Instagram and FA
Posted 9 years agoI originally wanted to close this account, but I don't want to lose contact with some of you guys here on FA, especially since FA is where it picked up more for me as a furry and as an artist, so I will update my Instagram as usual but I will try to keep posting here. There won't be as much content here compared to Instagram, but it's something.
I will also be updating my prices since I would like to open commissions up for art.
Sorry for any confusion! I love you guys, so I don't want to do anything that ends up removing anyone from my life, and it's a small group of you, but you guys have been so amazing! :)

Moving Off FA, Please Read!
Posted 9 years agoI have been using Instagram a lot more, it's more convenient for me for posting, so I have decided to make that my official art posting site. You will be able to see everything that I make, not just furry stuff. There's a lot of experiments on there as well. If you have one and want to find me search The_Rambling_Canine

In Progress
Posted 9 years agoI am trying to clean up this account to look better for commissions. I will be adding things to my commissions list such as stuffed fleece pawpads for those that are making your own paws and cannot sew on pawpads yet, and other such things. The two suits I have been working on are almodt complete and pictures will be taken tonight of the partials. I am opening commissions for heads, partials, tails, pawpads, and drawn artwork. The things I have been experimenting with are still works in progress so those will not be offered just yet.
So far things have been going well and I hope everyone is doing just as well!

Sneak Peek (What's to Come)
Posted 9 years agoSo this year is going to be a great one with art. I have so much planned and all of them have been started. First thing first, I want to work on my fursuits more. I have one commission I'm working on that is coming along beautifully. I will also be making Kyoubi V3 this year using a base from
BlackpawWolf who is just amazing (he has a lot of freat suit stuff so check him out!).
I am also working on the 3D modeling and I want to be good enough to start taking commissions soon, but I may give it a few months to really get it down.
I will also have new dolls coming up. I will have crochet dolls that will be able to stand and sit, they will look so adorable and will be available when the first one is made. I also want to have art dolls and needle felted dolls available both cute and realistic. I'm really shooting for realism this year. I will also have a very special doll available soon, I want to say the first one will be posted sometime in February since it's a project I've been looking forward to for a few months. This doll project will be a realistic anthro baby doll. It will be all sewn but weighred to feel like a baby and will fit into modified baby clothes, I say modified because of the tail hole.
I'm really excited on these project and have been working hard to bring quality work in my crafting ability, so stay tuned for all the new stuff! It should be amazing! :)

Back In Action!!!
Posted 10 years agoMy computer is set up with everything installed which is fun and exciting, I'll have to post a pic soon, but I haven't gotten a good pic of it yet. I'm working on cleaning up my gallery for new stuff and there's A LOT of old stuff to scrap. I won't be deleting everything, just putting it in scraps. It's crazy to see how quickly I've grown in my artwork. I'm also collaborating with someone on Newgrounds on an animation so I'm really excited to work on it; still waiting on a script though. New art is to come soon, been working on a painting today so I will post tomorrow. I may spend some time working on it tonight, but I have work and I'm usually tired by then. Anyways, hope everyone is well! :)
New Computer!!!
Posted 10 years agoMy laptop has finally quit on me, the hard drive is fried and I'm not going to bother fixing it when I can now afford something better for my art. I've spent so long saving to move out but it's going to go towards a new computer so I can take commissions. I'm really excited even though all $600 of my savings will be gone but it will be worth it. I will post a pic of my work space once the decision is final. :)
Collaborations, Anyone?
Posted 10 years agoI'm looking to collaborate with a writer for animations. I am having a hard time with my own scripts as usual and figured to work with a writer who already has an idea and script going and help turn their dream to reality. I would not need to be paid and I would like to work with someone who has no intentions of selling their work out. I would also like to be able to post the animations anywhere, such as youtube since it would be my art.
I would like to make furry animations since they are what I can animate the best vs humans, but I'm open to ideas. My latest animating work can be found in my gallery as well as my other artwork.
If anyone knows anyone needing an animator, please link them to this journal. Thanks, guys!

Sales!
Posted 10 years agoI have been working on premade items I may start putting up for sale as well as take commissions which I need to redo my pricing and TOS before I can say for sure. The premades are coasters so far and I have sold two sets even though I was going to use them in a craft fair sometime this year. I will be selling woodburnes pieces in general too, both premade and commissioned pieces. I love woodburning and it seems to be enjoyed by others.
That's about it for an update, I hope everyone is well and having a good week.

