When I say requests, I don't mean "Hey, draw my character." Don't get me wrong I'll draw your character, but I want ideas for pictures. Pitch me something you would like to see me draw, and I'll do it if I'm open to the idea.
Protip: I'll draw various fetishes, but I won't draw anything that has to be marked mature or adult.
Small edit: I'll be open for requests until I make a journal saying I'm not. However just because you made a request when I'm open for them doesn't mean it'll get done in a timely manner, if at all.

I guess I jiggled the cord too much because its jack is no longer conected to the wire. I already scrouged up what little money I had and shipped of for a new charger that should arrive early next week. I had a sketch for a Halloween theme picture with Lumi and co., but I suppose I'll have missed Halloween by a week when I can finish it.

In other news I tore my hands up a little while helping to set up a solar panel on our garage. Mostly from sandpaper-like shingles while climbing on the roof, and from nails while crawling the the crawlspace that is the garage's attic. At least the broken charger will give time to heal.

Lastly, either our house is haunted or I'm just going more crazy, but as I opened the basement door a red light turned off just down the stairs. I searched the whole basement and it was devoid of life. Don't know what's going on there.

I wake up and my right ear is bleeding. Great start to a day, right? Anyway, roll out of bed and turn on laptop. Laptop proceeds to stop charging, and won't accept power for the next 5 hours for longer than 5 minutes. I decide to go out and bike around on some bike trails and do some nature sketches to get better at drawing scenery. Most of the trail follows a large creek/small river and I get bitten by mosquitoes the whole time. Return home and I get the laptop working again, and so I decide to draw up the next page of my comic to build up a backlog in case this happens again. Lo and behold pressure sensitivity doesn't work. I uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Doesn't work. I re-download the drivers and install them again. It still doesn't work. After restarting the laptop for the third time now, it refuses to boot the desktop until I do a hard boot and then takes 5 times longer than normal to boot up. I do a system restore to a few weeks ago when it was working. Still didn't work and still only loaded the desktop after a hard boot. Didn't even bother to run any anti-virus/anti-malware software and just wiped the system. Got it working as it did before today, albeit without all my bookmarks, programs, games, and anything I couldn't keep and run on my external hard drive. Fucking whee.

Not the worst day I've had and nowhere near as shit as some days other people have, but it was definitely one of my more exciting ones.

Not like anybody would notice if If I didn't say anything. Anyway, we get back on Sunday. I would try to upload it in OK, but my laptop hates traveling, and I wouldn't have internet access anyway.

This is a serious question. Looking for serious answers.

I'm asking because I'm drawing some anatomical (minus naughty bits) references for the Yersai, and it includes a female Yersai. If, when it's finished, would I have to mark it as mature? Or would it be "PG-13 nudity"? If not, I'll probably but thongs and brassieres on everybody. Regardless of gender. Or would males in bras be mature for some odd reason, considering not having one isn't?

All I could think of was "NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!" from Monty Python. Sure we all knew the Spanish were going to do something, but the whole tearing the fountain down in the name of god was quite unexpected on at least my part.

Some of them have even gone as far as saying I ripped of the entire race design from Chu. I tell people that I made the Yersai two years before I started reading SD, and while I hadn't drawn them until after reading SD (and therefore was influenced by it), I had no knowledge of the Jakkai when I had made the Yersai.

The Yersai race seems to be an exact rip off of the Jakkai: They're both short, fuzzy, 'unique' (ie: crucial enough to affect the story; have intelligence equal to or greater than a humans.) seclusive, and have the same last naming ritual.

I actually got the seclusive and naming ritual from reading Lois Lowry's "The Giver". I really liked the government in it, changed it around a little to my liking, and it just happened to come out the same as the Jakkai's. This was two years before I had read SD, so yeah.

And saying they're the same because they look kinda similar is like saying Hobbits (Lord of the Rings) were ripped off from Ewoks (Star Wars) (or vice versa) because they're both small, seclusive, and wound up being the race crucial to winning (and ending) the major conflict.

Also, the Yersai were based off of fennec and arctic foxes. The Jakkai were based off of Raichu (a mouse). So there's that too.

Both comics start out with a female protagonist of a small furry species that is dead/dying of a dagger wound to the chest. The main character then meets a strange character in dark clothes whom, after some money related trouble, ferries her to a place to wait, wherein they meet a very uncouth, childlike character. After spending a short time there, the main character decides they really don't like the place. Suddenly another character flies in unexpectedly. That's as far as you have gotten, Kyte, and it seems very similar. Are you going to introduce a really large, drunk 'big brother' character next?

whoa whoa whoa, stop twisting my comic's depictions of events. Keith didn't judge Lumi's sins before taking her out of the hospital. And he only ferried her up till the last block because they got attacked. And Lumi doesn't hate the inn as much as Rhea hated the RotSD. She just hates the smell. And Lloyd. Because he's a jerkwad. And no, there's no big brother character who is staggeringly drunk.

Besides, SD is about (spoilers)the war between angels and demons. I think. Something about the angels and demons(/spoilers). And Snowfall is about trying not to get killed by deadly foundations and corporations. Right now at least. I'm not about to give away the whole plot point.

