My eye is all fucked up so I can't see straight. No arts until I see the eye doctor (although I am still going to try to color that Halloween picture! If I can't get it colored, I'll post the inks!)

So, I'm offering a fun little drawing to help me get back in the black before PNC decides to take on $35 "overdraft" charges. Damn bank, taking my money because I don't have any money.

Normally I find the whole "bitchbitchwhinebitch" journal entry to be rather distasteful, but I feel I owe an explanation to my watchers and friends.
I'll cover everything from AC to now:
Anthrocon. Ah, Anthrocon.
I shouldn't have gone. I had a lot of fun, and I met so many cool new people, but I shouldn't have gone.
Financially it was a mistake. AC was sandwiched right between my family vacation and one of my best friends wedding. Retail doesn't allow for almost a month of overspending and not working.
This fact put me on edge for most of the convention. Unfortunately, I was highly stressed by not only this, but by the fact that I felt pulled in far too many directions. There were so many of you that I would have loved to spend more time with, but I just couldn't. I'm sorry. ESPECIALLY to the wonderful
indigoangelcat whom I barely saw despite my joy at meeting up with her once again.
I bit off more than I could chew as well. I took far to many commissions, which I am still plodding through. To my commissioners, I'm very sorry. I will be done soon; my hectic summer will finally slow down in a few weeks.
Speaking of commissioners...
Kyote vs. Kyoht.
I had a wonderful guy commission me to do a piece in his sketchbook this AC. It was Egyptian themed and very fun. As I was doing the image, I flipped back through the book and thought to myself "Woah, this guy has some awesome artists working in his book!". I was drawing among giants like MaxBlackRabbit, Shawntae Howard, and others. I felt honored, to say the least.
The commissioner came to pick up the book and told me how much he loved the art. He thanked me profusely and, as he was walking away, called over his shoulder "by the way, I love your WOW work!".
Wow? What the hell is... OH WAIT.
An anvil fell on me as I realized that he was referring to the World of Warcraft works done by Heather Luterman. "Oh my god" I thought, "He thinks I'm Kyoht!"
And I feel awful. Just awful. I still feel bad... If anyone knows this "Marc" that has a compilation sketchbook and knows how to contact him, please let me know.
He wasn't the only one either. There were a number of other con goers that approached my table, expecting to meet Heather. I was embarrased, like I had stolen her name. That being said, it left me a little dejected. I felt small, like noone really knew my work. It didn't help to improve my overall mood at the convention.
I'll be changing my name soon. More than likely, I'll be moving to a new account next month, but I'll let you all know when that happens.
Where in the World?

My scanner died... I'm not sure when it happened but I went to scan something from AC and it made a horrific noise and all I got on the screen was that static snow you see on a TV channel that doesn't come in. I've tried it a number of times since and it's always done something different but never given me the image.
Just this morning I tried again. It gave me the image I just uploaded today, but the second piece I tried to scan killed it again. ARGH.
I guess it's about time for a new one. I need a bigger one anyway that will fit more than legal paper limits.
I've also been struggling to get back on my feet after the con. Living costs money, and I'm in short supply. But I'll make it. I always do.
So I'm sorry if I was short tempered with you at the convention.
I'm sorry I've been off the grid, behind on my artwork, behind on commissions, and generally anti-social.
I miss every one of you, and I'll be back soon...

I've done some badges for a few friends already (that can be seen as the last few entries in my gallery) and I'm starting to gain confidence with my markers.
That being said, I'm going to take a few con badge commissions to warm up before throwing myself head-long into a couple of bigger pieces that have been on my list...
I'm going have eight slots open... any takers?
Torso badges are $20 a piece; they are laminated and can be either a pin or lanyard.

Hiatus

Someone close to me told me I was "taking them for a ride".
Someone close to me has insinuated that, should I stay in my dead-end job much longer, they will be walking out of my life.
I'm going to be taking a hiatus from the community for a while.
I must focus on my career and my future.
I will be loging on here and there to communicate with different members of the community concerning buisness arrangements made prior to this, but I will be unavailable for the most part.
Please note me with any concerns you have about deadlines and artworks.
(Pensive, I will have your image done by the 14th.)
I'm very sorry to all of my new watchers and my new friends. Please understand that there is a lot at stake here and I can't spend time on my hobbies when I don't give the time of day to my career.
Hopefully this is a short phase in which I will quickly recover and get back to drawing.
I love you guys.

Amiability, Art, and Anthrocon

Amiability
Well friends, I'm back. It's been a long hiatus filled with endless trials and tribulations. I changed jobs, only to change back again. I took a road trip with a best friend, was hurt very badly in the process, and only now are the emotional wounds starting to heal. I moved in with Bryce, I got a cat (who is the sweetest little guy), I lost a hamster to diabetes, I *think* my sister stole my scanner, and I waded my way through a mini breakdown. I made some new friends, new art, new mistakes. And now I'm back to immerse myself in this wonderful community again!
Art
My art block has left me, FINALLY! I'm getting into some trades and such to help move it along and I'm working on some portfolios. If I owe you anything, please send me a note about it and I'll get right back on track with it.
That being said, I lost my journal from AC 07 that I kept all my commission info in. It's not that big a deal as most of the people who bought a piece already recieved it at the con but there are a couple comms that I need help getting the info back for. In particular, I need to address:
Newie, CyberWuffy, and one guy that I can't remember for the life of me. He commissioned two grey wolves, male and female, back to back. (Did anyone else get a similar commission and if so, who was he?)

Ah yes. It's a half a year away and already I'm pumped. Why? Because I WANNA GO NOW DAMMIT! Here's the shin-diggity; I have a table next to Tamen this year. Yes. We got seperate tables with our own seperate shiney assistants. OMG we're growing up! *sniffle* Leafy will be joining me this year to help me peddle my wares. Along with my Tam and lil Leafy I will be gallavanting around with Sagira, Raff (if he comes), and SketchSamurai (whom you will all get to meet and fawn over in the artist alley). I will be glued to the loveable side of IndigoAngelcat (omg squishyloves!) and invading the personal space of JenKiwi! I will be hugging everything in sight so you'd best come get your loves on or stay at a nice 40 ft distance. (we coyote's move fast, mmmmhm.) Badges will be available and I want badge trades DARN YOU!

I'm spending the time cranking out work of AC... I have three badges to finish. Reax, Kairi, and Tekie, the badges are drawn but not scanned and colored. They will be as soon as I get back home. Tamen, I screwed up with the fox portfolio and sized the images down to much without backups. The print out blocky. I'm going to rescan and color them as soon as I get home, and I'll call you sometime this next week to go over stuff. ARGH I'm so freaking busy. Don't worry, things will get done. This whole week in Maine is dedicated to the con.

I finished Kulocks because he followed the rules and made the same offer on his page. I went to EVERY persons site that wanted a sketch and browsed thier journal histories.

I do have a show to prepare for, however, so these sketches may take a while getting done. I'll probably do them while waiting for my food at a restraunt or the lobby at the eye doctors or something. I just thought this was a great art pushing idea that would catch fire immediately here on FA!