Good News (Animations)!
Posted 10 years agoNewgrounds seems to have liked my little animation I did so I figured to make one with an actual story this time. I have the basics written and will soon start the script then storyboard. I will probably need two voice actors or so, but will be official when the script is done. I'm really excited about this project because it's short and still sticks to my main story for the series I hope to work on. I'll keep things posted. :)
Also my animation on newgrounds has almost 300 views, what?!?! :D

Animations!
Posted 10 years agoI know I have promised animations but my skill level was still very low, it still is lower than I'd like to be but I've finally created an animation I can say I'm proud of! I need to add some sounds and such, but it's basically done. I'll be finishing and posting TODAY! When I post it I would love feedback since I'm trying hard to improve, but I'm hoping I'll be good enough to start the series, I'm nervous that I won't find voice actors that will stay until the end because I plan on the series to be long, so I've been holding back on getting started. The last one I wanted to do three of my voice actors dropped the project thus I couldn't work on it.
But besides that I am going to be posting recent art.

BACK!
Posted 10 years agoI left FA for a while since I didn't use it much but I wanted to start posting more of my art here again, I have plenty to start posting again. I may start taking up commissions again which will include a new medium: woodburning! Pictures will be posted soon on that.
As for going to CT meets it will be hard as it has been since I'm working two jobs and possibly three. I am going to be attending a university soon and may be living on campus which is really close to the town the diner meets are at so I'm hoping to go to those once (if) I move in. It's been really busy lately.
I hope everyone else has been hanging in there.
Note: If you have an Instagram you can follow my art in process at The_Rambling_Canine it's the most updated place to look at my art.

New Crochet Fursuit Project!
Posted 10 years agoI know many people were impressed with my last crochet fursuit so I decided to make another. I had made an announcement on fb that I was going to do a red panda one but I have since changed my mind, I am going to make a dragon. I figured the unbrushed texture would look awesome as scales, I might sell it, but the design is going to be Kyoubi dragon which will be renamed. If the head ends up being too tight with the crochet I'll keep it and turn him into a fullsuit, but for now it'll be a partial. I'm really excited to work on this, it'll have a moving jaw and resin eyes. I think it'll look great. :)
Current Projects/ Events
Posted 10 years agoHey everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to say what's up and what to expect upload wise. I have been feeling unmotivated to do anything which is weird, so I've been slacking. I think it's money stress so it's nothing major except the disappointment I won't be leaving home for a while, but I'm trying to force myself to make art during times like this so I don't get so stuck, it's sort of working- I've been crocheting and sketching a bit, now I'm about to attempt to digitally paint which may not get very far. What I want to do is really get my style more detailed and looking really interesting to make a better comic style, I want to practice lighting, angles, expressions so that will be my main conentration especially with classes starting again, I will be taking an animation course so I want it to look really good.
School is the only event I was going to talk about really besides being open for commissions which my art is selling decently. It's on and off but I feel like I'm getting somewhere. I'd love to collab with others so if you're interested in that as well just note me!
I hope everyone is well as always. :)

Commission Official Info
Posted 10 years agoI have uploaded a document with all the official prices for everything I offer, some items are premade available only, which is near the end as well as important commissioning info such as fees and down payments, etc. This is normally a document I print out and take with me so the cover at the very end of the document is there.
All images are property of me (Kyoubi Kai/ Samantha Bousquet). Please do no upload or take credit, anyone who does will be reported, I am also on multiple websites so I will find out.
You can download the document here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15324994/

Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate)
Posted 10 years agoGoing to be taking a break from commission work and such for the holiday, going to spend it at home just relaxing. Hope everyone has a happy holiday! :)
Back on Track
Posted 10 years agoSo I'm finishing commissions which means I can take on more or maybe just do some personal art. I do have some gift art I'm going to be making so it'll be nice to get started on that. Also I have officially applied for a second job so fingers crossed that I get hired, extra money is always good.
Been going to the local Diner Meet lately and it's the best way to start every month, and now I'm excited to begin helping others with art and learning how to draw in different styles, etc. I'm happy that people look up to me ^^
Also might be changing my major to illustration or graphic design since decent animation school are far away and expensive, but changing my major keeps me local and is only a minor setback to me. I really want to animate but I bc an alays go back to school, so I'm hoping to make the best of it.
Anyways, I hope everyone else is good, especially with the holiday's. :)
On a last note: I'm changing my commission info so I've deleted the tab and will be providing a full and complete guide to my prices and how things will be done, etc. I feel it's important to make sure my customers are aware of all the details and to keep a strong trust with them.

