When I'm not driving I am working on my board games.
We're not doing that, I'm trying to meet friends or family who are willing to meet in person so I can have some physical contact.
This is why there is so much dust collecting here.

Posted 8 years agoFinally making it back to the state after leaving on the weekend too pick up my niece and sister and help them move. Saturday through Thursday driving sleeping loading unloading. So might get some work done, some art done, and work on a game.

So I'm back in the truck and trying to sketch at least once a week. 2 get practice and to try to appease the masses who have always hoped for request from me and or let down by me having no motivation, I am doing free requests based on my Discord page above. That link will last for 24 hours so don't mean if you need a refresh link.
What is from people is first a pose, particularly your character here that other artists are doing that I can try my hand at to see where I stand compared to them. I know there are those who look down on tracing or copycatting but it is not for money and it is for practice. So if you are interested and have a pose and or have the original artist permission posted in my Discord link and you could be the weekly winner of a free sketch that I then ink. I will post what I have done so far this month on my next break

Posted 9 years agoSo, helping family move, I'm moving, I'm sorting, and waking up to who I've become. I'm done making promises and letting this or that get in the way. So, no more of that. I'm not going to keep asking about owed art or saying I'll get to stuff. I'll let you know. Maybe I'll just have to stream or something to make sure it gets done. That will be in time.
For now, I'm dropping offline for the most part. I'll still be able to be reached on Skype or Discord (LabrnMystic) but time is limited these days. My new job works with a farm, and harvest is around the corner. I'm going to be busy. Meanwhile, I've been helping my family sort and move since the last week of July. Yes, EVERY DAMN DAY. An hour after work or most the day when I get rained out. Sorting, helping family consolidate and let go. It has woken me up to not only family habits and downfalls but my own. So I decided to make a change. You'll never change until you become uncomfortable enough to make the change.
So no more empty promises. No more victim mentality. No more pity party. No more hating myself and art. No need to comment. I'll read them eventually if you do, but I won't be posting journals, art, or faving for. . . I honestly don't know how long. Until I feel I've gotten my shit together enough, or if I do go for good, I'll still come by for a proper goodbye.
So take care friends, wherever you are in life and whatever you find yourself doing.

I was coloring my logo practicing colors. I'm stuck at shipper for a few more hours. Willing to do a free coloring. I can do some sketch cleanup, but cleaner the lines, better chance you'll get picked.
I'll give peeps 1-2 hours to submit lines & color references. Then the next 2 hours I'll reveal how far I got or the finished coloring before I drive tonight.
Put a number between 1 and 100 as first line. I'll randomly choose someone by number generator.

I can't think up stuff to draw or get motivated to draw from scratch. So, if you have an image you like and want your character or a specific character to be in the image just link me the image and characters and I will sketch it up.
Did I offer you a request in the past? Did you get refunded from a past commission that I took too long on? well here is your chance to get it done. Just link the image you like and the characters you want and I will sketch in my downtime.
If this works out, then I'll try $1 commissions to ink the sketches and $5 to color.

Who likes Slayers? (ON HIATUS)
Posted 10 years agoWhen I was at ACEN, mid may in Chicago, I picked up a collection set of Slayers from the start to Slayers, Try. Been slowly watching it, and I really liked the series. So, while I'm waiting for feedback or taking a break from figure drawing for 
jaxedge, I may do some random doodles and offer little requests when I have the time. It'll be first come, first serve, as I'll only have the time I'm parked to work on it. I'm already bad enough with trying to keep a sketch schedule, so if I don't get anybody, it'll just fall to the wayside. Otherwise, however much I get done.
Probably cosplay ideas, or spell casting. Not sure. I also did some Super Mario RPG doodles, such as Belome.
Also, while waiting on more art and playtestin for Fat Ass Santa, I started concentrating on Assemble the Titan more.
More info to come on it as I get more design down and more play testing. For those of you who have played Shadows over Camelot, you'll take a liking to this. It is a co-op vs the board dice game. You must assemble the titan to drive off invading aliens.

Just an Update [keep]
Posted 10 years agoThat seems to be the way of it. So much more happening offline than online. Then I try and get myself a smart phone (I do hate touch screen pads, I may have to go black berry) and the screen died on me. Otherwise, was going to allow peeps to skype me during my travels.
News:
-Sister underwent and survived her next cancer surgery. Prayers and healing for her. She is doing fine.
-YCH comic by
spirale coming by April.
-Mystic comic just waiting on Text. Waiting to hear back from Creed. Otherwise I'll fill it out myself and will be posted, as well as missing art of Mystic.
-Another successful playtest of my first board game designed by me, "Fat Ass Santa," that went great. 3/5 players were all within a turn of winning, so the tension and excitement was high. They all enjoyed it. Just a bit more game balancing for the "naughty route" and it'll be ready for art and Kickstarter.
-Xcom is keeping me sane. I failed my driving test for a new job since it was a manual truck. I couldn't get it back into gear, from both being in an automatic for so long and being nervous. I need out of the truck so I can continue my other passions. I'm finally feeling stifled in this thing. Mostly the schedule, and work has not been gracious with it. For those who know about it, my hours of service was broken 3 times in the last week. Lies and bad intel from dispatch put me in a bad way more than once that week.
Future Image(s) require the right artist. So, appealing out to my sub/bottom/gay pals out there, who is an artist you feel handles male on male very well? I'm thinking of opening the flood gates for a teacher/student with Labrn and a male student. So suggestions? Pretty much a "volunteer" gone out of control image.