Their names seem awfully similar, are you sure you didn't rip that off?

The original name for the Yersai was Sionnach. My friend told me it was a pitiful name, and I agreed. So we went to a website that generated random strings of letters. We generated five letters, 'Yrsai', and added an 'e'. We did not have Slightly Damned in mind at all when we made the name. It was purely by chance.

In other news, I passed Ballerina Mafia (Immelmann's gag-a-day comic) in 'most readers this week' on The Belfry WebComics Index. Apparently someone posted my comic there, and now viewership is up
63.2%. And it keeps going up. I had always thought about doing it, but for some reason I thought Belfry didn't have a large userbase. Boy did they prove me wrong.

Anyway, that put's a check in the 'become more popular than Immelmann on a webcomic index site without sinking to pr0nstuffs.' Next on the agenda...'Become a better artist than Chu.'...Well damn, the day that happens will be a cold day in hell. Of course, I didn't think I'd achieve the former goal ever either. And Virmir gave me a check on 'get a more than decent webcomic artist to admit I'm better than them without bringing the matter up in a conversation.'

I know I said it was the battery that stopped working, and I was fairly certain of that. But rather just give up like a person who doesn't know how to fix a computer (and therefore owns a mac, oh snap! (jk)), I put my battery back into my laptop, and jiggled the power chord until it started charging. Intrigued, I ran to Toshiba's website(maker of the battery and laptop) to look up diagnostic software. Namely in the battery department. After downloading three irrelevant diagnostic packs (none included battery), I found their battery checker. According to it, my battery is just fine and doesn't need to be replaced. Well lah-dee-dah, Windows Battery Manager thinks it does. And so now I'm sure the culprit is faulty wiring. Mostly because the power jack has been broken for a long time now. It jiggles around, and it used to fall out all the time if I wasn't careful when unplugging my laptop (I managed to jam it back in pretty good last time and hasn't fallen out since, but it's still loose). I searched up on faulty power jacks, and it seems a more likely culprit now. The good part is it'd be cheaper to replace than a battery by about 20 dollars. The bad part is I have to (or more likely get someone more qualified to) take apart my laptop completely and solder in a new one.

Had to take the battery out of the laptop just to run on the charger. New one is going to cost around 30-50$. Sounds like a perfect birthday present.

Sadly, this means no art for awhile as I like to move when I draw and the slightest movement of the charger chord could mean instant shut-down. And I don't want to risk losing work to power failure.

I thought yesterday was April 31st, probably because my planned April Fool's Day joke this year was to tell everyone that they moved April Fools day to the 31st (which doesn't exist since there's only 30 days in April). I never got around to it, and then fell for it myself. So I didn't get a two day ban, just a one day. I'll be on later day when the ban is lifted. I think it was around 7 or 8 pm. I'll be on Deme.

Thanks for putting up with my stupidity, guys. A ban on Maplestory, regardless of length, isn't really something to get upset over.

After searching the faults Maplestory has been producing, I found that upgrading/updating my .NET framework might help. I installed .NET 4.0 and ran Maplestory. It ran exactly 50 minutes (longest in a while) and then "You have been disconnected by the GMPolice for the HACK reason." Maplestory crashes right after of course, and when I try to log back in I have a 2 day ban.

I'm working on a making an character reference sheet for myself in which Kyte is spinning 360° with some info about him next to him. I thought it would be cool if I could re-use the animation guidelines for the rotating character to make animated reference sheets for other people.. Obviously I don't have an example, I still have to finish the base guides and then draw it. Just wanted to share what I'm working on and if anybody was interested in me doing the same for them. I don't expect people to pay through the nose or anything, just wondering if it would be worth my time to open a few slots for this after I get it done.

It's been a really long day, and I don't think anybody else was going to post anyway. ANYWAY, I rolled SolarWings, so yay for SolarWings. Please note me with what you would like me to draw your character doing. If you really want me to come up with something on my own/do whatever, I guarantee it's going to be boring. :I Too tired to think for the next week or so. If you can't think of something right now, feel free to take your time to think of something up yourself.

If you didn't win, there will most likely be more chances to get free art in the future. Thou must remain ever vigilant! I am also always open for commission. I don't really have set prices, but I'll pretty much draw whatever you want for 5~ish USD depending on complexity of the image.

742 days (or exactly 106 weeks) ago, when I joined FA, I wasn't very good at art. Apparently I got better and have attracted a small crowd that views my art on a regular basis. And then there's the tiny fanbase my comic has created, which I think is ridiculous. That aside, I would love to continue to get better and expand my abilities, but just drawing Kyte will only get me so far. If you would like some art of your character or another person's character, leave a comment with either link to a reference picture or a semi-detailed description of the character you would like drawn. After 24 hours or so or a reasonable number of comments have been made, I'll get a random number (maybe more than one) from http://www.random.org/ and draw the character in the post correlating to the number.

If you have been picked as a winner, I'll ask you to note me with how you would like the character drawn (scene, action, etc.). As a reminder, I will NOT draw porn. I WILL draw suggestive pictures, but no naughty bits.