A Time of Sadness
Posted 10 years agoToday I learned that the fandom has lost a fellow fur. He lived in Connecticut and although I didn't get to know him, this hits my CT fur family hard. I don't know if he had an FA so I can't link it, but I hope the families can recover and that everyone that knew him to share memories they made with him. Rest in peace.
My List of Work
Posted 11 years agoNow that the semester is over I'm going to be working more and hopefully making more art. I do have a list of projects I'm hoping to get done along with commission work. The commission slots and info is on my profile, and there is one slot left if anyone wants to grab it.
My work in no particular order:
- enlarge fursuit head (the one I was selling before)
- Crochet gifts for fam.
- finish animation
- work on inventory for next year's Furpocalypse (although I may not end up going because I am hoping to be in a university and probably will be too far away to attend)
Other than that I have the commissions to do so I should be busy for the rest of December. Hope everyone is well and to see my CT furs at the next diner meet! :)

When Commissioning/ Purchasing Goods
Posted 11 years agoThese are some new rules I am posting due to terrible customers that simply don't want to pay.
-I will not start the commissioned piece without payment. You do not get sketches or anything until you have put down some sort of payment. The lowest you can pay for the first payment is as follows for each of the following prices:
-Under $50: Full payment must be sent/ given before beginning work.
- $50- 500 : I must receive half the full amount before beginning work.
- For anything higher than $500 a payment plan will be set up.
-Work is only completed and shipped after the rest/ full amount is paid.
-All artwork is property of myself (Kyoubi_Kai / Samantha Bousquet) meaning if you fail to complete payment and abandon the commission I will sell my work to someone else. If the art has your character I will change the character so that it is not yours and can sell it.
-Payment must be on time! I will speak with you about payment plans if you are not paying in full and we can set up a weekly/ monthly payment schedule. If you fail to pay on time there will be a FEE of and additional $5.
-Additional fees:
-If you have seen the sketches/ WIP's and approve them (meaning giving me to finish the project as discussed) and then later decide to change something there will be a fee of $5 per change made. Let me know every little thing you want in your piece, because having to go back and change something is very frustrating for an artist when the commissioner has approved the WIP's.
*Final note: DO NOT post any photo's of mine until you have fully paid for your product, claiming something is yours when it officially is not is really not okay. If you want to show people what you are getting, do not save my photo and post it- write a journal or other post and paste a link to the original post. Until you complete the payment it is NOT yours!

My Life Lately :)
Posted 11 years agoJust finished up a two week vacation basically, even though school was still a part of it. But for two weekends I was able to relax and enjoy myself. Weekend 1 was Furpocalypse and I had the most amazing time there! And the second weekend I had gone to Pennsylvania to see family for a day actually. My cousin is having a baby and I've been making clothes for the little one to come. Then came home to watch the new episode of The Walking Dead.
As fun as all that was I'm excited to go back to work this weekend. I have been working on commissions since people seem to enjoy my crochet which is awesome because it's my favorite medium. I plan on making more crochet fursuits since the first one became a hit on FB, I'll be making partials and putting them up for sale. I'll post the first one to show the brushed and unbrushed versions of the suit. Both look awesome but the unbrushed is my favorite.
I also started inventory for next years Furpocalypse. I'm determined to be in the artist alley at least, but maybe I'll consider the dealer's den. It'll be all crochet items, but not so much what was at the con this year. I'll post more info next year when the time comes to reveal my wares.
Other than my work life I've been trying to see the furs when I can. My boyfriend and I are doing awesome as always, we go back and forth to each other's houses so it's not just me going to his. I saw my Nerd Herd family after a long time since we're all doing mostly our own thing. Going to see if I can meet up with them more often too, but our schedules are all over the place.
Basically I'm living it up and I couldn't be happier! I do have financial issues of course, but I am in a good place right now. Hope to keep you all updated with my art as I art stalk everyone hahaha! Hope everyone is doing well as always! :D