Posted 10 years agoFirst things first, when I get home for the holidays, there is going to be some gallery overhauling. I may clear it out and post things back in like I had before. (first colorings/sketches worth a damn, colored images for others, then commissions from old to new) but the big thing is since I was finally able to register a page for Mystic, her art will be on her page:

STUDENT PARTICIPATION:
So, for those of you who don't know about the story being done by lerwin, Labrn is a teacher at the Private School she is going to. Now, it has been random generated characters that show up in her stories, but I've got a few image ideas in mind to help flesh out the school, as well as a few teachers. The question is, are any of you interested in being in backgrounds, on the side, and being in side projects? It is pretty much a college, though somewhere between High School and College, as entry is by skill and maturity and not arbitrary age.
That said, the first thing on my mind was Labrn sending out his syllabus to his students. The school is finally becoming Co-Ed, so he is trying to see if its worth dividing up his classes into similar groups (males/females, straight/gay) or just left to the schedule. To do this, a simple survey was sent out to many students.

Orientation: Straight/Bi/Gay/Other:___
Image: (for quick teacher reference)
Now, your task, students, is to fill it out. Do you simply fill it out as is? Did you add something on for the teacher? What kind of image did you send the teacher? (on link in the case of answer on this journal)
So either by my hand or a quicky by an artist, I plan to get a few reaction shots, if something like that pops up with responses.

Broken free & sketching! (ON HIATUS)
Posted 10 years agoAlright! Finally broke off the shackles of depression for the time being and sketched up a little doodle fight for 
In_Abyss. It felt good. I started to feel the pinch of perfectionism, but then I reminded myself "how often do I sketch? How the hell could I do it better in less time?" and that shut me up.
So, gonna sketch more during my down time. That means I won't be on skype as much, because I can't chat and sketch at the same time, but I'll jump on afterward. One of things I'm looking to start sketching is my ABACAB series. Wacky, Toonish fight scenes akin to what I just sketched: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15211895/ that spawn in my head while listening to the song ABACAB
So, if you're game for being in wacky toon antics, let me know. You can make suggestions, but I can't promise I'll follow too closely as I'm just leaving it up to my random imagination. I had a list with a few of you on it and ideas I had. If I can't find it or come up blank, I'll post up a journal to open the floor to ideas.
As for those who I'm doing digital colorings and the like. I'm taking a break to get sketching and just get my actual art juices flowing. I'm hitting brick walls and broke down, so I gotta keep with what gives me momentum.
Jaxedge I've got a new sketchbook for the sketchbook commission you bought. I couldn't find one with the large dimensions that I originally quoted, but I snagged a 100 page one, so twice the pages but standard paper size instead of 11x14. it'll mean any comics will either be multi-paged or small.

