Posted 9 years agoIt's become necessary to say this, since a certain someone on FA has recently tried to force OC relationships with characters owned by my best friend

I tried to tell this person that their behavior was upsetting said best friend, but they hid my comments and hid her comments, then posted a journal blaming me for their mental issues.
Here's the journal
"To a certain someone who decided to comment on my most recent work. LEAVE ME ALONE! I'm just trying to enjoy my life right now. I'm finally doing positive stuff for myself, but YOU are there once again to police me. I don't know if you're aware, but I've been dealing with personal issues and the last thing I need is you to ruin things that I do for myself! In fact, most of my problems have been triggered by YOU! I don't even know what you were doing on my page in the first place. Just leave me the fuck alone! I just want to enjoy my life! "
Now, I am not a licensed psychiatrist, but these delusions are getting worse and worse.
When asked by the owner of the character being forced a little sister upon, they just hid the comments and ended up further upsetting the artist.
Don't do this, seriously, it's on the level of art theft.
On the second OC, it's really not my business, aside from the fact that it upsets my best friend on the day before the Christmas weekend and I want her to have a GOOD weekend.
On the first, it's trying to overwrite MY OC which is the parent of the OC being appropriated.
More accurately, they are trying to erase my involvement with MY OWN OC by creating a new "mother" for them, despite being told by myself and the co-owner of the OC that it was not okay.
This person, and I use the term loosely, did not understand that both owners of the OC being given a "new mother" were not happy with this.
The character HAD parents and siblings, but this did not matter because "I'm doing something for ME!"
Stereotypical DudeBro Fuckboi behavior.

Edit: 3:23AM CST, as of right now, he's edited his submission from "little sister" to "cousin" which still IGNORES the wishes of the character owner.

Posted 9 years agoSo, my GPU is set to run at 120-230 fps, but my screen is capped at 60hz…
Turns out that vertical sync was causing the screen tearing I was getting.
The tech who came today to install my brand new hard drive, which did fix the issue for about five hours, before the screen tearing intensified, was the first one to ACTUALLY know what my issue was.
He said, “Yeah, you wouldn’t expect a machine this expensive to have screen tearing that bad.”
NO ONE AT TECH SUPPORT HAD ANY IDEA WHAT THIS WAS.
Thank god the on-site technician they sent out was a gamer.
Turns out Windows 10 has this problem on various high end graphics processors, screen tearing out the wazoo.
But, I set all my games to disable vsync and they run great now.
I turned it off for Firefox and enabled hardware acceleration and it too seems to be running better.
WHY DID I HAVE TO STRUGGLE WITH TECH SUPPORT FOR TWO MONTHS TO FIND THIS OUT!?
WHY!?!?!?!

That being said, getting a bunch of faves but zero comments on things I post, it irks me for reasons I can't quite put my finger on.
It's one reason I didn't come back a year ago after cooling off about things I can't/won't mention that led to my leaving in the first place.
Just dunno, not 100% sober from partying all night yet, just felt like saying my piece.
May stop posting things, may not, we'll see.

The userbase is heavily toxic and I had to go to an artist that drew something for me to get a takedown request sent in.
A picture of mine was posted there and the comments were extremely toxic, about how OCs are filth and the people who make them are "deluded".
Here is their response to the artist I spoke of.
Their response: "No need to bother with proof. I'm happy to have an excuse to delete pics with fan characters. They are universally hated and I get tired of all the complaints. I wish to hell commissioners wouldn't delude themselves into thinking other people care about their silly character."
These are the people running the site, telling artists they wish people wouldn't make OCs.
Now, let me set one thing straight, I don't give a shit if someone likes my OC. I don't care if they care about the character.
I make OCs because I want to, because it makes ME happy. So, haters, take it somewhere else, I will get takedown notice after takedown notice filed until you wise up and stop posting my things on this site.
This brings up another point. Reposting artwork I commission without crediting myself and the original artist.
STOP DOING THAT.
If you submit it to an image board, E621 for example, properly tag the characters, [Yes, I don't care for the "fan character" tag on E621, put the names in please], credit the artist, credit the character owner and for the love of all that is good and holy, source it back to the original image. So the artist can get more traffic.

On another note, editing one of the pieces I've commissioned without the express consent of both myself and the artist is also not okay.
Due to a comment on a recent picture that someone should "edit that filth into Big Macintosh" I am cracking down on edits of commissions I've paid for.
You need my permission, as well as the original artist's, to edit anything on such an image.
That's all, back to your regularly scheduled lives.

I don't want to be bombarded by phishing websites and ads that will definitely give you a virus if you accidentally click on it.
I want to watch the art of the artists I watch, not be bombarded by a ton of mature, MILF, cuckholding and other ads.
I have heard even more disturbing rumors about some ads that I won't even repeat.
Aside from a few comments on submissions and journals, I haven't really wanted to use this site for the last year.

Posted 12 years agoSo, I haven't gone to FM since my VAIO broke, didn't feel the need, I've gone months without a message in the past, had better things to do with my time.
I was curious, so I logged in about ten minutes ago.
I was reading through the profile, when I noticed parts of words were censored again, like the "bled" in rambled, or the word blood period.
I saw "1 New Message" and I was like "cool".
I clicked on it, got to my inbox, it said "Herro?" and I clicked on that.
Got a huge popup that said "UPGRADE YOUR MEMBERSHIP" and "only paid members can view this content"
So, now they've taken away even the three free messages a day you were allowed, they've FURTHER censored the site and even taken guestbooks off of profiles so you can't say hello to anyone else.
Trying to get 5$ a month for "silver membership" was bad enough, but it was like 12$ a month for "gold membership" which seemed to be the only way to be able to send and receive messages.
I have posted "Since they no longer allow free members to reply to messages, I am no longer using this website.
Thanks for your time." all over the profile and just logged out permanently.
