put there, you will be sending them a LOT more than you anticipated. This is actually the main purpose for the site's existence -- they completely anticipate artists being upset about their work supposedly being sold, so they developed a system to exploit those who complain.
- Various pieces of malware and other malicious code have been found embedded throughout their pages at different times. This site is just bad news all around.
- The site itself is hosted in Russia, and has already swapped web hosts 4 times in the past few months. The current host is listed as ENOM, and other bloggers/artists have already sent complaints and reports to their contact page, with little luck. It looks like it's already been branded and caught in the past and is trying to keep itself alive.
- Also, for a site claiming to have "billions of images" available for print, to only have a little over 3,000 "happy customers" should be a pretty big red flag on its own.

The Transmogrification potion is worth about $22 in US currency, so you'd get a fully colored and shaded bust w/ simple BG in exchange (That's normally almost $40 from me, so you're paying about half price!).
A regular Lutari potion (Probably a Faerie or Desert) is worth about $13, so in exchange you'll get a fully colored head shot, shaded with simple BG (That's normally $20-$25, so again, you're paying about half price).

I Don't Understand This Fandom
Posted 10 years agoHow do the worst people in this fandom, people who joke about rape, are openly transphobic, homophobic, bully others and act like entitled snots for no reason, have a fanbase?
I know someone who has openly denied someone's gender identity and demanded someone who identified as gender fluid to "show them their genitals", and bullies and attacks artists for not giving them free or cheap art, and yet they have 500 followers.
A certain fursuit maker who's made horrid fursuits that have actually injured people, scammed people out of hundreds of dollars, and lies about cancer and people who passed away being their friend, has a huge following of adoring fans.
A certain dancing fursuiter constantly treats their own friends like shit, demands money, and insults the fandom as a whole, but they have a huge following of friends.
People beg for money on GFM for fursuits, and idiots actually give it to them, while at the same time, someone in the fandom who reaches out because they're about to be homeless, or struggle with medical bills, and they get nothing.
This fandom is welcoming alright, welcoming of bullies and assholes, as long as they do good art or have a cute fursuit. Or sometimes just because. I don't even see how some of these people have a following, because literally all they do is act like dicks.
Disappointing.

There are no words strong enough to describe everything you mean to me. These 5 years have been a learning experience for both of us. We've had the good times, and we've had the bad times. Neither of us are easy people to deal with on a regular basis, but somehow we manage.
You know why?
Because we're in love. Love is one of the strongest powers on this Earth, and I wouldn't waste any of mine on anyone else but you. You have picked me up out of some of the darkest pitfalls of my life, and it's because of you, that I'm the person I am today.
Sure, I have a lot of failings, but those failings are not a merit of being broken and down, they mean I tried. And I never would have done so if it wasn't for you pushing and believing in me.
Our failings were fate directing us where we need to be. That plane was delayed because you were meant to stay with me, I didn't get to finish school because I was already where I needed to be, to do what I needed to do. We didn't get those apartments in NY, because we were meant to live here.
I can't wait to see what else destiny has in store for us.

Not Sure About Furbuy...
Posted 10 years agoI'm not sure about the users on Furbuy. I feel like someone attempted to scam me (which is why my suit is relisted on TheDealersDen now).
I'm going to avoid name dropping to abide by TOS and respect privacy (though if they're a proven scammer I will drop their name like an atom bomb).
I got an email from anon1 asking for more pics of the suit because they were considering auto buying. I obliged. They placed a bid for $165 afterward and said they'd think about it.
Come the next day another user, anon2, bought out the auction. Oh well, anon1 missed out.
Minutes later, I get an email from anon1 claiming they tried to buy out the auction and it glitched, and they kept harassing and begging me that they were the rightful winner (which, they wouldn't have won yet, the auction wasn't supposed to end until Tuesday).
I told them there was nothing I could do, anon2 won fair and square,, and attempted to contact anon2. 24 hours and 2 emails later, the winner never contacts me, and anon1 is claiming Furbuy clarified that their bid glitched and demanded I sell for $165 because they were the rightful winner and that was what they bid.
Now, the wheels in my mind have been turning, anon2's account had no contact information other than 2 emails that were very spammy-sounding names, and why would they autobuy and never contact me or respond to my emails?
My theory is anon2 is anon1's alt and they're attempting to orchestrate a glitch to try and low-ball me into $165 instead of the $250 I wanted for direct buy.
I have contacted Furbuy explaining everything and providing all the info, and asking them to IP check the two accounts. And I've blacklisted them on email and Furbuy, though I refuse to use Furbuy until the admins get back to me on what the deal is.

Posted 10 years agoHere we were in the lovely month of July! I did not do a June update, but there wasn't much to discuss for June anyhow.
My hunt for a job continues down here, so far about 7 Vet clinics have an app and resume from me, as well as probably 30+ businesses (I've harassed At&T for about 3 weeks now because I was interviewed, but the position was relisted along with others :v )
Rent-A-Center called me wanting to set up for an interview for an asst manager job, this was yesterday and I haven't gotten a call back for a time and day yet.
Commssions are being whizzed through slowly but surely, with three more slots to finish, and two YCH winners.
Speaking of YCHs, I may begin fading out regular commissions and do more YCHs, as those seem to work better for me, I'll just have to continue coming up with ideas people will actually bid on, and perhaps make them shorter. 7 days seems a bit long. I also want to be sure to make clearer rules to avoid some recent issues in the future.
Repticon in Memphis is this weekend and I plan to attend. Won't be able to buy anything because no pets at the folks' house, but I can still go just to squee over all the snakies, plus I've never been to Memphis so it'll be an experience.

Posted 10 years agoI'm serious, I feel like I should have never gone. My family pressured and pressured me since the day I graduated High School to go, and finally when I was 24 I gave in and went for Vet Tech. It was at least something I enjoyed.
But in the end, I ran out of money and couldn't continue. And even if that hadn't happened, I got booted out of my home by my mom's room mate (long story) and had to leave the state, so I wouldn't have finished anyways.
Now here I am terrified of the college calling looking for money I don't have. And they've already threatened to slap me with interest and immediately put everything to collections and maybe even get a court involved if I miss any payments.
And this month I'm going to miss a payment because I'm in Arkansas with no job yet. So unless they accept bits of string, they're not getting anything from me. It's ridiculous that I feel like I owe money to a lone shark, rather than a freaking school. And it's not like I just ignore them and let my card decline, I call and explain my situation if they don't call me first, and they don't really give a shit. They just guilt trip me as if this prestigious institution is struggling for money when I know damn well they ain't. They care more about money than people or education.
So here I am, likely 30-40k in debt, and no degree to show for it. Thanks American education system.

Apparently they thought removing all mods and relying on (poor) word filters was good enough.

All it is these days, is morons chasing imaginary animals, living in the mountains, perpetuating fear and worsening the stigma against snakes and reptiles, and teaching people how to abuse their dogs (Dog Whisperer).
Steve Irwin would puke if he saw these "FLESH EATING 13 FOOT PYTHON" shows. Good job undoing all his hard work to redeem snakes and reptiles and educate people.

Changing My Fursona Again :D

She's going to be a Dingo/Hyena hybrid, I'm going to call it a Hyingo xD
There will also be a few changes to her appearance:
-Whites of eyes will be yellow
-Dark brown spots on neck/back
-Tail a bit shorter, curlier
-Ears a bit larger
-Posture a bit more hunched

So now ads are useless to artists, because everyone is going to install adblocker (if they didn't already), and you can't advertise through submissions because it's against the rules.