Posted 11 years agoSo, yeah. Not really online these days. Just been focusing on my board game designing, family stuff (moving to new house and still having to drive a semi here and there) and just in general "MEH."
One of the major causes? Changing my ways. Nothing makes a possible manic depressent with either A.D.D. or Impulse Control than trying to rework your hubris, habits, and way of thinking. Its baby steps in the right direction, but they're followed by Loooooo~ng boughts of depression.
For those that check in, I'm ok. As in, nothing to worry about. It just means I'm mostly isolated and mind adrift on the meaning of life. Thats where my depression takes me. The whole "Whats the point" existentialism that has been either the rise or fall of plenty over the years.
Anywho, as much as I don't want to hit a hard reset on projects and the like, I'm afraid I'm going to end up doing so. Why? I find it easiest to clear out the room, put everything back in piece by piece, and then carry on til it gets cluttered again. (One of the reasons people always call me to help them move) and there is good news. I've picked up some sketching aids to help me with my anatomy, skill, and such. So as I slowly begining rejoining the furry fandom at large, I'll hopefully show improvement in my art.
I still have emails and notes saved, so its never like I just delete stuff I don't get around to, it just gets buried. With that said, I have no problems with people asking again. I'm very up front if I have gotten around to it or not. I've gone through another case of refunds because I couldn't get over my anatomy (I know, drama queen/king) but that is why I'm striving to better my skills. I'm all self taught, but I'm actually reading the books and tutorials instead of just glancing over them. Gonna at least doodle each day and take it step at a time while I go over stuff. I may end up coloring traditionally again, as that is what got me going last time.
As far as other good news, game play for Fat Ass Santa is pretty nailed down. Just a bit more playtesting while I get the board and art figured out. Then the campaigning, kickstarting, and crossed fingers can begin. Then comes Summoner's Legacy, and a journal of 57 other game ideas, including the CCG for PBB.
TL:DR: I'm on "read only" status until I can kick my depression and find my feet again. You can check in, but the queue of artwork to post is just piling til I get it together, including all the sketches I've done. Games of my own design are coming in the future. I'm okay.
PS: As I've gotten my new phone for family and the like, I still have the old prepay cell I use for work. One of the major causes? Changing my ways. Nothing makes a possible manic depressent with either A.D.D. or Impulse Control than trying to rework your hubris, habits, and way of thinking. Its baby steps in the right direction, but they're followed by Loooooo~ng boughts of depression.
For those that check in, I'm ok. As in, nothing to worry about. It just means I'm mostly isolated and mind adrift on the meaning of life. Thats where my depression takes me. The whole "Whats the point" existentialism that has been either the rise or fall of plenty over the years.
Anywho, as much as I don't want to hit a hard reset on projects and the like, I'm afraid I'm going to end up doing so. Why? I find it easiest to clear out the room, put everything back in piece by piece, and then carry on til it gets cluttered again. (One of the reasons people always call me to help them move) and there is good news. I've picked up some sketching aids to help me with my anatomy, skill, and such. So as I slowly begining rejoining the furry fandom at large, I'll hopefully show improvement in my art.
I still have emails and notes saved, so its never like I just delete stuff I don't get around to, it just gets buried. With that said, I have no problems with people asking again. I'm very up front if I have gotten around to it or not. I've gone through another case of refunds because I couldn't get over my anatomy (I know, drama queen/king) but that is why I'm striving to better my skills. I'm all self taught, but I'm actually reading the books and tutorials instead of just glancing over them. Gonna at least doodle each day and take it step at a time while I go over stuff. I may end up coloring traditionally again, as that is what got me going last time.
As far as other good news, game play for Fat Ass Santa is pretty nailed down. Just a bit more playtesting while I get the board and art figured out. Then the campaigning, kickstarting, and crossed fingers can begin. Then comes Summoner's Legacy, and a journal of 57 other game ideas, including the CCG for PBB.
TL:DR: I'm on "read only" status until I can kick my depression and find my feet again. You can check in, but the queue of artwork to post is just piling til I get it together, including all the sketches I've done. Games of my own design are coming in the future. I'm okay.

and I also recently watched "A Million Ways to Die in the West" - A Mustache!
Got me thinking, I need to work on faces (which is holding me up on Rikarda's image cause I can't be satisfied with Mystic's face) so as I work on them, I decided I'll also add staches.
So who wants a quick sketch bust of their character with an old western Mustache?
Will be doing them all day today while I'm parked for the weekend. You have til Midnight Tonight!

How many of you recall some years ago when I grabbed references from my watchers? Asking for your characters and limits of their use.
Well, since I'm going to be driving for at least 2 months without internet (except where I can snag some wifi at the truck stops) I'll be offline. I plan to get back to my sketching since I won't really be able to work on my board game stuff in my car. So, its time to update the references.
I've got this weekend to snag what I can, but I'll check in and keep this journal up so peeps can post when they can.
TLDR: If you're cool with me sketching your character, provide me these things:
1) Character's Name & Species
2) Reference images/links to your character.
3) Rating & Limits - Rating = General, Mature, Adult. Limits such as = Only drawn with other girls, nude but nothing showing, always with ____.
POST IT HERE! NOTES WILL GET LOST!

Posted 11 years agoHarder than a Duck games presents a number of board, dice, and card games that are being play tested and at least 2 will go to Kickstarter by Christmas after a bit more research and game testing (Just don't know which Christmas) ^_^
That is where the majority of my time (and hours should be sleeping) have been spent towards. rikarda & jaxedge I'm sorry to delay you. It is why I said give me time with the art stuffs, as I am a tsunami when I have the motivation.
It is one of the few dreams I can recall from my childhood. Being able to create and make my own boardgames that others can enjoy.
The latest is called "Baron Boys' Dice Siege" which is a duel like game where you have troops (lots of d6s) and you roll them to find out what class they are via cards you collect (equipment, such as spears, chariots, and crossbows) and send your waves of dice at the enemy's base. First to crash the gate wins.
It was a completely original idea (as much as it can be these days) that hit me out of nowhere. I think I may have even invented a mechanic that I can reuse for plenty of Tower Defense and other styled games that deal with timing.
It under went its first play testing that I refereed. The 2 players enjoyed it, found a few tweaks I had to make, and also LOTS of combos and utility that was unexpected. That is the 2nd most exciting thing about game making (next to people's genuine enjoyment of something I created) that there is hidden combo potential in the game. That means people can experiment! People will WANT to play again! Replayability is SUPER in the world of games.
I'll maybe get me some pics of today's game play. I'll get back to the furriness tonight or tomorrow. The blowback from things going on a roll with my gaming tends to have a lull that I get other stuff done. :3
*Jumps up and woots* Hot damn. Its really happening! Depression is shattered. The sluggishness that held me down is shattered. Doubts and the like, gone. I can actually look ahead and see a goal I want and CAN achieve. That is a sight for sore eyes after being in a lull with life for probably 6 years.