Back to Business
Posted 11 years agoI know I took a while off here, went to some other sites and posted art there, but I'm back due to gaining new watchers and I don't want to dissappoint. New art will be posted soon, there's a lot of it. Got back from Furpocalypse the other day and had the most incredible time there, met some more amazing people and will be finding people from there. Hope everyone is well as always! :)
WHOA! Updates Return!
Posted 11 years agoHaven't been on here in ages! I've been taking quite the time off of furry stuff to get some personal art done and just enjoy myself, rather than trying to keep things posted on here. I may be returning soon, I am still working on an animated music video with furry characters. I'm 20 seconds in out of like 4 minutes so I'm not sure how long it'll take. I do want to post a picture of the beanies I've been making, but I haven't made any with ears just yet, so I'll try to hop on that.
Lately I've been on a mission to lose weight and change my diet. It's difficult staying away from the bad stuff but it's not as hard finding things to eat. I eat mostly zucchini, squash, spinach, broccoli, onions, eggs, peanut butter, and whatever meat to go along. I cut out bread, mayo, potatoes, fattening meats such as bacon and bologna, sugary drinks, and all fast food unless I can find something healthy that's not a boring salad. On top of that I'm working out at Train for Life which is a gym in Mass, CT. It's more of an intense work out and it's better than an ordinary gym unless your fine with doing your own thing. There's a coach for the class but everyone gets help from the coach. It's an amazing experience, tough but amazing. I've lost one pound in one week and I'm excited to keep going, there's only two classes a week for me only because of my work schedule. At this point there's no excuse for not losing weight because it's getting so much easier.
Well that's my ramble for now, hope all is well for everyone else!

Updates
Posted 11 years agoBeen taking a break on furry stuff lately, been wanting to do more than furry art right now. I've been crocheting hats and such to sell in the fall at a craft fair. Going to be selling baby baskets (a baby hat or two, matching booties, probably a matching jacket, and a blanket) as well as hats, scarves, and these little squares that I guess people make for washing dishes (not too sure what they are yet, but my mom talks about them). Once I finish my inventory I'll be doing more realistic traditional art. I'll probably start posting digital stuff in fall when my graphic arts classes begin. I'll be going to meets, but other than that I won't be doing anything furry.
Commissions and Trades OPEN!
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone! I'm still open for everything and I'll be taking a few trades too! I won't be going crazy with trades and I'm going to be picky about them because I need to be able to get work done. If interested in either commissioning or trading just let me know! Also I'll probably do item trades like if there's something interesting you'd like to get rid of and it peaks my interest I'll make an offer for it.
On another note, I hope all is well with everyone!

How to Stay on My Good Side
Posted 11 years agoSo there are some things that can easily annoy or really agitate me and since I've run into these problems lately I figured to make a journal about what not to do around me.
1. Don't touch my food. This is the biggest problem I have with people and for some reason people think it's funny to steal a fry or two- no, don't come near my food. I basically mentally demonize people who do this because I'm the one who's paying for it, not you. It's also completely rude to just help yourself to someone else's food, just don't do it.
2. Don't touch me or my things. Hugs are fine, head scratches are fine, but if you're touching my sides, my chest, my butt, or my legs then we're going to have a problem. I don't need dirty hands on me, just give me space to breath. Also you are not to help yourself to my things, ask if you want to see my sketchbook or fursuit.
3. Don't ask me for free art or for food. I work hard on my art, nothing is free unless I'm taking freebies or doing a raffle which if I am there will be a clear sign of it otherwise don't waste time asking because I won't respond. As for food I'm not made of money and I don't want to have to buy more. Sometimes I do buy people food, but it's special occasion.
4. Do not flirt/ try to tiff with me. I am not interested in anyone except my boyfriend and no offense to anyone but I probably wouldn't be interested if I was single. I just don't care for that kind of thing and it's annoying to be honest. If you think I'm flirting with you well I'm not. I'm just a nice person and accept everyone into the group, and if I'm blushing, well that always happens. So don't think I'm leading you on.
These are the major things, believe it or not These situations do happen too often. Especially the food thing, I get people going after my food like they think they're sly. No, I know when you're doing it, makes me so mad. >:(
